I've had several therapists. All were quite professional. Some stronger and more stamina than others over 90 minute period. Some customers like to talk and you can hear all they say. So, don't always expect complete silence even with music playing. Want an excellent deep-tissue massage?. This is the place.

Went in for a couples massage and my boyfriend was sooo uncomfortable they give him his grandmother . Not literally but old enough. Not saying there anything wrong with that but they should ask what you prefer. The pair we had was like the odd couple. Didn't want to be rude so we went along with it. It definitely turned out to be comical at least. Laughed soo hard about the experience. Not what we expected neither was able to relax for our 90 min. Not feeling that place. .

This was my first professional massage ever, so take my review how you want. I had a very good experience with the whole process. I booked on the mind body app which I find makes things much easier for massage, Yoga, fitness classes, and cryotherapy. Once I came in at my scheduled time they took care of me immediately. There was limited availability, so I could only book 30mins, but that's because I booked the same day. The massage therapist was very friendly and did a fantastic job with my massage. She went out of her way to get to my sore legs on limited time. She was excellent! I don't think this is a luxury place, but for a quick, very good massage I highly recommend it!

Just had an amazing massage from Anwar. He is an amazing massage therapist as well as a pleasure to speak with. I walked in tight and walked out relaxed, stretched and feeling like a new person. Great experience from calling in to schedule, being checked in at my visit to leaving relaxed. Thank you !Update Nov 2019-I am completely satisfied with massages here but dealing with the desk staff is not a fun experience. Multiple calls and finally the only person to answer my questions and get my prepaid sessions back was the owner. He was wonderful and corrected the issue and got me scheduled. The therapists are great to bad the desk staff not so much.

Haven't had experience with others but everyone is always professional. They listen to me, address any aches and pains I have, applying the right pressure and techniques. I am always more relaxed and pain free when I leave.

This was the worst massage I’ve ever had and my massage therapist, DJ did not know how to give a deep tissue massage! She didn’t know the difference between digging into bones versus knots. She didn’t find one knot in my back even though I told her this was a problem area for me. Instead she slid her elbow onto the bones in my back. It was awful. She actually tried to massage my shin bone by sliding her forearm down my shin as hard as she could. I couldn’t believe it. I had to tell her that putting all her pressure on my shin bone didn’t feel good. All she did do was put tons of oil on my body and rub it in while leaving my entire body exposed from head to toe instead of massaging sections of my body, one at a time, making sure I was warm and comfortable. I was so upset with my experience that I wanted to tell the manager so I called him 3 times over the course of 3 weeks and left messages with the front desk but he didn’t call back once. So here I am writing my review on line. Don’t make the same mistake I did by coming here. It was the first time in my life that I wanted to get up and walk out of a massage but I didn’t want to be rude because DJ was a nice person. I highly doubt she was “trained” in this type of massage. This was a waste of money. I am writing this so other people avoid being disappointed in their services from this place as well.

I got a gift to get a couples massage for my wedding for my wife and I , called to book was on the phone for an hour booking with the owner jermaine , received a call from Christine to say he didn’t book our appointment properly and that she had to change it , only to arrive to unfriendly faces , and again said we came at the wrong time we paid extra to receive a 90 minute massage to only receive an hour , my package was supposed to include wine and aromatherapy ,didn’t receive any of it , the room was cold the massage oil was freezing , the music kept shutting off , so unprofessional and unorganized. Above all I just hope the next person reads the reviews and stays clear away from the unprofessional establishment!! If your thinking of giving a package from here as a gift to someone please do not !!!

I have been seeing Lily for several months now, and she is excellent! She is very versatile, from deep tissue work to gentler massages for general maintenance or relaxation. She listens and pays attention to any areas I feel like need extra work, but can also figure out the areas that need focus during visits where I can’t pinpoint a particular area of soreness. I always leave feeling miles better than when I went in, and she gives good suggestions for things to try at home too. Easy to schedule appointments and the membership is very cost effective. Only issues I have are that the rooms are not very sound proofed, so you can hear other customers talking if they are loud, and I wish they would fix the bathroom inside their office. Is annoying to use the hallway bathroom with its bright lights and loud hand driers when you come out of your massage feeling relaxed.

I've been coming here for roughly 3 weeks. I don't know if that's excessive but it works for me. I've had the full body massage as well as reflexology and recently cupping. All were awesome and I was totally relaxed. I had never heard of cupping before last week and I'm glad I tried it. It helps the toxins in your body and it was a great experience. I feel great. I'm getting all 3 today. Clean and affordable and very professional.

Nice staff, good prices, the rooms could use some modernizing. The equipment was a bit out dated. No heat in the room made it very uncomfortable. The bathroom was out of service. Needs improvement but not a terrible experience.

A very relaxing experience With an abundant supply of arthritic and other complaints, I went to A Balanced Life Massage today seeking some relief. I also have had numerous surgeries after a dissolute life with HS and college athletics and, to be frank, I was hurting. After an hour, I left feeling drained and a bit like one of what I call "puddle" puppies who look so relaxed as to have been poured into a melting heap. I was fixing my thoughts on a nap before dinner. After awaking, I felt that familiar warmth and relaxation that one frequently gets from a good massage, in the hands of a practiced professional. The facility was inviting and clean and the whole experience was very rewarding and satisfying. I would rate the overall experience as being one of the top five massages that I have received in about six different countries. I would grade the experience with a B+/A- and it was very well worth the cost which, in this case, involved a Groupon.

Just stopped in for a 90 minute massage with Brian and it was fantastic, great atmosphere, very professional. Like some of the other comments mentioned it was not complete quiet in the massage room but definitely not loud enough to disturb your relaxation. Highly recommend.

Paid for a 60 minute couples massage, got a 30 minute one. EDIT TO THE BUSINESS'S RELPY: I arrived 30 minutes early when I was told to come 15 minutes early. And we were still taken back for the massage 5 minutes prior to the start time. It lasted 30 minutes after that.

I highly recommend the membership here. $45 a month gets you a one-hour massage and discounts on additional massages. I've been going for over a year and I'm very happy with my experience. The staff is very helpful and the massages are great!

Busy office and one person at the front desk at any given time. Leave them a VM instead of calling several times and hanging up. They’ll be happy to return your phone call. Even email them!!! They are a popular place. By the way don’t go through Groupon. I’ve learned Groupons can only be booked on the weekdays and not all therapists take them. They can set you up so call them. Leave them that VM! By joining their membership program, I automatically have a massage set aside once a month just waiting for me to schedule for. Of course if I don’t come in that month my massage rolls over to the following month. Becoming a member assures I get discounted massages, including premium massages like Hot Stone, Lomi Lomi or Mu Xing. Coming in regularly I’ve noticed relief from the muscle pain in my shoulders, improved circulation in my hands, and over all an increased range of motion. Treat yourself! They offer great prices and services even after your first visit rate. Don’t let the lower reviews below sway you. They’re grumpy and in need of more massages! -Asha

Rebecca and I had our first massage experience and were lucky enough to have it at A Balanced Life Massage in Wilmington. We signed up for a Couples Massage with Brian and Patricia. They reached out to us to make sure we were as comfortable with our first experience as we could be. They asked us what we might prefer and what we wanted avoided. Occasionally through the process they would confirm that we were comfortable and/ or had proper pressure applied. I would most definitely recommend this company again and plan on visiting again.

First time going to A Balanced Life Massage, and it was a wonderful experience. My therapist, Pat, was the most kind, understanding, and accommodating therapist I've had. I'm a 4 year breast cancer survivor and it's difficult for me to lay comfortably on my stomach. It's difficult to find a massage therapist who specializes in post-mastectomy massage, and while she was not a specialist in this field, she tried what I suggested and did a wonderful job. I've had therapists in the past refuse to change their personal techniques, but she did everything she could to make me comfortable. I also found out afterward that the owner specializes in some post surgery massages. I will definitely be returning!

I wanted to do a couples massage and before booking through Groupon I called the parlor. I was told that I can schedule the same massages (which includes wine for 2 and aroma therapy) directly instead of going through Groupon, so I did. We did not receive aroma therapy or wine. I mentioned this at checkout and instead of being helped I was directed by front desk staff to complain to the owner via email as he was the one who booked the massages. I wrote an email and have not heard back.. it's been approximately a month. Very poor customer service. Massages were amateur at best.

I went back to A Balanced Life for the first time in about three years. My first visit was at the old location off of Silverside Road. My first time there was incredible, and I vowed to eventually go back to A Balanced Life as a "splurge" on myself, since I went to several other "cheaper" places in the three year period of time. However, I went back last Saturday (November 25, 2017), and was not impressed by the new location. The room was very small and cramped, and quite noisy from the close proximity to the entrance. My therapist was not very talkative, which is fine, but she was sniffling and coughing the entire 60 minutes. Needless to say it was not very relaxing. In addition, she sat on a stool almost the entire massage, and every time the stool moved it rumbled and made such a racket. Also, the stool did not seem to provide her with the proper leverage to give me a very effective deep tissue massage.I have had several massages in my life, and this is the first massage that I did not feel relaxed afterwards. As a matter of fact, I felt very annoyed and out of sorts that I spent my hard earned money to get more stressed and out of sorts. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I have been going to a balanced life for years and thoroughly enjoyed my experience, but over my last 3 visits something has changed. It has not been a relaxing experience at all. One therapist spent my 90min session sneezing and coughing on me. The 2nd therapist talked the entire visit. It was like hearing a commercial on a loop. He also cut my session short, until I mentioned that it was 90min not 60. My last visit, I left in a lot of pain although I requested a Swedish massage. I told him in the consult that I really wanted a relaxing massage and he said "I can tell what kind of pressure you need". I spent the next 60min tense and wincing through pain and asking for breaks.Although over the years I'd has great experiences, I will not be back.

I can't say enough about how ABLM has a massage experience for everyone. You could go every day for 2 weeks and experience a different type of massage, a different masseuse each day until you find what you like. And the membership saves lots of money and excuses. D.J. probably gave me the best massage I’ve ever had! First, she really listened to me when I requested the areas which needed the most attention. I recently had a knee replacement and she was gentle and very cautious to ensure the knee was stable and protected. Most importantly, I was quite impressed with her strength and ability to provide deep massage to specific areas which were holding stress. D.J. Is a young massage therapist who will use her strength and obvious training to make a person glad they received a high quality massage by her. Oh and everyone who works there is professional, courteous and friendly. It’s a calm environment and I’m so pleased I tried it (thanks Groupon). Excellent!

Tables are worn out. Atmosphere is dated and old. Masseuse smelled like tobacco smoke and had freezing cold hands from coming in from a smoke break right at 4:28pm. My appointment was at 4:30pm. Hand and stone is world's better and right across the street. First and last time going.

I get regular massages (1-2 times per month). I've been to many and even had a membership to other massage places in the area. I can honestly say this is a great place. It's a professional office in building offers a calming atmosphere with none of the chaos or noise that happens when you go to a salon/spa. I believe my massage therapist is genuinely interested in my health and well-being. We work together to solve trouble spots that come from 8-10 hours a day at a computer. After each massage, he offers recommendations on stretches and workouts to help ease tension and stress. I finally feel like I have a ally interested in helping me improve my health through massage. They also offer on-line booking with weekend hours which is a bonus.
