The business owner welcomed me & my boyfriend upon entrance to Nuansa Spa on 5th Avenue near Rockefeller Center. Her smile instantly relaxed me -- NYC stress was gone! This luxurious boutique experience had me glowing all the way back to Brooklyn. I am still smiling! We booked in advance the 'Sweet Moments Package'. The couples massage began with an adorable pair of slippers & private bathroom with a fresh bathrobe. Chilled champagne, chocolates & dried fruits beautifully placed. We laughed while sipping our bubbly & chose oils - for me, wood oil was perfect & my boyfriend chose fire. A full body massage for 60 minutes -- I had no reason to tell my therapist to change her pressure; except to mention athletic injuries, which she worked on with precision. Waterfall showers are my favorite way to rinse in the world -- Nuansa's shower is the size of a villa. I swear the water felt better than any other water in the world, seriously... it might be magical. This spa truly delivers a boutique experience. Being on time allows for maximum relaxation -- I recommend wearing comfy clothes for afterwards but if you need to go back into NYC chaos, she has a great selection of cosmetics. I absolutely recommend this spa to anyone living in or visiting NYC! The entire experience was uplifting, personalized with sweet romantic touches. Nuansa Spa created the perfect urban getaway.

The waiting area is comfy, and they always have everything you need. This is truly one of the best spas ever. Ever since I've been to this spa I've never been to another one. The interior and atmosphere at Nuansa Spa is absolutely amazing. Everything about the service and environment creates an unforgettable tranquil experience. Walking off 5th Avenue and into Nuansa Spa is like being transported to a peaceful retreat away from the hustle bustle of the city. Being treated to tea and snacks while waiting in the beautiful space is a very nice touch. The masseuses are very knowledgable providing traditional Thai Massage. If you are looking for a great spa in midtown to treat yourself then you can't do any better than Nuansa! Update October 2016: I went back to Nuansa for a facial and it was absolutely amazing. The esthetician took great care to give me a treatment that was tailored to my skin type. I've been to other spas in the city where I got facials that used harsh chemicals and caused irritation and peeling after a couple days. Nuansa is different in the best way possible. They used a combination of gentle cleaners and a state of the art high frequency machine to make my skin absolutely glow and radiate. I went in because my skin was a little dry and breaking out and I walked out with what felt like a brand new face! Once again, the tranquility and atmosphere at Nuansa made the facial a unique and incredibly relaxing experience. I'll definitely be returning for another facial and for more massages. I highly recommend this place, it's unlike anywhere else in the city!

I’ve been to this spa twice so far and have booked services for my dad as well. Nuansa is worth every single penny! They’re super professional, patient, and truly value their customers. Coming to Nuansa makes me forget I’m even in New York for a couple of hours. This is a must for anyone that needs a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It's worth every single penny. I can't believe how amazing the staff is. I never write reviews and I promised the host (or coordinator, I don't really know her position) that I would write a review because she was absolutely amazing. I was about 35 min late and they still took their time. The couples massage was everything I hope it would be. I can't believe how relaxing this place was. I did it for my boyfriend's birthday and he was in love. Didn't stop talking about the massage or the experience for like a month. And again, I can't believe how amazingly sweet every single staff member was but especially the host. She was the absolute sweetest. Im dying to go back again. It made me forget that I was in NYC. Again, AMAZING!

Definitely a fan of Nuansa. I was staying in the city and wanted to try a new spot. Very calm and inviting. I was offered tea, water, or champagne upon my arrival. I was then taken to the relaxation room if you will, where nuts, dried fruit, and water were available. There was also 4 different oil choices. I filled out a quick intake form and my therapist arrived shortly thereafter. My service was deep tissue and my therapist were great. Right amount of pressure and check ins.

Great, great place for a facial. I was impressed that my specialist was able to adapt the facial to my rosacea so I wasn’t extra red afterwards. I was also running a few minutes late and the customer service despite being late (which I was so embarrassed about) was fantastic. I really appreciated it! Just a tip: you wouldn’t come here and spend a whole day like other spas but you’ll have a GREAT treatment and leave feeling super relaxed.

I mean I've never had a massage like it. Flexing the body working with breathing and just really getting stuck in and then a head massage that makes you ooze onto the table with relaxation. Worth every penny. I'll save up for two crappy massages in town to come and get a truly worthwhile one here. Defo recommend.

On record, for real, and without question Nuansa is the only place I will go for massage and facial in the tri-state area. For years I was loyal to and exclusive with Haven. Nuansa knocks it out of the park in every way possible. I booked a Thai Poultice Massage and The Restorer Facial for my birthday earlier this month. The massage, masterfully provided by Naru, and the facial, perfectly done by Tenzin, were among the best of those services I have ever experienced. And that ain't the half. The space, the whole floor, provides a vibe that is calm, happy, welcoming, and true. You can hear a pin drop there. There are no more than 12 lockers there. The shower is bigger than my bathroom (I live in an NYC apartment, and still). The founder, Nuanchawee, greeted and welcomed me on my birthday. She made tea - individual, custom blends - for every guest that day (which were three people besides me). The tea was amazing. Among the things that set Nuansa apart from other spas is the staff does not rush you through the procedure, nor are you rushed out when things ate complete. There is no hard sell for products, additional services, future appointments, and the like. Whether that is Nuanchawee's style or there is no need to be aggressive, or both, I appreciate greatly how my birthday this year was mellow and happy. For the first time in months I became somewhat repellent to the noise, fray, crowds, and heat that make summer in New York City what it is. Before Vanity Fair, InStyle, New York Magazine, Man Repeller, etc. find it, review it, and make it impossible to get appointments, check it out and schedule your first of many massage, facial, scrub, peel, and aromatherapy.
