If I could give 0 stars I would. I made an appointment for personal training and when I came to my appointment they forgot. Then I made a second appointment and when I arrived they told me I never made an appointment. The customer service at total women studio city is awful!

Worst experience at a gym ever. Expensive, dirty, no towels in locker rooms- deceptive salespeople lie about nonexistent amenities. I emailed corporate as well as the gym manager with detailed list of my gripes and was ignored.

Been a member here for about 2 years. I joined because I liked how they had a kids club and it was an all women gym. All the girls in the kids club have been amazing. My almost 4yr old has been going to kids club since she was a baby. One of the girls even became our date night nanny. The facilities are clean and depending on time of day you go, the gym can be less crowded (like any gym) Everyone is always nice and welcoming. Ive never had issues with this gym before. Not sure why all the low rated stars. Ive put my acct on freeze before(no issues!) Anytime there are annual fees or increase in any rates, etc Ive always been informed via email. Ive been member of multiple chain gyms before, as a Woman/Mom this has been my favorite in LA thus far.

The worst Gym experience I’ve ever had. I went in physically to cancel my membership after weeks of trying to do it via email and I’m still getting emails about how my payments aren’t going through. I canceled it months ago !!!! I would never go back or reccomend anyone. It’s a mess.

This gym is nothing but a bank account sucking scam. Not only is it ridiculously expensive they still take your money even after you cancel your membership with them. Supposedly it takes 45 days for cancellations to go through, something which they conveniently don’t tell you when signing up, so they still charge their arm and leg membership fee even after charging an extra $10 dollar cancellation fee for a membership that’s no longer in use. I will never come back here nor recommend it to anyone unless they want their bank account drained. It’s best to report this place to consumer affairs and the BBB.

I was very excited when I first joined this gym about year and a half ago. After the new ownership took over absolutely nothing gets done. My favorite cycling class was with Debbie on Wednesdays. She had repeatedly asked for 6 months to fix the microphone so that she doesn’t YELL while teaching. She ended up leaving because no one cared to fix a simple microphone. It has been over 4 months and no replacement for that class. I don’t even want to get into the broken bikes that also never got fixed. Mondays 8:30 class was also cancelled and not replaced. The AC in the small studio hasn’t been working for a year. We have to open the doors while doing yoga or Pilates and hear the outside loud noise. I became a member in 24 Because they have so many different classes available and I’ll be canceling my membership along with my friend whom I recommended to join total woman in the first place.

I enjoy working out at this gym. I enjoy the classes, the schedule works for me and there have the perfect amenities such as towel service, large lockers, spacious showers, a steam room and sauna. They also provide massages and facials and other beauty treatments. The total environment is rather relaxing. The gym is small yet the space is maximized and does provide space for consistent energy flow and clear walking space. The trainers are awesome. They know their stuff and most of their bodies prove this. But do not think the other trainers are not working towards their body goals because they are and they know their stuff. The staff is friendly, mostly. Of course, you have those that speak a dry and unwilling hello and do not share a goodby have a nice day but that’s people in general. The members a slightly diverse in ethnicity and diverse widely in age. Same thing some are friendly and others are arrogant and privileged. Just people being people. I have tried other gyms such as L.A. Fitness, Spectrum, and 24 Hour Fitness. Total Woman is my favorite next to Spectrum. I keep going back. Like I said in the beginning the classes are excellent for me. The instructors are really good and location is perfect. Enjoy!

Terrible, machines are always broken, no air conditioner, dirty bathrooom showers and the main reason Ielt is because the manager is so rude. My other 2 friends recently left as well. Raised prices to 60.00 a month and the services got worse. Stay away!!

Never Go here! I was harassed by a trainer after being a member for over a year and they over charged me when I tried to quit!! They still haven't refunded me and manager Anh bullied me into staying another month after I quit with Aileen the same week and then Anh overcharged me!!! I will never go here again. They are just looking to get peoples money and members to stay even though I wanted to leave, I couldn't without being overcharged for the next month. I have been trying to get in contact with someone for over 3 months and Anh, Aileen or any manager will NOT call me back at this location or refund me. Horrible establishment, I hope both women are fired and this gym closes down! I will be telling everyone I work with at Hasbro, Sony, and in my industry to NOT go to this gym and they are a rip off and won't let you leave, and over charge you when you do!!! This is BS Anh and Aileen, I want my money back!

I mostly use the spa services and things were great my first 6-8 months — treated like a queen and always felt rested and restored, beautiful, quiet waiting room and always smiles and whispering and quietude— and then in early spring 2018 they changed corporate owners and spa booking systems or something and the customer service has been horrible in the spa area. Really horrible. It’s always noisy now when I walk in, the manager doesn’t know how to use her own Booking system, and many of the new ladies at the service desk in the spa have no idea how to interact with customers or talk with them respectfully— very condescending. When I asked to speak with a manger back in June one girl was so rude and then the manager didn’t really address my concern at all and walked away. The specialists are clearly bummed and the mood has been terrible. I actually felt worse the last few times I was there with all of the raised aggravated voices and other customers complaining and I could even hear the noise and complaints through the spa service room doors. I left for a trip for the summer and recently called to book an appointment now that I’m back and they actually answered the phone and said “we’re closing in a few minutes maybe you could call to schedule another time.” ??? Well— if you’re not closed yet.... shouldn’t you book my appointment? I called again today about 10 to six (the spa closes at 7) and the phone rang and rang and rang— I got recycled back to the main desk and she said she’d reconnect me to Spa and then got back on and said “they asked if you could call after 9a tomorrow.” — I don’t get that. I am definitely canceling my membership and this totally bums me out because I loved having an all women’s gym with a dry sauna and spa services right there, but it’s too much per month to be treated like no one cares. The masseuses and estheticians there are great— and the former spa manager was absolutely professional and amazing. (I don’t think the employees should call me sweetie and sweetheart and darling when I’m making an appointment. Ugh.) So sad about this shift in customer service at the spa!

Just got surprised with a maintenance fee that was never discussed at the time of signing the contract!!!! I got, "I'm sorry but it's in the contract!". Really?!? They shove you pages to sign on the spot. I specifically asked if they were other fee and it was going to be just the monthly fee. Feeling lied to!

Air conditioning unit has been broken for over a year and totally OUT since beginning of this year. From numerous yelp reviews and and other forums the manager Jeannie is grossly disliked, for good reason. She’s managed to instigate more member cancellations than the absent air conditioning. Better stated “attempted cancellations” as she insists on ignoring and redirecting members’ requests to cancel then continues charging them until they are forced to report this to their credit card company.

1 star is far too many for this gym. My experience here was dreadful. I bought a cheap Groupon and became a member once it expired. My very first month of membership I was double charged. I was told at the desk that my billing information was wrong and that my dues had to be paid before entering the gym. I paid them. Within the week they charged my card. Suddenly my billing information was right? It didn’t make sense. I called Jeannie, the manager, and soon found out that she will sound helpful on the phone but she entirely doesn’t care. After a month and many phone calls to her I still had not received my refund. I finally decided to ask for her at the gym. She was rude and snappy. Asked if I had an appointment with her. Who makes an appointment to speak to a manager at a gym? Or any business for that matter? I told her I’d only be calling her from my car if she didn’t talk to me right there and then. She was completely rude to me until I told her I’d be cancelling my membership. I gave her one week and she still did not refund me my money. I have since then canceled my membership. It has been 6 weeks and still no refund. This gym is a complete waste of money and time. The only thing that had perked my interest is the fact that it’s a women’s only gym. And that is it’s only perk. Their machines are outdated and they have spray bottles with paper towels for you to wipe the machines down and most of the time the spray bottle is gone. The manager needs customer service training immediately. Avoid this gym at all costs. It’s not worth the one perk. Also, some of the Yelp reviews have a reply to contact Carol Steen. That didn’t get me anywhere closer to my refund.

This gym has ongoing problems with their air conditioning. This results in a few weeks per year where it is not safe to workout. Carpets should be cleaned regularly. Exercise mats were finally replaced in the weight room years after they were ready for the trash. And unfortunately, the current management is not receptive or responsive to members. One year later, nothing has changed. Staff and management have zero interest in member's experience.

Avoid this gym at all costs if you want to keep your valuables safe and do not stand for being treated like dirt. There is an ACTIVE thief on the loose in the gym and the gym has done NOTHING to remedy this problem. The gym's locker at which I was storing my valuables was broken into and my phone, wallet, car keys, etc. were all stolen. That night, after being in disarray and shock, the first thing the general manager of the gym, Jeannie Sidibe, does is being pushing the company line that they were not liable for the stolen items. She informed me that there was ONE guest who was checked in that night with her ID and information logged. A month passed after the incident and not ONCE did Jeannie or anyone from management call and attempt to quell my fears of security for myself and fellow gym members. The gym took NO measures to beef up security, nor did they undertake any investigation themselves. They washed their hands of any liability and can care less about their members. The ONLY phone call I received was from their financial department requesting I update my credit card information as the stolen credit card was still on file. They even had the nerve to initially charge a late fee, which they "graciously" removed. After numerous phone calls to Jeannie and multiple messages left via voicemail and via written messages through the front desk individuals, I had to initiate the meeting by approaching her at the office. She berated me for emailing her and copying all the general managers at Total Woman gym due to her non-responsiveness. Her story regarding the theft incident also changed. She now said there were THREE guests, not one. Jeannie provided no details or evidence, but tried to make it seem like the current members were not involved in order to not spook people from cancelling their memberships. The disturbing part of her new story is she mentioned that guests don't actually check in and provide information, but rather pay and are allowed in. I was mortified. This gym actively promotes individuals off the street to come in and not register, steal people's possessions, and leave without any trace. I have lost close to $2,000 due to my phone, car key replacement, cash, watch, driver's license replacement, etc. which was stolen at the gym. Management does not care a lick about you and won't think twice to kick you to the curb during a traumatic experience that occurred at their gym. They are cold, curt and only care when their personal reputation in front of fellow general managers is threatened. Cannot speak for other locations, but stay far away from the Study City location.

Stay away from this place!!! I am 8 months pregnant in high risk. I was requesting 6 months ago to have a freeze with a doctor's note. I guess I didn't follow that they kept on charging my debit card every month. when I was 6 months pregnant I had to cancel my debit card because it was badly used by someone. and than Total woman started sending me threatening emails that they will send my payment to collection. A payment I am not supposed to pay! I called again and spoke with Jeanie which has the worst altitude you'll meet in your life. So rude and not pleasant! she kept on saying she will take care of it! I was asking to cancel my membership because I will not go back to this place ever again! they said they canceled my membership and will refund me the amount that was charged accidently earlier. Guess what?! two months have passed by and I keep on calling them and sending emails 3-4 times a week and nothing is being taking care of! and guess what happend few days ago!? after my membership was suppose to be canceled! I was charged again!!! I keep on calling they don't return my calls! I keep on sending emails that are being ignored! this place needs to shut down now! I told all of my friends to cancel their membership and I will sue them!

Customer service is terrible. They tell you one price and then change it when you go to sign up. It has old machines and it’s all round poorly trained staff. Front desk staff can’t tell you what the joining fee is for. Instead they say “I’ve been wounding that myself, doesn’t make sense does it” but then they want you to pay it. One person said it’s so they can up grade the machines in the gym—— wait that’s what I pay my membership for and the general responsibility for safety for members that the business is responsible for. The other reviews on here are correct, don’t bother with this place

My girlfriend goes out of her way to go to the studio city location because of how terrible the membership staff has been. If you are looking to join a gym in glendale I would recommend the smaller ones on brand. They care much more about fitness than anyone I have met there. My girlfriend feels much more comfortable at studio city and says the staff is much more attentive and fitness oriented. Also they have charged my girlfriends account multiple times for her membership more than once a month. Unprofessional. Save your time and money and join another location or gym.

Negatives: Too many people, to the point where there is no room in some classes. They removed shampoos and conditioners from showers, probably to save water. So we all have to bring our own. Classes are keep getting cut, compared to other locations very few classes. Instructors are late to classes. At least 5-10 min. Also people who come very late like 20min etc. are allowed which really disrupts other people especially when we have to stop yoga, get up and move mat about 5 times after class started to free room for other people who came late. I let manager know about all this issues and manager did nothing. Really dissapointed

Be careful with this gym. I cancelled my membership on July 17, 2019 after already making two attempts in the last two days. I spoke to the manager,Jeannie, and cancelled my account. She calls me back a half hour later and leaves a message that I need to call back because she forgot to get my debit card number to cancel my account. Because of this she says my account has not been cancelled and it will not be cancelled until I call back. I had been a member for over a year and they had been debiting my account for that long and she says she forgot to get my debit card number which they obviously had on file. I call back at 3:30 and was told that she had gone home. I call back at 9 am the next morning and was told that she is still not at work. She’s gone at 3:30 pm but is still not in at 9 am. I finally get a hold of her later that day and she proceeds to process my cancellation. She says that since my membership was from the old Total Woman, I would not be charged for another month because the new owners’ policy of a 45 day notice doesn’t apply to me since I was charged first and last months when I joined in March of 2018. However for my daughter’s membership, which I was also cancelling, the 45 day cancellation policy would apply because her membership started under the new owners. I would have to pay one more month, the month of August, and her membership would be good until the end of August. I insisted to be sent an email reflecting these things that were discussed. I received two emails. One receipt for each membership. What a nice lady I said. She’s on the ball. My receipt reflected $0.00 charges as she had said. My daughter’s receipt says $10 for cancel fee. July 25, 2019 passes and no charge for my membership as she promised. My membership was truly cancelled! YES! ✅Check. Well today, August 26, 2019. Guess what shows up on my mobile bank statement??? A $59 charge from Total Woman for a membership that has been cancelled for over a month! I have a bad feeling that a charge of $39 for my daughter’s cancelled membership will show up on my account on Sept 1st and a charge of $35 will show up on my account on Sept 15th for an annual maintenance fee for my cancelled membership. Oh and there was a $69 maintenance fee that popped up on my daughter’s membership in June. What? Like I said, be careful with this gym. If you’re the type who does not check your credit card or debit card statement they will keep sucking you dry and you won’t even know it.

This gym doesn’t have AC and just increased rates to obviously help pay for the AC...oh and it’s been out for 7 months they just keep changing the signs like “we’re sooo excited to have new AC soon” to 6 months later “we’re thrilled to have AC by summer” can’t wait for the next sign “we’re ecstatic to introduce free fresh water and AC by 2028” stay far away from this sham of a gym. I am an original founding member of this gym. I signed up through a grand opening promotion before it was even finished being built, and now over 8+ years later I am still a member. Yes management has changed hands a few times and I’ve seen varying changes for good and bad over the years, but I still enjoy the intimate space and convenience of on-site spa services. I also love that it’s women only and I feel at home and comfortable working out here. I’ve never really had any billing problems and I even froze my membership for 4 months while I was traveling a few years back with no issue. I’ve never needed to have any interaction with management, and the staff in general have always been polite and friendly in my experience. I keep to myself and am not a complainer so even when certain machines have been down or classes cancelled (infrequent in my experience), I’ve just chalked it up to the nature of running a business and moved on with my life. Overall I enjoy having my membership here very much, which far outweighs any of the few hiccups that I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been a member at LA Fitness and 24 in the past, and this is the only place where I’ve actually enjoyed going to.

- update - thank you for the reply however the manager that offered me the discounted rate called me on Friday afternoon- I informed her that I wasn’t able to come in until Tuesday early morning (it was a long weekend and I was away) I was told that wasn't a problem and she just needed my email to start the account. I provided the email address and arrived early Tuesday morning as arranged o my to be told I couldn’t be provided what I was told. .. I went to this gym as I was told over the phone it was $26 a month with $1 down - $15 a month for child care or $5 a day - No contract cancel with 45 days notice.. seems good. When I approach the desk a few day later I was told it’s now $36 a month $10 down and $25 a month childcare. This just makes people feel ripped off and tricked. This is not how you run a business. Back to LA Fitness.

I have been a member of this gym for about 2 years now. It’s so upsetting. The air conditioner does not work very frequently especially when it’s so hot. Classes cancel all the time. Instructors change every other week. There is no consistency. You come to gym expecting to take a certain class and no one is here to teach it. Today, I came to take a dance it out class. Not only the original class was cancelled, but the substitute teacher asked me to leave the class because I was 10 minutes late. First of all, instead of dance it out, it’s a substitute teacher teaching a pilloxing class. Second, I am a paying member and I can come in any time to any class. Unacceptable and discussing!!!! Please join another gym, don’t bother coming here.

Im super upset right now. I got kicked out of the gym at 9:50 eventho your hours state your open until 11:00pm why!?. The receptionist said its becouse its slow and her manager told her too! Complete bs! I work a block away and i go there every night after work the girl in the front is always sitting outside with her boyfriend leaving the gym unattended wich i didnt care but this is redicoulose! The worse part is i have no manager to call! I called the gym in northdrige and asked if this was possible they said no! I really just want to cancelle my membership paying $100 dollars a month for a gym i cant even use anymore. I asked for a manager to call me in the morning and i really hope they do. These two girls were completly rude even tho they knew they were lying they treated me like i was wrong for being upset im just trying to work out and this makes me so angry who runs this place ????????

Horrible treatment of a long time customer!!! It took 3 times of calling in May to get someone to cancel my membership because I’m moving. They added notes regarding that. When they finally did their job and cancelled they charged me again one more time! Then, they charged me yet again! They refused to refund one payment even though two were wrongfully processed. They said there was only evidence of cancellation in June. Someone deleted the notes and I was told I had to wait to get a refund for 7-10 days. Unreal

Been going here for a couple weeks and it's been great so far! Never super busy and I'm always able to use the machine and equipment that I want. The place is clean, there is constantly workers cleaning the place plus everyone seems to help out and clean their machine after use. The girls at the front are all very friendly so I don't know what these other reviews are about. The staff is always smiling and the trainers look very happy and friendly. All in all I'm glad I switched to this gym. I think all the reviews below me are just bitter people.

So horrible. The new corp owners are from the East Coast and they have horrible reviews from the clubs they own there. I'm looking for a new Gym so I would appreciate suggestions. Just another business that does not care about their clients!!
