I did not have any recommendations from my doctor on which facility to use. I checked websites to read what I could and chose Atlantis Plastic Surgery and am extremely glad I did. The staff was informative about all steps to be taken and I trusted them implicitly. The surgery went very well and I went home immediately after. The pain meds were not used, I was able to take Tylenol....I've never been able to do that before! The healing process went smoothly and I am extremely happy with the results. I want to thank the whole staff for their help and care. I especially want to thank Dee for being there along the way and giving me the weekend phone call to check on me. I had rhinoplasty to restore my nose back to its original form. It was moderately disfigured inside and out, due to repeated damage as a child. At my consultation, Dr. Grey took the time to discuss what I could realistically expect for results. I had previously had FOUR other consultations at other surgeon's offices. Despite having to drop consultation fees at each office, it was important to me to see the right doctor. I was impressed with Dr. Gray's proposed technique, as it would be far less invasive than what the other doctors were suggesting, but with the same (if not better) results. I can't argue with the reviews on here that Dr. Grey is not "Mr. Personality", but I was looking for a skilled surgeon, not a best friend. He tells his patients straight up what to expect, and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Personally, I very much appreciate his blunt manner because it better prepared me for the procedure and results. The staff at APS is incredibly warm and friendly!! I had to hold back from giving them hugs, because that would have just been awkward, lol. But they are seriously just so sweet! My procedure went very well. The discomfort was very manageable with only the use of Tylenol with codeine. The staff stayed in touch with me after I went home to make sure that everything was still going well during my first week of recovery. When I returned to the office to get my nose brace off, the staff took the time to slowly and very gently remove my stitches. Then they helped clean out the dried blood inside of my nose to make me more comfortable. It wasn't necessary, as I could've done that myself at home, and it was super gross, but they took the time to help me, anyway. I had some concerns about some indentations around my nostrils where there had been some internal incisions against the edges, but I was reassured that the indentations were only there because of the residual swelling. I truly hoped that I wasn't going to permanently look like I had notches in my nostrils, because I didn't feel like that was a good trade-up. Sure enough, after my second week of recovery, the indentations started to fade. I'm 6 weeks post-op right now, and I'm very happy with the results! Although I can expect even better results over the coming months after all of the swelling has dissipated, I'd be totally fine if my nose stayed the way it is right now forever. It looks that good 6 weeks post-op! The results are better than what other surgeons told me could be achieved! I would totally recommend Atlantic Plastic Surgery!

The staff here is very kind. The place is updated and clean. Dr. Grey has been in practice for decades, and is a skilled surgeon. He is not very social and at times I felt we could have communicated more over the details. I've read reviews where people said they felt rushed and not listened to. So I think if you want that added care and safety net of a surgeon who goes over every last detail, he's not the one, but he does know what he's doing and you can trust his recommendations and he will give you a good end product. I think he could build more on his rapport building skills but he's overall kind and my rhinoplasty came out superb.

I wish I could give 0 stars. If you're considering Atlantic Plastic Surgery for a breast augmentation with Dr. Gray - don't do it. I came here for a breast augmentation in May 2016. I was unhappy with the results, but Dr. Gray stated I needed to wait a full year until a revision. So I did. In September 2017 I went to him for a procedure to fix the initial surgery (he had used the incorrect type of sutures, so my scars were severely stretched out). For this procedure he basically recut where the original incisions were, then re-sutured it. Following their post-surgery care instructions, I did not remove the surgical tape around the sutures. I also had sutures that were protruding out of my skin. Per their instructions, I tried to remove these stray stitches. This lead to a severe case of cellulitis (severe skin infection) that almost rotted a hole in my breast. I now have deformed scarring around both nipples and their team was unable to help. Honestly, I taken so long to write this because I was traumatized by the whole situation and now need to get a full reconstruction because he did not properly place the implants either (I've seen several other plastic surgeons since for consultations and confirmation of this).

I went in as a referral from my PCP and a Dermatologist due to a growth on my scalp. The growth had increased in size significantly and looked very troublesome. I was seen by Dr. Claytor and his wonderful assistant, Robin. The initial meeting was rough. I was upset and Dr. Claytor is very practical and matter of fact.....part of what makes him such a great surgeon. The day I arrived for my procedure, both Dr. Claytor and Robin were so fantastic. They showed concern for how I was feeling, eased my nerves, and Dr. Claytor even had Robin go into the operating room with me to hold my hand during the surgery since I had to be awake. They talked to me, asked me questions about my life, told me jokes....anything they could do to take my mind off of what was happening around me and to me. The team at APS was great! Now I am hoping for good results on the pathology!

This tells me a lot of how Dr. Gray treats his staff and patience. I know this means a lot to me. Worst consultation I've had. I did not get any specific information and was very rushed through and Dr. Gray was too busy to talk to me and kept getting pulled in other directions. They wanted me to book the surgery without knowing any details of the type and size of implants as well as what type of lift they were going to do. I guess the Dr decides himself what he wants and doesn't bother to tell me or explain to me....NOT OKAY. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Horrible experience!

Dr. Gray is a jerk with no bedside manner. He did my breast augmentation several years ago and it was an absolute nightmare. I was told at my consultation that I would not need a lift. After the surgery my breasts looked odd. He kept telling me to give it time. At 4 months post op, the left one was still really high & they both looked strange. That is when he told me I needed a lift. So, I had the lift preformed and a pocket revision on the left. After that surgery I was heavily bruised from my collar bone to the bottom of my rib cage. My left nipple was completely numb and had no color to it at all, it was a very pale grayish color. I noticed this when I got home so I immediately called the office and was told that was normal & it was just bruising. When I told them I didn't have any bruising after the initial augmentation, they told me there was a lot more cutting involved with the lift. I was so bruised that it looked like I had been hit by a car or beaten. I went back to see him a couple days after surgery because I now had drainage coming from the left incision (around the areola). There was a infection. And he took a really long thin needle & stuck it in my left nipple to make sure there was still blood flow. It did bleed right away which meant there was blood flow but I was told that there was a good chance I would lose my left nipple. I was terrified. He prescribed an antibiotic for the infection and sent me on my way. He was very cold & accused me of not following post op instructions. I worked in the medical field so I followed his instructions to the letter. The antibiotic he prescribed was very mild and my infection was getting worse. I kept calling them & they would tell me everything was normal & the antibiotic would work. Then the incision completely opened up! All around my areola was an open wound. I called them immediately. I went in & he said I was just going to have to let it heal on it's own and gave me a prescription for sterile saline to do a dressing called saline wet to dry and gave me a different antibiotic that was still in the same class as the first one. I asked him to culture the wound so we would know what bacteria was causing the infection & could use the right antibiotic. He got angry & snapped at me that he knew what he was doing & that culturing it was unnecessary. I made an appointment with my primary care physician because Dr. Gray was not helping at all. My PCP immediately cultured the wound, referred me to 2 other Plastic surgeons for 2nd opinions and she referred me to a wound care Center. The culture came back & it was a bacteria that was completely resistant to the antibiotics Dr Gray gave me and it was a bacteria that is only found in operating rooms that are not properly cleaned. The correct antibiotic was a heavy dose of Cipro that I had to take for a month. My doctor & every doctor I had to see was outraged by what happened. The 2 plastic surgeons said I did have to let it heal on it's own because you can't surgically close an infected wound but they also said he should have cultured it. They said once it healed, they could do a scar revision but it would take at least 2 surgeries to remove all the scarring. The wound care specialist said the dressing he had me do, the saline wet to dry (which was also very painful because the gauze goes on wet but when you take it off it is dry & dried to the wound do so you had to rip it off & it bled every time) was not helping it heal & was actually making it worse by rippling off healthy tissue. The wound care specialist prescribed a saline hydro-gel and told me to eat a healthy diet with a lot of fruit, vegetables & protein and to take vitamins. He said if it still didn't start to heal we would do hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I went back to see Dr. Gray 1 more time after that to tell him about all the other doctors and what they had done & said. He was livid!!! He said I never should have gone to other doctors and I was just impatient. He also insisted that this was in no way his fault & that I did something to cause the infection.

The first 48 hours after surgery was the worst but just as Dr. Grey explained the pain subsided soon after - I was back to work in just a week! I hadn't been to APS in about 10 years. Living in Boston, I thought I'd stick to the Big City but my daughter convinced me to come back here for Fraxcel so she could monitor my progress. The place hadn't changed a bit but, now 10 - 15 years later, the waiting room is getting seedy and the same old pictures are hanging on the walls. My treatment was actually done in what appeared to be a stockroom filled with unused exam chairs and devices. My recommendation is that the practice principals put some of the profits from their highly over-inflated charges and income profits and perform a "face lift" on this business. I'll stick with Boston.

I have been through an arm lift (By Dr. Gray) and post Mastectomy breast implants by Dr. Harrington. The first surgery was done in their surgery room and the second at York Hospital, Maine. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and no question is EVER off limits or discouraged. I highly recommend both of them. Dr. Harrington, although relatively new to the practice has been one of the best doctors I have ever used. As a surgeon, she actually makes my all time high (And I have had over 6 cosmetic surgeries and over 10 surgeries all together.)

Had breast reduction. I was happy with results intially, but was in gut wrenching pain to the point that I was bawling for three days. No comfort at all. I'm not battling awful infection that dr. Grey wouldn't touch he peaked from a fair and the antibiotics he prescribed I had a know allergy to, didn't think to look, so I took it anyways and was horrible sick. I'm on my 3rd night stay in ICU and the doctor's here can't seem to get them on the phone no matter how many times they have tried.now 4 months later my breast are 2 different sizes, they don't return my calls and tell me to what another 6 months before booking the surgery to fix it. Um no. I hate this place. I called better business Bureau and if I had the money to have someone else fix it I would. So I'm contacting someone to represent the me.

I hesitated to write a review because I'm relatively private. And, I noticed another patient wrote similar things, and was publicly chastised when she said that her mini-face lift didn't do anything, she was criticized by this office stating that she should have considered the full face lift. Shameful. I too got the mini-face lift. I had consultation, and discussed the possible outcome. I was clear that I truly only wanted a little bit of change, maybe five-ten years younger, nothing great. The doctor even sent in a patient who was just getting her bandages off. She raved, but her face was still quite swollen. I decided to wait for the swelling to go down before deciding. What I got was zero. ZERO!!!! DIFFERENCE!!!!! ZERO!!!! I have the before and after photos, juxtaposed perfectly, identical poses, identical lighting, identical background, identical angle. There is zero difference. All of my friends and my husband all agree. Zero difference. $10K down the drain. We'll be paying it off for four years due to financing. I also paid an extra 2K for an eye lid tuck. Zero difference. When I say zero, please know that I wasn't expecting miracles. I got literally zero difference. And, the scars are terrible (see below). There are reviews on here stating that they felt rushed. That is definitely the case for me. Especially post-operatively (I guess the money is already in the bank). But, WHAT'S worse, is that just prior to the procedure, the doctor came in and asked me if I had any questions. I asked him where the incisions would be. He pointed to the hair line with the tip of a pen. That is acceptable. HOWEVER, the incisions are a full 1/2" below the hair line. They look terrible, 8 months later. I followed all the instructions. I can never wear a pony tail or bun again. The eye lid scars are noticeable too, but luckily, in the crease (but still not worth it since they look exactly the same--same amount of lid droopage as before, only now a scar in each eye) To reiterate: zero difference in the jowls or neck (my goal areas), zero difference in the eyes, and scars that are very, VERY noticeable. I do hope this company doesn't violate my HIPAA and post something identifying me, or email me (like they did a friend) once they figure out who I am. That would be a violation. I am posting anonymously for a reason. Adding because they blocked me from responding to their "response." Yes, the scars are 1/2 inch below the hairline. Yes, it was called a "mini-facelift." In spite of their response. No, they never asked me to come in for further follow ups, that is a lie. Still, there is zero difference.
