There are many things I love about Alchemie Spa. The second I walk through the door off of always-busy Main Street, I feel relaxed, but not isolated - lots of natural light pours through the large windows and glass door that line the front of the spa. I'm greeted by the staff and I feel welcome. I pour myself some cucumber water and sit in a plush chair and wait a minute or two for my mani/pedi to begin. While I wait, I become aware of the instrumental music filling the spa. The tempo is peaceful, the instruments acoustic and the harmonies are languid but not dull. Then my instructor greets me and settles me into a very comfy chair and prepares the foot bath used only for me. She does a superb job and is also friendly but not too talkative. The polish color choices are great and the price is reasonable given that the instructors are licensed and use sterilized instruments. And it’s super-easy to make appointments online. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I had purchased a Hydrafacial to try as I had heard a lot of good things about it. The esthetician was very informative about the process/treatment and I ended up purchasing the entire series to continue on. Can't wait to return for other treatments!

I've been going to Alchemie for over a year for facials. One of the few places on the westside that do really great organic ones. My skin is extremely sensitive and I have never had any issues with their products. Their staff are professional and gentle. I also highly recommend their lux mani/pedis, particularly with the hot stones. Very relaxing and a wonderful treat.

I have gone there for Gelish manicures multiple times and for whatever reason they last longer than other ones I've had. The atmosphere is wonderful and parking is really easy. Alchemie is a great add to Main Street. I've been coming here for services - mani/pedis, waxing, facial - since they opened. Overall, the vibe is awesome are great. Mani/pedis happen in an armchair - it's comfy, but the set up can be a little clunky at times.... but that's the only minor change I would make. Otherwise, I love Achemie & I'm so glad they opened in this part of town.

This spa is conveniently located on Main Street. The staff are friendly and helpful. All of my treatments have been great. Very relaxing. I was happy when they offered a package special for five treatments which was quite affordable. If you have a treatment or a nail appointment in the front lobby area, it can be a little noisy (from the street) and distracting, not as relaxing as the massage rooms.

I first came across Alchemie Spa through a deal site, I went there for a couple's massage. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. It provides for a wonderfully romantic environment and their extended hours make it a terrific after work treat. The second time I went to Alchemie Spa was for a mani-ped, the staff is hospitable and attentive. The service was enjoyable and the environment, lovely for a summer afternoon. Of course, the mani-pedi came out great!

A beautiful space located in the heart of Santa Monica. An organic retreat that includes an extensive list of eco-friendly beauty and body services that can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Excellent business hours. Exceptional product line available, one of which is a California based company that prides itself on using ingredients that are both 'raw and organic! My services included one of their Signature Facials coupled with an added Enzyme Peel. I was pleased with the esthetician's use of non-latex gloves whilst administering the facial. As much as I like the feel of skin to skin during a facial treatment, I appreciated the suggested pro-hygienic practice of using gloves. The space was balanced in lighting and offered a therapeutic atmosphere of serenity. I was also delighted with the spa's offer of alkaline water in a glass, rather than the all-too-often accompaniment of bottled water. The waiting area offers a beautiful array of hot teas to choose from as well. One can enjoy these teas whilst before or after a treatment! The only fault I did find was the somewhat less than streamline front desk personal. I do think that it was timing. My appointment was one of the last in the day during a busy holiday weekend. Hopefully, next time there will be a smoother transaction of checking-in, checking-out, etc. Although, despite the one little hiccup, I would not hesitate to go back. Actually, I cannot for my next appointment! I am looking forward to enjoying the pristine beauty of the space and experiencing the professionalism and knowledge of the staff!

I came in for a Mother's Day treat and had a massage and a facial. Very cute, stylish, clean and easy-going feel of the spa when you first walk in. My facial was amazing - soothing, relaxing and I left looking fresh and younger than I had in years! Would recommend that facial over and over again and I'll probably go in for another one soon. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is twofold. One, the massage left something to be desired. Granted, I'm a working professional with a small child at home and a hectic travel schedule so I can get quite tense and need regular massages. But still, after the massage was over, I felt like I hadn't really been touched. It felt more like a gentle pat rather than someone working to get the kinks out. Also, I didn't really know what to do when my whole session at the spa was finished. I'm used to having an attendant that leads you to water or to the front desk after you've changed back into your clothes or asks you if you need anything else. After I dressed, I just made my own way to pay up. But that's a small issue and the facial made up for it five times over.

The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. My biggest problem was I made reservations via telephone specifically requesting a deep tissue arnica massage (couple style). They only used coconut oil. After the massage I was told I needed to ask for arnica oil and there would be an extra charge. I have no problem paying extra but the option was not given to me even though I initially asked for that specific massage. The masseuses, Nicole and I forgot the other's name, were just ok. Verdict: mediocre massage and unmet expectations. I wouldn't go back.

I've been for several massages, so I can't speak for the nail or facial services. My level of satisfaction with the massage usually depends on the masseuse him/herself, but I've always left relaxed and wanting to come back for more. Service at the front desk is nice. I've had champagne or tea as I waited. I understand a previous reviewer's confusion with what to do after a massage; sometimes, I'll come out of the room with water waiting, and other times, I'm at the front desk paying when the masseuse comes out with the cup. That's not a big deal though. The stickler for me is the lack of good magazines or a comfortable waiting area. It's more like a bench and some knobbly shabby chic furniture. Parking can be difficult with a number of 40 minute only slots in the area. Since they are a part of Archstone/Avalon, I wonder if some additional underground spaces could be made available for clients.

Even better--they have free parking in a lot under the building, so you don't have to feel like you're rushing after you've taking time to relax.

I had an awesome facial here. The esthetician took a lot of time explaining things and tailored the treatment to what my skin needed most (ie, left some things off but added in others) and spent a lot of time getting all the grossness of my travel weary skin out. She made good product recommendations without being pushy (which is an art, in my opinion). The tea they serve in the lobby is so yummy. I have not tried any of their other services yet, but I will definitely be back!

Loved this place! I took my mom here and we had facials massages, scrubs and pedi's. It is so well priced, I like this place better than some of the more expensive places like exhale and Spa del Rey. everyone was very nice and respectful and checked in to make sure we were ok without being overbearing. The only issue is parking, but M-street is accross the street so the duo makes a lovely Sunday!

I received a Swedish massage and hot stone mani-pedi. Starting with customer service, everyone was very nice. From the front desk to my massage therapist. The products they use are great and eco-friendly. However, the Swedish massage was just too much of a pampering experience. It wasn't effective in getting rid of tension in my body. The therapist was so gentle to the point of it just left me wanting more. I've had countless Swedish massages that are effective and deep enough. It just depends on the skill level of the therapist and if they know what kind of effect their massage has on people. In my opinion, a great massage therapist will be great by all opinions, because they are aware of how it feels for you. This wasn't terrible, but I have experienced better. And I would be reluctant to go back. The facility was really nice and the attitude was attentive and caring. But in the end, I'm going to have a great service, not talk to friendly sales people. I was underwhelmed at the $80 price-tag of their hot stone mani-pedi. For the price, the detail of service was the same or less than the dozens of mani-pedi places along Main Street and around Santa Monica. And there is no massage chair. For $20, I can get the same thing elsewhere, minus the hot stones, which were only about a minute or so on each hand and foot. The manicurist wasn't very engaging. I felt I was something for her to get done with rather than to be given an experience to. I just really want Alchemie Spa to be better. It's in a great location, has a cute vibe and look. Maybe a better screening process during hiring would help, since the main drawback, in both of my visits, was with the service itself. Hire better, more passionate, more talented people and that give amazing services.

I visit Alchemie about twice a month (for over a year) and I'm always very pleased with the results. Very pleasant people at the front counter greet you prior to your appointment and the staff performing the services are easy to talk with, detail oriented and very competent. I would highly recommend Alchemie. One last bonus - they offer free parking one level below the spa that you enter off of Bicknell. That is a very important plus for a business on Main Street in Santa Monica.

I really liked the ambience and energy of this spa. The lounge area is beautiful and it smells nice. They offered me a glass of mint/pineapple water while I waited for my massage therapist. My massage therapist was Michael. That was probably the BEST massage I've ever had in my life. He worked it!!! If you are into getting massages, you know when the therapists really love what they do. I think Michael was born to be a massage therapist! He is very gifted. Also, the treatment rooms are very spacious and you do not feel cramped. I really enjoyed the comfortable, relaxing, quiet space. Highly recommend!

It's been a while since I've had a massage of this quality. It's got quite a few thoughtful touches that made the experience very relaxing and zen. Definitely quality for the money. Andrew was my massage therapist and he was great. If I'm ever in Santa Monica again, I'd definitely like to revisit.

I bought a groupon last year and booked an appointment with Amy Pham for a pedicure on January 20th. Amy was very pleasant to work with and even though the lady from the front desk kept reminding her that she was due for her next appointment in 15 minutes, she did not rush and made sure my pedicure was properly done. Since I was pregnant at the time, she made sure I was comfortable and made pleasant conversation during the duration of the pedicure. After she was done, I left her a tip of 12$ and told her that it was on the little side table. I would've loved to go back for a pedicure with her again but the ladies at the front desk made sure that wouldn't happen. After I completed my payment, one of them gave me a nasty look and told me that I had to leave a tip. She was completely judgmental and made an assumption that I only used the groupon and did not leave at tip. Her attitude appalled me and my husband and held myself long enough to tell her I did and left that place. No one should be made to feel the way she made us feel. It was supposed to be a relaxing experience for me during a stressful pregnancy, instead I left the place feeling like crap. Am glad I got an email from Alchemie spa reminding me to leave a review, I would love get a pedicure from Amy Pham again, but not if I have to deal with the attitude of the people in the front.

Great experience. Friendly staff, great location, and great facilities. Massage - masseuse Ricco was extremely knowledgeable and amazing. I felt great after the massage. She was able to make recommendations so as to ensure that I continue to not feeling pain.

I came here on my day off and got a great massage with Maricella and a beautiful gel manicure with Janin( i hope i spelled their name correctly) Maricella has magical hands. i booked for a custom massage and her magical touch took away all the stress and tension from my body. can't wait for my next spa date! I love the fact that they don't double book or make the place too busy, so you can relax and feel the entire spa is exclusively yours :D give it a shot, it's a good place to be at.

The facial was okay, nothing special. I made an appointment but I needed to reschedule but their black receptionist was extremely rude. A friend of mine gave this to me as a gift and she said I would lose the money if I didn't come in. They already had my friends money so I had no choice but to go. I can guarantee you I won't go back. I could not enjoy my facial because I was force to go or lose my friends money. I do NOT recommend.
