This place is the best kept secret in the financial district. I had a really stressful day a few months back and it manifested into a horrible headache. I found out 'the spa' was just across the street from my work. They did everything to make my day better and succeeded. I was greeted by friendly, professional staff throughout the hotel. When I arrived to the spa, they anticipated my arrival and greeted me with kind and gracious service. The spa has a beautiful couples suite and three other large suite rooms. This takes the loud, sometimes awkward locker rooms out of the equation. With their additional relaxation time after my treatments I'm able to rinse off in the rooms rain shower and clean up with the spa's high-end product lines. Depending on the time of day I then head back to work or I just zone out and enjoy some tea in their relaxation lounge. I've had massages, facials and pedicures there now. Everyone is really good at what they do and you can tell they have a real passion for it.

I have been a Platinum member with Loews for coming up on two decades & tried most of their hotels. Now they’ve suddenly stopped the platinum service, years of perks suddenly disappear for people who’ve spent tens of thousands with this company. Booked this being told I had my usual suite upgrade only or find that’s not the case. The room has a wonderful view but this hotel simply isn’t 5 star material (similarly Loews Ventana Tucson has lost at least one star in my opinion). Dated finishings, despite what looks like an partial/attempted modernisation. No spa, no hot tub, no pool, just a small and standard gym. No usable outside space to speak of, despite having the most phenomenal appointment and views. Rooftop bar is closed and all doors to viewpoints locked. One restaurant for food options. Hmmm. What exactly am I paying 5 star prices for?

Edit: I keep trying to report to Google that this spa is closed. I have stayed at Loews Regency many times over the past several years. The spa is not coming back. Getting frustrated with Google for not accepting my edit. THE SPA DOES NOT EXIST. If you are staying at the hotel, they can make arrangements for treatments at Nob Hill Spa.

Ok. So here’s the thing. There is no day spa at Loews currently, however, the hotel staff were able to get us two amazingly fantastic therapists to our room for some of the best body work, ever! They can also get you in to Nob Hill or the like if you prefer a regular spa environment. So, maybe it’s ok they don’t have a spa. But when they do I hope their therapists are as good as the ones we met through their non-spa spa.
