I went to this shop for the second time in 3 weeks yesterday and I am very disappointed. My first experience was wonderful and my nails were great. This time not so much... I arrived on a Sunday at about 1:30. The shop wasn't too busy but as soon as I walked in I was told to go to a booth, there was some wait time but I didn't mind. The receptionist was in a rush when starting my nails ( I tried to tell him I didn't mind waiting) He immediately grabbed an extra course file for the drilled and sawed away at my natural nail beds leaving them very sensitive and rigid. He then proceeded to glue on the tips and cut them way too short and uneven (I asked for almond shape nails) at this point he had gotten up several times to help the people walking in and was telling me numerous times that he was just so busy... I wanted to walk out. He then had a young woman who clearly was not used to doing full sets of nails. I wasn't once asked if I wanted anything to drink as I watched everyone else around me be pampered. The experience has shocked me to the point that I will never go back in there... Knowing that my nails look like the pistachio nail meme but painted blue they still charged me $45. I didn't mention wanting any thing I just find it very wrong. This guy knew what he was doing all of the other women nail techs knew and was watching this girl do my nails.. Never again.

These guys are amazing! Good customer service and amazing work. I am so super happy with how mine and my daughters nails came out. I know I have chubby fingers and other salons have botched them and left them looking like Kuala nails. But these guys gave me the prettiest nails I've ever had, just beautiful!

I went there today with other three friends and we spent more than $260 to do our nails. At first I asked the lady owner if she or her sister can do my nails and her answer was “yes” . But end up it’s someone else did my nails. Then there was a little confusion happened so the owner took over and rushed finished my nails. It took total an hour just to finish my finger nails . However it turned out very disappointed. iT Is VERY UNEVEN. Very UNEVEN length. Very UNEVEN Thickness. Very uneven shape too. The guy is kinda nice and said we can fix for u. But I refused because i don’t have another one hour to fix them all. ( Because there are only two finger nails looks ok. ).but then the owner lady came and said she did her best and said I rushed her first? This was a horrible experience I ever had. Worst nails I ever had done at nails shop . Worst customer service I ever had . And I will never and ever go back there again. I will never recommend my friends go there either.

The young lady did put a lot of effort into my nails but they did not come out very good. I would rather her tell she couldn't do it than to try because I had other ideas I wanted to try. She did an awesome job on my toes, though.

Always clean and friendly! The tools come out of surgical sterilization packets. And always a full staff, so I've never had to wait for services. They are extra awesome with eyebrow waxing. My daughter and I stopped by to have her nails dipped with tips and I got a pedicure (we are from out of town and we’re on a trip for her birthday). The only reason this place deserves 1 star instead of none is because they were fast. My daughters nails were lumpy and they cut her in 3 places, one of which looks infected. And my toes were cut in two places. My middle toe is so painful! It looks as if polish is on it however it’s cut along with the toe next to it. They charged $20 more for gel polish (not worth $20) and didn’t tell me until I was in the middle of my pedicure or I never would have gotten one in the first place!!

I’ve been here several times, and had a few visits I really enjoyed and a few visits that seemed a bit rushed. But, after my last visit I will not be back. I was wearing a gel manicure, and Nancy removed it without soaking or using any acetone at all. She just used the electric file on my natural nails. Then she rushed through applying powder, and rushed me out the door. My natural nails are very thin now that I’ve had the powder taken off. The weird part is that Nancy had done my nails before, and it was a very pleasant experience that I very much enjoyed. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all. Even if you think you find someone you like, the next visit might be really awful.

I have been in the beauty industry for 13 years and I am an extremely picky person when it comes to my nails on top of that, finding a place that does my nails so well that I can't imagine touching a file to them is unheard of! I came in there looking like a mess and they were nothing but kind as I came in one of my most insecure states. The woman doing my nails made me feel comfortable even though I looked like a stray rooster wandering in. My nails lasted a long time and getting them done was super fast and easy. The only thing I would mention to bring to their attention is that there seemed to be an enormous amount of red-pink nail polish and other colors were very very limited. I don't understand why there is so much red!

This is by far the best nail salon that I have ever been to. I have been going here since the new owners took over and they are fantastic. The salon is bright and cheerful. Staff is friendly, courteous and funny. I have even taken my granddaughter here and she loves it. When she had her nails done the last time, we had a problem with them but they kept redoing them until they came up with a solution. As long as Randy and Tracy own this salon, I will NEVER go anywhere else.

Awful. My 2 sisters, mom, and I go and get our nails done there every 2 weeks. A lady did my nails and as soon as I got home, I noticed white spots everywhere on my nails. Something must've been wrong with the nail polish. So I go in there today, show them pictures and wanted it taken off and they not only wouldn't fix them for free, but they wouldn't take it off for free either!They just lost $160 every 2 weeks counting my mom, sisters, and me.

Had a horrible experience! First, I had made an appointment at 9am. I get there and the guy told me to go sit in a booth. I sat there for about 20mins waiting on someone to start on my nails. I asked if it would take much longer he said no, the guy was ln his way. Employee got there about 930. Then I choose a color and they told me they’re almost out of color i wanted so they only put one coat of gel. Color looks horrible. One coat looks like unfinished work. 3rd I had a broken nail. The guy didn’t even bother fixing it. 4th problem the nail polish of my thumb was coming off not even 24hrs of getting them done. So yea, I would never go back to this place again.

They just didn't fix the one nail they took them all off and gave me a brand new set. FREE of charge. They have amazing customer service. Rushed in rushed out. Pedicure was so so. Had brows waxed. Did it from chair not even in room with lighting. She was very rough. Got hot wax on my arm. Stuck me in the eye she was so rough and rushed. When i asked her to pluck some hairs from my brow she told me i didn't want to do that because it would make my brow too thin. That is exactly what i wanted to do. She was one of the owners and quiet rude. I have been going there for a few years and this place is hot and cold with their services. I don't plan on returning. If you decide to go to this place be ready for anything. Could be good. Could be bad. You won't know what you are going to get when you walk through their doors.

Edited: I gave this place 5 stars because of how great they did my mother in laws nails and how they gave us margaritas, etc. they told us that they give great eyelash extensions. I asked them if they used eyelash safe goue(so my real lashes wouldn’t rip off). They assured me that they used great and trusted glue and that when I was tired of the lashes, you could easily pull the lashes off. I’ve had eye lashes extensions before and you can simply use coconut oil to slide the lashes off after wearing them for a couple weeks. So we both gave it a go. They looked uneven but they were cute enough to ignore the small flaws. The eyelashes were heavy and hardddddddd. But again, they were cute. 2 weeks later, after constant agitation to our eyes, we decided to take them out. I used a large amount of coconut oil to try to get them off but ZERO luck. Used every oil and remover made... zero luck! So then I came to the realization that I’d have to pull my real lashes off to get them off. My eye lids bled and I am almost completely bald now. I am FURIOUS!!!!! I studied the glue used, and it honestly was super glue or something because my real lashes would NOT let loose even after they were off of my skin!! So because of the lies and the fact that I’m a naked mole rat now.... lost all of my gorgeous REAL lashes... I giving this place one star. This is ridiculous! But the nail service was fine.

I have been to many nail salons all over this city this is the only one I will go back to from now on as long as Randy and Tracy own it because they understand the meaning of customer service. I have been searching for a "decent" nail salon here in Kansas City for the past few years. It has not been easy, as my experiences have been very disappointing! Right up until I walked into Rock Star Nails! This is the BEST and I do mean the BEST my nails have ever looked! I had Randy do a pink and white back fill and his wife Tracy painted a free hand design. They look so lovely and I can tell that they will last for a very long time. All of that aside...they treated me like I was a "rock star". Asking my name, offering me a cocktail or glass of wine, overall making my nail salon experience the best ever! I highly recommend this salon! They are top notch!!!

Wow! I have never had a bad experience at this salon. A few days ago I had to get six stitches in my middle finger and was just going to have them not do that nail today. However, they said they could and were incredibly gentle and nice about it (despite it not looking the prettiest and the nail being bruised). Everyone that works there is always incredibly friendly and helpful. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would!

Moving from Houston I was having trouble finding a nail shop here in KC that's on top of trend. Finally found Rockstar & will be driving two hours every two weeks to come to them. They filed my gel nails off w/o soaking them, and it was painful. It's usually good service, but not when they do that. Also the last time I went in the man who works there was doing a dip manicure on a woman next to me. She asked him to file it down because it was still in that stage where it looks like plado on your nail and he was rude and cocky and argued with her for the rest of the time. Even when he did what she asked he said "see and now it doesn't look as good?" He was more stuck on making his point and being right then making sure she just liked her nails. Not only was she clearly ticked off but it made it awkward for the entire salon because everyone could hear.

They did an amazing job on my nails. I got dipping powder with tips and it was my first time going there since I never had a favorite nail salon, but I think I found one. The lady who did my nails made sure I was satisfied with the shape and the quality of the nail. My boyfriend went with me and they offered us a drink. That was amazing! I’ve never gone to a nail salon that has offered me a beverage. Usually always after I get my nails done, I always complain about what I think looks wrong with my nails and in the end I’m never really satisfied. But this time I’m loving everything!

Editing my review, first one is in pics and was only 4 stars, but I've been three times now and HAD to give them 5. I got a dip for the first time today, and have you seen a more perfect job? The answer is no. That shine. That even shape. That exquisite point. Tracy did mine today and she is Queen of my beauty world right now. GO SEE HER. The last time, I got acrylics and a pedi and unfortunately did not catch the name of the goddesses who pampered me that day. ALSO EXQUISITE. My nails never lifted or cracked and I waited a full month before going back today. I use my hands a ton and have always had the nails lift. This place is for sure top notch!

They always turn out BEAUTIFUL... and they are only $22 for a full new set of acrylics... But it does take 1-2 hours to get them done.. Plus and time that you have to wait. . So you will need about 3 hours total cleared in your day to get your acrylics done.

Pretty nice nail salon. The people were friendly, they offer drinks, even wine. I got my brows done also and they turned out okay. I'm just surprised that eye brow waxing cost $12. That's a little high in my opinion. Overall, my first time their was pretty good. I will probably be going back.

My daughter just moved to this area we saw this nice nail shop we've been about 4 times each and every time something small happens but this last time we will never be back and every time we get our nails done somehow a nail always pops off no matter who does our nails we lose at least one nail every time we go we tell him about it and they still never did anything different we gave them multiple chances so we will never go back the place is nice the people or okay but the whole reason for getting your nails done is for them to look nice in the stay on and they never stay on I'll never go back

Best place to pamper yourself. my wife and I have been coming there for a year, and we always have the best experience every time we get there. They always pay attention on what they are doing and make sure that you are pleased by their service. They always keep the shop clean and nice. The staffs are very sweet, kind and friendly, and they make us feel just like our family. We are always happy whenever we come there. I highly recommend.

Very kind staff and the lady who did my nails did a wonderful job. I like that they had music videos on the tv rather than just cable since I don't watch tv anyway. Plus, they gave me drinks like wine and a margarita while I was getting them done. Small cups but they kept them coming. I'm definitely coming back!

Very attentive staff. If you're short on time, make an appointment, otherwise expect to wait a little before your turn. I've never felt ignored, rushed or uncomfortable as they are really good about prioritizing the person in the chair. Other places want to rush people out as fast they come in but not here. They also have a punch card system that pays off if you're a regular!

Kind people, lovely atmosphere and great work done! Went in last week to get gel polish put on. Unfortunately the polish began to chip about 6 days later. I called them and they immediately got me in to not just fix the chipped nails, but completely redo them all at no charge. Great nail salon that stands by their work!

I went here because they were the only place I could find that took Amex. I am so glad I came here. I only get pink and whites, it is so hard to find a place here that does them well. I had Danny and he did a fantastic job, I was a walk in and got seated and worked on within 4 min. I always have a problem with nail techs not filling in my edges but Danny payed close attention to the edges and made sure they were perfect. I didn't even have to ask him to! His attention to detail and his quickness shows he has been doing this a long time. Usually pink and whites take about an hour, he was done in about 40min! He rushed but the quality was not. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that he is a little heavy handed with the nail file and buffer, it hurt a little and my skin around my nails took a little flack from it, I have ugly cuticles so it's easy to rub them raw. I would have just suggested he slows down when he does the buffing part as it was a little uncomfortable on my newly done nails. He also cut them the length I want (I prefer shorter nails in my line of work) they were all even and matched each other perfectly. Very much worth the price! He deserves a big tip if you see him.

It took a second for someone to come start my pedicure, but it was a really comfortable waiting, they were so friendly and nice! My pedicure was fast and the lady who helped me was so sweet I will definitely be back!

It was my first time going to Rockstar Nails & Spa the other day, and I was very happy with my choice to change nail salons to this one. I will definitely be going back as a regular to get my gel fills :) The technicians were very kind and worked with my friend and I to make sure it was what we wanted. She kept asking me the whole time if it looked good, and it definitely did! I have never had my nails look so good before. I highly recommend! They even offered us drinks which was super cool.

I was very disappointed with my experience. I go to this place regularly because of their prices and its a clean environment. On my last visit I went to get a gel manicure and pedicure. My cuticle was cut open to the point where it was bleeding. Then when I was getting my pedicure done the lady doing it sliced my foot open with the grater where it was bleeding as well. I get monthly pedicures to where I dont have much dead skin on my feet. She was talking to her friend and not paying attention to all the live skin she was grating off my foot. I had to bring to her attention that there was blood running down my foot. She apologized profusely but it is her job to not hurt me. I went there for a relaxing experience and instead left in pain with my finger and foot with open wounds that have yet to heal a week later. I wont be returning.
