I am not new to massages. My preference is deep tissue which is what I told the massage therapist, Corey. My reason for such a bad review is due to a few things. First, lack of experience. Corey informed me that his specialty was “deep tissue.” I asked him to focus on my neck and shoulders. His response, “why”. I told him why and he proceeds to continuously rub my back and around my scapula. He barely ever addressed my neck and tops of my shoulders as I had requested. I had to repeatedly tell him where to focus the massage and yet he did not fulfill my request. It was clear by his technique that he did not have experience with deep tissue massages. That is fine with me, but do not tell me your specialty is deep tissue. Secondly, the language. Not only did he proceed to talk through my whole massage, but the language was unprofessional. At one point he got on the massage table. Where this went completely wrong was when I told him to get off of me because he was so close. I could feel him breathing in my ear and he touched his check to mine. I told him he needed to get off of me and off the table. At that point, I was done with the massage. It was not relaxing and not what I requested. When your done, someone comes around literally bangs on the door to alert the massage therapist that time has expired. Jarring to say least, but I was not relaxed and over my experience by this point.
A massage is a paid professional service. So yes, for a paid service I do have expectations, and at least, expect the one rendering the service to be professional and listen to the customer. These were just a few of the “highlights” from my visit to Real Look Med Spa. I will not be back and would definitely NOT recommend.
