I made an appointment with Adagio Spa and Salon a month or so before my prom date to get my make up done. We made it for 2:45 because my friend was getting hers done at 3. The night before prom, they didn't even call to confirm the appointment. When we went there around 2:40, they told us we missed our appointment and that they couldn't fit us in whatsoever. They told us numerous things like, it did not seem like they actually put us in their books because they kept telling us different times that we should have been there. I walked out of there crying my eyes out because I had planned my whole prom day partially on the idea that I was getting my make up done. They were rude, snobby, and just plain mean. Like, that is my one and only prom day, and you feel the need to be so rude to me? I was shocked and baffled. I will never give them my business now and I'm going to encourage my friends and family to stay far away from that horror as well. I ended up doing my make up myself, and having a wonderful night in spite of this incident. But I am in disbelief with the disorganization and absolute snobbishness that these employees had presented themselves with. I highly suggest against this place. I hope they can fix their act in the future.

Got the acrylics, $50. THEY FELL OFF TWO DAYS AFTER THEY WERE PUT ON. THE DAY PROM. THEN ANOTHER FELL OFF A DAY LATER. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. pissed I spent $50 on a set of nails that didn’t even last 5 days. Will not be returning.

I have been to Adagio twice. I've had two haircuts (one of them drastic - BANGS!) and one Brazilian Blowout. On my first appointment I was SO late...the staff was extremely nice about it and managed to fit me in. I can't say enough about the decor and vibe, if you are a busy mom looking to feel like you are a world away from the stress and chaos of your life for a few hours - this is the place for you. Very, very relaxing, high quality environment. I love going here and will go again for sure. I've been telling all of my lady friends to go. They are full service, great atmosphere and priced reasonably. The Brazilian Blowout I received here was the best hair service I've ever received before. Absolutely incredible. I was a little nervous about the negative reviews before going for the first time, but I quickly came to understand that these people must just have been those "unhappy" types who have a bad time wherever they go. I can't imagine a normal, sane, well-tempered individual having anything but a great time with the staff at Adagio.

If I could give zero stars I would. I went here since 2003 and loved them. Until the last year or so. Their new front manager is awful and quite rude. For the price you pay here, one would expect a positive atmosphere geared towards their customers. Not anymore. The last few haircuts for my adult daughter were all about how they weren't scheduled enough time for all her hair. Strange, since she has gone since 2013 and certainly pays more because of it. Not her fault and that is a management issue. Not for her feel badly about. Today was the last time we will go. They screwed up the time of her appt, after 10 minutes scheduling it last week, to ensure enough time to color it. So it was very clear. Well she arrived and they gave away her appt time without even an apology. She was told maybe they could squeeze a 3 hr appt in between people, to just wait until maybe they could? So over a 200 dollar appt and she was made to feel badly they screwed up and maybe she could be squeezedin?? There are so many other places worth the money with great service. When I called and complained and said I think we will be changing after 15 years, no response at all. Too bad service has gone downhill so much, it used to be wonderful. Dont waste your time.

went for a razor cut and highlights my haircut looked like it was cut by a drunk in the dark. when I complained the owner was very rude and said "well it's too short now and we can't do anything we'll give you a discount on the highlights" please run for your hairs life and never step root into this establishment.

The prices are totally reasonable, making a spa day more accessible as a regular occurrence rather than an every-once-in-a-while splurge, which is very nice! The owner was friendly and welcoming and it was an all around great experience!

Booked a pedi for 3 people. Showed up to the appointment to discover that whomever booked it didn't bother to look at the schedule. There had been appointments scheduled at that time for months. We left with a "discount" on our next pedi. We were never told how much of a discount.

From the moment you walk through the front doors you are immersed in a relaxing environment and gently guided by professionals. From single and couples massages to salon services and more, Adagio is an oasis of calm and restoration that you would not expect to find in a small town like Barrington.

Terrible customer service. I have gone to Adagio for several years to get my hair done with no issues until today. I showed up for an appointment that was made for 10am, and was told I had the wrong time and they couldn’t get me in until 1:30pm. The girl at the front counter, who said she was a manager, was very rude and did not apologize about putting the wrong appointment time down, but insisted that it was my fault and I wrote the time wrong. The woman who was supposed to do my hair was very nice and apologetic, but after seeing the management style they think is acceptable, I will not be returning.

Amazing! Had my prenatal done and they were crazy nice respectful accommodating and not rushed! Finished my massage which was supposed to be a 60 min in like 70 min and it was outstanding. The atmosphere was perfect and every single person had a smile! Will be going back 100% and recommending all my friends go!!! You'll love it!

Worst customer service ever. I HAD been going to Adagio for years with every visit being great. But this last visit, like another reviewer had said, I paid $50 for a manicure that lasted for 3 days! Not worth the money. When I called to ask if there was any guarantee, I was told they "should" be able to redo them for free and asked if I could call back in the morning because it was the end of the day. I've called 3 more times, my phone call is never answered (they must have caller ID). I've left voice messages asking them to please call me back either way if they can or cant re-do them. It has been 3 weeks now and I have yet to receive a call back. Sadly I will not be doing business here anymore.
