I can’t recommend Julianna (Anna) for haircuts and blowouts enough at Rescue Spa! She is a perfectionist and true genius when it comes to hair styling. On top of that, she is lovely, kind and professional. I’ve been lucky to have my hair done by her many times, and every single time I get a ton of compliments and inquiries for her information since people are so impressed. I don’t color my hair but if I did, I’d run to her since I’ve seen the amazing results. She is a truly wonderful hairdresser, and the ambiance of rescue spa is great too. I’m so lucky to have found her - anyone would be!

Truly one of the worst salon experiences I’ve ever had. I had been traveling all day and was headed upstate to see my family, I had to run to ABC Home but decided a haircut was in order. I saw rescue spa and it looked cool so I thought I would give it a try. They were able to get me in right away, which should have been the first sign not to go there, but I was in a pinched the receptionist asked if I’d like some wild infused water, and told me it would be a few moments. About 10 minutes later my stylist told me she was all ready for me. I was very straight forward in what I wanted. Short on the sides, long on top and to thin it out all over. I’m one of the lucky ones who has incredibly thick hair. She basically told me she wouldn’t thin my hair as she said it was bad for it. I get my hair thinned every 3 weeks and it’s still wild as ever. She then cut my hair and basically took a few millimeters off all over. My hair looked like a bowling ball. I asked her to cut it shorter on the sides. A few minutes later she said she was all done. Not much had changed and I was stuck with a $90 bill. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

This place is amazing and fabulous! Finally a spacious pristine elegant and bright spa that offers everything and people who work there seem all lovely and nice (no attitude). Diana Yerkes just knows what your skin needs and gives an excellent facial using Biologique Recherché products. I can see this being a fun place for girls get-together and wonderful gifts for special occasions like my birthday!

I stopped in on Sat. to buy a lipstick. I didn't even realize that this is a full spa and salon! I started talking to Sandro, a colorist/stylist there, and mentioned that I was not happy with my highlights from another salon. He started telling me what he could do to correct it and he really seemed to know what he was talking about. Lucky for me he was available right then. He has just moved here from London. He corrected my color/highlights and he really DID know what he was doing! I loved my new hair. Sandro is also the absolute nicest guy. In addition to loving my hair I also love him! He is my new go to and if you are looking for a new stylist/colorist you should make him your go to also! The best.

Beware, they are quite serious about the well communicated cancellation policy. I respect a business for having a policy and enforcing it. However, I did not understand, nor appreciate, that even if I re-scheduled, With any technician, I’d be paying for the cancelled appointment, 100% of it. My facial with Andrew was amazing. My skin looks insane. So happy! The spa is dreamy and beautiful. The staff was gracious and accommodating. My mother had a blowout with Kyong and her hair looked GORGEOUS. Thank you Rescue for a wonderful experience. I had the absolute worst customer service experience at Rescue Spa in New York City. This spa threatened to call the police because they did not understand how to properly use their own scheduling software. Their software requires you to input a credit card - if you input an incorrect credit card number a notification is provided. They had my credit card on file, they didn't use it to charge me for my facial service, then accused me of running out (even though I spoke directly to a sales associate prior to leaving their establishment). They continued to harass me by calling me, emailing me, and ultimately threatening to call the police. I told them I would not be providing my credit card information via email when they have access to it in their scheduling software. After I told them they had my credit card information available, they charged my credit card (that they had access to the ENTIRE TIME) without so much as an apology for the prolonged harassment and threats to call the police. I can only imagine that this was because I'm African American - would they threaten to call the police on any other customer? They claimed I didn't check out, even though I spoke directly to one of their associates prior to leaving the spa. They said they had evidence that I ran out because of their security cameras, but never addressed that I spoke directly to their sales person before leaving. Their esthetician or sales person did not mention checking out while I was there. They blamed me for their faulty customer service and then didn't even apologize when I pointed out that they had access to my payment information. They were incredibly unprofessional. I will never return to any of their locations. There are plenty of spas in New York - get better customer service elsewhere. Edited to add: They claim that my credit card on file was invalid, but they managed to use the same exact card on file AFTER I pointed out to them that it was present in their system - I made no changes. And as you can see from their statement, still no apology when they were clearly in the wrong.

UPDATE: Amending my previous review as I have returned several times and have been treated with nothing less than grace and kindness. Cristina was incredibly gracious, and I received what I can safely say was the absolute best facial of my life. My skin was more than glowing when I left, it was radiating. This has become my go to facial spot and where I purchase all of my products. I am so glad I gave Rescue Spa a second chance. Love this spot so much. Terrible customer service up front, amazing facial inside. Honestly, if I’m paying this much money, I want the whole experience to be amazing. And the facial was, don’t get me wrong. But I was totally ignored for 15 minutes, and had to go get my facialist, who then refused to work with me because she didn’t like my energy. There are better places in the city.

Shopping at rescue spa has been a traumatic experience. The service agents do not bother to guide you or help you with your concerns. I have been trying to reach out to them the past month on advancing my regimen and received no response. I used to be a loyal customer the past year. They've also not published my bad review on their website. My advice: Skip rescue spa and go to other online merchants. I will also stop visiting their spa. I have a lot of options that carry BR products and have spas.

I love @biologique_recherche but experienced the worst after care and customer service experience. I received a facial in which I loved dearly which prompted me to refer a good friend whom experienced a series of post inflammation, congestion, and hyperpigmentation from extractions after her custom facial. **We requested an esthetician who had skillful experience in dealing with brown skin and women of color. Chantal was prescribed to my friend, unfortunately, on the day of her service, she was welcomed by another esthetician. No one could explain why a last minute change in esthetician ensued.*** Upon arriving at the store yesterday and expressing our concerns with her post facial experience that caused post-inflammatory trauma/hyperpigmentation from extractions, and rapid congestion on her t-zone, the managerial staff showed very little care and empathy. The managerial staff proceeded to tell us we were overreacting and couldn’t see the issue with her skin, while failing to offer a skin analysis on the spot.The blonde manager severely inadequately inept in dealing with skin of women of color and why a post-facial hyperpigmentation shouldn’t have happened, couldn’t intelligently explain the cause of this despite her 10+ experience. Nor does she have the experience to give a proper analysis on highly pigmented skin. ***To our astounding surprise the owner @danutamieloch did not provide a proper table assessment to fully understand what caused my friend’s post facial skin condition. She foolishly and carelessly blamed my friend for her post facial skin trauma. Even made an absurd suggesting that a dog/cat might have caused her post facial scarring/hyperpigmentation. My friend doesn’t own pets. She concluded that we were indeed overreacting without showing proper care or concern. She even suggested my friend opt out of receiving facials in the future because this will be her usual experience. She even suggested my friend’s skin was already in the condition it was prior to the facial and tired to illogically make the comparison of a Muscle soreness after a workout to a post facial trauma and pigmentation. She seems clueless and lacked any desire to fully provide an in-depth analysis and care.** We finally were offered of refund but the entire experience was heartbreaking, deplorable, inconsiderate, and heavily infused with client blaming. No one took responsibility for changing her requested esthetician last minute* I would hope @rescuespa adopts a serious training model and employ more well rounded estheticians familiar with dealing with the skin of women of color, I would hope you will provide an after care experience that is embolden with care, empathy, and actual consideration. Consumers aren’t just profit margins or commodities to help your bottom line, our concerns matter as well. The experience showed the lack of integrity and moral standard your company fails to uphold. Everyone should be treated with the upmost consideration and care not just when money is being spent. ************* Danuta in response to your reply it is very clear you are still inept and sticking by the claim that we are overreacting. You fail to comprehend and truly listen to the core of the issue. We never claimed this was about race or money. It is clear by your response how unprofessional and inadequate you are at taking responsibilities of your mistakes. Of course you fail to see the issue because you never even cared to look at her skin you properly to access the issues. You failed to apologize for the inconvenience of changing her esthetician last min. Of course I received samples I spent over $500 in products including a facial. I never received any skin consultation as you mentioned which is false. I have attached photos of my friend’s skin condition on YELP so you can see because you seem to be quite oblivious. This isn’t about race or money but your inadequate customer service, lack of concern, client blaming, inept experience with skin of color and oblivious acknowledgment in recognizing my friend’s post facial reaction.

First and foremost all I have to say WOW!! The facials and BR products are EVERYTHING (especially th p50 1970 ) I must admit this was one of the best facials I've had in my LIFE! To sum this up all I have t tell you is this place is EXTRAORDINARY !!!!! once you walk into the spa it looks like your walking in to a Magazine like literally! With everything being all white, the pillars and decor is outstanding! they even have a vintage fireplace owned by the late Jackie O. Even the staff treats you like your family with there outstanding service its unbelievable. I LOVE THIS PLACE <3

When I moved to NYC from London one of the top things on my list was to find the best esthetician. I am super picky and do not let just anyone touch my face. There are so many spas in NYC so it was very hard to choose and I decided to visit a few to try them out. Rescue Spa was my last visit and I couldn’t be any happier. From the moment you enter it feels like you are a kid walking into a candy shop but better because it’s all skincare! Not only did I get lucky with Rescue Spa I also got lucky with my esthetician Dee. She is knowledgeable, patient, answers all of the crazy questions I have about my skin and skincare and of course she leaves my skin feeling/looking amazing. I don’t think my skin has ever looked so good. I try to go every month and always count down the days because I look forward to that experience every time.

This is a rare review that is not glowing, but I wanted to shared my experience. Staff were nice and welcoming when I got there for my bio-lift facial appointment. And sure, decor and ambiance are lovely as all the other reviews swoon over. Facialist (Dorothy) was nice enough but would sometimes talk over me and didn't seem too interested in listening. She made recommendations quickly. Recommended an extra $50 microdermabrasion for my congested forehead which I agreed to. I was surprised that she got into extractions quickly after cleansing as my skin didn't feel ready but I let her be the expert. The process was painless enough and massage was enjoyable. Afterwards, my forehead was sore and couple spots that had been fading were raw and much bigger. I thought this was normal and would fade after a day or two. When I got to check out, the products she recommended were at the register with the expectation that I would purchase. I felt pushed to buy and in a moment of belief that her recommendations would help, I bought 2 out of the 3 products. The next day however, I did not see noticeable improvements. The extracted pimples had gotten worse and started swelling with more fluid. I decided I had been using too many new products in my regime lately and went to exchange the items I had purchased for travel sizes since I wanted to test them first. This time, customer service was cold and unhelpful. I got one item (lotion P50 1970) in the smaller size but they didn't have the other (Masque Vivant) in any smaller sizes. I asked for a sample and the lady brusquely said she didn't have any (even though I know well there are samples of this item available). Mind you, I had already spent over $400 at this place. She acted like I was just trying to get free samples. Overall, customer service with the pressure to buy and cold reception when returning was a definite thumbs down. And for me, the facial was "meh." It's been over a week and those swollen extraction spots are only now going down and healing--and honestly my skin is not much softer, more glowing, or clearer... my forehead congestion has not gone away either. For me, this place was overpriced and overrated.

I walked in today to have a professional look at my skin for which P50 version was right for me. Gabby helped me out today and was SO helpful, knowledgable, and I didn't feel rushed at all. Being in my 20s, sometimes I'm not taken seriously at high-end spas, but I felt like she really listened to my skin concerns. Couldn’t wait to get a facial with my teenage daughter. Mine was fine, my daughters was disastrous. When she finished her skin was bright red all over, even her eyelids. Looked liked she had a major sunburn. Couldn’t believe her facialisr couldn’t find a calming mask or solution to help her. Never saw her racialist to question her. I have been a customer of Rescue Spa's online service since 2012. This past summer two of my credit cards numbers were stolen. I only used both cards on the Rescue Spa site. Thinking there may be a problem, I used an Amex card that was never used on my next purchase to be sure, and immediately this card number was stolen - luckily Amex called immediately when someone tried to purchase over $700 at Ticketmaster. I called Rescue Spa and left a message for management. I called again and spoke to someone who said that they would call back. I have never heard from anyone and there are no added security measures to their site. As much as I love the product offerings, I think that having your credit card numbers stolen is terrible so I am alerting everyone who may be making online purchases to be careful.

Honestly, the only good thing this spa has is interior design, but I came there for bio-facial and mani-pedi, not a tour around MoMA. Bio-facial was just barely OK, the esthetician was very sweet, but when I looked in the mirror afterwards, there was neither glow, nor anything special. Over $200 facial and I honestly have better results with my masks at home! Then comes mani-pedi for $90. What can I say? Well....my feet have never been as rough as AFTER that pedicure. So, $200 facial plus $90 mani pedi plus tax plus $60 tips the front desk girl made me leave in CASH. Altogether about $370 and I have NOTHING to show for it. So guess what? I am sticking to my esthetician and my manicurist because they do provide RESULTS!

I had a wonderful facial with Alina and left with my face glowing. The service at the front desk was 5-star as well. I went to Jacqueline Lynch for a classic facial and she was INCREDIBLE. I was so satisfied during the entire facial and after. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly what to do for your skin type. My skin actually looked good the second I left and I barely had any redness (absolutely no scarring) which never happens to me. I also didn't have a good skin regimen and she recommended great products. My skin has never looked better and I now only trust her. I can't wait to go back!

Went to get bio seeweed gel manicure . I actually traveled from Westchester, it was supposed to be a good experience, since the place is “oh so VIP” ! My nails came out so bad ! Bubbles all over the nails, messy application, uneven color, gel all over my skin , cuticles, under my nails.... such a disaster! On top of that my nails were glued to the cuticles, and then to the skin underneath the nails. I told the lady at the front desk to check my nails after she asked me how my manicure looks and she agreed that were not good and ask my manicurist to fix them . Yes she filed the gel that was glueing my nails to the skin and kinda tried to wipe off the gel that was all over my skin , but still it wasn’t acceptable. I went back to front desk and they said that they will only charge me for the manicure, 35 bucks , where my nails didn’t even need any work , some mild filing . Ok , I tipped my manicurist 15 bucks before I checked my nails, because I never check my nails while getting them done , since it find it rude , then paid for the manicure 35, walked out of that place paying a little over 50 bucks( don’t forget about the tax

It was my first experience at the Rescue Spa NYC location. I must say that it is challenging for me, has always been challenging to entrust my long hair to someone. The search for the right place, and most important, for the right hands is always long and exhausting - I know what I want done to my hair, as a performer and a professor, not to mention the communication and the touch does matter. I'm no cookie cutter person and I am not into cookie cutter things. It was great luck to have found a stylist that was right for me, and when I was living in Philadelphia I discovered Rescue Spa and my hair stylist Svetlana. She approached me with utmost attention and every suggestion she made was in the spirit of MY vision, not imposing hers. She's thorough and prompt, very careful to detail, has great personality and a soft touch. So I was very happy that she is now with the Rescue NYC location since I moved back to New York. She's flexible, the result of her work is creative and lasting, and she is great at listening to and "reading" the client. It's actually fascinating how once, when I was extremely pressed for time, she pulled off a 12 minute miracle - which included washing my long hair and cutting it. Totally recommend the salon at Rescue and Svetlana personally. The staff is welcoming, the ambiance - relaxing and stylish.

I did not have a good experience the first time I came because my facialist was mixed up. When Rescue Spa heard that I was unhappy they called me right away to apologize and to come back again for another facial so I can get the experience I came there for. The appointment was with Kassandra who I original booked and heard great things about through reviews. She was very nice and very professional, it was the best facial I ever got and she gave me what felt like a royal treatment. I’m very happy Rescua Spa reached out to me when they knew I was unhappy and made sure I had a much better second experience.

I went for a color correction and I absolutely love my hair! When I first walked in, I was contemplating the color I had chosen, but Sandro and Doris were so helpful in offering their professional advice! The staff and management were super friendly and I could tell from the beginning that they really had a passion for their work! The curated collection of retail products, to the decor and ambiance makes you feel like this is the number one destination for all your beauty needs! Not only that, their esthetician are the most sweetest and experienced! My personal favorite: Bio Lift Facial with a mini Microdermabrasion- makes you feel renewed and Rescued! But my new favorite is the LED Facial! Special thanks to Shatelle, Olia, and Irina who “rescued” my face and Svetlana for cutting my hair! And the fabulous Rescue Spa team!

Thank you for refunding my order. I wish they hadn't have screwed up in the first place and sent me a hair comb instead of a brush. This kind of mistake should not happen given the price point of their products, and the whole return process was very inconvenient.
