Mixed experience. My wife had a wonderful facial, but there were small things that could be improved. Beautiful and unique environment with wonderful and exceptionally professional staff. They were wonderful. She very much appreciated not being pushed to buy products toward them end of the facial with up selling, as most do toward the end of the treatment. However, the cleaning staff was so noisy and intrusive within the spa area that the experience was variable. Though simply doing their jobs, the environment was disrupted with the activity and could be timed more effectively for when patrons have left the room. Another improvement would be to allow husbands (me) to sit in the bar and order a drink to wait for my wife. “Bar is for hotel guests only, I’m sorry” was the greeting. So, I had to leave the space and sit in the lobby if I wanted to have a beverage. Granted, I’m being childish, but I went down the street for a nip instead. And, to be fair, I was wearing a baseball cap during United Nations week, so I may have been best suited to a bar than a lounge, but still, I had expected to have a relaxing time waiting for my wife but then had to move on to a location I was welcomed. Perhaps we’ll visit again, we are local, but perhaps we test a few more locations before we do so. Shibui is recommended, of course.

My wife and I visited the spa today for a couples massage. I have had a few massages over the years but Georgia, my masseuse, was wonderful, she has a gift. This was the best massage experience I have ever had. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The locker room was stocked and supplied with everything I could have needed. If you want an enjoyable and relaxing experience you cannot go wrong at Shibui.

Seasoned therapists work really hard to resolve issues with the sore muscles, knots, tension. The treatment rooms are designed with Japanese sensibility and catered with the most attention to details. Be sure to arrive a little early for a gentle swim and some steam, the spa pampers with the most heavenly terra cotta towels and custom robes. Everything is perfect.

Very relaxing atmosphere. After soaking in the spa, my husband & I received an amazing couples massage. I wish we had arrived earlier to spend more time and be able to use the sauna before our treatment. The sound of the fountain added to the relaxing feel of the experience. I hope to visit again!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Five Pine Lodge and Shibui Spa was #1 on our list of to-do's. All we can say, is that it was the BEST spa experience of our lives! We had a swedish couples massage which was the best we both ever have had. This spa is immaculate, peaceful, gorgeous and the staff is out of this world! We absolutely will be back.

The decor here is just beautiful. One of the loveliest spas I have been to. It was easy to make an appointment and my massage was incredible. Overall I highly recommend this place. If you don't live in the area, it's worth the trip downtown

I think this might be the best spa I’ve ever been to in NYC. So relaxing. They really make you feel special. The pool area is so beautiful and serene. I also appreciate that they have a gym you can use before or after your treatments. If you’re looking for a place for a special occasion or just to treat yourself, this is your spot. It’s pricey, so definitely not a place to visit regularly, but definitely worth the splurge.

The spa experience was beautiful. Great hot tub, sauna and greeter. The couple's massage was not. When you hear your fiance, that you bought the entire birthday experience for, asking the older LMT to slow down, to be more careful and do certain techniques, not just once but two times, and still not be heard, it's how the entire experience is written off. You don't perform an entire massage while sitting in a rolling chair, in case it needs to be said. I hate bad reviews. But this was a birthday present that felt like a bad use of $300 (I left a tip for the greeter), and won't be repeated.

Everything was fantastic! I would have given five stars if during my facial, Sandy didn't wash her "dishes". She should clean her bowls, brushes AFTER I leave. Other then that, it was great.

Really beautiful spa with one of the best massages I've ever had. But pretty expensive ($300 for massage) so more of a special occasion place. The lounge area has a pool but found the water too cold to go in.
