The New Moon Spa is a full service spa and salon that is tucked beneath the infamous Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Certainly, this is a fine salon setting, and the staff are competent. My only complaint is that my checking out, after services, was tedious and time consuming. It was almost painful. As I checked out, I felt that I had unwittingly slipped into some sort of internal conflict. the cashier was critical and short. This is not what someone paying for the services of a fully priced salon would expect. Even more, it is not the atmosphere or the take-away experience that one desires in a spa venue, where everything should be calm and peaceful. That being said, the place where the hair salon sits is lovely. It was once an old bowling alley. I may be incorrect, but I believe that the bowling alley era was as long ago as the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. You can still see the inlaid wood where the lanes stretched through this part of the building. The Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs is a popular wedding venue. Next to the hair salon is a bridal room where the bridal party can primp and prepare for their special day. Within the hair salon, clients can also schedule make up services. For that, the products are Bare Minerals. Aveda products are used in the hair salon. Probably the thing that is most special about the hair salon is its windowed wall that overlooks the gorgeous St. Elizabeth Church and the spectacular Ozark Mountains beyond.
I have been getting my hair done here for 8+ years and I am always thrilled with the results. I ADORE the Aveda product line and Savannah does a stellar job on my hair, especially with color! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My experience is always worth the expense.
First- the actual services I received at this spa were AMAZING. In the week of my stay in Eurka I got a massgae, a body wrap, a manicure and a facial. All of them were great and the staff that provided those services were all great and professional. 2nd- the reception/front of house staff was not as accommodating. They actually lost a reservation for my sister and offered her NOTHING for her time/trouble. Also, it should be noted that every single time I was at the reception desk checking in/out there was someone on the phone voicing a complaint or in line voicing a complaint. They have a 24hrs cancellation policy that is unforgiving and they will charge your room. They add in a gratuity for "host" staff that is absurd. I so wated this to be the type of spa that goes above and beyond and that is not what they do. Best advice: book well ahead of time, do not change your appointments and show up early. Front house does the service staff a great injustice.
I went in for a two hour massage (1.5h hot rock and 0.5 hr Swedish), Amanda McKinney was AMAZING!! She seriously found all the knots and actually took a lot of time on each knot meticulously working them out- seriously, this was the best massage I have ever had!
This is the second time visiting New Moon, and would highly recommend visiting. The staff is incredible in every way. I drive from Rogers for the friendly environment.
Great service but inexperienced with prenatal massage.
Best spa I've visited in Eureka Springs.
My husband and I had been wanting to try the couples' massage and we finally decided to do it. We got married in the Crescent Hotel two years ago and had it on our bucket list. We were not disappointed!! It was the best experience and the ladies who did our massage were fantastic. We will definitely be back!
Always a pleasure to visit the salon at the beautiful crescent hotel. Savannah does my hair and she’s so talented and wonderful and I trust her judgement and enjoy coming in to see her. I always leave wondering why I wait so long between appointments bc the prices are so reasonable and I feel amazing after. Looking forward to my next cut :)
I was pleased to be able to get a same-day appointment for a classic pedicure. Tanya did a great job and was very personable. The big window overlooking the garden and mountains made the experience even more enjoyable. Check in and check out was effortless. The historic old hotel is a fun place for a pedicure.
I have been wanting to get this cut for a long time. I'm so happy how well it turned out. The stylist did such a great job! You get a nice scalp massage with hair wash. Their products smell so good and were great on my hair. Stylist was so sweet and personable. Very happy with my experience
My best friend and I had our hair done for my wedding. Was not impressed. Would not recommend.
LOVE LOVE LOVE my every visit!!!
GReat massage
I booked the New Moon spa to have my wedding day hair, makeup and manicure done. Kim was the specialist and she was excellent. It was first my manicure and I loved it. She also did my hair and makeup. Very professional and by the time I left I felt very pretty. Thank you Kim for all your effort.
This is an amazing place! Im always very nervous who treats my hair! I haven't had it done in three years! I made the trip here and I couldn't be happier! Super beautiful and relaxing! I definitely will be back!
Chakra massage. Josh Webb did a wonderful job. Everyone was friendly and inviting. Thank you for everything it was a great experience!
Excellent selection of Aveda & Bare Minerals products, plus spa services in the historic Crescent hotel! Full service or ala carte - a nice oasis of relaxation in this little community!
This is Tami Alonzo posting, not Gabriel. Do not depend on this place if you have a big day scheduled. I made an appointment 3 months in advance for my daughter and I to have a massage together the day before her wedding. We were so looking forward to this last mother-daughter thing. I confirmed the appointment THREE times, twice on the phone and once in person. We get here today and they tell us they can only do one of us. Made me cry.
If you don't take advantage of the New Moon Spa while you're in Eureka Springs, you are missing out! I HIGHLY recommend Tanya for your nails! She is fabulous, friendly and amazing at what she does! If you need something done for your hair, step over and see Miss Savannah. She is an absolute artist and your head of hair is her canvas! Fabulously ran, clean and amazing ambiance. I'll never go anywhere else!
I rented the bridal studio for my wedding day and it was FABULOUS! The hair stylist were efficient and made my hair like the picture I showed! It is such a spacious and fun place to get ready for your big day!
I seriously do not recommend this spa to anyone. 3 of my friends and I had a girls weekend in Eureka Springs, stayed at the Basin and went to the New Moon Spa at the Crescent Hotel. We all got pedicures at the spa. 3 out of 4 of us got nail fungus. Pretty bad odds. I am 100% certain it came from the spa! They refunded our money but we will now spend weeks trying to get rid of it!
Aug.15,2014 Had a heavenly day at the spa. Thankyou Sarah and Jesse.Thankyou Carrie for sharing your story with me. It changed my life. You are all wonderful. May your days be filled with Joy.NJS
Great place to go
Only place in Eureka to get a massage. Love their Aveda products. Couples, stone, regular massages. Also can get a manicure and pedicure or have your hair & makeup done.
New Moon Spa and Salon provided my husband and I an incredibly beautiful experience with the Chakra, Couples Massage. Shout out to Stormy :) who gave me the best massage I've ever had.
After purchasing a Groupon for this salon in early February, I was finally able to get an appointment. It took at least 4 times to be able to find a time that they were open and available and I learned later it is because they only have 2 nail techs. I originally booked an appointment for 5:30 and was asked to reschedule to 4pm because one of their technicians leaves at 5. Not wanting to have to go another 3 months, my friend and I took the 4pm appointment; it became clear that we were asked to move to 4pm because they wanted to leave early. Once we were finally able to get booked in for our appointments, it went downhill from there. One of the technicians is in high school and though she is very sweet, she is definitely not an expert and my friend and I both walked away with red swollen cuticle beds and polish jobs that would have looked better had they been done at home. We also had to sit there and listen to 'Mary' complain about her kids, had a dog jump in our laps and became babysitters instead of clients as there were two antsy school aged children in the spa for entire 2 hours we were there. I hate leaving poor reviews on local businesses because she is clearly trying but I would not recommend spending your $40 dollars here any time soon!
Message was enjoyable but disappointed with the manicure pedicure. My husband tried to book online and they never responded so we did not get the reservation set up until the day before and when we tried to cancel the manicure pedicure upon arriving they said we had to give 24 hour notice. So I went ahead and got it done so that we didn’t waste the money but it just took too long and then on top of it my nail polish was applied so thick it just pulls off like clay. Not worth the money at all!
The best spa around!
Visit here every time we come through. I love the rich history, the beautiful architecture... Everything is amazing.
The staff was very friendly when I went for my hair and makeup trial for my wedding, but I wasn't very impressed with the results. I had showed the makeup artist a picture that had bronze eyeshadow and a glowy, natural face, and she caked my face in foundation, and made my eyeshadow dark. She had a really hard time with the false eyelashes too, and my eyes were basically glued shut for 5 minutes...they were nice enough to only charge me $5 for the second pair of falsies instead of the usual $25. Still though, at the end of the 3 hours I had hair that I was on the fence about, and makeup that looked cakey and shiny. The eyelashes also came off after less than an hour. I had expected to pay $130, but at the end they threw in a bunch of fees and tips. Tips I understand, but fees for the people offering me water? I would think that's just common courtesy in the customer service business...anyway, the staff was very friendly, but I found a different makeup artist who will be doing my makeup instead. Disappointed because of the cost, and also because I'm getting married at The Crescent and it would have been much more convenient to be able to get my makeup done by the New Moon staff.
Enjoyed my pedicure and spa day
