LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this salon; and especially Darren Le. I've tried several salons and thought my cuts and color were "nice" but I still felt dull a short time later. The experience at G20 was exceptional from the moment I booked. The convenient, relatively inexpensive valet parking across the street at the Lenox was a great way to start, the reception was friendly and they provided a tour of their the salon, spa and amenities. My friend and I enjoyed coffee in front of the fire in the lounge while we waited. Darren cut and colored my hair. The cut was a drastic departure from what I had and he nailed it; and the color is EXACTLY what I wanted. In addition, he was mindful of my trying to maintain a painless transition between color touchups by choosing something that worked with my natural color. Darren is the difference between a technical cutter and a skilled artistic stylist. I'll not use anyone else. Needless to say, it was a great experience.

My fiance' and I traveled to Boston from CT for a conference and I treated him to a couples massage at G2O even though we stayed at the Sheraton. The service was great and my guy Steven was the best I have had in many years as far as massages go. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy all of the other facilities at G2O because we were on the conference schedule. If I am ever in Boston I will let definitely go back there. Please open up a second location in Connecticut

My sister took me here today for my birthday. I traveled from out of town and we planned this date many months ago. When we arrived we were told that one of estheticians called in sick for the day and we would not be able to do what we booked. This was a disappointment because as I said, we planned the day for many weeks and traveled to be here. This is also the type of thing that would really irritate my sister and I - it is not what you expect from a high end spa. The women at the spa were so genuinely apologetic and went above and beyond to accommodate this inconvenience. They offered to adjust the appointments and to compensate us both in a monetary fashion and also with other services that we did not originally plan. They were kind about it, sincere, professional and courteous. I was really blown away at how everyone at the spa was willing to turn this disappointing experience into a great day for us. We loved all of our treatments. The facial was amazing. We enjoyed time in the salt cave. We also were each able to try out the saltwater floating pods. We enjoyed the beverages and snacks and spent time reading in the relaxation room. It was all absolutely wonderful. When we left for the day the manager had little gift bags put together for us to further apologize for the unexpected change in plans. All of the staff was just completely committed to customer service and to making sure that we walked out of there happy. You guys did a great job! Mission accomplished. We can not wait to come back and spend more time at your location. We know that we will get A+ treatments and service. Thank you all for such a wonderful day. Keep up the good work!

I left there with a bunch of grease in my hair, on my face and with no exfoliation, cleansing or relaxing message. All the woman did was during the ENTIRE time try to sell me things. When she figured I wasn't buying, she was rude and just left abruptly at the end of my greasing session. It cost $180 to go home and take a shower. A huge mistake and waste of money. P.S. I was expecting to look refreshed and yet I looked exhausted and stressed. The salon might appear to be fancy, but it's all show and a total farce. Find a decent place and look elsewhere. What a waste of money and time. YUK! G20 makes Boston look like peanuts. Being a true Brahman Bostonian it is embarrassing. G20 - You are not fooling anyone, but fools.

I had about 8 inches cut off my hair today. Very emotional. Tiffany was amazing and inspired confidence in everything. This place is very nice and every employee really listens and takes care of your needs. You can also use the facilities before and after your appointment, if you want to hit the steam room or sauna. I did the Bali experience with a group for a party and it was very enjoyable and relaxing. I then got a blow out so my hair was done for the evening, every experience was amazing.

G2O, was amazing. My friend came from Spain and I met her in Boston to enjoy a girls weekend. I love spa treatments and I try to have massages and facials often, so I go to different spas every time I can, looking for the best place that offers good amenities and good service. This spa was absolutely incredible. We both did the Razul therapy in the experience room and after that my friend got a signature facial with Tricia, and I had a massage with Lucy. Both therapists are well trained and knowledgeable, they really like their jobs and for us as clients their dedication and effort to satisfy our needs, made the trick and gave us exactly what we were looking for, a day of relaxation, pampering and well being. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks to all the staff and the new clean facilities this place is highly recommended!! At the end of our afternoon by accident I left my reading glasses into my robe... and did not notice until I made it home. The following day I called and the office manager ups them for me. Really nothing went wrong with this place....

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Patricia for almost a year- she is the absolute best! Having blonde, fine hair is a challenge and she always gets the color and cut absolutely perfectly. I got some extensions for body on my last visit and per usual Patricia knocked it out of the park and matched them perfectly. Her assist is also so amazing and always makes sure that I am well taken care of, as does Patricia. I always leave looking and feeling fabulous!!

Received a massage from my daughter for Christmas. We made appointments for 90 minute massage. It is perfect length of time. Jeff is amazing. He unkinked every kink I had. Very knowledgeable and professional. Did not feel uncomfortable with a man. The facility is very clean and the staff is very helpful. We used the brine room and the hot tub and enjoyed every minute. It is very well equipped.

The service person (Trica) did not preform the service that I booked, which was recommended to me by a different staff member after I had communicated what I wishes to achieve during my treatment. When I got to the room with Trica, she began quizzing me about why I chose the service and that she did not like the hydro facial and insisted on doing the mini skincuticals facial. I told her I needed extractions and she said that she would take care of it. Half way through I asked why she hadnt done any extractions (what I came in for) and she said that wasnt included in the 30min facial!! The entire thing felt like a sales pitch for skincuticals products rather than a service. In addition, I had had communicated to her verbally and on the paperwork that I have an almond allergy and she still proceeded to put products on my skin with almonds in it. After the service was completed I told the manager what had happened and that I was not satisfied with my service. He still made me pay $120 for the treatment and his solution was to book me for another service in two weeks with a 15% discount. The entire experience felt like a complete scam!

What a terrible choice. The new location must be saving them money. The locker room had two showers and have remained tiny. No rooftop. No Jacuzzi. For giving those things up you would think the service would be amazing...nope. Everyone also seemed to have a really bad attitude. I mean to the point I had to laugh The only two people that seemed to like what they did was Jasmine and the woman who was running the salt room. I could go on and on but I just wont go back. Doesnt seem like they really care anyways. 30 Save you 300 and go to a regular gym instead and use the sauna and steam room.

Losing trust in G20..while my stylist is the only thing holding my loyalty(by a tattered string), this is the third strike. 1- I emailed about pre booking points for 6 months of standing appts, never received any points or response; 2-left voicemails regarding possibly leaving my toiletry bag of high end skincare products- no response; 3- left voicemail to schedule appt for current April promotion, in which services are priced at 'dated' prices...crickets. At this point, I'd rather spend inflated pricing on one of the many other spas on Newbury St, in Wellesley or Lexington, where they consistently return calls& respond to concerns.

I have been looking for a good day spa online, since I am not from Boston. Some of the reviews really made me question if I should go somewhere at all. But I decided to book an appointment for an aroma therapy massage at the g2o spa. The booking, which was made online, was so easy to do. On the day I got there a little bit early and from the time I stepped out of the elevator everybody was so nice to me. I came in the morning, which was great since I almost had the place to my self. The massage, the sauna and the steam room were great. I would always recommend this place to somebody who wants to have a little relaxation in the city and doesn’t want to spend a fortune. I always absolutely have the best experience at G2O and have been going for about 8 years! I love Dailin, my stylist and the service is always top notch! One strange thing that happened this time prior to my appointment is that I got a personal text from a girl who worked at the front desk asking to confirm my appointment for a hair color (I had a haircut the next day) and she asked if I wanted a hair cut as well (she could have seen I booked a hair cut) also asked me to move times. When I said I couldn’t meet earlier, the response was “it’s okay” I found the response off putting as if I was being an inconvenience when I booked the session a month ago and simply count meet earlier. Working in the customer service industry myself, the response should have been something like “no problem! See you at 1pm! Have a great day” I just found the whole text exchange unprofessional and a little off putting. And this was the first time this ever happened. Every other experience at G20 has been phenomenal!! I more wanted to let you know this happened. Thanks!

I'm not a regular spa-goer- have only done a spa treatment once in my life before-, but decided to treat myself to a birthday spa day at G2O and was very satisfied. G2O is a 5 floor full-service day spa with pretty much any service you may want, from hair to nails to body/face treatments and even energy work, and along with a great online advance booking system, the spa concierge will hook you up and book things on the spot in case the mood strikes. To begin with, the spa amenities offered here are excellent, and if you're new they'll give you a full tour so you know what to enjoy... from a roof deck fireplace and hot tub, to a sauna and brine relaxation room, they've got you covered for a full day of relaxation here, so make sure to add in some additional time before/after your scheduled treatment to enjoy them all. (Tip: earlier in the day seemed to be less crowded- I had the hot tub and sauna to myself prior to my appointment.) Along with the usual robes and bathroom products, they even had disposable bathing suits to use in the hot tub or for your treatment, which is pretty cool. I also think you're able to order wine (extra charge) before/after your appointment, and of course they had water and tea/coffee to enjoy. For my chosen treatment, Rebeca did an aromatherapy body scrub which started out with vigorously applying the organic body scrub all over, rinsing it off by myself in the shower room which had horizontal water streams, and then getting lathered with the same scent of body lotion/oil. The scrub was just that- rubbing the scrub into my skin until I was nice and pink all over, although Rebeca did check with me that the pressure she was using was OK, so you can customize how intense the scrubbing is. My skin felt wonderful and really detoxed/fresh/new/smooth at the end, and thought the experience did have elements of a full body massage (although remember, your skin is being scrubbed down fairly roughly, so it's not the sleep-inducing experience a pure massage might be). Rebeca recommended heading to the brine relaxation room (a quiet room with lounge chairs, a waterfall, changing colors, and salt air) to give my body time to settle and relax before heading out, and asked if I was interested in taking any of the products she used home with me (not a true hard sell, but worth being prepared for). Start to finish, I had a positive experience at G2O, and look forward to treating myself again in the future. UPDATE: I've gone a few times over this year and have yet to be disappointed with any of the spa services/technicians. Try the aromatherapy scrub and massage with Gidget.

I have been going to this place for years for haircuts, massage and more. Recently, my wife dumped her old salon and now we are both going here regularly. And yesterday, I took my 6 year old son for a haircut and he really enjoyed it! All of the staff seem very happy to work there, which reflects well on the ownership and management. If you're looking for a new stylist, a massage, or other 'salon' or 'spa' treatments, I highly recommend g20!

What a wonderful pampered way to spend a cold rainy afternoon. From the greeting, to the robes and flip flops provided and the tasteful decorations everywhere I was impressed. I had my first deep tissue massage and Bill skillfully untangled knots and tension I never even knew I had. His consultation with me prior was essential because it helped me understand what I was in for and also the results after. I will be back. After a wonderful shower, I lay and relaxed in the brine room and was almost lulled into sleep. I even used the hot tub. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon by yourself or WITH friends!

I want to say first... the two services I received were 5 star... Alla (facial) and Brenda (swedish massage) were amazing professionals who made me feel right at home. But not a fan of the new location which is disappointing since I LOVED my experiences at Newbury Street. I walked in and was told to change and go to 1 of the 2 relaxation rooms (basically the spa lobby or a room with couches upstairs). The changing room only has 2 showers and 1 steam room which seemed odd for how many people were there. Went to use the salt room which I thought must be like the brine room at the previous location only to be kicked out since they had changed the experience to a paid service vs. an amenity (I had no idea!) and I hadn't booked a spot. They said the new complimentary amenities were the sauna and steam room... though honestly they were similar to that of my gym's services. The drinks were all in paper cups and you had to make the coffee yourself which again, was odd, but overall it was fine! Everything was fresh and clean and they have some AMAZING professionals on their staff so if I do need a massage or facial I would go back for that, I would just not expect the same experience and treatment as there was on Newbury Street. I would prefer a spa with more amenities and a more luxe environment for how much you spend on the services themselves.

Be careful. Got a deep tissue massage and still recovering from the damage done over a year ago to my back. Reached out to staff afterwards to let them know (right after) and they fully and completely ignored me. Then asked me to rate the experience again and continued to spam me. Would give 0 stars if it was possible. Don’t get overcharged, damaged and ignored.

Used to be absolutely amazing but new location is huge mistake. My husband and I have been coming for couples massages at the Newbury location for close to two years and have been treated to wonderful services and complimentary amenities such as the hot tub and brine room. This has all gone out the window at the new location and its clear that the customer no longer matters only the $$$$. You can tell the staff is not pleased either. Previously bubbly and wonderful you can tell they no longer enjoy their work. G20 please treat your staff and your customers better and bring back the amenities that once made your location so great and one I highly recommended to others. We will not be coming back.

This is my second time here after I have been booked on the wrong date/time twice. This place is a joke! I can’t speak as far as services go because thanks to schedulers I have never been able to try them. Their resolution is..a manager will contact you. I’ve spent $ on babysitters, parking and even had my friend join me only to find out we weren’t getting a massage that day. This is THE WORST place for someone to try and relax in. Save your money!

This is my third salt cave experience and I had the entire room to myself. There is an option of wearing your clothes rather than using a robe. The zero gravity chair, dimmed lights and ambient music makes a 45 minute relaxing experience. The light come up when the session is over. The sauna is very good and again I was the only patron. The steam room in the ladies locker room didn't seem hot enough to me. The shower doesn't have a shelf to put your own bath products. There is G2O shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower. I would prefer a glass shower door rather than a curtain. I was surprised by the limited water station. I would expected water in the locker room as well. The staff are very polite and cheery.

Staff was very friendly and attentive and the spa overall was super clean and modern. And I probably got one of the best pedicures of my life from Van. He is an artist! The only complaint I would have is that the atmosphere is a little too modern, missing some of the “warmth” you typically get in a spa.

The spa itself is very nice and clean, and the people at the front desk were very friendly. BUT my waxing service was rushed and I was very rushed to pick a color for my mani/pedi... and my (expensive) gel manicure chipped 1 DAY after I got it done! Wouldn’t recommend for a manicure at all.

My rating is solely based on my recent visit. However, I want to reiterate that my massage service with Bill was great as usual so he deserves a 5 star for his consistent professionalism. So why a 2 star rating? If it wasn't for the massage, I would have given a 1 star. Well, since the new location, I was stuck in the steam room due to a thick floor rug wich wedged itself so I could not push it out all the way. There was no emergency call or shut off button from the inside like most public places that have wet saunas. What made my panic worse was there was no locker attendant and clients around. I only had two options... Scream or try to squeeze out. I chose the latter. I managed... It was frightening. I could barely breathe with the ongoing steam. In retrospect, this could have been fatal especially if this happened to an elderly person. I did let the manager know and she notified the owner. I received an apologetic voicemail message and they are working on replacing the rug she said. However, I am waiting to hear back from the manager to restore my faith in the G2O spa experience. Services are one thing but safety and client care are a must for an ultimate spa experience. As a loyal client since the original Newbury location when it was known as Giuliani's (even before Emerge) the new location is nice and bigger but I do miss the jacuzzi tub, roof deck, and brine room as amenities. Maybe my next review would be better but like I said, it remains to be seen by the owner and manager. It would be a shame to give my business elsewhere after all these years since there are other spas in back bay.

I have had the pleasure of visiting G2O on a couple different occasions and each time I was blown away. The moment you walk in you feel a sense of calm and by the time you reach the top floor it's like you've been whisked away to another realm. I recommend coming plenty early for your appointment and taking full advantage of the amenities such as the Brine Inhalation Room. The service is also top-notch; I have received an amazing facial from Gina and massages from Jim. I can't recommend G2O Spa enough for a quiet relaxing day of pampering!

I absolutely LOVED my visit at G2O! I booked a haircut with Darren Le looking for a change, and was truly worried since I had had the same hairstyle for almost 10 years. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for, what I didn't want, and gave me advice on how to best care for my new style. He gave me a haircut even more amazing than I could have ever imagined. It's on the expensive side but certainly well worth it. Conveniently located and a beautiful space, I will definitely be returning!

The new location is a huge mistake. Like many commenters below, you can tell G2O only cares about making money, not their customers. The old location had a rooftop, jacuzzi, and brine room included in their amenities and this place has...a stream room. Their prices haven’t dropped and are over priced to begin with, so really you are getting less than ever before. I took a friend from out of town here and was embarrassed after talking the place up for a few days. Staff were rude and made me uncomfortable. Needless to say, I will not be coming back nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

It has been over a year since my last visit to G20 Spa, but with the new space, I'm certain any of their "flaws" were taken care of. The professionalism and friendliness towards clients is felt from the moment you walk in as you are greeted with a smile from the moment you approach the desk to introduce yourself. Yes, I consider it expensive, but you get what you pay for and I am paying $45 for a blow out with no amenities whatsoever. I see Gareth and he's simply amazing! Yes, we chat, he thoroughly explains everything, not only will he constantly check in with you about the comfort of any product in your hair but if you want any beverages or anything else, etc. I've goes above and beyond. Justifying the costs is related to certain expectations which include the location, premium services and amenities, but most importantly, the constant smile and assurance & reassurance of one's needs. With parking not being a concern or stress at the new location, a visit to G20 Spa and Salon is exactly what I need after a week of reading and editing English papers. I highly recommend Gareth. His constant strive to learn, passion to find perfection and figure out what could have been done "better" and demeanor are traits people lack.

It was my first time at G20 Spa & Salon. I really enjoyed the experience and was very impressed to see the balance between staff efficiency and customers relaxation. I would only have one suggestion: tea and coffee capsules are not exactly environmentally friendly. It would be a very positive change if coffee and tea were made available using greener choices. Overall I'm very happy with my visit and hope to return very soon to treat myself to a very nice, clean and relaxing atmosphere :)

There were 4 of us in our group today. We had originally wanted 4 massages but only 3 were available at the same time so we opted for 3 massages and one body scrub. Booking a group of 4 was a little annoying because you had to book 'groups' through Megan who never answered her phone and therefore a game of phone tag was not enjoyed for a couple of days. They told us about all the amenities we could use but DIDNT tell us that the body scrub person couldn't use the hot tub after her service. We didn't want to get wet before our services and planned on utilizing the hot tub after. Well, she couldn't do that and it put a damper on our time together. All of our services were SUPERB, all massages and body scrub. However, the locker room was dirty, hair all over the floor, showers didn't drain, and dirty laundry cabinets for towels and robes was overflowing. Last but not least the girl at the checkout desk was rude. I asked her if there were any gratuity envelopes and she replied 'yeah, they're in the gratuity area.' Aaaaa, excuse me but if I've never been here before how am I supposed to know where that is? All in all, the next time I'm looking to spend about $600 for 4 services I'll double think my options.

Beautiful facility, great hair stylist, but HUGE mix up with my hair appointments! I love the actual interior of the salon, but I tried to schedule hair appointments several times before my wedding, making it known that I needed coloring and extensions prior to the big day. I live on the Cape and work odd hours, so it's difficult for me to find an open day for these appointments. The first appointment was scheduled 2 months in advance for Balayage in May. The front desk called me to cancel my my appointment just days before. I had to reschedule for 2 weeks later since the hair stylist I wanted was in high demand and not available until then. We had a consultation about extensions that would be applied a week before my wedding in August. I scheduled that appointment for the extensions months in advance. The stylist is one of the salon's most popular, and she did an excellent and meticulous job dying my hair to get the perfect color. I was worried about my extensions appointment since I had not heard from the salon about ordering the hair. I called to cancel the appointment once I had discussed the process with a stylist at a different salon, and when I called the front desk the appointment had ALREADY BEEN TAKEN OFF THE BOOKS!!! The hair stylist actually reached out and contacted me the weekend before my wedding... She had ordered the hair for the extensions, which I felt terrible about. I believe this was a big error on the part of the front desk staff, since I assumed my appointment had been cancelled.

I got a massage from Jeff, and had several times before. Jeff is the best in the business and I do not want to go to anyone else. Jeff understands and adjusts for different body types, prior physical injuries and all aches and pains, and is careful to not cause any undue pain or stress, He is able to help work out knots and kinks very easily. He is timely, professional, respectful, considerate, and has a great memory. I had not been there in over a year, maybe longer, and he remembered me. The Brine Inhalation room is also very tranquil and I easily fell asleep in there looking at the waterfall, pretty soothing colors, and listening to the sounds of water. All the staff are friendly and helpful too. Thank you, I will definitely be back again sometime.

I really love this spa. The amenities and variety of treatments they offer are a huge selling point! Their massage (and general) staff are skilled, pleasant and helpful. I've been to a few spas in the Boston area but this is my #1.

I did an Experience Room for a friend's birthday. What a fun thing to do! There were 8 of us in a cavernous room. We were given masks to apply to skin in different areas of our body. We were well taken care of before and after the experience. The locker room is comfortable and well-appointed. I was impressed with the price which was about $72 including gratuity. I can't believe this place has been around for about 10 years and I had never been yet! Would definitely go back.

Great spa. When you make an appointment you get access to all spa amenities as well like the sauna and relaxation lounge. However it's a little pricey and I liked the old location on Newbury better.

I wanted to try and get balayage done again after a bad experience several years ago which caused me not to go back to a salon for 3 years. I felt like I needed a refresh after doing my own hair and my friend suggested I book an appointment with Rose. Rose was great! She explained what I could expect now and the results I would get after another visit or two. Although I couldn’t get to the blonde I wanted now she made it look amazing and the colors were blending fabulously! I went back the next day because I needed to get a single process to hide my greys and a much needed cut. Rose was so confident in what she was doing that I knew it was going to come out great before she even started coloring my hair! What a great experience it was!

I will never let anyone other than my hairdresser, Patricia, touch my hair! She’s so detailed orientated and such a doll! I’m getting married in a few months and she got my DARK brown hair to a white blonde! I’m so over the moon with the color! It took a few hours but definetly worth the time. She ensures that you leave her chair happy. I highly recommend this salon and spa. The amenities here are out of this world too!

Wonderful experience. Amy is the best. Rose too. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do and they truly strive to make you feel welcome and heard. They listen to what you want. May seem like a basic thing but not all businesses do that. I live in Maine and have been visiting G2O when in Boston for about 4 years (about once per year). I noticed with this recent visit that the front reception staff had improved immensely in the areas of professionalism and helpfulness. Thank you G2O; and, thank you Amy and Rose!

Before G2O, I was not a regular spa goer. Now that I've found G2O, I can't help myself. I've used a variety of their services: massages, spray tans, and the salon, and I'm looking forward to trying the rest. The atmosphere and the amenities are simply second to none. The customer service is amazing--the concierges always remember me and my sister (even when she isn't with me). I love being able to use the brine room, rooftop deck, hot tub, and fireplace lounge when I arrive early (and when I buy friends/family gift cards, they are always EXTREMELY impressed). Tiffany Blair is my go-to stylist at the salon. She is a truly talented colorist and a delightful person, all around. I'm so grateful to have found her after bouncing around several Boston salons for year G2O Spa and Salon.

If you end up here I suggest going to the top floor and ordering lunch from the Cafeteria (local restaurant). You just tell G20 what you would like, they order it for you and the food is delivered to the top floor. In the meantime you can enjoy the hot tub or just sit on the rooftop overlooking Boston.
