I had a confirmed appointment today at 7pm and upon panicking because I thought I would be late I took an Uber that charged $50 just to arrive 20 minutes before my appointment and be received by a closed door with no answer. I called and left voicemail messages but no one answered. I’m so disappointed with the lack of communication. They could of at least call or send an email saying they were going to be closed or reschedule my appointment. Terrible experience! I feel so dumb and useless after wasting my money in the Uber and money paid for the service.

Extremely poor customer service.Called 2 days before visit,spoke to extremely rude lady whom I found out later,was the manager.I was greeted in a rude way,that made me ask the person if I was calling the right place."yes, yes. What do you need" I tried explain to her that I had a Groupon & that I had already scheduled an appt. but had questions prior my visit. "ok yeah. You need to come and show me Groupon" Decided to be nice and just say "ok thank you" & hung up. On the day of my visit, I walked in 45 mins early, which gave me time to find the office, which was hard to find, as there were no signs on the floor. Finally, when I found the office, I walked in to a space that seemed like an apartment. The place had NO look, let alone "spa" feel. I was rushed to closing he door behind me to take a seat. The whole process was rushed (I was early 45 minutes). There was a lady who was on the phone speaking rudely to another customer. I had a "aha! That's her" kind of moment. There were no other customers but myself in the office and she was explaining to the customer on the phone how "miss, I am not rushing you. I have ten people in front of me. What do you want me to do?!"(in a thick Russian accent) I was getting aggravated & annoyed listening to the conversation.An assistant gave me paperwork to fill,and even then, rushed. Asst said how I needed to hurry up ("before the other customer who was 15 minutes late comes. Bc if they come they would have to take them and id have to wait another 45 minutes until they were done with them.(only had one room to take patients?) as I finished filling out the paperwork, asst told me to get up and step forward to the front desk to submit pprwrk, to have the manager tell me "sit down, I'll let you know when I'm ready" (she was still on the phone with the other person. Speaking argumentatively) I sat down and the mgr gives me signs with her hand to give her the pprwrk.now asst tells me to hurry inside room. experience was terrible and it was not what should be expected from anybody, at a "spa" nonetheless.The asst once inside the room with me, rushed me through the whole process and had no English skills whatsoever to explain or walk me through the process, just like any procedure of such carefulness, one should be explained what should be done from the patient's side and what the patient is to expect from the experience, as it goes. This was my first colon therapy and it was the worst. NOT RECOMMENDING this "spa" to anyone!!! Mind you, the bathroom where one has to go and take care of business is extremely small, has a washing machine and cleaning products sitting around. Very unhygienic and unprofessional. I was upset the rest of he day after I walked out from this place, and it should've been the complete opposite. Even though I stopped the procedure half way, (due to the uneasiness and discomfort i was having with this experience ever since I entered the place) I was rushed while in the restroom so that the next patient could go in. Not asked if I was doing fine or how I was feeling (which I was feeling nauseous). "Hurry up the next patient needs the room" to which I answered " I have paid for my time" and I heard a door shut close. If you don't mind the lack of respect, unprofessionalism and higiene, and want to get "spa" treatments in a one bedroom apartment in a building in downtown, go for it. I can keep on going with details on my experience, but I think this should do. You can always try your luck and experience for yourself.

Nuna is amazing. I have done many treatments with her, my favorite for skincare being the IPL Photo facial and so so happy with the results, Nuna does a great job. She is so nice, accommodating and makes the whole experience really comfortable. I did a lot of research before going here and could not be more happy, with the prices and service I highly recommend Downtown City Spa!

I wouldn't recommend based on my experiences. I've had two scheduled appointments with the last being today (8.30.19). After several confirmations, I arrived as scheduled and no one was present. No one answered the phones then it appeared to be sent to vm after my 4th telephone attempt. There was no doorbell and no responses to my incessant knocking. I will not make other attempts! I haven't heard anything positive from others but wanted to give it a try personally. This spot definitely confirmed the negative feedback that I received. Should you try as I did (benefit of the doubt), I truly hope that your experiences were better than mine!°

The person who did my ipl facial burn my forehead, after 2 weeks I still have the laser brown marks. I really don't recommend, better to choose a nicer place. They don't even know how to speak English. Very bad experience...

Tatiana is very good professional. Booked another appointment for colonic. Feels great after the treatment. I was 15 minutes late due to train delays but Tatiana was very polite and explained to me all the stages of procedure

Extremely unprofessional and rude. Purchased 6 sessions through Groupon and never even came to this place in person. I called to make an appointment and they are claiming they will only honor 5 sessions and I haven't even gotten the chance to come in person! Then she told me she has better deals then Groupon and was yelling at me over the phone and didn't even let me speak to a manager but said she would put me on speaker. I can't believe the level of unprofessionalism and customer service. She said she doesn't need my business because she has other clients and I should have booked through their website because it's better than Groupon but company uses Groupon to promote their spa! Even if they were to honor the 6 sessions how do I know they aren't going to treat my skin or me poorly ? Unethical! And woman had strong Russian accent who barely can speak clear English!

So exited about my appointment next week, gonna try their pod and wrap, my tech Rosa said I might lose few pounds after the procedure !I’ve already tried velashape 6 or 7 times there and I luv that!I can finally see the result on my tights,I didn’t lose a weight but my skin really looks awesome now,I think few more times and I won’t have any cellulite. The price is very fair. I paid around 250$ for 9 sessions !!!in all those upscale Spas I would afford only few sessions as they are really expensive . So I think prices in downtown city spa are theirs biggest advantage

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was booked in for an IPL, or so I believe - the lady who gave me the appointment a week before wrote down "Laser" and told me it would help with a huge red patch that I had on my forehead for quite a while, her English was not the best, but I thought they must clearly know what to do) When I arrived, the SPA was apparently already closed, even I though I was given this appointment through their booking system. Another lady, who after numerous knockings and a phone call finally opened the door, was super unfriendly and pretended this was all my fault, because I should have known that they are closed already. After a number of super rude and insulting comments from her side, I left. It was simply ridiculous and a complete waste of time. These people are neither smart nor kind. Just don't go there.

I had an eyelash lift. I left there with one eye notably more lifted and the other missing a chunk of lashes. I'd guess 3 or 4 lashes from my right eye are gone in one spot. I didn't look close at them until I got back to my office. Her hands were very shaky and she was a bit rough. Still I would have given her a decent review if my lashes came out good. Cant believe she told me "they look beautiful, right me a good yelp review." Are you Effing kidding me

This place is horrible!!! All the workers were rude and nasty, they did not greet me(I feel they are prejudice). They kept me waiting past and hour for my colonic appt and never addressed me. During my colon hydrotherapy appt withTatiana she asked me about payments and came in the room with her appt book(during my session) She continuously left the room without giving me proper treatment and told me to press on my own stomach. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I also asked about the B12 shots they had posted onnthe wall to another worker and she ignored me with a smile. These ppl are pathetic and ignorant. I am going to dispute this treatment with my bank because I had a horrible experience. Oh at the end of my treatment she tried to be nice for tip and explain the process instead of doing that in the beginning.

I purchased a deal via Groupon and have been coming here for a month now and totally happy with results, pricing and services range comparing to other places! Any beauty procedure you need, you can get here. Velashape(for cellulite reduction) I highly recommend, that's a vacuuming, rolling and heating machine. I was suggested to buy my own attachment for $180 but I refused and now I regret, because it would be more hygienic and you will know for sure how many times you can use it(about 15 per attachment) and when to replace it. Stuff is very friendly, very little or no wait time if you make an appointment, costumer service is very satisfying, you get free detoxifying body wraps in a hot capsule, energy shots and anything you can think of. I am definitely going to come back every now and then, but after 3 sessions I already see how my body got few steps closer to perfect. I've been to many different spas for different procedures and always felt ripped off. Here, you definitely get more quality services for a very reasonable price, much lower than competitors would provide. 5 stars.

Although the place is very clean, I do have to comment on the really frustrating experience I had. I purchased a 9 session Velashape procedure through Groupon. I travel a lot for work and found out that I would be leaving permanently and wouldn't be able to use the sessions until July (although the voucher expires in July). If I would have known that the process would be so tedious and frustrating, I would not have bought the deal in the first place. I asked to work with them and completed 3-4 early sessions and then they were 'unable' to schedule me until July. Also, if you only are able to get in for an appointment once every two months, the likelihood of results is slim (no pun intended). Furthermore, I had to call upwards of 8-10 times to get someone to answer the phone during regular business hours and was hung up on multiple times because they did not want to deal with the situation. I think it would be a great deal and place to go if they could handle the volume, but the customer service severely suffers. I am in the process of trying to receive some sort of refund.

one of the worst places i have ever been to. They still owe me money, the service is bad and their manager/owner doesnt want to help or do anything. i was getting a laser hair removal treatments at that place. first of all, this place is not sanitary, then the machine they use its very old; people are unprofessional because the owner and workers are constantly fighting without paying any attentions to their clients. finally, my skin was burned in 4 diff place, and i didnt even get an apology, however, i was told via email, thats my skin caused the problems and not their machine, i was also told the scars will fade away in few days when instead they've become black. Worst place ever, i keep telling all people i know and diff sites of be careful of this place

I have been going to downtown city spa for the last 5 weeks for and as soon as I complete my 6th treatment I will never return to this place. Not because they aren't doing a good job with the treatment but the place has awful customer service. When I called to make my first appointment they were booked for the next 6 weeks. So I had to book all 6 of my appointments a month and a half in advance. This makes it impossible if something comes up or if you need to reschedule because they are booking so far in advance. I don't know if this Is for all treatment, but it was for mine. Also I have never been seen on time for ANY appointment that I have made despite always being on time for my appointment. Other people have come in late and they make such a big deal about them being late, but in all reality they weren't going to see them on time anyway so what's the big deal. I just think if my appointment is at 5:15 I should not be taken in at 5:50. Also when I have said something I was told, "Sorry but when I go to the Doctor's office sometimes I have to wait 3 hrs so sometimes you just have to wait." If you are looking to keep customers this really is not what you say to people. Why even make an appointment then? Also there is no discretion. While I am sitting in the waiting area they will ask multiple times to everyone waiting what they are there for. So now you know everyone's business, whose here for velashape, whose here for laser, whose here for a massage, etc. I just feel that there is no consideration for people's time or their privacy. I know I got a good deal on the treatment that I purchased, but I can get a similar deal elsewhere and be treated much better

Stay away from rude beachy russian woman !! They gonna hurt your skin! The woman who it's the owner is a extra lay rude and horrible person, they made my appointment and I called try to confirm bc I went there once and I have a bad feeling about them but I already paid, so I want make sure they are reasonable and everything is fine, but guess what....,,,.they said I'm going to cancel your appointment and don't come over or you have to pay one more time, and I'm so confuse in the mean time she already hang up my phone,horrible experience and I told myself, if this place that rude and unprofessional and I should get my skin for them to take care of and look here, I'm not the only one who feel this way !

In the beginning of May I took appointments to the Spa to redeem my coupon, for May 26, June 2 and June 9 at 8.30am. I mentioned to them that May 26 was Memorial day and they said they will be open. I went there today (Memorial's day) and 8.30am and they were closed for holiday!!!. I had postponed my trip out of town for the long weekend not to miss the appointment. I really feel insulted, big deal!!! Do not trust those pleople....please do not go there.

This place is great! a small cozy place. I went to get a Colonics and the technician was GREAT - believe her name is Nina (she works on Tuesday) I was very satisfied. I am super excited to go back for a few other services. Prices are awesome and the service is very good.

I went last week and didn't get the service I asked for as per the advice of the technician that worked there, she suggested something else and I was to come back today for another session. Well.... After confirming my appointment yesterday, I get a text message 25 minutes before my appointment time telling me the spa is closed. I had already taken a train, left work early, to come to this appointment. When I expressed my disappointment to the person who texted me, their reply was they called me several times yesterday to let me know that the spa was closed, mind you, I never received any voicemails saying anything like that, even if I did get a phone call, in which I did not, why wouldn't they have texted me yesterday like they did today to tell me this. Then they didn't even offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience. That is just all the way around poor service. I won't come back. I gave you two stars because the service was ok last week, but what an absolute fail in business practice. Unreal.

My friend & I decided to book a lash lift through Groupon and ran into Downtown City Spa. I naturally have long curled lashes, but I was looking for a dramatic look which I got before from a lash lift. Let me start off my saying it took forever to book an appointment, but after several calls they accommodated us with a Sun appt so we decided to give it a shot. I went in first... the girl who did the lash lift did seem friendly. Once she was done I did see a slight difference but not the dramatic results I was hoping for... My friend on the other hand had NO RESULTS whatsoever! The lady even noticed it herself and mentioned that she will bring it to the managers attention. We then left. By the time I got home, my lashes completely deflated! There were NO RESULTS at all. Highly disappointing! I took a picture and decided to reach out to them! After consulting another cosmetologist she explained that it most likely didn’t work because THEIR PRODUCTS ARE EXPIRED! Let me start by saying that their manager clearly needs to find another career choice! She has terrible customer service and is clearly not fit to run a business, she seems very money centered. I reached out to her explaining the huge inconvenience we had to go through... According to her the results were good and that I should just put on some mascara. A total joke! The reason for the lash lift lady was so I don’t have to put on mascara! She then continued to say that apparently I don’t believe the technician deserves a salary... do I not deserve to get what I paid for? After continuous back and forth with the greedy unprofessional manager, she then agrees to issue the refund. She says that I need to contact Groupon and then they will issue it. I called Groupon and they actually said the complete opposite, that the merchant needs to reach out. I messaged the manager to do so several times & she then decided to ignore my messages. I had to dispute the charges further due to the irresponsible manager. Disgusting customer service! Save yourself the trouble and the headache from dealing with this place. They clearly use expired products and try to take advantage of their clients. SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT GO HERE!!!
