I've been going to Sonrisa for several years now. I'm never going back. Here is what I've learned. I wish I would have read the negative reviews first before going to this Salon. Through the years, all the negative complaints I now read have also happened to me. This has been an eye opening experience. Visit Sonrisa long enough and sooner or later you will have same experiences. Review #1: "Not going back. Met the owner, she's completely fake and unprofessional, and from what I can tell, most of her staff follows suit. Would not recommend." My experience is same. Owner is extremely unprofessional, condescending and fake. Review #2: "...I don't pay $50 for a haircut in the back of a windowless van...that location is trash." Yes, the location is not good. Review #3: "Pretty much a Great Clips hair cut." Yes, I've had similar experiences. Depends upon who you get to cut / color your hair and their day. Plan on, at some point, having color on your forehead and neck that won't come out for days. Review #4: "They cancelled my last appointment, rescheduled for today, made arrangements and they were closed due to weather...myself and a number of other people showed up for our appointments. They could have called or emailed. Very unprofessional." Trust me, they will cancel or reschedule your appointments at will. Oh, and I have sat waiting 40 minutes after my scheduled time before being seen. Your time doesn't matter, theirs does. Review #5: Read Yuki Mcneil's review. What happened to her is disgusting. I had a recent similar experience and this one pretty much sums up Sonrisa Salon and Day Spa's business model.

Initially, I was not happy with my hair color and gave a lower rating. Tracy, the manager, saw my review and contacted me the following day and offered to have the color fixed at no charge by the same stylist, Lauren. I came in the following week and Lauren and I discussed what the issue was and figured out it was just a miscommunication for the initial color. She added more low lights and toned down the highlights a bit and now my hair is beautiful and perfect! Lauren is very nice, bubbly, and easy to talk to. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. It was a true spa experience, and I highly recommend this place and the beautiful Lauren!

I highly recommend this place. Jamie is amazing as a massage therapist. I have been going to her for over 3 years and she knows where you need extra work. I walk in the front door and I'm greeted by my first name. Everyone is nice and friendly and I like that they use organic products. They have added new treatments with the new location and this is a great place for the Northland. I recommend everyone come here for a haircut, massage, facial, or any other treatment.

Ferrara did the most amazing job with my hair and Amy did my brows and was stellar. It isn't a "cheap" place in any sense of the word, and it was totally worth every penny!! Update (10/11/18): No, a thousand times, no. Sonrisa was a top tier salon, but they moved to a new location and I don’t pay $50 for a haircut in the back of a windowless van. There is a fair argument for two stars because the people are nice. But that location is trash. I won’t go back.

I purchased a gift card for a friend that is in the military and recently had a move to a town that I thought was close to Kansas City. I realized very soon after purchasing the gift card online that my friend was actually almost 2 hours away. Since she has a young baby, I knew that it wouldn't be doable for her. Within 24 hours of purchasing the gift, I emailed Sonrisa Salon and asked them if I could cancel my purchase. The person that answered back was polite and said that the owner would contact me. Well, long story short, my husband made multiple calls to the owner. She was very difficult to get in touch with and at returning our calls. She was not happy about giving us a refund and told us there would be something like a 20% fee through paypal. We were willing to pay that since no one would be using the gift anyway. She ended up never returning our calls and never canceling the gift card/refunding our money. I am totally aware that it isn't a right of the customer to receive a return but I do believe that it is good business practice, especially since I contacted them almost immediately after purchasing the gift card. I am really disappointed with how this situation was handled and even more disappointed that I have a gift card to this spa!

Friend and I had massages and both walked out saying that it was a great massage! One of the best we have had. I am very particular about my massages because I prefer heavy pressure, and Chelsea delivered! Amazing experience!

This was my first visit at Sonrisa Salon and definitely not my last. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and the overall friendliness of the staff. Usually I don't like the chit chat that comes with going to a salon/spa because a lot of times it feels like forced conversation, here this was not the case. I had Erin, not only did she actually listen to what it was that I wanted done but she was so genuine. She didn't give me the usual "well I don't know if we can do that to your hair" speech which just comes to show her level of skill! I am so excited to have found this place! If I could I would give it 10 stars rating!

Every time I go to Sonrisa, it's like I am on a mini-vacation. Whether it's for a massage, reflexology, hair, ...I'm totally delighted. I don't have any 'favorite' people there because the owner, Karen, chooses excellent people to work with. The new location is to die for and it has such a great energy that I just want to go hang out! They have added so many cool new spa services. It's rewarding to know that I can get so pampered and yet not harm myself or the environment with their using only green products. Can't wait to come for my next appointment!!!

I had an appointment with Kathy for a manicure. I was very pleased with the service. Kathy was very professional and personal. I don't know what brand of polish I selected but it lasted almost 2 weeks. I was very pleased.
