Everything was fine up until I was rudely awaken at 6 AM because an employee and his supervisor violently took a blanket off of me. No explanation or excuses just pull it off of me while I was half asleep. Never again.

This is the place to go if you like SPA wet areas and Holistic quartz rooms

Very traditional Korean spa. Nude same sex baths, and all water activities. The other free ammedities, an a lot to choose from, is displayed throughout this huge day spa. Beautifully decorated, lots of greenery an the sound of water flowing throughout. Very, very hot saunas and cold sanaus too. Lunch was pricely decently and their freshly blended drinks were awesome.

Edu Taramona

Today I was there, it was amazing. I loved it.

L L

I only go during off hours. Relaxing as heck and you cant leave the place without doing the scrub. Food is pretty good too.

DO NOT GO THERE WITH AN EXPIRED GROUPON. The staff was un accommodating and told us that the Groupon for two people can only be used for one person since it's expired. They said that we can pay the difference of $45 if we wanted to use the Groupon for two people. We figured that it would be cheaper if we just brought another ticket on Groupon for $32 rather than paying the difference of $45. We we're forced to use the Groupon for two people on one person because they refused to give us $75 worth of what we paid for. The manager said that they are not responsible for Groupon and that Groupon only promotes their tickets. They said that once your Groupon expired technically they don't even have to service you at all. And that by allowing us to use the ticket for one person at least was being nice. It was $60 per person (full price) and we should have a extra $15 left since we paid 75. They refused to give us or credit us the difference of 15 dollars THAT WE PAID FOR. They even said on the Groupon that the value that we paid for does not expire!!! But they refused to give us our money worth. We didn't feel like arguing with the manager to cause a big scene so we just used our 75 dollar (suppose to be for 2) expired Groupon on ONE PERSON and paid for another Groupon for 1 person.and went into the spa. This was me and my friend first time going to a Korean spa so we weren't sure if we were allowed to wear a bathing suit inside the shower area. So we asked the lady that was working in the bath area if we can keep our bathing suit on since we weren't very comfortable with being naked around other people. The lady responded but we were we didn't understand what she was saying because of her thick Korean accent. So we asked her again and she was very rude and answering the second time but we still didn't understand what you were saying "oh my God I told you" they have various on is there which was really cool but the mats that were placed in the saunas for you to lay down or mostly dirty. There was various types of stains on there and we didn't feel comfortable using some of the mats. I have to say though, the floors were very clean I did not feel dirt or any type of debris on the floor (we walk around barefoot) the soap situation was unsanitary. They provide bar soap for you to clean your body but the bar soap is used by all the other people taking a shower as well. So that was a very clean. They provide cheap shampoo and conditioner for you to use if you want. They have various temperature baths to use which was very hot, hot, cold. They had a steam room in the bathing area but it was smelly in there. Overall I would say my first experience was okay in that the various types of saunas in the co-ed areas we're diverse and interesting but the hygiene definitely could use some more work. And their customer service was awful awful AWFUL!! I probably won't be back. We'll be looking for another Korean spa somewhere else. Customer service and Sanitation can make or break your business.

not very friendly upon arrival nor informative ss to how things go there. Unless you do something wrong! The they have alot to say!

Suhrob’s Steakhouse

everything is fine, but sleeping is uncomfortable here. At 6:30 am they will wake you up. at night except the steam room and jacuzzi nothing is all closed. better to come in the afternoon.

Sholom Ratinov

Nice staff gr8 service best spa ever

Matthew L. A. D. Mendoza

This place is actually pretty chill, so I'm not understanding the negative reviews and other stories. I'm a Latino, and haven't encountered any kind of racism at this place, and I haven't encountered ANY rude staff. The only issues is the language barrier AND the only annoying thing about this spa is the fact that they replaced the relaxing chairs in the men's wet area with some white prison style/elementary school style chairs that are beyond uncomfortable.

Jeremy Phipps

I want to rate this place low, so it doesn't become overpopulated. Leave me to my Zen!

Ed Baggar

Clean place and nice concept. The staff isn’t the friendliest. Get ready for some eye rolling and nasty attitude.

Recel Jovellanos

My favorite room was the ice sauna. The women's uniforms only came in Small or Large.

Saint Laurent

The reason I give 1 star is because of respect of others privacy. I understand that it is part of Korean culture to be naked in front of other. However, they do not respect that fact that not everyone wants to do that. I brought a swim underwear the other day and then a worker told me the manager said I had to leave the shower and spa. That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. Before I brought I put on my swim trunks on I checked the rules and there was nothing that stated I could not use them! I asked the workers why and they said because their manager said so.... Okay? But I want a legit reason, again if it is about culture I can sort of understand however, I am paying money so I should have the right to cover myself up! Please put a damn sign up before admissions about the stupidity of enforcing nudity!!!!! Just to clarify something I had really had no problems with the workers because they were doing their job, but, the problem was with the manager.

Georgette Gongora

Beautiful place. I love the space, luxury, the food, juices and smoothies sold in its restaurant and cafe. I love the gold Pyramid sauna. I think the lack of proper hygiene, however, is bizarre and unacceptable. Guests are supposed to walk with no shoes on, but workers don't. Though it's supposed to be a Korean 24 hour spa, one uniform and one towel only is provided to each guest. If more is needed there is an extra charge for it. There is many different, beautiful sauna rooms, that on the weekends are very crowded. As a matter of fact there was a line to get into one of them. Yet, the mats in each room are not changed. They are used by all. Though i love and enjoy beauty and luxury, i think good hygiene is priority. Hence i have no wish to go back.

Alla Gotovka

Ohhh can't live with that place. Traditional Korean sauna very relaxing. Thanks for my massage therapist May to help me.

AJC

Overall it's a very nice experience and they even had a raffle that day I was there. For the price charged per person, this place could provide liquid soap dispensers for the shower area instead of shared bar soaps:(. If I go next time, I will bring my own soap.

Sumil Sinha

I'd come here all day, every day. The place has exploded in popularity.

Cynthia L

This place is awesome. Make sure to walk around and get a feel of the place. We will definitely be back.

Lauren Nesi

Absolutely love place! It has been very crowded though recently.

Glitza Rojas-Gutierrez

they get three stars: pros- large common areas saunas are fairly clean variety of rooms cons- front staff is rude pricey, you tip extra for messages

J. An

Poor customer service, the employees are rude and don't like to be bothered. Sauna mats in various locations are dirty and doesn't seem to be cleaned often. Sanitation needs some work in bath areas and regarding mat sharing.

Aniko Magyar

King Spa & Sauna is a very relaxing environment with tons of amenities but don’t know nothing pool . Asian feels , limited English . I don’t like the separate women not dressed the seating in the floor or bear foot. You can get a great deal of the saunas . I would love to give this place 4 stars. This place is very nice designed ! However, I quickly got dressed and bounced out of the place. In short: Great place not for me .

Tony Sirota

Been here twice (sundays) and loved it each time. Staff doesn't feel too friendly but I think it's just the culture difference because the staff is very courteous, fast working and precise. The sauna unit variety is great, foot massages are awesome, the food is great, try the simple seaweed soup, its plain but delicious, also the baked eggs yummy. Very relaxing place

Hamilton Benji

The facility is great. One of the shuttle driver is very rude. The old one. Apparantly you are not allowed to talk in the phone during the ride. Noticed that he picks up people from Manhattan to drive them to NJ for 10 USD.

Rabeea Jabbar

Love this place. Their showers suck but other than that this place is the ultimate relaxation spot

Suriya Jayanti

Great venue, but much more expensive than other Korean Spas for no reason. For example, you don't get admission ($60) included with the price of services like massages, but it is included at other spas. You are also required to pay $25 in tip for a $65 90-minute massage . . . That's 39%, and for the low quality massage I received I would not have tipped more than $10.

Lindsay Griesbach

A wonderful experience overall ! Not sure where all the nasty negative comments from other reviewers are coming from because our experience was light, relaxed and calm. I am accustomed to Korean culture and I feel like everyone was kind and courteous. (Except one lady who was rushing me to order food) we came here on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy so that was nice, if a room is not open you can take a break or find another room. I didn’t find it annoying or inconvenient at all. In fact I highly recommend King Spa - it’s not the most luxurious spa but it’s clean and relaxing not commercialized or a place to take selfies all day like other NJ spas. I enjoyed the fact that no cells were allowed in most areas. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and the guests were courteous too! We’ll be back - Thanks King Spa it’s a day we won’t forget

Ariel Abdullah

My favorite spa for a body scrub and food. They have Groupon deals.

Jhonny Almeida

It's a really nice play to come and relax for the price. A decent cafeteria with a selection of Korean dishes is available. Good spacious common areas between the saunas commonly used as napping areas. Massage, skin treatments, and salon services are available. Free gym and valet are part of the premises as well. Every couple of months or so I visit this place.

Matthew Valentin

Just a pleasure to stay and eat and sleep and sweat and drink and sleep and eat. It's just heaven and peaceful. I just want to pay a membership and live here.

Fallo Turgidson

Parking is beyond impossible but I don't trust valet so I searched around until I found a legal space on the street nearby. The spa is on the smaller side but does the job of soothing the muscles and psyche. The pools are on the upper floor, the dry saunas are on lower floors. You start by going all the way upstairs to take off your street clothes, then go directly into the wet area to wash your body all over before going anywhere else. I don't understand the complaints that you're required to be nude in the wet area, how else can you wash your body clean? Nobody wants to bathe in the skid marks from your nasty underwear so wash that crack and bring only your clean body into the pools. Thank you in advance!

Debra Jackson

Everything was great except the nail shop

47725384

Had a good time. Victoria, one of the floor managers, helped me find my partner. She was a great host. Also the food was excellent and affordable. Had the Teriyaki beef. Spent 3 hours inside the Spa enjoying myself.

German Sanchez

Customer service deficient. First time there, I was completely lost.

Mackenzie Morton

Absolutely loved this place, what a fantastic experience. I used a groupon for entrance and thought it was a good value for the money spent (also received a free juice). I mean it’s a humongous spa that’s open 24/7. What is not to love? Already planning my second visit as soon as I got home from the first!

Clibber Shooter

Better than spa castle and island spa. The groupon is awesome and gets u a free juice, made completely fresh from fruit. And also get a free gold mask too. Everything on a weekday is very nice, not crowded. Parking is on the street or $4 valet. Edit: changed to 4 stars. Sleeping here is uncomfortable and I can’t imagine how bad it would be on a weekend. You’re not allowed to bring any sheets and the way they wash their sheets is questionable. My bf got his blanket in a wrapped bag and mine came folded. For the entire night I was so incredibly itchy. I moved to the chair next to me and ditched the blanket. There was no pillow here. So it was very uncomfortable. I went to the worker downstairs to ask for a blanket/pillow (like I saw a few other ppl had) but this worker was sleeping on the floor of the women’s locker room. So, feeling awkward, I went to front desk. The lady there was nice and called the woman sleeping on the floor to wake up. She was definitely cranky when she woke and gave me a different blanket, still folded. But did not give a pillow. I don’t know what she said completely but I do know what she wasn’t nice. This is your freaking job, and you’re supposed to be awake at this time anyway. Idc if you’re woken up. It’s expected. So I went to the front desk lady and she explained that ppl are not supposed to bring pillows and called to have them collected from others. I would probably avoid sleeping here next time. It seems a bit unclean too as you don’t know who was on the chair earlier in the day that you sleep on and you don’t know if they wash the covers of the chair. Also not comfortable. Also really wish they would tell you or there would be a sign saying they take away ur blanket and turn on the lights and TVs at 6:30am. Everyone is still sleeping at this time, so I don’t understand why this has to happen. They should feel terribly for waking up sleeping people. Overall sleeping here was not a good choice. Also they play music to wake you up. It seems like they just want you out as soon as possible, not even waiting till you’re done sleeping.

Tinia B

I've been her twice already. Once I had no idea what I was doing so the process was very confusing and I skipped alot. I went again with a friend who knew what to do and it was so much better. I think it may help to have a guide show you how to go through the pool and sauna rooms.

Legend Fire

We had a good time til we were going to leave and come back in a couple of hours. The workers were extremely rude. There are no rules not to leave the premises. Told us that we are supposed to pay to come back the full price.

Frankie MacGregor

Okay, this place is legit. Buy the Groupon to get in for a discounted rate. There is always a Groupon. When you go in, you give them your ID and they give you a bracelet with your locker key. That locker key is how you pay for extra services and food. Everything was very clean. My favorite was the cold sauna. Impressive place. The food was so-so but the dining room is very pretty. The outfits you have to wear are kind of weird but it helps that everyone is wearing them and looks just as weird as you do.

Sarah An

If you are a spa fan, you should visit this place. They have different type of the spa room in there even ice room. It could be good spa for family also. Their food cafeteria has a variety Koran healthy food choice. You can spend your day relaxing all day long!

Elizabeth Gressel

Unique experience! No direction or guide and most of the area descriptions are Korean with small English print, so you must be ready to explore two floors and three different areas all on your own! The spa was a gift so I spent $41; 1 lunch tray shared by two people, a $4 face cloth and an ice fruit dessert. Easy free shuttle on the hour from midtown West 31st right to the King Spa (no drinks or food allowed so I had to leave my $5 latte before boarding. Once you’re checked in, make sure to take a brochure detailing the name of all 9 hot saunas. Everyone gets a “uniform” (a one-size-fits-all t-shirt and shorts and a locker-room key.) There are no spa sandals so unless you buy the $2 socks everyone is barefoot. My friend and I changed into the uniforms and explored, first to the lounge to eat lunch. The portions were large enough to share. The building is quite large and a unique blend of hot saunas, 1 cold room, resting rooms, lots of spaces for quiet meditation or talking with friends. Lots of water stations but I still suggest carrying a water bottle around with you - you will sweat a lot! I was definitely dehydrated at the end of the day. Can’t wait to go back!

After groupon then the entrance fee is worth every penny. Fantastic way to unwind and relax. I fully enjoy body scrub/massage combo. Restaurant is good as well, if your in the Tri-state def visit.

Jennylee Marcelin

The Best Spa ever. They have everything and very high end! You can relax and indulge all day. Very clean. Very healthy. The restaurant is great! I recommend this place to everyone!

J Macho

from the front desk to the restaurant ALL THE "ASIAN" EMPLOYEES HAVE "A BIG ATTITUDE" crazy but is just the only asian employees "I DON'T KNOW WHY" and they should think that THANKS TO CUSTOMERS "THEY HAVE A JOB AND BUSINESSES"

Kate Lee

It is getting old in many ways. Needs a major overhaul, however they can't close for a long periods. Just band-aid repairs here and there which took place when I visited 2 weeks ago. Men has to go down where ladies bath place where ii was so filthy and no clean up at all. My boy friend said he wouldn't have come if he had known this mess.

Stacie J.

Got a great deal for 2 on Groupon. The place is very clean and cozy.

Kuixi He

When you first come in, you take off your shoes but you are not required to clean yourself before entering the spa area. That means everyone coming in has a baseline layer of dirt. After that you go in there and sweat it out on Mats that have likely been cleaned once a week. You can see the sweat marks on them. In fact I've been here about 6x over the last 5 years and it seems like they never wash the cloths on anything. But that's sort of how all Korean spas are. If you can get past that dirtiness then this place is fine. If you are a bit more squeamish about hygine than I would recommend you stay away. For that reason I give it 3 stars. If it were more hygienic, it would be a 4.5star place.

Kitkat 83

I loved it! Great atmosphere!

I’ve been to king spa a million times over the last few years. The place is awesome and has gotten pretty busy since it’s gotten so popular from Groupon. If you can go during a weekday- do it! Tuesday-Thursday are the best days. Make use of your money- stay for as long as possible!! It’s a 24 hour spa and your one time admittance is exactly for about 24 hours. The Korean cafeteria is amazing- great quality and one dish comes with a ton of small Korean dishes. In regards to the commenter claiming it’s unsanitary: completely false. It’s tradition to not wear shoes in typical Asian bathhouses. The workers shoes aren’t shoes that are used for outside. They are employees, not clients relaxing hence why they wear shoes. This is common in traditional Asian bathhouses. The saunas are open for both men and women but the changing areas are separated. In your appropriate changing area you’ll have a changing area and a showering area. In the female area there is an open bath (one cold and one warm) if you’re a bit insecure, maybe just enjoy the saunas as you are required to be completely nude for showering and bathing. But I promise you no one really cares. Just enjoy and have fun! It’s a great place for couples to enjoy even if you don’t indulge in a massage.

alise sanders

I don’t see anyone cleaning a damn thing and I been here for hours it’s not that clean if you ask me.

Sasha Rider

I went to this spa on Monday July 29, 2019. Today is Friday, and I am still extremely sick from going to this spa. Not only is it dirty, hair clumps in the water, hair all over the floor, etc. but both of my masseuses were coughing and sniffling all over me as if they were sick. I woke up the next day with a sore throat, constant fevers, and nonstop vomiting. My medical bill has exceeded what I spent at the spa due to negligence. This was my second time coming here and the cleanliness and customer service has greatly declined. I was yelled at publicly for having a little bit of soap left on my back when in reality this place could use some cleaning products. On another note, stay away from the sushi!!! Go somewhere else unless you want to get sick for a week, it is simply not worth it.

I wrote a very long review on Groupon about my horrible experience here. There is a character limit on Google so I will summarize. - Valet is $3. They don’t take card. They force you to pay to use the ATM. When I tried to leave (after only 30 minutes in the spa because it was so dirty I couldn’t stay any longer), and I paid, they chased after my car because they had given me the wrong change. - They have security checking bags. When there is a nice spa nearby like Island where there is no security like this (and also free self-parking) why would I choose King? - The reception area is tiny and dark, looks and feels like a cut rate motel. - THE SPA IS DIRTY. This is the key point. I was so disgusted. You can smell food from the cafe inside the women’s wet spa area. - The shampoo/conditioner/lotion products are cut rate brand (Equate). At Island, they provide high end Korean products. - They do not provide pump soap, only bar soap. Unhygienic. - Unlimited towels for men, but not for women. SERIOUSLY? NO THANKS. - Women in the mist sauna sit on the benches naked with NO TOWEL UNDERNEATH. This was the point at which I felt so disgusted I had to leave (in less than 30 mins of being there). - The wet spa area is tiny. Only 3 soaking tubs and one wet sauna. Island is bigger and impeccably clean. - There is no lockable locker for shoes, only a sign saying please leave shoes on open shelving. I saw many women wear outdoor shoes inside the locker room. That’s disgusting. I couldn’t even bring myself to check out the Jjimjilbang and cafe because the wet spa was so dirty and the food smell put me off. I will never return here and I don’t understand why so many people thing King is so great. What is this operation? I understand it’s an old spa, but please, AT LEAST update your cleaning/cleanliness processes. It’s so unacceptable. I am upset I wasted $43 on such a bad experience and I will never, ever return.

Lizette Crespo-Ruiz

Such a great place to sit back and relax. Wonderful atmosphere. I’ve been there many times.

Richard Seifert

Always a great time here. The sauna's give you a good sweat. The food is top notch. I recommend bugogi. Just a small warning. People walk around naked in the men's and women's locker rooms plus their private bathing areas.

Avsector

It can be a great place, but Staff is not friendly at all they would not welcome you or give you a tour upon your first visit. Place is not clean enough to force visitors to walk with bare foot. Floor mats got strong odor of sweat. Price is keep going up every 8 month. Now it's is definitely Overpriced place for its service.

Chintan Desai

Amazing place to spend a day and relax. No push to sell any extras and very helpful and courteous staff. Selection of different spa and sauna facilities based in one's preference. Restaurant is good with good selection.

Bá Quốc Lê

Terrible service, We have 2 people, they have 3 floors, I have to take 30 minutes to find the staff, I ask for 2 blankets for me and my friend, The staff was so mean say No, your friend has to be show up to get blanket. Therefore I have to be back my friend place and my friend has to looking for the staff one more time to get the blanket, so they really mean and waste our time. Also, when we ask for something, the staffs are not friendly like they are doing customers services, they are look like our parents yelling us. Never come back, never!!!!!!!!!

Klara Min

Don't ever go to the Nail/Skin care shop in the sauna. They have a separate owner so the salon is a separate sector, but the person called CHRISTI who did my facial was EXTREMELY rude and UNPROFESSIONAL. She started off by saying how awful my skin was so that she recommend their product. Obviously she was trying to sell out. I have been having facial since two decades, so I know who is good or not, and she was extremely unprofessional: She does not know how to touch others' skin first to begin with, misjudged my skin type, and put a wrong cream that my face started to have reaction very strongly. All she did felt like EXTREMELY CLUMSY, and most of all what bothered me the most was her ATTITUDE. I don't know what her background is but she shouldn't be there taking care of customers as CLEARLY her attitude was not set for "SERVICE" job. Their tips are based on their service attitude, and let's not even go there. She was basically just rude and she got defensive telling me that she is an expert. (A real expert never has to state that). She did not apologize at all, rather blatantly blamed everything on me. NEVER GO TO THIS SALON. They should ONLY serve KOREANS who understand what the h*** she was talking about. Well, she would've shut up with non-Koreans because she doesn't speak a word of English. Quite PATHETIC. EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT. They should know who they are hiring. We are in USA, not in a small country side in South Korea. She has zero idea what the serving attitude should be. EXTREMELY RUDE. Adopt the basic manner in this country, otherwise go back to Korea and have your own shop there! The customer care in Korea is extremely well tailored, so HER RUDE ATTITUDE will never survive.

Alsu Shaydullina

The personnel does the best massage I ever had, spotting your tight muscles without any questions. The variety of saunas is impressive, fresh food and very friendly staff. I will be back soon!

Victor Seunghwan Kim

Wish I could give no star, employees are poorly trained. Food is bad, and interior just look like its from 1950s. I was very confused that they provide blankets for their "valued" customers, yet was forced to give up my blankets while sleeping.

Carin Twitty

The spa of my heart. I've only been able to visit a few times with my best friend, but we've always enjoyed ourselves so much. The food is great and the staff is so helpful. I especially love staying the night on slow days and enjoying the peace.

Tim Prepscius

The baths are poorly designed in comparison to other bath houses. While the area of the main men's bath room could handle many people, the total who can fit comfortably in the two hot baths at any one time is 5. If they had used more of the floor space for the actual baths, it would be much nicer. Also, they didn't mention to me that I had to keep the bus ticket thing, and so the bus driver charged me for the ride back. That was pretty lame.

Bing Abad

Very relaxing and cozy place to spend time and catch up with friends

Brian Agostini

Beautiful spa just wish the people in the front desk were nicer. Over all exceeded my expectations cleanliness may be a small issue but I enjoyed every second I was there definately coming back again.

Stacey Gonzalez

So relaxing! Clean, spacious, had a great time! Food is good and not too costly

A Innocent

Be aware first timer they are free spirit they let it all out... I was confused at first then i got comfortable and wear my birthday suit.. I love it there. Don't worry Man and women separated.

Sylnetto Lucius

This was my first time going, we drove and valet was 3 dollars. We arrived at 12pm and left at 8:30pm. The customer service was great, the inside was clean and therapeutic, there was lots of saunas and hot tubs plenty of oversized recliners of which I took a 2 hour nap. Plenty of board games you could do while enjoying a relaxing day. The food was good lots of dishes to choose from. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit.

I have been recommending this place for six years to friends, colleagues and family from both New York and New Jersey. I’ve noted from 2017 onward, recent new bath houses emerging in the city, New Jersey and in Queens. I’ve always recommended this place for its cleanliness, relaxation and amenities. I am sad to say that I will never ever come back here. I have been spoken down to and disregarded by their staff multiple times. The admissions fee has almost doubled and their hours have shortened. This is no longer a 24 hour spa. There is no admission from 3:00 am to 6:00 am, and there is an over night fee. I have come here almost every Saturday morning the past four months and was just turned away and told this has always been the way policy. You are much better off going to a Facility like sojo spa because this place is a rip, they’re disrespectful to customers and don’t appreciate good business. This place sucks.

Lunique Menard

The worst spa I have been to. It’s unkept, not much choices of food. And right where you buying food the staff is standing there eating their food. I bring my bathing suit which I couldn’t wear and it was not stated online. Smh. My husband and I Walk in there and we were out in less than 1 hour. Do not waste your money you might as well stay home and relax.

E S

Loved being here. It was relaxing. There's so many rooms to visit from steam to mineral salt, there's something for everyone. The food and ice cream were good too. You can even spend the night which I did. You can get a blanket from a staff person. I'd go here again.

Laura Magruder Dugan

Nice clean controlled environment - mostly quiet, but even when lively I've never experienced it over the top. If you want a place where you can sit wrong on a chair, with your legs hanging off or hog the sofa, this is it. The place is filled with different places to lounge, loll, read, have a game of go or chess, or study for that exam. There are many saunas from infrared to mineral salt to mid to ice to brick to gem to one so hot they stand back 3 feet and open the door with a rope (they bake eggs inside this one! But I assure you, I've seen people come out again unscathed after entering...!) Spas are gender separated, and there two "resting rooms" designated male or female, the rest of areas are unisex. There are, many additional services available (I'm too cheap, have never tried) but I assure you just the getaway from the bustle is worth it. Scout your place to sleep early, maybe bring your own big towel for a short of blanket, but the climate is so well controlled you might find you're comfortable even without any cover. Make sure your device is charged, there are charging stations with locks but few outlets so plan accordingly. Great food, perfect for a getaway.

Im just going to move in, I had a great time!

Elodie Herelle

I love the place in itself. I have been going there several times since I discovered it last year, each time I stayed 24h and ate delicious meals at the restaurant, got some body care (massages, scrubs), used the different saunas and most of all the lounge rooms. I go there to relax. Before yesterday, I never had a problem. You can stay overnight and sleep in the lounge room. Last night, while I was sleeping, a spa employee woke me up to get me out of the room as someone complained I was snoring. It was very rude and abrupt!! There were other people snoring! Then he directed me to another spot where other people were on lounge chairs sleeping. Pretty much the same type of space I was already in, except open. When I said I didn’t want to be there (These chairs were less comfortable), he directed to the restaurant sofas and chairs (even less comfortable)! So I ended up not sleeping for the entire night. When I explained to the front desk lady when paying my bill she laughed and said it’s the first time she heard that. But she understood it!!!! I usually love going there mostly to enjoy the lounge rooms. It’s such a sweet escape from the city! I even recommended it to a few friends. But now, I fear being kicked out if I fall asleep in a lounge room and - god forbid - snor. This time I just stayed up and waited for the 1st shuttle for 6 hours (I stayed 9 hours total). Didn’t want to get one more remark about my snoring anywhere in that spa!! (Even if other people were snoring) I’m so disappointed and bitter. Not only by the treatment I received but by mostly by the fact that I really liked that spa. And now this last experience was stressful and not at all the relaxation I was hoping for. They ruined it! This place is good for you if you don’t Snor... smh

Carolyn Brown

I love this place by far the best spa in town

Raquel Ramos- Rivera

A casual relaxing place. Food is always great.

First timer!!! Went with girlfriend of mine, and she gave me the run down if what to expect. I overall IMMENSLY enjoyed and would stay alot longer next time. This place is not for the shy and timid. The ultimate relaxation, woukd recommend others to try.

I got a groupon offer of $70 for 2 people, which wasn't a bad of a deal. The women at the reception desk seemed annoyed for no reason and were not helpful at all. When I tried to repeat a question because I couldn't understand clearly what she was saying (the accent confused me) she got upset, plus she didn't offer a guide as to how the whole place worked. The whole place inside is really nice and quiet, which gives the tranquility one might be looking for. It has many sauna rooms, a bar, lounge rooms, a restaurant (that was closed at the time we checked in so I cannot comment on the food) The overall of the place was nice. At check out we were charged $20 for checking out after 2am, which didn't make sense to me since they say the price for the admission is for 24hours. Anyway. This place might be well worth it if you can really spend a lot of time in it.

The one and only King Spa! This is a traditional style Korean spa and is a bit different than what most Americans expect in a spa experience. There is no modern day "aesthetic" here, only stone, wood, and pink everywhere. The hot tubs and cold showers in the wet spa area is perfect to relieve muscle tension and take a break from life. The cafeteria provides excellent food and the addition of a sushi bar is a happy delight for someone like me! The types of sauna rooms are small, require crouching to get into, and have their own theme. If you go to spas and saunas for the look ONLY, this place isn't for you. All the hot saunas here are intense and not for newbies. Also no pillows here, only wooden headlock rests (again, it is a Korean style theme here). I want to add a disclaimer here for non Korean individuals who come here. I have witnessed many Latina and African American individuals get treated differently here by the older Korean staff. Not all the staff are like this, but the ladies at reception can be abrasive for no reason to certain guests. Staff should try to do a better job at treating EVERYONE cordially. Guests should be aware this NOT an American spa and there is a certain culture around Korean spas that are inherently different from what most are used to. Do your research before coming and have a good time.

Best spa for the money in the tri-state area. Look for deals online. Not a luxury spa like Sojo nearby but it has a very relaxing feel to it. Lots of plants, crystals, and splendid little architecture. I always come out feeling refreshed. The men’s steam room and jacuzzi area is my least favorite part. It’s not the cleanest and there tends to be a creep there each time. I would like to see more employee involvement there. Asking people to take showers before entering and someone coming in often to quietly change the towels which may deter the creeps. Nonetheless, spending a whole afternoon here is a treat. The food choices are truly authentic, delicious Korean food. Try the browned eggs they bake in the hottest sauna. I love any of their platters. They each are enough for two people.

Natasha Figueroa

Always a dream come true for any spa seeker who is looking for a sanctuary of rejuvenation and comfort. I refuse to enter another spa as none will match this place!

you dont want to support a business thats run by bad people.

Huge Spa! So much to offer. Some areas could use some updating though.

Today was my second visit to King Spa. The first time l came it was 2 weeks ago during the work week and middle of the day. What l enjoyed about this visit was there were hardly any other patrons and it seemed as if l had the entire place to myself. I experienced the traditional Korean scrub with wet massage and it was relaxing, invigorating, and inexpensive. This visit would have been breathtaking if it weren't for my experience during check out. Shawn Rhee was rude, abrasive, and spoke in the nastiest tone of voice. I shrugged it off as maybe he was having a bad day (we all have been there) Today l had two friends visit the spa with me, one from out of town. We arrived Saturday around 8pm. Unlike my experience during the week it was reasonably crowded giving the time of day and day of week. The differences this visit was the process when obtaining food was disorganized. My friend was giving the incorrect food and when she addressed the staff, she was spoken to as if she was lying about the mix up and the staff member blatantly accused her of lying. As we were leaving we were greeted by none other than Shawn Rhee. Like clockwork he was rude, abrasive, and spoke in a nasty tone. When my friend addressed him he did not acknowledge or offer an apology. I asked for the Manager to be contacted. Promptly Hang Soo Kim approached me and when l expressed my concerns regarding Shawn's lack of professionalism and customer service. He stared at me in a manner that suggests, I've heard this multiple times regarding Shawn, but what do you expect me to do? I stated l would like an apology from Shawn, and without hesitation Shawn said I'm sorry. He immediately said l guess l should go back to elementary school. I asked Shawn what are you sorry for and he said I don't know. Anyone with an ounce of sense understands you come to places like this to escape and release stress. To have your customers be greeted by this individual at the end changes the entire mood of the experience. I recommend removing Shaun Rhee from the counter and give him a role that is non customer facing.

Sondom sherpa

Its a great spot to relax. Interiors are beautifully designed. They have designed every spot in a unique way. Food was delicious. Definitely will be back. Me and my sisters had a wonderful time here.

Dexter Desouza

The saunas are good but most things like the seating and entire approach feel outdated. Maybe they're going for a simple motif and they want to be not modern but it feels like I'm back in my country of Guyana.

Ashley Troost

I've been going to King spa for over two years now. The environment and atmosphere is very relaxing. There are many different types of saunas to relax in. The food is very delicious with a good selection of Korean food and sushi. The place is kept very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Heather Cavanaugh

This was my first time here, but I'm not sure I will return. I usually go to Spa Castle, and while that place isn't perfect, I think it is better than King Spa. King Spa does have more services and less crowds, (and almost no kids) but has less amenities (less tubs, no outdoor pools) and is dated. I had a Groupon, and booked a body scrub and wet massage. I didn't have any issue with the service, however, I was not satisfied with the checkout process. They tack on a "tip" fee for the service which is supposed to be suggested, but in reality, they pressure you to pay that amount. The tip is astronomical. (eg. $35 tip for an $85 massage? that's almost 40%! Not even my wedding vendors asked for such a high tip!) I asked to pay $17 (20%). When I pointed out that is 20%, I proceeded to get lectured on how they don't tip by percentage.....then by what? Tips are based on percentages, that's how tips work! Otherwise, it's a fee. And who knows if this "tip" is really going to the masseuses. If you are so deadset on charging an extra $35, then just charge $120 for the service and say tip is included! It seems like they are trying to compete with the other spas on price, but doing it in a bait and switch manner. I never go through this at Spa Castle: They ask me how much I would like to tip, I tell them the amount, and they put it in the register! That's it: no fuss, no nonsense, no lectures, no bait and switch! If it wasn't for the tipping, I would return. but I think I'll stick with Spa Castle.

Amazing! The only uncomfortable thing is being naked in front of other women but you get use to it as this is an Korean culture. Baked Eggs were great and food was delicious.

ChatWithAsh

Such a big place! I have been to many saunas and I think this was the biggest sauna I have been to! King Sauna has many levels and they even have a level where you can do the computer! The food is really good too, but the price is really expensive.. If they can lower the price, I would give the place five stars. But in summary, the place is great and is a good place for some relaxation!

Janes Gregoire

Amazing amenities and spa facilities. Will be back!

amorphose

Horrible customer service. They charged my dad who went there for their "quit smoking" program and they made fun of his appearance until he felt so uncomfortable, he left before receiving any services and they refused to refund him.

Esther Pena

I've been here twice and the food is decent. The saunas are nice enough. They vary from cold to steamy to one room that's so hot your skin feels like it's melting. Unfortunately, I don't recommend the nail salon because it's overpriced and very rushed. Save your nail money and go elsewhere for that service. By the way, it's funner to go with friends!

Hartmut Ott

Great spa and sauna place. Great food as well (korean). You can go there the entire day or stay even overnight if you want to.

Woody Hongsuk Choi

It used to be one of the best places to relax in northern NJ. But unfortunately, it became very crowded and their prices went up so much. If the price went up, the quality of the service and appearance have to be upgraded, but it remains the same. Some of the customers smoke cigarettes outside the building with bare feet. Then they just go right back into the bath tube with their dirty feet. I go there to get myself clean and enjoy the atmosphere, not to dunk my body with these people putting their dirty feet in bath tube. If they can't manage these people, I don't see the point of going there no more. Especially not at that price.

Lucy Wang

If I can give it a zero I would. I was on a overnight flight delayed and it is at 4am thinking I can come in and have a good rest before I head back to my connecting flight. The door man told me they do not allow check in between 3am to 6am. I told them I didn't see such notice on group on and he rudely point to the notice stick on their door and closed the door. My phone was about to die and I knocked on the door to ask if I can just wait inside the lobby until it is time to check in and charge my phone as without it I can't call lyft or go anywhere. He said No and closed the door. Leaving a girl on the street at 4:30 in the morning. I don't care how great of a place this is, and I will NOT come back

Becca Kobal

The staff is very nice and I had an awesome time. Unfortunately I experienced a seizure while in the hot tub staff was very concerned and nice. Just be careful and dont ignore the signs like I did thinking oh ill be fine. If you take any medication I highly suggest you consult with your doctor before going into the spa.

Anna Chan

Traditional Korean spa with 10 different saunas and 6 different soaking (naked) baths for women. The body scrub + wet massage was phenomenal! Alkaline water all around the spa. Sushi was decent. Didn't try the Korean menu but all the locals were eating so I can only assume its good. You only get one bath towel and one sweat towel so use wisely.

Mandy Aka Amanda Simmonds

Omgggggggg truly a wonderful experience i highly recommend this place i will be going back with friends and family as well I was in heaven from the moment i checked in till i checked out. I pushed my self to go and i am so glad i did it was a mind blowing epic experience it will definitely leave a life long impact i kinda want to keep this place to myself but that wouldn't be fair so go enjoy yourself.

Tasha Jones

I really enjoyed all of my services.

Levi Portillo

Lit af. Check their packages for deals but you can build a nice retreat for yourself if you pay for the extras singularly (ex. Massages range from 35-50$). Food is bomb.

JeAnetta Morgan

I loved it 100000000% we are most definitely coming back. The body scrubs are absolutely great. You will feel like a grown new baby lol

Brianne Sousa

Very cool and very different place. Never been to a spa like this. I enjoyed it very much. Such a relaxing day

Nancy Ceus

Food is good. Very refreshing and relaxing

Diana P. Gil

Went today with my friend. Spent 6 hours there, food is good, not a fan of the smoothie that I had they use syrup instead of sugar, overall very clean, many saunas and resting areas.. staff extremely friendly specially Victoria. Valet is only $3. Looking forward to my next visit. They offer many services.

Rita S

The to place relax and enjoy food and massages

Ben Rakov

Staff is rude. They don’t treat you as a customer. Should revisit all their “regulations”. Checkout Russian Banya instead: there are 3 in NJ and a couple more in NY.

Avril L'Mour Weathers

It's just a wonderful experience!

Blan Haile

If you are a spa fan, you should visit this place. They have different type of the spa room in there even ice room. It could be good spa for family also. Their food cafeteria has a variety Koran healthy food choice. You can relaxing all day long! Or night they’re open 24hrs. The reason I gave 4 start is the customer service is not that good and the staff doesn’t speak English and no one to show you around you kind of have to find out by yourself.

Oleksii Volynskyi

A good place to relax! It is best to come here in the middle of the week and in the morning. Feel wonderful after the visit. The best choice is order online, because the price decreases from $ 60 to $ 39

abcdee reijgfhd

Was ok inside but too expensive to stay overnight. 60 bucks. What in the world should it be that expensive?

Susan Noh

Awfully disappointed. Facility was great, but then staffs are so rude (I speak Korean) and has lots to say in the back. I got blankets and somebody was trying to take them away from me at 6:30am while I was still asleep. I said I’m cold, then the worker said “you should have been told that we will collect the blankets at 6:30am”. It was very weird and impolite situation.. imagine someone taking blankets away from you when you’re asleep. They don’t respect whether you are asleep or not, they will still turn all the lights on even if it’s sleeping area. Bathtub water was nasty.. probably because there were lots of people. I will just continue visiting Island Spa and Sauna.... much cleaner, more respectful, more relaxing.. my point to visit there was to relax... not to have people constantly being rude to me... one good thing was the Hanjeungmak where you can sweat within 5 minutes, but that’s it! This is no place to relax!!

Danny Kim

My review : Actually SPA water here for men was very smelly and not clean at all and steam sauna inside had very bad smell too. I hated it and steam was not working perfectly so I left early. They need to clean up professionally as they charged 50 USD for entry. Also food was terrible quality for the price. Only good thing was foot massage but I did not go here for foor massage.

Sniper boy 34

This place is like no other, it's very much worth the drive from CT. You have everything you need right there, juice bar, restaurant, many many different saunas to chose from. The wet scrub and wet massage are great and it's open 24hrs.

Carmyn Robey

I love this place. It's the perfect affordable getaway that will make you frrk like you actually left Jersey. Over the years it's become more popular and crowded, however it's still a favorite option. I go here sometimes in the morning and stay overnight. I've even hosted a slumber party with my girlfriends fir my bday herr before.

Susan Torreg

This used to be a really great spa but things have gone downhill quickly. Starting with the management they are so incredibly rude. I decided to sleep there one night and after they shut the lights and gave out blankets they woke everyone up an hour later with the vacuuming crew and told everyone that they needed to get up and go sleep someplace else so they could clean for customers for tomorrow. They always seem to have an attitude. Other than that the restaurant is good, massages and services are overpriced. And the bats especially the women’s area is not clean anymore this hair is in the pool areas and inside the hot tubs by clumps . Really gross.

Ting-Hsin Wang

Good place to relax in cold weather. Be sure to try the body scribe and wet massage. It is definitely worth it.

Megi Nevins

I went to King Spa & Sauna with friends. We stayed for 6 hours. It was an awesome experience. We got 5 star body scrub and a wet massage. It is so relaxing. Family friendly. You Definitely should try out this place.

Chivonne

Great options of saunas, steam rooms and spa services. Customer service was a lil rough at first but got a little better. We definitely needed more time to explore the options. Will go back to see more.

Susan diaz desantis

I'm giving them 2 stars I enjoyed the saunas. Place is packed and people are on their phones/computer. If I go to a SPA is to relax and disconnect. I didn't like the fact that i was not able to wear flip flops not even when using the restroom, Yuck didn't like that. The sauna were clean so was the jacuzzi. If I were to go back not sure that I would after going to SoJo Spa I would go early in the day when it's not that crowded. Honestly I prefer SoJo Spa.

Piritmwa Kuptong

Ultimate spa experience

Jessica Santonato

Best place to sleep at if you’re traveling through town! Spent 20 hours here and could’ve easily spent at least another 10! Not sure if I’d go during weekends as the week day was already busy for my liking. Pros: Spa was kept super clean Food was delicious I always had a lounger to sleep in Found free parking again (bonus) Cons: The only thing I don’t care for are chlorinated pools in general, so I couldn’t enjoy the baths here. You’ve been warned: 1. Staff will wake you up at 6am to clean and you have to move somewhere else while half asleep 2. Full nudity is MANDATORY in respective gender shower/pool areas 3. Korean culture is different when it comes to friendliness, so don’t expect much from staff. Will totally be back!! AMAZING PLACE!!

Divante Santiago

I have been coming here for 4 years and never had any issues but recently I been staying over night and waking up with bites on my legs . This happens to be the second time I sleep there and get bite. I slept in the same area as last time just a different chair and the same marks are appearing on my legs.

S. MacDonald

Fun! Very relaxing venue! Crowded though!

Nikita Samusev

The shuttle from and to manhattan on saturdays is full. Couldn't get on the shuttle at 10:30am and had to wait until 12pm in dunkin donuts. Then at 9pm the last shuttle left 5 minutes early. So had to either walk back to manhattan or take a $60 uber. I guess they don't like people from manhattan since they cut the number of shuttles. And they really don't care and act like you owe them something. And if you live in flushing - why would you go to them when there is a huge spa castle right in your neighborhood.

Luxe Consignment

Came all the way from Massachusetts to relax overnight, we even brought our own blankets, but we were asked not to use them because they provide them blankets! However as we went to sleep around 2, they Practically ripped those blankets off of us as we were still asleep at 6:30!!!! This is BARBARIC!!!! Absolutely not acceptable!!!!! The worst feeling ever! Who does that???!!!!!! We came all this way to relax, not to be disturbed and be on your schedule!!!!!!!!! Unless this changes, we are never ever coming back!!!!

Sue Cygon

I have been here twice and loved it both times. I tried Island Spa and could not understand how that place has better Reviews. Do not go to Island, spend your money at King Spa. King facility is exceptionally clean, quiet, peaceful, serene and worth every cent. You can Spa, Bath, Sauna, Nap, Eat, Nap and do it all over again. My 2nd time I went I got a Body Scrub as well and let me tell you :) :) :) Hope that says enough about it

Alfreda Davis

Oh my gosh!! The foot massage was so great it put me to sleep. Beautiful atmosphere, all I can say is when in NJ make sure you go.

Terry Kan

I have spent a most relaxed day here. Highly recommend it if spa is your thing.

Hasani Lewis

Very relaxing environment & great food.

Jae Yu

Always nice. Excellent service.

Myrrah Grey

This place relaxes me and feeds me and entertains me. A home away from home all in one building. I can't complain. I love the food and service. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean. Best to spend 3-5 hours here for a full experience. Go on weekdays for a less crowded field.

William Caraway

cannot wait to go back. Love this spa.

Marianne Asonto

Make sure you check groupon first for a cheaper price than the regular admission at the door. This place is my getaway to relax. Kings has three levels of different types of saunas. They also offer many lounging areas. It’s 24 hour spa and offers valet parking. I advise you to do valet cause it’s hard to find parking in the area. They also have a restaurant and juice bar in the premises. Just an FYI your phone service won’t work in certain parts of the place so better to leave your phone in one of the charging areas or in your locker.

Jim MONTESANO

Was given 2 entry tickets as a gift from a friend. Went on Wednesday around 12. The spa is very clean. Water and steam area was great. Men and women only sections for water section. Didn't spend any time on 2nd floor spa rooms except had lunch which was very good.

Tavia Lowman

The restaurant rocks! Always clean and well appointed. The staff is lovely.

M C H

Less and less place for relaxation...

Claudia Zhao

Very interesting experience. We did a birthday celebration with some girl friends there. Def adventurous

Physalia Cassiopeia

My favorite place! Clean place where I can relax. Get rid of impurities by sweating a lot in different saunas, most of them dry + steam, cold. Hot or cold jacuzzi type of tubs, sleep, rejuvenate and re-energize from the day to day chores.

Yehiel Denci

Let me start with the attitude of the staff and how not clean this place has I came with my brother I was told he cannot go in because a reason they can't explain maybe he was overweight I would never go back there go to SoJO much better cleaner and nicer

Aimira Sevimli

Great place to go with your loved one! Very quiet and romantic atmosphere. We really enjoyed all the rooms! Especially the Base Rick Room ($5 extra) which is patented by Mr. Ono which is exclusive only to Japan, Chicago, and Dallas, not even available to South Korea. The ground is made of stones good for walking on and relieving the stress that has built up. However, the main attraction is the Mineral stone imported from Japan called Siraka, that is said to have amazing healing abilities. I would also recommend their Body Scrubs! You really are going to enjoy it! And Wormwood Steam Sitz for women. These sits are super beneficiary for your body and feminine health. The food is SUPER DELICIOUS! I always eat at King Spa&Sauna! At all of their locations! You can also treat yourself to a massage or facial. Definitely recommend this place!

Furkan Sozen

Great facilities. The golden pyramid sauna is great for beginners or anyone that doesn't want anything too harsh. My favorite sauna was the one that has an employee opening the door for people. I forgot the name but it is a scorching hot sauna that'll get you sweating in minutes. Place was generally clean, some pillows seemed like they haven't been cleaned in a while. One con was the aromatherapy room has no door and is on the same floor as the restaurant so you mostly just smell food in there and in the sauna on the same floor.

Karson Yan

Needs a face-lift but still the best place to relax and unwind.

Tomomi Ohta

Absolutely highly recommended! There are bathing area, so many different kinds of saunas, resting rooms with nice couches, restaurants, chess and go area, computer area etc. So relaxing. I didn't get any massages or nail salon since it was extra cost, but I would love to try in the future.

Laurette Hamilton

Dear Reader get ready to sip some Hot Tea

elena cruz

The place is very clean. 90 minutes full body scrub massages let you feel as a reborn.a feet massage is strong, deep and just great! I try to visit that place every three months. Just you have to know you will spend there at least six hours

劉昕和

The place to go for people want to chill for a whole day. Extremely chill, in fact

Sebastian Adler

So relaxing. Russian ones are better though. I would advise men and women make a plan to meet somewhere since place is sprawling. There is a free shuttle bus from K town in the City which makes it convenient. You can also actually live in this spa since it is 24 hours.
