Tried out His and Her Salon for the first time and have been to many Aveda Salons over the years and this was just ok. I was only there for a colour so while I cannot speak for all services, the colour turned out ok. However it definitely wasn't a spa experience, like I have had at other salons. The nice touches like the head massage prior to starting, or a hand massage while waiting for colour to set, or even a scalp massage while having my hair washed wasn't part of the experience. It's too bad, as this salon isn't cheap and I incorrectly assumed these nice touches would be part of the experience so I did leave somewhat disappointed. If you are looking for just a colour with Aveda, check this place out. If you want a nice salon experience as you get your hair coloured, you will have to look elsewhere.

I was greatly disappointed in the customer service I received today. Today I had an appointment for a massage. Apparently my massage therapist called in sick. I was told they tried calling me to let me know of the sittuation, but I did not see the call and NO voicemail was left. So, I showed up this afternoon for my appointment to only look like a fool as the representative rudely let me know that my massage therapist was sick and she tried to call Me. She made me feel the sittuation was my fault I didn’t receive the call and no voicemail was left. I left very unsatisfied with no apology and no one trying to make up for the situation. I understand these things happen, but more should have been done so I didn’t wait around all day for a massage I would never receive and also be talked to very rudely by the representative behind the counter. I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with how I was treated today, very poor customer service.

Got a sweet treat gift card as a gift. Because the cashier who sold my husband the gift card rang it up wrong I had to pay extra when i left. Not upset to pay extra. Upset that they were told exactly what was wanted and they said nothing till after. Also cashier with too much lipstick was rude. Was supposed to receive call from manager...didnt happen. Wont be returning.

deep tissue was great. she was flexible on what parts of the body I wanted to leave out. it was a bit pricey but the customer service and facilities make up for that. very clean very professional very welcoming.

I am a patron of this salon for as long as I can remember from haircuts to expensive product to the best massage I had ever had. So I wanted to do something nice for my daughter who just had a baby and bought her a gift certificate for a massage. Meanwhile I received a gift cert. for a massage at a different place for myself for my birthday and it was so horrific and I'm sure the gal that did mine was mentally unstable that I shared my story with my daughter who I assumed got the same great massage at His & Hers as I did back when I had mine. But to my horror she shares her massage nightmare with me and I wont include all the nightmare but this gal who first of all is allergic to scents so no aroma therapy in this session shared the fact her crack head son got some stripper pregnant and they don't even know if it is his. This gal also continued to drop the F bomb through this whole horrible massage while telling her sorted dysfunctional family affairs. I felt just sick knowing the money I spent and it was not cheap led to this horrible experience for my daughter. I called the salon and the manager seemed to be very upset over this news and said she would talk to the owner and get back to me. Over a week later I get a call and her and the owner had a "talk" with the masseuse (I use that term loosely) who stated that my daughter asked about her family. (Who the heck asks questions of the masseuse during a massage?) Certainly not my daughter who is a very private and quiet person. The manager said they had other people complain that this employee talked too much during the session. I told her she should have asked her customers just what she talked about. And now for the best part. She offered my daughter 20% off a massage at the salon from a different person while that same gal is still employed there. (IS SHE FAMILY?) and they have a 20% sale off massage going on anyway she told me. I told her we absolutely did not want a massage if she was still employed there and they should have given me my money back, I am just shocked at the way I was treated and the manager said "She was sorry to loose a good customer". Well she is loosing 2 actually and I can not phantom why you would keep an employee who conducted business this way. They should be ashamed this happened and they are so not. I hope others read this and take heed,

Great deep tissue massage with Maria (and I am a tough judge). Knowledgeable, professional therapist. Massage room was very warm, inviting suite with lounging area with dry sauna next door. Receptionist very welcoming, professional and prepared for my visit.

My husband and I never had professional massages before coming here so we didnt know what to expect. Becky and Josey were our massage therapists and they were amazing! They used a lot of pressure (which is what we both really needed). The atmosphere was very calming, staff were all super friendly and welcoming, and they took their time making sure to get every spot thoroughly. We will absolutely start going to them regularly.

My wife and I scheduled a couples massage with Josey and Maria. Both massages were wonderful. Both adapt what they do to our specific issues. Josey and Maria asked us questions to ensure they understood what we needed and if we had any issues that they should be aware of. They regularly check during the massage to ensure they're meeting our needs. Great experience.

This Salon did 7 updo's for my wedding. Out of the 7, we had to have 5 of them redone after they left the Salon. It made the wedding day very stressful and ran the day behind. One of my bridesmaids complained that the stylist was unprofessional and talked about vulgar topics with profanity. The updo's that were done were not professional looking, nor even close to what everyone wanted. Very outdated updo's. Not a single person that had their hair done for the wedding recommended using them. They were paid over $500 for services we had to have redone because they were not capable of fixing the hair to make it look nice.

Great service! Very friendly workers from the receptionist to the massage therapist. The facilities were very clean and welcoming and the massage was extremely relaxing. I appreciated the bathroom in the massage room and the music and the oils were all very calming. Highly recommended!

I had an appt for a facial and pedicure. I had a horrible headache the day of my appointment but did not want to cancel. I was 20 minutes early for my appointment and they let me go into the room for my facial and rest instead of waiting in the waiting area. They made me a warm cup of tea to help with my headache. I was very impressed with how caring they were when I told them I had a headache. The facial and pedicure were absolutely amazing. Jazmuyn and Michael (I am not sure how you spell her name) - both did a fabulous job. The staff is friendly, the spa is very clean and they are very skilled at their job.

I had Racheal ( I believe that was her name) yesterday, she was amazing! I had a pedicure, shampoo, haircut and style ....She made me feel welcome, ( as it was my very first time to going to one of these places) She knew about the products and she made sure I was happy with my service. I would definitely recommend going to her. She absolutely made me want to go back! As far as the business goes, the customer service was great and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing .

I wanted a special treat for my daughter’s 15th birthday, so I got her and a friend a pedicure and facial. The girls enjoyed them but scheduling was a nightmare. One was scheduled for 8:15 and then another for 1:00. We live out of town so we had to fill time in between, when we got there for our 1:00 appointment they were not ready and said it would be at least another half hour. They called 3 times to confirm our appointments but never gave us the respect of letting us know they were running late. I feel this is not a good practice for business. They also wanted me to pay before the last appointment with a 20% tip which I would not have given

April is the best esthetician in Topeka! I have been booking with her for about two years now and my skin looks better than it's ever looked. She will suggest the best products for you to use and knows her stuff. I always book the double exfoliating facial and my skin looks and feels amazing when I leave. Mani & Pedi - BUYER BEWARE! The pedicure I received was given by a hair stylist (Elga I think was her name) who was trained to do pedicures on-the-job and said she has been doing them for about two months. She admitted that she did not go to school for nails, that His & Her Salon wants their employees to be versatile. I feel tricked by this 'day spa' because I received a really lousy pedicure. She is definitely not up to speed and needs way more practice before she is actually working on clients. Whoever trained her at His & Her Salon and thought that she was ready to provide pedicures to people, who are paying a lot of money for a 'day spa' pedicure, should be ashamed of themselves as well as the salon owner. The shellac manicure I received was given by an experience nail person. However, she did not 'clip' my cuticles or trim around the nails with those little clippers, she only pushed the cuticles back dry (which hurts!). The shellac manicure is $35 and you don't get a "manicure", you get a polish. That's basically it. Completely disappointed with this 'day spa'. I paid $70. Definitely not worth it. I could have saved $25 bucks and went to the mall for a mani-pedi. BUYER BEWARE!
