I'm traveling from Arizona and needed to get a color and cut. It's always scary picking someone to do your hair when you know nothing about them. I decided to try Pura Vida. Lana was very nice and I enjoyed talking with her. I love the color and cut. The color is what I've been looking to have done and the cut is very easy to take care of. She did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Lana. Wish I could continue to go to her.

I brought my mom in with me and we had a very nice experience. I had a deep tissue massage and she had an anti-aging facial. We were both very pleased with our services. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. It was really great- highly recommend!

I had a wonderful visit, which was my first time at Pura Vida Day Spa in Brunswick, Maine. The staff was all so friendly and took the time to make sure that I comfortable, taken care of, and very pleasant. Meeting Taylor who took care of my pedicure and my hair cut was so awesome! I really loved the spa and the set up of how the area for the pedi was hidden from the main floor and the lighting and available magazines made me feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this spa to my friends and family who may be looking for a great place to meet some really nice folks and be pampered in a great atmosphere! Thank you to my best friend Lynn Mashburn who bought this whole treatment for me as a special gift for it has been a tough couple of years for me. Thank you all! I LOVED IT

My wife made an appointment to have her hair done, and we spent a week coordinating our schedules so that she could have some time to herself and enjoy a little pampering. (She's currently pregnant and I needed to move my work schedule around so that I could take care of our toddler so she could have some peace and relaxation while she was there). Unfortunately, she received a call only moments prior to her appointment after she had driven all the way there and I was on my way to meet her to let her know that another client had been late to their appointment and that she had been bumped 45 minutes so they could be accommodated. Even after telling them how much preparation went into her visit, they insisted on caring for the other client and suggested my wife wait in the waiting room with a toddler for almost an hour. Understandably, she didn't stick around to endure that insult. I guess if you're the kind of person who is chronically late to things and expect your hairstylist to cancel other people's appointments for you to accommodate your tardiness, this is the salon for you. If you're the kind of person who expects a salon to hold to their agreements and appointments and respect your schedule and time, this is NOT the salon for you. That must've been some kind of VIP who came in late that they were willing to ruin the day of a a mother with one on the way. Not only was it unprofessional and showed a complete lack of empathy, it was mean. Neither of us will ever be back, and we will vehemently recommend that people go literally anywhere else.

Our son bought us a gift certificate for Christmas. My husband and I decided a massage would be great. What a wonderful place and the staff is amazing from the moment we walked in til we left. A lovely little spa so close to home, offers every kind of service you could want which was very surprising. Kristen is wonderful, a real magician and a true professional with tons of experience. My hair is difficult (frizzy & curly) post chemo hair, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results of her styling. No need to travel to Freeport or Portland. We have a lovely, affordable, full service spa right in our own backyard.

Regina and megan are absolute goddesses! If you're looking for a 5 star massage, go see Regina. Megan tinted my brows and lashes, and gave me a facial. Both ladies are super friendly, professional, and amazing at their jobs. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend this spa! Hubs made an appointment here for me before we moved to the area, so within my first 48 hours here I got to go to the spa for a relaxing massage after moving halfway across the country (good job, hubs!). I was greeted promptly and seated in the small waiting area to the right of the front door. I was offered a beverage but said "No, thank you." The spa was relatively quiet and comfortable. My massage therapist was Regina and she did an excellent job! She was able to provide the firm pressure I prefer, without making me feel like she was beating me up! She even extended the massage because she said I needed it - my back was in bad shape! I appreciated that she took extra time and attention to me while I was there. Before I left I went ahead and scheduled my next appointment! I've now seen Regina at least 3 times and I can say that each time has been as good as the first! She does a great job and I love how relaxed I feel after leaving! This last time I also decided to see about getting a quick bang trim and Theo was able to fit me in. He looked at the photos I showed him and did exactly what I wanted! (Whew!) I'm pretty picky about my bangs but he did them perfectly. When it's time for a full cut, I wouldn't hesitate making an appointment with him. Overall the spa is quaint and peaceful and hubs and I have both really enjoyed their services. They sometimes also offer packages or specials, however even without those, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spa in the Brunswick area!

After calling my regular salon with no luck for a last minute facial I called Pura Vida. I was super impressed how last minute y'all could fit me in, that was much appreciated. I had never been before that and I've lived in Maine for years. I guess the location always threw me. From the exterior, this salon has more of an appearance of a barber shop than a salon and day spa, and after a strange experience at the Looking Glass I was hesitant to try a new place other than At Last (my home turf). However, I was very surprised how clean and comfortable this place was. I'd admit I was a little worried thinking the room for the facial was right behind the closed door and that it would be super loud from the noise of the hairdressers. Much to my pleasure, the lady who did my facial (unfortunately I forgot her name, I would definitely request her again) opened the door that lead to a hallway. The room itself had a great smell to it, hibiscus maybe. The bed was a little stiff and the pillow for my lumbar was much needed. The facial products were great. My favorite was the cucumber toner, I even bought my own bottle afterwards. So overall I had a great time, thank you Pura Vida, you will see me again!
