Calm atmosphere. I showed up early and was offered refreshments and felt very comfortable. I went for a classic facial, done by Ryan, and she made my first spa experience wonderful. She focused on everything I wanted from it, and I left feeling amazing. Only complaint was the receptionist was constantly on her cell phone whenever I went to talk to her.

I was treated to a afternoon by my boyfriend at the spa. Michelle did a wonderful job doing my hair, Jessica did my nails and they still look good after almost three weeks and Stephanie did a great job with my makeup. The girls all made my afternoon very enjoyable and so much fun. Beautiful atmosphere, Highly recommended!

Went in to get my nails done on 4/28 before going on vacation. Today is 5/1 and they have already chipped to the point where I had to take the polish off. I have never had such a poor shellac manicure. Don't do it. It was an expensive manicure and I didn't even get a hand massage or anything. Started a top coat on the nail and ran out before finishing had to change top coats in the middle of my manicure. I wouldnt waste the money again for a shellac manicure to only last 3 days. Very disappointed

I got a facial here on multiple occasions by the amazing Chantal! Not only is she personable, professional, but she's very educated about what she does! You can tell that she loves her job with all her excitement when she talks about products or techniques. They recently redid the place and it feels very happy and comfortable. I highly recommended not only going to Portsmouth day Spa, but getting a facial from her as well!

Unfortunately, my thumb and second finger chipped after 6 days of receiving a very expensive shellac manicure here. My right hand was tacky when I left and I think she may have skipped the last curing under the lights or something and now they have chipped already. It was $48 and I was there under less than 40 minutes. The massage was just my hands. The did get me in last minute though.

Alex is amazing. I stopped in elsewhere on a whim to get a trim bc I couldn't get in that day with Alex and they messed up my hair SO BAD. I will never go to anyone but Alex again. He SAVED my VERY.MESSED.UP hair. The salon is decent in general and the spa is what you would expect from a spa, but their master stylists (especially Alex) and their ongoing deals and coupons is what makes them shine. Great service for great price.

If u get massages regularly. ....not the place to go. Deep tissue didnt even penetrate the surface for me or my girlfriend. It was like we didnt even get a massage at all and they charge top dollar. Then they try to charge me $30 more than what the website says. Will not be going back here ever. Very unprofessional

I went there for a fill on eyelash extensions. I went to suzann who they said is their best. I had a very bad allergic reaction to the fill, I called and they said she would use a different glue. I went back a second time and she didn’t even spend ten minutes with me, my lashes were falling sideways and just a mess with chunks of glue all over my lids. I had an even worse reaction with eyes swelling up and my lids stuck together the next morning. I went to a different salon and they told me that they had to remove them because there was too much glue used and my lashes were glued to each other. She recommended that I call Portsmouth Spa and let them know because they would like to protect the industry. When I called the manager was not in, so I left a message. I called back and the manager was not in again. I left a message and no phone call back. I will be filing a complaint to the board of cosmetology.
