From the time I picked up the phone to call Solara I had a great experience. I was treated with professional warmth and told to come in for a free consultation by the nurse. I was able to get in right away. When I walked in, I loved the way it felt. Eileen the nurse was very kind as was Rachel (I think that's her name) the receptionist, who was the same person I talked to on the phone. Eileen was able to "read me" very well, as I was primarily interested in finding out more about my choices, and was interested in reversing sun damage in the future. Eileen told me about a special they were running for a facial. Eileen thought Lori and I would be a great match. I was so fortunate to be able to get in and have the best facial with Lori. Lori is awesome and very good at her job. I felt comfortable being there and that is very important to me.I can't wait to go back. I was amazed at how down to earth everyone was. Honestly, I was so relieved to see that no one was snooty or looked plastic! Great staff and great service. Thanks, Susan Green

I went to Solara today to get a facial and my eyebrows done. It was extremely informative and I love my new brows. I also bought products and was taught how to take better care of my skin after! Loved it. Thanks! Kaila Buerger Solara was a wonderful experience today. I went with my daughter Kaila on a mother daughter date to have facials and eyebrows done. The Solara staff was very accomodating and contientious of this and allowed us to go to the same room together, in a peaceful nice setting. I enjoyed my time with my daughter, and with the woman who worked on my eyebrows/face. She was very knowledgable and sweet. Friendly staff, clean facility, but pedaling snake oil. I am a perfect candidate for laser hair removal, or so I was told. Light skin, dark hair. I wasted $1500 on this service. I sit here now with highly irritated skin on my neck that I still have to shave. Extremely dissatisfied customer.

I have been going to Solara for over five years and I have never had a bad experience.. I have had almost every service that they provide, facials, laser hair removal, and eye lash tinting. I was not pleased with the eye lash tint but the administration of the service was still excellent.The solara environment rivals any shop in town. I always feel relaxed and pampered when I leave, they invite you to try the in store products but I have never felt pressured to purchase any products.If you are looking for an afternoon of pampering in a soothing atomosphere this is the place to go

Having just moved to Anchorage from Sydney, I was looking for a center for my cosmetic solutions. I was surprised and thrilled to find that Solara had Coolsculpting which I have previously done in Sydney. I have so far had two treatments of coolsculpting (one on each flank) and am starting to see results at the 1 month mark. The service has always been consistently second to none. The staff are welcoming, they attend to your needs and make every procedure a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Mina has been the only aesthetician to solve my breakouts problem which countless physicians have not cured but only advised of expensive laser treatments. Mina knew the cause and all I needed was a change in skin care and facials every so often. I will be getting permanent makeup from her soon and can't wait. Overall I am so glad to have found Solara and will continue to be an ongoing customer.

I had previously been going to BPU for a laser tattoo removal and was noticing no results after six sessions. I then decided to go to Solara after reading their reviews and after the first session I have noticed a significant change! My tattoo looks like it has already faded tremendously and they told me I'd probably only have to come back two more times after this to have it completely gone. I'd definitely recommend Solara to anyone who's looking to have a tattoo removed!

My whole facial experience was not only very relaxing, but I was VERY impressed with the results. I was already using some of Dr.Gross' products and was thoroughly impressed. Having the facial further convinced me to continue using his products (and having struggled with cystic acne most of my life, I am not easily impressed!). Lori provides a relaxing and calming atmosphere for your facial, and really listens to and addresses your skin concerns. She also is forthright about how often you should come in- it's really about what fits in your budget. I would highly recommend going to see her!

Solara has a very professional atmosphere and a friendly "down to earth" feel. As someone who does not visit salons AND is skeptical I found them comforting. They gained my trust after one visit. Mina worked on me and I 100% recommend her. I am extremely thankful Solara helped me and the results are what I wanted. I live several hours away and they have been very accommodating. To sum it up they give you great treatment, in a relaxing environment, and are very truthful about expectations regarding their services. The consults are free so you can visit before paying to find out if they can help you. I am sure they can!

Came here a year ago to get tattoo removal & it was the worst. I am still petrified! - At the time I looked around town for tattoo removal diligently. I unfortunately had a tattoo artist that made a mistake on what I wanted. The tattoo located on my forearm, I desperately wanted to get it removed/faded to get covered. I thought Solara had the best reviews & seemed the best that I could find, but man was I wrong. I came in for my first session & (the front desk not being very polite) they numbed it with a cream. I had to wait for the numb to set in. Afterwards we started the treatment. The laser technician came in & started the work. My tattoo turned white as she lasered it. Which is normal. After the treatment they told me how to take care of it. I followed directions to the Tee! I kept it super clean, put medicine on it etc.. But the next day I look off the bandages and the area was one huge blister! I called really worried and they said it was normal to blister! They didn't ask me to come in to look at it or anything. I did not pop the blister at all. I kept it bandaged. I looked up online and it was worse than anything I could find! They must of had the laser on super high or something. I called again a week later & told them again how bad it was but they wouldn't listen. They made me feel foolish. So I didn't come back in to show them until a few months later after I did some research & realized that my blistering was worse than anything I could find. It left a scar! But anyway I came in to show them photos & the scar. One of the nurses? I think Came from the back & looked at both & said that she was surprised it turned out so well with such bad blistering. She said she has never seen anything like that. I was furious that they did this to me, so I asked them to be careful & to never do this to anyone ever again. She did not offer any condolences, refund, free session, anything. I will never return & I hope no one else goes through this! :, (

Worst customer service ever. The other reviews must be out dated. I RECENTLY attempted to have a small tattoo laser removed. On the phone before i wasted my time driving out there i was told they have a minimum charge of $100, (I've had 2 treatments already costing $125 each) so naturally anyone would guess it would be quoted at about the same price. When i go for the consultation a very snotty overweight lady (i wish i had gotten a name but unfortunately that's the only way i can describe her) told me it would be $250. I explained to her that I've had 2 treatments done somewhere else for $125 "we're actually professionals" she said rather unprofessionally, but she didn't care about getting any business and insisted I pay double what their competitor cost. I explained to her that even her competitor across town charges $150, "well why aren't you there?!" she yelled with a ghetto tone. "because you told me $100 on the phone." I explained. I feel extremely badly for the poor owner who has to deal with these individuals. These jokers conduct business like clowns. I would never recommend solara to anyone. But i highly recommend you check out their competitors.

Terrible experience. Been going here for years but lately, they have been turning over doctors like crazy. Most recently, the doctor spent most of her time trying to upsell me on prescriptions (i guess she gets more money from those), didn't listen to what I wanted, placed injections in the wrong place (and INCREASED appearance of wrinkles!), and the placement of the Botox injections made my eyes look droopy and weird. I'm out $1,000 and look tired and older. It's better now that it's finally wearing off. Just got a call from the salon asking to schedule my next appointment. The lady didn't want to listen, cut me off, and said nothing about better policies or doctor training... just 'yeah, people complained so she's not here anymore......give us more money!' Not a chance. I'm going to the ACTUAL plastic surgeon in town that has a long history of consistent staff and good results, has actual training, and ACTUALLY knows what face muscles are where. I'm not paying $1,000 to look WORSE. I should have reversed the credit card charges. Rip off.

I always go to Solara for my skin care essential products and facials. The friendly medical staff at Solara not only highly educated they are very professional. Mina is the esthetician who performs all of my custom facials and she is amazing. She has great customer service and her clients always come first. She is always considerate of my desired outcome as well as taking my concerns seriously, providing me with valuable information and different options. Since I have started facial treatments with her, I have seen great improvement with my skin, almost eliminated my acne, prevent breakouts and I have noticed a major reduced in my acne scars. The main reason I choose to come to Solara was to reduce my acne scars, I have seen such a great improvement with my scars that there is no reason for me to go anywhere else in Anchorage. I am more than pleased with the services I receive from the entire staff at Solara.

The woman that did laser on me is not a certified medical professional. The laser I had done 3 times on my scars did nothing. She wasn’t aggressive at all with the laser and I had to remind her how many passes to do because she forgot then had to look in her notes to see. If you want anything done go to a real doctor not someone who just went to beauty school to learn how to use a laser. Also very unprofessional. She would talk about how she would use the laser on herself from time to time whenever she got any little spots and constantly talk about herself.

I have inherited deep lines around my mouth, which were exacerbated by many years of gaining and losing weight. I have even gone so far as to crop pictures so that my mouth didn't show. Yesterday I had a session with Eileen at Solara Laser Center using Juvaderm for the first time. The results are nothing short of amazing! I feel so much more confident. I cannot stop looking at myself in the mirror. I'm so thankful that I did this for myself, and encourage anyone to at least explore the possibilities. The staff were all very professional and upbeat, and the facility is clean, pleasant and welcoming.

Welllll I love going into Solara.. Ive had several treatments of several things done here. They offer pretty much anything Ive heard of and if they dont Im sure they'd inquire about it. Ive been coming in since they opened the doors. It honestly feels like im going in to hang with the ladies and 'catch up' every time Im there, very comfortable and fun. Ask about the specials, they always have good deals and Im all about good deals. lol ;) Best of the best!

The staff are friendly and helpful, however I don't recommend this location for any kind of tattoo removal. I accompanied a friend to an appointment and was very distressed to later discover that because of the lack of competition compelling Solara to update their apparatus, they were still using an ablative laser, quite out of date and not comparable to anything one might find in the lower 48. There are however non-ablative laser treatments available elsewhere, which are much more effective and carry less risk of scarring. Coincidentally, these treatments at alternative locations are cheaper than ablative treatments at Solara, a price difference of 50 dollars in some cases. My advice is to shop around and get a second opinion.

Went to Solara for Juvederm-LIPS, at first I was very nervous. When I went into my consultation all of my questions were answered. The day of my appt, I was VERY nervous, the staff at the front desk was very warming and ensuring. IT ended up being a build up for nothing. I will defiantly be going back for more!
