This is not my first time booking a massage with this Massage Envy spa, but it's my first time having a massage here. I booked a girl's day for the ladies in my family in 2015 for an after Christmas relaxing day to unwind. However, after careful coordinating and planning on my part (right down to requesting a prenatal massage for myself - 6 1/2 months pregnant). Of the 9 of us, I was the one who couldn't get a massage because they let all of the prenatal masseuses off for the day. Anyhow, I was given some comp cards and hadn't had a chance to return to redeem 1 until yesterday. Let me just say despite my initial mishap...I was very pleased with the massage and the staff's overall patience, care and the welcoming atmosphere. Kiesha (I hope I'm spelling that right - couldn't see her name tag well as the lights are quite dim), did an amazing job with focusing on my problems areas and making sure I was comfortable with the amount of pressure applied. I really can't speak for anyone else but for the prices this spa charges compared to some others in the area, I believe that they should be ranked among the best for both quality and quantity!!!

I use to have a membership, but cancelled after I could never get an appointment. I tried to reach the local franchisee, but he would never return my calls. Gave them a second chance recently and same old issues. They have no appointment times available. Do not become a member.
I have a membership but rarely have time to go - which is totally on me. But when I found the time to go, I arrived and was checked in. I waited in the second waiting room for half an hour, went out and asked the desk what was causing the delay - only to find out that the therapist that they had booked me with didn't show up for work. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed that I had taken time out of my schedule, made to wait and then did not get any services.
The massages are good, but they REFUSE to send you a cancellation form! They will talk around you and not return voicemails and will not email a cancellation form! After you finally get them on the phone, they will ask for your email address, like it's not already on file, to tell you they're gonna send you a cancellation form...even though they CLAIM to not send them over email anymore...and I have YET to get that cancellation form! I don't like those kind of sneaky business practices! I suggest ANYONE thinking of doing business with them better get a blank cancellation form up front and find out their practices on cancellations because they're not going to let go of your money!!! I suggest using a card that you load the money onto monthly so if they refuse to send you a cancellation form, OR JUST CANCEL WHEN YOU TELL THEM TO, they won't have access to your money!!!! They claim "only a manager can send a cancellation form", but trust me when I tell you...you will NEVER get it!!!!
I called Massage Envy in Flowood this morning to schedule an appointment. The lady who answered the phone sounded like she was still in bed. She asked if I had been there before. I said no. She placed me on hold for two minutes to return to her nap and responded no. I can't imagine people are beating the doors down for a massage at 8 am on Black Friday! You should service patrons who want to spend their money with you today instead of the mall...and I'm a great tipper! I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. -Dr. Smith
I received a 60 minute massage as a Christmas gift. I upgraded to a 90 minute one. It was the greatest gift ever! My massage therapist was very attentive to my needs and she talked me through some of the “painful” parts. I needed firm pressure and she delivered. I was sore for about 2 days afterwards but I’ve never felt more relaxed and energized! I had to call before hand to get directions as I had never been there and I’m not from the area. The girl who answered was very friendly and professional. When I arrived, the front space was a little crowded and felt small. I had a short wait before I was given a tablet to check in with. At checkout I went ahead and purchased a membership! Highly recommend! I can’t wait for my next appointment!!
I had my first facial there the other day and I loved it! My esthetician was Taylor. I would highly recommend her and massage envy! I felt very relaxed and my face cleared up the next day!

Joshua was great! He listened to me and addressed the area that was giving me issues. He adjusted pressure as needed and as I could tolerate. Highly recommend! And I appreciate that Massage Envy has appointments available for the after work crowd. The online appt process was easy to navigate and the front desk staff were super!

Here's the thing about Massage Envy - at least this location. Its all about which massage therapist you get. I've had such a range - from the very attentive and professional to the down right rude/lazy/unskilled. So, if you are going to get a membership here, beware of that discrepancy. They have alot of different massage therapists and have a ton of hours available for appointments, which is nice. On the other hand, I would much prefer that they stick with a core of massage therapists who actually know what they are doing and aren't obnoxiously rude - even at the cost of reduced availability of appointments. Alot of times I avoid making an appointment because I know that I am chancing it by going with a new therapist I have never gotten a massage from before - and if its a bad experience, I just wasted my massage for the month. Its also hard to relax and enjoy the massage if you get someone who doesn't know what they are doing or is being lazy and avoiding actually giving you a massage (yes, this happens). I will say that the one time I had a therapist who only was in the massage room with me for about 25 (out of a 50 minute massage), the manager comped the visit for me without me having to ask. I was really unsure how this happened in the first place....To me its all about quality control versus mass production of mediocre massages. I go here for convenience given my unpredictable work schedule, but I wouldn't expect too much in terms of quality.

UPDATE AS OF 8/13: THEY ARE STILL DRAFTING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNTS. I HAVE CALLED AND MADE VISITS MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE SIGNED PAPER WORK TO PROCESS MY REQUEST & COPIES OF MY REQUEST... THEY HAVE REFUNDED ME MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE IT CONTINUES TO DRAFT.... AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, THEY DID NOT HAVE A DIGITAL OR PAPER SIGNATURE FROM ME AUTHORIZING THEM TO ENROLL INTO AUTOMATUC DRAFTING... NOW I HAVE TO CHANGE TWO OF MY CARD NUMBERS BECAUSE THEY STORE YOUR INFORMATION AND THEY CANNOT "DELETE" IT OUT THE SYSTEM. DEFINITELY CONTACTING BBB AND TAKING FURTHER ACTION. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I called in to set an appointment over the phone, starting my membership at this location since it was closer to my residence. I was not informed that there was a 12 month obligation. I was under the impression of the program being month to month, auto pay only, cancel at anytime. The service is great but the customer service experience was horrible... Their "wellness programs "are not contracts. It is a program. They do not have licensed dermatologists & there are no earlier termination fees to cancel, yet they need see your personal/medical document from a physician or health care provider to cancel the "contract", delete the account and card information out of their systems from automatic payments. No I do not want to 'freeze' my account... At this point, I do not want to do business with the company altogether after this customer service experience. The general manager could not provide a physical or digital copy of my signature agreeing to the obligation of 12 months "contract". The GM supposedly 'escalated' this to the District Manager. It has been over 7 business days & I have not heard back from anyone... I will never do business with Massage Envy at all... I work in customer service myself so I know I handled everything in a pleasant manner yet my concerns are not heard.

Don't buy their gift cards. They apparently a ruse for a full membership. After the gift card period is complete, the purchaser will be automatically charged for the next month, whether you want it or not. No one at the store will ask if you want to renew or cancel, then when you ask for a cancellation form, they never give you one, so you have to ask REPEATEDLY. 3 massages, 1 was alright. The other 2, some parts were never touched (shoulders, but not arms?). You would think that if they do this for a living, they would have a "routine" where they hit all the muscles that they are massaging. Not at this place. I wish I had tipped AFTER the massage, not before.

Such a Zen experience
Why doesn't the owner respond to the negative reviews? There are always 2 sides to every story. I am interested in getting a massage, but am leary about getting 1 here. Was corrective action taken to resolve the issue, refund, apology? Owner just doesn't care when negative reviews are posted?
