I personally would never go back to this spa. It is overpriced, under serviced, with rude staff! Go to the Four Seasons and save yourself the trip!

So my wife and I came to Denver for our 3rd anniversary trip and I surprised her with the “Couples Spa Escape” here on 10/24, it was a Thursday. I’ll just say the whole experience was really nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. I wanted to write a review to give some insight into the whole experience for others who are potentially looking into this since their website doesn’t have much about this specific spa experience. So the couples spa escape is mostly your typical couples spa experience, plus one unique addition I haven’t seen anywhere else thus far. It entails a 50 minute massage and 25 minute body scrub, which are two treatments basically continued seamlessly together. The massage is pretty much what you’d expect. The body scrub was something we had never done and it turned out to be very nice and enjoyable. After both of those, there is a shower right in the room with some 12 wall jets and 4 on the ceiling that they turn on for you and give you plenty of time to enjoy. This was a very nice part of the experience we had no idea was included. Now the unique part of the experience being that the massage and scrub end after they close, so you have some time to enjoy the steam room, hot tub, relaxation area, etc. together with no one else, in either the men’s or women’s side. They also have 2 glasses of champagne waiting for you afterward. The only downside to this is that you only have 30 minutes, and you’ve already showered off the body scrub and you feel clean and your skin feels great, so you don’t really want to sweat like crazy in the steam room or hot tub. This is where we got lucky. We showed up for the 6:45pm appointment at 5:15 to enjoy the facilities separately on our respective gendered sides beforehand. Although since it was a Thursday, there were no other appointments that day so we had the entire spa to ourselves from 5:15pm until we left at 8:50. So, they allowed us both to go into the women’s side and enjoy it together until our appointment. That really made the whole experience next level, but keep in mind this was some luck and is no guarantee by any means. But, if you book on a non busy day and get lucky, it will make the experience that much better as you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy everything and you can just chill out after your massage. Being able to both enjoy the spa facilities that are usually separated by gender was what set this apart for me as I haven’t seen that offered anywhere else yet.

This ritz is absolutely terrible and their spa is just another example of why. We had so many issues with the rest of the hotel customer service I thought I’d go down to the spa and relax. The spa itself is underwhelming. The whirl pool was room temperature at best. It’s Colorado in the winter isn’t it supposed to be a HOT tub?! I was freezing. The steam room didn’t work. And my service provider was late and the time came out of MY service! How is that right?!?! It was short and choppy. And when I tried to express my unhappiness at the reception the guy behind the counter just shrugged and handed me my bill. I would expect much more from the ritz. I’ll be sticking to the four seasons from now.

Underwhelming amenities and a bad massage. I received a horrible massage with COLD oil. I asked for warmed oil, but was told that it couldn't be warmed because it would break down the product. The massage table is not heated and the blanket is thin. I was freezing the entire time and I'm not someone who is usually cold. The "relaxation lounge" is just a small room with a chair, a couch, and a small table with poor excuses for snacks. A jar of dried apricots, yogurt pretzels, a weird trail mix that was mostly coconut flakes, and a pitcher of plain water. For my dry exfoliation, she used a wooden brush with bristles that looked very difficult to disinfect. I didn't see the brush until after the massage was over and I'm pretty upset that it was used. She brushed the bottoms of my feet before working her way up my legs. Why feet first? And how many other feet have you scrubbed with that brush?! Gross. Other spas will give you the brush or gloves that were used because they shouldn't be used on multiple people. I was supposed to receive a scalp treatment. She rubbed a dot of something on the top of my head, rubbed about a 2 inch circle around it, and that was all. No scalp massage, and only one tiny spot of product. She also spent a significant amount of time eschewing the benefits of an anti-inflammatory diet. I did not come here for diet advice, I came to relax. After I left my freezing cold massage, I was looking forward to warming up in the whirlpool, only to find that it was closed for cleaning. I specifically asked about the whirlpool when I booked my massage, so I'm very upset that they didn't tell me it would be closed. When I went to check out, I got a surprise upcharge on my bill. Because I asked for firm pressure on my calves, they charged me an extra $20.00. The guy at the front desk couldn't care less. He shrugged and told me it was their standard procedure to charge extra for more pressure. He offered me 10% off but would not remove the mandatory 22% gratuity or the rediculous upcharge. I expected more from Ritz-Carlton. They charge top dollar, but definitely don't provide top notch service. DO NOT GO HERE!

Love the services and the staff is wonderful!

The Spa was a relaxing retreat. We came about 45 min early to use the Sauna and Hot Tub. I was greeted by Mikayla who was extremely attentive, cheery and accommodating. The facilities were clean and well stocked with towels, and toiletries. The couples Relaxation Massage was refreshing. Both of our massages left us feeling anew. Will be back. Elway's is here also, which is a great restaurant as well.
