The management team and front desk staff were very cordial and they reduced the price of my massage, but if given the choice I would probably not visit this particular Red Door location again.

I booked four massages for a group as a final hurrah for one of us that was moving. We had a small snafu with the main office that does the booking, but when this location's manager Leigh found out, she went out of her way to make sure our group party went perfectly! She even met us at the door! It was a great day for our group. Everyone was so happy and had a great experience, even our honoree, and it was her very first massage. This was the place where I went for my very first spa visit. I don't go often, but I highly recommend this location. If you are new to facial or a massage, this Red Door location is perfect. The shopping center has nice shops and several very good locations to eat as well. Everyone here makes you so comfortable, and the place is so tranquil and relaxing. If you need a little escape, this is the place to visit. Red Door Fairfax is my #1 choice for a special gift, too, or a special event like the one we just had. The prices are reasonable, but the experience is absolutely top quality!

Love it here, the best place to get services, all the therapist and technicians here are very well trained. Highly recommend deep tissue massages with CBD to enhance deep relaxation and promote circulation and to get the knots out. I noticed CBD massage helped me relax way more than the regular massages. Definitely give it a try, it is worth every dollar!! Will use CBD as a self care regimen, been using the tincture and salve since April and I have no pains anywhere. Getting a massage at least once a month is the best self care anyone can do for themself. See you soon Mynd at Fairfax. Love you guys.

Updated review: I went recently for massage and honestly I was disappointed on the service. It is clear that lady who did the massage is not very experienced in making body massages. However the pedicure was amazing and extremely clean and excellent products. I love the relaxing area and I hope it will not change after switching to the Mynd Spa & Salon --------- Fancy relaxing wonderful spa with lovely staff. However, the prices are very expenssive when compared to other places.

$140 will get you a gel manicure and pedicure (tip included) at Red Door. I was there for Mother’s Day and only 6 days later my manicure has peeled off. I pay $70 at my regular nail salon for a gel manicure and pedicure (tip included) and it lasts 2 weeks. My math says I spent $70 for cucumber water. Also, part of the luxury of going to the Red Door is sitting in a comfy rope and slippers while you wait for your appointment but apparently when you ONLY spend $140 you must sit in your street clothes amongst the luxurious women that are obviously spending more money then you. Never again Red Door Fairfax Corner, I cannot wait for you to go out of business.

While traveling from TX to CA, I visited this salon and it was a great experience. Teresa rendered a world class pedicure and was pleasant to visit with. I'd recommend this salon although it's not everyday that I would spend this much for pedicure services. She did suggest a salve for the cracked skin on my heels that has already done wonders, though! :)

I absolutely love this spa! It is small, which makes it feel very personal. The staff are so friendly and management was wonderful. The waiting area is smaller than the one at fifth avenue but again, it makes it feel more personal. I love that after your treatment you may use the jacuzzi and salt water lap pool. My first spa day at the Chatwal was last month and I have already booked again for this month. The hot stone massage is so relaxing!!

Every time I go I am amazed at his ability to know what I need... and create a color that an older woman simply needs... I refuse to cut my hair short and he treats it with such care. Great space for groups! We have an office of 7 ladies and we were all able to enjoy our treatments individually, but there was a nice space to socialize and relax before and afterwards. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted by the women at the door, checked in quickly and shown to the appropriate areas for changing and waiting for my appointment. I didn’t wait long until the esthetician, Jasmine, came to greet me. She was kind and thorough as she asked me about my skin type. The facial itself was very relaxing and excellent. Jasmine also made some recommendations for skincare regimens and follow up treatments I should consider for my desired results. I would recommend this spa to others looking for a relaxing experience.

This is a lovely place. The moment you enter you are greeted and escorted to your destination and offered something to drink. So nice. Judy was my nail technician and she was very good and oh so knowledgeable. I’m into more using natural products, and she was willing to answer all my questions in this area. She also gave me a great mani-pedi. Her foot and hand massage was incredible too, almost put me to sleep. I loved the lounge you’re taken to while you wait for your nails to dry. Wonderful. I came into the salon with a picture of the hair cut I desired. I received a different cut because the hair dresser thought I would look better. I was hesitant, but went along with it. When she was done, it didn’t look bad. Unfortunately, I can’t get the same results at home! ={ The cut I wanted was a super easy, wash and wear that I could style with my fingers. When I’m due for another hair cut, I’ll probably try somewhere else. The people at Red Door were very courteous and nice, but I didn’t think it was worth what I paid.

I booked two services for my birthday this year and I was disappointed that my technician was running late and thought my spa day might be cancelled. However, the staff couldn't be more attentive; they told me for my trouble (of waiting just a few minutes while they contacted the technician and moved the appointment back 30 minutes) I would receive a discount! Not only that, but they gave me a free facial mask while I waited for my new appointment time. I was so impressed with how they treated the mistake and with the services in general! Great location! This place was highly recommended. And the staff was friendly. But, there was a lot of fake stuff in the experience of a Shellac Manicure. First of all, I made an appt yet, when I arrived, they did not know who exactly on their team could do my nails. Then, once they found someone I waited 15 minutes for that person to become available. The manicure filing and thick application of Shellac was so bad that it began lifting within in 2 days. That was bad for my wallet and health of my nails because I had to go elsewhere to get it all re-done. I will never go back.

The online scheduling experience was excellent. The facilities are lovely. It is clear, though, the spa caters to women and for some services does not anticipate and relate to men. In brief, the service I went in for was a disaster and I actually wound up with bruising afterward. When I left, I would have told the attendant but he was busy with a customer on the phone and had no interest in engaging me. I will not be back.

Although I'd been to Red Door for manicures and pedicures, this was my first time going there for a haircut. Coleen had come highly recommended from a friend of mine (and now I know why)! She was very welcoming, listened to what wasn't working about my current haircut and then right to work on fixing it! She is extremely talented and I have never been happier with my hair. I feel I've found my stylist for life ;) As for the salon itself, all the staff members were friendly and helpful and even the robes were impeccable (and extremely soft). I had the worst experience with this place. I went to get my hair done for my wedding day & I was very upset. You would think for the amount of money I paid they would do a great job but that was not the case. The stylist did not even know what she was doing that I was basically trying to style my own hair at the salon. She then put cheap hairspray "so it can stay" all it did was made it worst, by the time I got home my hair was super hard, with no volume, it just looked a MESS!!!!! I attempted to fix it but there was very little I could do because of the hairspray, I had not time do wash it and do it myself (which I would of done a much better job) since it was time to head out for the ceremony. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not one to shout reviews from the rooftops, but I had the most blissful eyebrow wax experience of my life in late Aug 2018 and I just had to share. Kelly from Red Door Spa in Fairfax was amazing! I've been to Red Door before and when it's finally time to spend a few minutes on myself I like to indulge, just a wee bit. I come extra early to enjoy their quiet, plush waiting room that you can use even if you're just getting a brow wax. The waiting area and treatment rooms are perfectly scented with relaxing essential oils and are oh-so-comfy! Top that all off with Kelly asking just the right questions (what kinds of skin care products do I use...) to make sure she used the right kind of wax, her attention to detail, and doing an awesome job. I will definitely be back to Red Door in Fairfax.

She has been the most excellent technician to me over the last 3 years and I cannot recommend anyone better in the world (I travel quite a bit). Sabah is talented in all fields, but one skill that makes her so precious to me is her ability to get me through my waxing sessions quickly, without pain/discomfort, and with results that last for weeks! If you're in need of a microdermabrasion or a wax, I would suggest that you schedule it with Sabah to receive the best experience and result.

I wish I could have given this place ZERO star but unfortunately that is not an option :( I saw Meghan Thompson aka Fayline for color over the past two years, so it is safe to say she knows me and my hair texture etc. Two weeks ago when I was getting my color done, I saw a lady getting perms done by another technician (Suzanna). I asked the person who was washing off my color (her name is Martha), about perms and casually asked her if I can get it done. She convinced me that Fayline does a wonderful job and waves will look great on me! In a moment of weakness and complete brainwash I made an appointment for Friday May 3rd a week after getting my color to see Fayline for perm. After making the appointment, I still was not completely convinced and thought I should go in to talk with Fayline for a consult and bring a picture of what I have in mind, so I did! When I walked in and asked to speak to her briefly, at first they couldn't find her anywhere, finally when she came out for 30 Sec and looked at the picture I brought, she said, it will be just like that and they just have to use big rollers. After getting her reassurance I showed up to my appointment. She had such a hard time rolling my hair and was so frustrated with the rollers and was huffing and puffing saying, "ahhh! I am so freaking done!" She looked so amateur and unsure of what she is doing, I guess that was the sign and I should have just walked out, unfortunately for me I did not! I seat through processing and as I was telling them my eyes are hurting and my skull is burning, I just did not get any attention from anyone. The horror was when they unrolled my hair, not only the hair was not anything remotely looking like a perm or wave, it was just burned and melted hair that was bent in random angles in the middle!!! Then Martha walked me to the styling station and she kept saying my hair is looking so beautiful and I will look amazing this summer with my curled hair. Then she put tons of product and dried my hair with the waving attachment of blow dryer, still nothing. My hair just looked melted and limb and lifeless. So I went to bathroom and took a picture of the back to make sure I am not missing anything, I WASN"T! I walked to Fayline and showed her the picture of my hair on my camera and asked her if she thinks it looks like the picture I brought in. At fist she tried to convince me that it does, once she realized I am not buying it she said, oh well! I tried big rollers to make it look like what you want, we can try again next week with a different roller!That was when I ran my fingers through my hair and clumps of hair started coming off, they burned my hair completely. I was stunned by their attitude in down playing the fact that I am loosing my hair as we speak and her offering to put the same chemical that burned my hair all over again, not even an apology or remorse, complete denial!!! I asked to see the manager "Lee", she didn't even stepped out of her room to talked to me! She sent a messenger back and forth offering to do another treatment for free, once I said absolutely NOT, I am refusing to be completely bald, she sent a massage saying ,'That is fine there is nothing else since apparently Fayline told her she had a consultation with me and warned me about possible outcome. I am asking you, does this even make sense to anyone to say, I talked to her and I said I am going to torch your hair and burned the hell out of it and you said, yes! Lets do it! I can't believe, how amateur, khaki, irresponsible and rude these people are. As for me, I have to get a very short ( I mean almost like shaved haircut) to save whatever hair I have left. I wish there was an option to attach the pictures for you all to see. Please, think twice before you set step in to this place. yes, they have nice robes and wonderful drinks and they pretend they are all polite and hospitable, that is all a big lie. They don't even acknowledge they messed up or even apologize!

Was able to book a massage using class pass at this spa, in the past my class pass spa choices have not given me any reason to write a review. This experience however was entirely different. I was greeted at the door by name, escorted to my own private bath suite with steam shower. A courtesy robe and safe for valuables, I was then escorted to my massage room. I would give it 5 stars, but I took 2 stars off because I don’t enjoy the upselling of additional products and services while I’m trying to relax. It’s distracting and takes away from the experience. When you tell your esthetician no, they sometimes get a little snobby and I don’t need that when I’ve paid a pretty penny to relax. I rather head to the Four Seasons or W Bliss spa in DC for a truly relaxing experience.

Yesterday I went for manicure to the Red Door spa because a friend of mine gave me a gift card for manicure there. In general I try to avoid mani and pedi in USA as well the hair dressers and massages. Why you could ask me. The answer is simple, in US there are no real professional for this kind of services - they do not do their jobs and want to be paid for their funky job a lot of money plus tips. No real cuticle removing or proper cleaning under the nails, no grownin nails will be removed you have to pay for it separately, while in Russia or Kazakhstan it belongs to general pedicure procedure, no proper long massage of hands, we - former USSR people - understand under the humble nail care from our counties. If I really need a good pedi or mani or blow dry or body massage, I go only to Russian professionals here and make my appointments only knowing that the person who will touch my hands, feet, head or body, leaned this profession either in USSR or in any of Post Soviet country. Other wise it will be a huge disappointment for a lot of money and anger for badly done job. However, I got this gift certificate for visiting the Red Door and after a long hesitation, I finally decided to use it and give another chance to US spa services to be improved in my eyes. My friend , who gave this gift card, said, Red Door is a good salon and I gave a shot I will make the long story short - REd Door manicure was beyond bad. Noting removed, cuticle stay where it was before the spa salon visit, my hands were kept in tiny warm water bowl for few seconds which is not enough to prepare skin for manicure work, hand massage was too short, paraffin gloves for hand were not gloves, like in Russia, but some silly plastic bags where all paraffin ran down and didn't heal entire hands, the drying layer on nail polish was not put until I said she has to do so. After the manicure she didn't thank me for being her client and without even saying "good bye", she went to a next visitor of this awful spa. No nail polish drying devices. My nail polish cracked in few places already and this is not even a day of having it. Will I go again there? Absolute no. I think it is time to open a spa where only USSR professionals work. At least, I will know that I get a really high quality and satisfaction from the visit and for the money I pay there. But being general I have to admit that almost no a single service in the USA today works properly, there are no real professionals - from spa salons, to construction businesses - from teachers at schools to mobile phone services and internet providers . Not even taking how overprices all this services are. The longer I live in this country the more I get disappointed in any kids of services offered in here. I learn to do almost everything by myself, because of disquieting qualities otherwise. I think this country is slowly going down the drain.

Whether you're in the mood for just a basic mani/pedi of want a pampering oxygen facial and deep tissue back massage, you are in very capable hands at the Fairfax Corner Red Door and Spa. All the staff are incredibly discreet and helpful. The atmosphere is tranquil. The hair salon is small so be sure to book in advance. I remember the days where champagne and fresh strawberries were served. No more. But you can sip on a nice cup of tea and a nibble on cookies! Very professional staff. I have my favorite. You can have one too!

I loved my colorist susana, but I was very disappointed in the price (the gloss washed out after 2 days and leaked onto everything) and for the price I didn’t even receive an included blow dry?? Who pays that amount of money to blowdry their own hair? I’ve never been to a place that does that, let alone a ‘high class’ salon. I wouldn’t recommend to a friend, but I would recommend Susana, she was very very sweet and she listened and gave good advice with great solutions but the place itself failed to please.

Services in general are ok. Makeup quality is great but the selection of colors limited (no real neutral lip colors). I got acrylic French tips for my nails done there and that was excellent. Outside of that and superb makeup quality I think it's too hyped up. Most people who perform services act like you're going to come back in a regular basis when once a year to pay all that money was a special treat for me. For hair, salon citi is a block away and Ishmael does a far better job and is a master at color.

I visited this red door location for the first time during the Fall spa week 2013. I found this location to be very small in comparison to the fifth avenue location and not as peaceful. While you sit in the waiting room your can hear the hotel patrons in the gym running on the treadmill and doing other activities. You really dont get to relax much with all that going on around you. The facilities are the same as you will find at other red door locations but the setting is much more cramped. However, the therapist I was assigned to was very pleasant but the receptionist mischarged my card and it took a few weeks to clear the issue up. I definitely would not return to this location and pay full price for the services because you are not able to relax and lounge in peace as you would at other locations.

Absolutely love the Red Door/Mynd Spa & Salon in Fairfax! Having had experience with several other luxury salons, this one remains the best of the best in terms of services offered, customer service, luxury and total experience. The attendants truly listen to your feedback (ie stay away from this area, I have dry skin here, my hair does this...) and tailor your appointment accordingly, paying special attention to anything you might have noted. The receptionists always greet you with such care and consideration and are exceptionally kind and courteous when checking out. The facility is 5 stars, top notch and you feel as though you're in such a luxurious cove, separated away from the rest of the world during your experience. Cannot say enough good things about this location and its staff -- truly 5 stars!!!!

I booked a signature massage for my wife. If you like snooty service and aggressive marketing, then this is the place for you! You’d better be punctual too because if you arrive late, your service is cut short and you still pay full price. Plus if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, you get hit with a fee. All of this info is available only in small print on the confirmation email which is sent, of course, less than 24 hours before your appointment. At least my wife had a good massage.

Several years ago, I was fortunate to have tried The Red Door Spa, and had a manicure and pedicure professionally done by Seda! She is the best, and I have been a regular customer ever since! Seda puts her heart into her work and makes all of her customers feel very special and appreciated. I know that I am only one in many who look forward to the time that i have set aside to come in and be pampered by someone who definitely cares. The spa is always kept very clean, and I feel so comfortable to recommend The Red Door, that just recently I purchased a gift card for my husband, so that he too can experience The Red Door Treatment with a massage by Ben! He now is also a fan, as he felt that Ben did such a fantastic job, that he says he will definitely be back!

I had a great time. I was a little hesitant about coming in as it is very out of my budget typically to come to places like this. The more upscale locations. I have to say I am very happy with the outcome. I left with my hair looking absolutely amazing. I looked and felt great. Yvette was amazing and had asked all kinds of questions and gave me some recommendations. Which i have taken and things have been going smoothly. The additional umm i forget what she added during my shampoo was a great choice my hair still feels soft, silky and frizz is minimal. The staff was so nice and the atmosphere was just so welcoming. I was so impressed and will be returning.

My 1st visit was in May for an anti aging facial with Patricia and just came out of there feeling so refreshed and at peace. So, I booked another appt with Patricia for June and the experience was nothing less than superb. The staff is very professional, courteous and customer service oriented. I called and booked an appointment at 12pm same day. At 11:45 I called and stated I was running 5 minutes late due to unforeseen construction on my street and that I was on the freeway. Jessica was the one that answered the phone and was not understanding at all. She asked what I had scheduled and after stating it was a haircut only she got snippy and told me that the hairstylist who I was booked with (who was also named Jessica - pretty sure it was the same person) had an appointment with an important client that she absolutely had to see on time schedules right after me. Ok, understandable. I assured her I was on my way and would be no more than 5 minutes late. She then proceeded to ask which freeway I was on and tell me that there was no way I was going to make it on time. She then went “Hmmmmmm” for awhile and I told her just to cancel it and I wouldn’t be going in. I didn’t appreciate her tone and how condescending she sounded on the phone. This was supposed to be my first time there and my mom recommended them to me. I will not be booking another appointment simply based on my first impression of their customer service.
