I absolutely love this clinic! The staff is so friendly and always so happy and ready to help. It has a relaxing spa type environment but they have the expertise of a medical clinic! And they can bill your medical insurance which is very helpful and makes things so much easier for everyone. If you haven't already checked them out, I highly recommend it!

I have been going to Alaska Massage Clinic almost a year now and can't see going anywhere else. My concerns are listened to and addressed! I have neck and shoulder muscle issues that cause me pain as well as lower back and leg pain and so I look forward to my appointments with Petrita. Whether you like soft relaxing, to a firm deep tissue massage - there is a massage therapist on hand for everyone's preference. They are open until 7 pm and on Saturdays! No more having to take off work early to rush to an appointment before close! AND they take my insurance! The ladies at the front counter will attempt to fit in walk ins or short notice appointments. They are also so friendly and down to earth - a pure joy! Love! Love! Love!

Was not impressed. I asked for a deep tissue and got a "feel good" massage with minimal pressure, even after notifying the massage thereapist she could add more pressure. She said she believes in feeling the muscle out, which I understand, but when someone comes in for a massage and is paying you for it, you need to comply with what they want. Staff up front wasnt bad, but they didn't even ask if I wanted to reschedule, not that I did. Anyways, if you're looking for a deep tissue massage, save your money and go else where, or make sure your therapist actually offers the pressure you want.

Amazing experience from the moment I stepped in the front door! My massage therapist, Jen, listened to my requests and delivered a highly skilled massage, probably the best one I've ever had! The front desk staff were personable, friendly and happy to help with whatever my needs were. They offered a variety of snacks and drink options as well. I love the ambiance of this establishment, very warm and inviting! I was given a lovely patient appreciation gift upon completing my treatment. Sit back, relax, take it all in. First, let me give the highest compliments to two of their massage therapists, Petrita & Daniel, that I saw regularly. They are wonderful and made a great difference for me. Dr. Hill, the chiropractor, was professional, kind, and helpful while doing the required periodic assessment. AMC is not a spa but charges well beyond spa rates since they advertise as medical massage. They still ask for tips when checking out despite insurance being billed at much higher rates- $250 for an hour massage which is really 50-53 minutes depending on the massage therapist. They get around insurance that doesn’t cover massage by billing as a different code under physical medicine. They make you change your reason for services periodically so insurance will pay. Their cash rates for massage are also much higher starting at $55 for 30 minutes. I’ve had several not so great experiences with the front desk primarily related to a couple of appointments that did not start timely due to their scheduling errors. At best, the front desk has been lackluster and tepid customer service. My appointment last week had a 30 minute mess up that I did not find out about until I was waiting in the office. I was offered a free coffee gift card or an aroma therapy enhancement which I did not accept as I can’t tolerate either of those with my headaches. I said I would just wait since there wasn’t time enough to leave for errands and get back in time. I mentioned to the receptionist that the front desk was disorganized. I also mentioned the rewards program that was promised when we started going to the clinic but had never gotten a straight answer about it when I asked various times. We would have never known about a supposed reward program except they made such a big deal out of stamping a card each time you had services. I went into my massage and had a great session. After I paid, the receptionist asked if I was happy there. I said yes, I really enjoyed the massage therapists that had made such a great difference for me. She suggested that I may need to consider going somewhere else for services since I wasn't happy with the front desk. I was taken aback. I told her I was capable of making that decision if needed but that the massage therapists were excellent and had helped me tremendously. I had just cancelled membership at another massage clinic because I was happy here. After leaving, I called the Wasilla clinic to talk to a manager. I spoke with the Eagle River manager who happened to be at that office. I had dealt with her previously without issue when she worked the reception desk though I would not call her friendly or helpful. Long story short, I was told they were a team and that since I didn’t like the front desk I needed to go elsewhere and not be back. I was told the owner would say the same, so I didn’t try to reach the owner. I never had issues with other receptionists, except this particular overbearing one I called about. Overall, I am extremely disappointed to lose two great massage therapists who have helped me. I’m disappointed that by merely telling the front desk they were disorganized in a calm tone, that I was told not to come back. AMC does not value client relationships. It's a disappointing experience after I have been a regular client with approximately 20 massages over the last 5 months. Had nothing been said to me when I checked out from my massage, I would not have given their screw-up another thought, and I would have called the following week to make another appointment. Beware when dealing with AMC for their inconsistent, incompetent and passive aggressive front desk staff, lack of management and for questionable medical insurance billing practices.
