Totally awesome from the cucumber lime infused chilled water I received walking in the door to the thank you gift I got when I walked out the door... after giving my permission to do as she liked , my stylist Teresa took me in hand chose the color the highlights and most importantly the cut she felt suited me best and I have to agree she chose well... Crystal City, DC, Buckhead, GA, Pittsburgh, PA, and various other places along the way claiming to be five star salons... you could take lessons.... it's all in the details... like providing a large massage chair, candles while your hair was processing then at the washout basin you had heated neck towels and when finished being shampooed and conditioned there was a black towel wrapped around your head securely, turbin-style so you didn't Splish Splash your way back to your chair... long review but I can't help it everywhere you looked was something interesting to see, to smell, to try... I loved it! It is a bit pricey but no more so than the salons I have visited in the above cities... go and tell them Sandra C sent you... enjoy the experience, you probably deserve it!!!

I've been going to Shine for about 3 years now. I go for manicures (Dawn is AMAZING! !) , my pedicures and my hair. The service and staff are always top notch!! The shop itself is very tidy, clean and offers a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.

It was delightful! The Staff is terrific in making me feel at home as it was my first time in this salon. Erika was wonderful in providing me one of the best spa pedicures I have ever had. I travel around the United States as a Healthcare worker and always seek out Aveda salons for their services. I am never disappointed but this salon was probably one of the best I have found! i recently moved to Reno from California and have been looking for a good salon. After searching Google for a while, I finally found Shine Aveda it was one of the only salons that not only had good customer reviews but they had alot of them. I was actually late to my appointment and they had no problem waiting on me. The salon was super nice, very soothing and relaxing atmosphere, great music selection and even a complentary tea or water with fresh cinnamon and orange on arrival, which I loved.

Where do I start! Well I was referred to Stephen after having terrible experiences with a couple of hair dressers, and I'm absolutely amazed! He was very knowledgeable and took the time to get to know what I wanted and shared his recommendations with me. The staff was welcoming and very nice and professional. My hair was truly damaged and he went over products with me to get my hair back to healthy! I can't Thank you enough Stephen and staff!!!

I got my eyelash extensions done here. They charge $150 for a full set. The finished work looks like you had your work done 3 weeks ago, really sparse and not very curled.

January 2019: Lea gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. Normally, I don’t like to go to places where you have to throw your clothes on a chair in the massage room. It reminds me of those “massage factory places” but Shine has changed my mind! It was better than any spa in town, trust me, if you just straight up want a relaxing and professional massage, Lea is your gal!

I was new to town and wanted to get a perm. Some other salons told me that nobody does perms anymore because of the damage it does to your hair. A friend recommended Shine Aveda Salon for a haircut and when I called to schedule, found out they did perms as well. I made an appointment for a perm with Teresa and received the BEST perm I have ever had in my life. She used the Aveda products and the curls were frizz free perfect curls that lasted forever. The perm never smelled bad and didn't cause any burning of skin or hair. I received so many compliments! I have since been back to see Teresa for my haircuts and cannot recommend Teresa, this salon, and their products enough!!!

Erika is fantastic.. She is excellent with color on long, curly hair! I really appreciate the knowledge she has of Aveda products and how they work. Shine Salon is a comfortable fun place to go. The people are really nice not all snewty like most Aveda salons are. The massage chair is great! I definitely would recommend Shine and Erika.

I've had very long hair for years and decided it was time to get rid of it. I got a Groupon for Shine and made an appointment. The day I was there, Laura was the only one there, everyone else was at a convention in San Francisco, so I can't speak for the ventilation as another reviewer mentioned. The salon space is small, but I didn't find it cramped. The decor is contemporary and natural. The product line is wonderful and the staff is knowledgeable about them. The last two times I had my hair done in an "upscale" salon were both disappointing. One time, the stylist talked the whole time about herself and did only a basic trim on my long hair and charged me $39. The second time, the stylist didn't say anything and did only what I told her to do. I got better service at the Supercuts for $20! When I sat down with Laura, she took the time to look at the pictures I brought, look at me and my hair and actually make suggestions about what would look good. I had brought a couple friends with me and she very graciously let them hang out and take pictures. Laura cut almost a foot off my hair and the salon arranged to donate the hair for me. The haircut was exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't know exactly what I wanted! It looks great on me and works great with my very curly hair. Not everyone does well with curly hair, but Laura took the curl into account when cutting and kept scrunching it as she cut to see where it would curl up. She recommended product that worked with my new style. I am thrilled with the results and will definitely be back!
