I’m a customer of Tea Spa for about 4 years and Karen is my massage therapist. She is awesome, knows exactly what needs to be done and I really cannot imagine my stressful life without her. I recommend Tea Spa to all my friends. Klara

Have been going to TeaSpa for almost three years and am totally satisfied with the service and ambiance. Staff recognizes me on arrival and always offers me a cup of tea or water. The small waiting area has been revamped recently to seat a couple of more people but still stay intimate and quiet. My regular staff for massage (Jane) and facial (Cherie) give excellent service and don't talk me to death (I've had that with therapists before and it is a real turn-off). I belong to the TeaSpa program that gives me discounts on my facials and massages, as well as coupons for extra add-ons. If I had one wish for improvement it would be the addition of mani/pedi services. However, I realize that the space is limited and they probably don't have the physical room to do this unless they take over the driving school next door. Anyway, I really recommend this spa.

This is a nice and relaxing zone with professionals that know how what they are doing.

I just came back from a signature massage (Groupon) with Jane. She was absolutely wonderful. Her touch was perfect--not too firm and not too soft. As far as I know, Tea Spa is not handicapped accessible, but very well worth climbing up about 15 steps. I will have no hesitation in going back.

I have since returned to Linda several times with different therapist, and have had lovely experiences. Linda had the magic touch, really focusing in on problem areas and working through a bunch of my pesky knots that have caused me pain.Checking in throughout the massage to check pressure and pain levels, and creating the most relaxing environment. At times, I was so relaxed that I was practically falling asleep. Both very calming and do great healing work!

Great massages and facials here. A little noisy because of the busy intersection

Went for a facial appointment. It was a relaxing and pleasant experience.

I've been a member here for around a year now, and I love my monthly massages! Being a software engineer, I NEED THEM! Haha! I've had several different therapist here, and but I really liked Ben! He always puts a lot of pressure, but in the end you feel amazing. I really appreciate how he gives you information about your body (which parts are very stressed, which parts might feel strange the next day, plus gives you tips on how to help your body). The annual membership program is awesome. I don't really have to come every month, but it turns out my body really needs the massage so I almost come every month.

Im sure this is an ok spa, I just didn't have a good experience. They are extremely difficult to book (which in their favor is a good thing). However, I did not enjoy my massage. I communicated that I like medium to firm pressure with my therapist and barely got a light touch and a bunch of the chopping movement. Instead of the relaxed feeling I normally get I was still tense. I would not try them again to see if another therapist would give a different experience.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE TO GET A MASSAGE! MY MASSAGE WAS BELOW BASIC! PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STARS YOU SEE ON HERE I THINK THEY HAVE EMPLOYEES PUTING UP COMMENTS TO BOOST THERE RATING!!! PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE 1 STARS THOSE ARE FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The massage therapist has mass with tire because they were rubbing me with open palm hand I barely felt them rubbing me... I got up feeling like I never even received a massage. I asked her speak with a manager they told me that the manager comes and goes as she was not available. The room was also freezing cold and you can hear everything from outside. You could hear the car driving past people walking past talking and buses. I've tried to get a refund but they told me I needed to speak with a manager and told me that she was not in every time I call they will tell me that she is not in and that she is the only one that could give me a refund. So I was basically brushed off and not given a refund for the poor service massage.. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE YOU WILL LEAVE UNSASTIFIED AND YOU WILL KOR BE GIVING A REFUND!!!!!

Spent an hour listening to construction noises from below. Worst massage of my life because of it, and management improperly handled the situation. Their building had active construction during business hours- which they had a permit for and thus would of had to inform the Tea Spa. The Tea Spa did not notify us when we booked the appointment that day that there would be construction on the building. Afterwards- to compensate for the most stressful massage- they offered us a free membership to come back and spend more money (which was very inappropriate). To be honest, I left with more tension then when I got there. I asked if we could be refunded for the hour we spent listening to the walls rattle and jack hammering (and regular hammering, and power drilling) and were told the only thing they could do was offer us a membership. This was miserable. The therapist was fine- but the experience was terrible. The receptionist even joked that we couldn't get a refund, but we "sure did have a story we could laugh about later." I was incredibly disappointed with the Tea Spa, and would recommend folks go somewhere else if they want to have a relaxing experience.

I’ve had a burning knot in my back for days and decided to try this place for a 30-minute massage. Jane was great, she found the knot immediately. It was amazing what she was able to do in such a short massage time but I already feel 10x better!

Mimi and the whole front desk crew were AWESOME!!!! This was a nice Birthday present from my girlfriend and the price very reasonable might i add. I got a massage from Mimi and she was very pleasant, nice and helpful. She gave me a coupon for my next visit and trust and believe i will definitely come back. Keep up the good work guys!!!!:>

Be careful before you purchase online because they don't have their own website so it's a hassle to get a refund if you decide to change your mind about going to your appointment. I purchased the therapeutic massage of $49 but then i changed my mind. It's been a month now and i still haven't gotten my refund. The lady at Tea spa told me to call the website where I paid, and I did and some chick on the phone told me everything was fine and i would get a refund....after 2 weeks later...still no refund and the website has been moved to FreshRev or something....At the moment i think I've been duped!

Let me start off by saying that Karen was the best! Her massage technique was very relaxing yet therapeutic. She released a lot of my knots without pain and had me walking out feeling great. Her Massage was so amazing that I had to join their membership. The receptionist did not even have to say a word, that is another thing that I liked, they are not pushy at all. I actually asked them to explain a little bit more about it since I saw the handout by the front desk when checking out. I will definitely fit some time to relax around my hectic work schedule and take advantage of my membership with them. Thank you Tea Spa and thank you so much Karen!!

The massage therapist seemed to be in a rush. The massage was not good. I wanted a deep tissue massage, all he did was rub my skin and apply pressure in the wrong areas. The receptionist seemed confused. Didn’t understand that customizable massage meant you could decide which massage you wanted.

I purchased a Groupon and was able to be seen the same day. That was fantastic. When I arrived, everyone was warm, friendly and welcoming. I was offered a beverage while I waited. Once I was taken back, the therapist did not do an introduction. Apparently, no time was taken to actually read my intake form. He came in and asked me about everything that I'd already written on the form. After I told him my problem areas, he proceeded to give me a basic rub down. No extra attention was given to the areas I told him about. I could hear every car, bus and train that passed. People were loud talking outside of the room and I got to enjoy that with my massage as well. The icing on this cake is when I asked for the key to the restroom, I was met with "how much would you like to leave for a tip?" Excuse me! That's rude af! I was so pissed I forgot to piss. The restroom (I used before going in) had no toilet paper and no soap and it was dirty. Anyway, I decided to use my card and these clowns wanted to charge me 50 cents! Who does that??! I refused and the therapist actually volunteered to give me the fee because I'm sure he felt like if I left for the ATM he wouldn't get a tip. What kind of low life establishment would invoke a fee, 50 cents at that, on their customers???! It actually only applies to anyone using a Groupon or coupon. At that point, I had to write a review. People should know what to expect and I can think of several other establishments to patronize where you'll be treated far better. My aches are still achy and I was very underwhelmed to say the least.

I have been going to Tea Spa for about 3 years now. I heard about them through Groupon and have been back a few times each year, always inviting someone with me to enjoy their wonderful massage services. I probably have brought at least 2 girlfriends and my little sister there for couples massages and everyone truly enjoys it. Enough to fall asleep! I will definitely be back for a massage in the upcoming weeks and would highly recommend their affordable massage therapy services to anyone wanting a good massage!

I have been going to Tea Spa for approximately 2 1/2 years. I have taken family and friends as guests. It is spotlessly clean. Cool in summer and warm in winter. The staff are friendly. I am always offered a cup of hot tea or water upon arriving. There is comforting music playing softly. The lighting is muted. Most importantly, the staff provide excellent massages. The on-line app makes booking convenient and easy. The membership and Groupon prices are more than reasonable for the quality/length of service. It is a very nice and comfortable facility, but is not over the top in any respect -- which is why I like Tea Spa so much.

I've been a customer of Tea Spa for nearly two years, and have had a total of about 10-15 massages here. I highly recommend a massage from Ben. He's very polite and professional. Not overly chatty at all. He's very attentive to your special needs and sore spots. After leaving Tea Spa, I no longer have the knots and tightness that I had before. The massages are super reasonable at about $60 per hour. They always have Groupons or you can become a member of their club. If you are going for ambiance, then this place may not be ideal. The spa is a little outdated and does not exude luxury. However, if you want a solid massage at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Tea Spa. #cityexperts

The first appointment, there was no 2nd masseuse available, so we had to reschedule and come back the following week. The 2nd visit, there was no tea was available at the tea spa. I thought there would be a variety just based on the name of the spa. I had the couples massage. The room was freezing and the bed was not heated. My masseuse kept leaving the room during my hour session to do other things. Clearly her primary concern wasn't me, my massage, or level of comfort. Her hands were freezing as well. The massage part for my partner was fine.

Kat Patterson

Went here for my first facial ever, and it was a lovely experience! Great space (the entrance is kind of hidden on the side of the building, but not difficult to find), very relaxing environment, and kind employees. Haven't been back since but, if my visit was any indicator of their other services, then this is a wonderful place!

Katelin R

I’ve had two massages here and both were very good (therapeutic massage and signature massage). One of the best price points in the area. They offer you tea after your treatment and a resting area apart from the rest of the spa.

Chris B

Great service. Aly was awesome. Deep tissue massage was excellent. A bit hard to find at first, but no issues.

I love Tea Spa in Silver Spring. I became a member and I found it so beneficial to de-stress with a massage after a long week, that I've been going weekly! With a $49/ yr. membership, you pay just $49 each time you want a 1 hr. massage. Membership is well worth its weight in gold at this place. Also, I now go monthly for facials (also $49/hr.) and I have noticed a serious improvement in the brightness of my skin. As fsr as the personnel...Everyone is very kind and welcoming. The ladies up front who check you in are very professional and super friendly. The massage therapists each have their own unique style. Try them all and find your match. That's what I did. The rooms are low lit and very relaxing. The tables are warmed so if you fully disrobe, you won't be crawling into a "cold bed". There is always relaxing music in the background. I've fallen asleep more than once. I'm always amazed on how my therapist can melt away a week of stress in 1 hour. Anyway...enough talking...go check it out for yourself and find your own hour of Zen.

Very small location in a busy area so I don't feel like I'm in a relaxing spa until I get into the massage room. It feels like a small, cramped office. The therapists are extremely nice and the massage was good. I used a Groupon.

Been here twice now and I've been underwhelmed by their deep tissue massage both times. The first time the deepest they went was barely therapeutic and the second time the pressure was blunt and unguided resulting in more pain than relief.

I happened to try this place as a Groupon deal. My first experience was really nice. Its a small little but very inviting spa with group of friendly staff. I was offered ginger tea on my 2nd visit and it was awesome. Everyone should take a sip of that tea there before your starting appointment :) I am going back to this place for sure!

Claudia Simasek

This is a keeper of you want to relax!

I bought a Groupon deal for a massage and detoxifying foot scrub and paid extra for a facial. The location is on a busy intersection. I could hear loud traffic and sirens from inside. My massage was bad. The male therapist had trouble with draping techniques, pushed on my spine and had really hairy arms which grossed me out. When I asked him to be careful of my spine, he was annoyed. Very negative vibe. After he finished tearing my skin by scrubbing my feet too hard with the detoxifying foot scrub. He left foot scrub between my toes. I should have ended the session early. I also purchased a facial. It was ok at best. The lady was nice but I did not enjoy the technique or the pads she used to wipe the ingredients off of my face. There were stains on the ceiling as well. I will not return. I don't recommend this establishment.

renee jellerette

the actual massage deserved 5 stars, but, after my introductory massage (which was only 45 mins, because they were too booked to fit me in for a whole hour) i could never get an appointment again! there were never openings on evenings and weekends (i was told i could "try" for a month or two in advance!?), and even midday on weekdays required at least a week or two in advance to book. when i joined, i thought it was a great deal and that we would go often (my husband, 2 sons, and i get massages at least once per month, and the tea spa is, literally, 3 blocks from our house) but even though i bought a year-long membership, which came with guest passes, i still only got to go once! that's just ridiculous. the tea spa obviously has regular clientelle and skilled practitioners, perhaps it's time to hire a few more...? by the time i wait for 2 weeks and take a day off from work to get into some 11:15-middle-of-a-wednesday appt, i can just go elsewhere. so i do.

Nicole Clemson

Rude staff and member-only days that lead to a lack of availability of appointments. Beware of buying a groupon as they do not accept it on many dates.

I found Tea Spa through Groupon and I have only had professional massages through them or on a cruise. I'm no expert but they do a fantastic job. I go back twice a year. They have a membership you can sign up for that gives you discounted prices and a birthday treat! They are tucked away in the middle of busy Wheaton with free parking by the Subway restaurant but if they're full, there's plenty of metered parking around. When you make your appointment, they always make sure you are aware of that fact and to arrive early. When you arrive, they offer you tea or water while you relax in their waiting area to calm music and dim lighting. They lead you back into your room and go over your intake form with you. Make sure they know what you are looking for in your massage (a relaxing one, sore muscles, deep deep tissue, etc.) they ask if you have any areas you dont want touched or you want the focus to be on. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They play soft music and aromatherapy while you are getting your massage. I would suggest trying to not get an appointment during rush hour since the rooms are right against Georgia Ave and you can distantly hear the honking. It's not very loud but it does minimally affect the atmosphere Afterwards you can hang out in the waiting room to relax with some water or tea. I've never been steered to the door. I've personally sat in the waiting room for 20 mins after my massage just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere while I finished my tea. I would definitely recommend Tea Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing get away nearby

Went for a couples massage using a Groupon, and as other reviewers did tell me, they short change you on the time. Supposed to have 1hr, everything lasted about 45. My fiance loved her massage, but my lower back actually hurt worse after I left. I may come back to see if its better with a regular appt.

Fantastic ! Incredible messages. I highly revommend.

If you want to give yourself a personal spa retreat, Tea Spa will be your best choice. I had a lower-leg waxing and vitamin-c facial last Friday and highly impressed by their high quality service. The environment is very quiet and cozy. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Suyun (my therapist) is very nice and professional. She explained what she planed to do on my skin and helped me to better understand my skin issues. I tried a number of spas in the DMV area and Tea Spa is the most impressive one!! They offer best service with very reasonable price. As a mother of two young kids, my skin always looks dry, tired and dull. After waxing, my skin is very smooth and silky. No irritation or rashes at all!! The vitamin-c facial brightened my face and made it so healthy. I am sooooooo happy to see the results on my skin!!
