You know that we do not usually stop to place scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Idc what other people think about Smitty's I like going there and who cares what people think they are always nice to me when I go there keep up the good work
I just called there for the first and only time. What a RUDE and OBNOXIOUS guy they have answering the phone. How is this guy in business???
Found them on Car-Parts. One guy answered the phone "You gonna hang up on me again?' Was my first time calling, told him what I need and then forwarded me on to another guy and asks "This somethin you gonna pick up?" I said "I am from out of town and have a..." interupts me and goes on to tell me he has the part and if I want it have my guy stop by. Won't send pictures. then quotes me for a price that is double than all the rest listed! Don't know how the place is in business.
Rude workers, disorganized system, don't pay good prices for scrap.
Not nice people. Asked for a car part. Didn't have it. Said he could order it & I said no that's fine, hung up on me.
Recycling
This place has everything — long-dead goats, bears, and owners/employees that look (and talk) like woodchucks. Climb the rickety stairs and travel back to a time when nearly anything that moved was shot and stuffed, and surly was the fashion of the day. Tell ‘em Dick sent you...
I wish the owner took a basic grammar class before he posted a follow up to a bad review.
Lied about said part was treated very unprofessionally very rude. i just wanted to be treated honestly gave me the run-around and said that stone damage on a hood is normal and asked if part was in good condition and they reassured me that it was A 1 part. As i live far a way i prepaid so i could pick it up off hrs only to find it with stone damage called them to see if they could give me a small dicount for it as it was not stated about the damage to this they told me it was normal and they would not help me out on the price a little going as far as to tell me they were at cost as it was at 275.$$ for a 06 impala hood is not coast id put money on it they didnt even pay that much for the hole car don't insalt me with your lieing bs i will never deal with them again.
Called for a quote to see what they pay for converters and the lady said they won't give a quote over the phone and said I had to come there. LOL What a joke!
Worst salvage yard I've ever been to lazily ran and unorganized. They quoted me on a price and then change it. I Didn't buy the part. I will never return. They don't even deserve one star.
Poor people skills.
Went there to go trade in my aluminum cans and received bad service, bad attitude, and they suggested me if I were to bring in as much as I did, they will refuse it. Definitely one of the worst experience I've had.
Absolutely the worst bunch of a holes I have ever had to talk to! Not only did I "interrupt his lunch" but there was apparently no garbage to put the bags after he was done with the cans but stood there and made sure I didn't just toss them on the ground! The attitude of these people is freaking ridiculous and I will never be going back!
No issues, been going a couple of times now
Super rude and acts annoyed when you call just to even get details on a motor that they have no details listed. Asked about milage and response was "too old to care about milage take it or leave it" Very professional! Would never recommend to anyone. Upon ending the phone call i said thank you for your time and smitty hung up on me. Take your business and time else where they dont seem to care about either one.
They have an attitude similar to an angry teen trying to antagonize a fight. Sounds ridiculous, but it's true. They'd make a great number to relentlessly prank call, just sayin'.
Best place ever. Been going here since a kid and always treated with repsect
They're terribly rude. Called for a quote and was treated with the utmost disrespect. I'll drive an hour to a different salvage yard before I ever step foot on that property and give them even a penny of my hard earned cash. Don't bother wasting your time here.
Was looking to get a replacement part for my vehicle, the staff on site was not friendly or welcoming. It’s a scrap yard, I get it but common business practice says when a customer walks into your business you generally welcome them or at least ask them what they need... their part prices are very cheap which is nice but they only sold a whole assembly, not the part I needed.
I stopped to sell my aluminum cans, as they do pay well and I am glad there are places willing to buy what is essentially my garbage. Whereas I did one guy very rude and impatient, they were busy and had alot of trucks and cars going in and out but still they had me in and out in 10 minutes and there was no waiting as there were 2 guys working in that section. The cashier was courteous. Basically I went because they pay good money for aluminum and they did that. Nevertheless, I most likely will not go back there since they gave an impression they could not have cared less if I patronized them.
Called about a part they had on Wis parts finder. Was told they would confirm it was what I wanted. Called me back 15 min later with good news. Counter woman was very pleasant, yardman was prompt and friendly, loaded it right into my car. Thanks my part worked great! I will be back.
AVOID THIS PLACE AND GO TO ANOTHER SALVAGE YARD!!
Terrible place total crooks. I brought in 50lbs of #1 copper the kid in the shed outside was right and gave me a slip for #1 well the a-hole in the office gets the slip and says he needs to look at it.. he comes back and says its #2 I told him I want all my copper back I know what #1 is! the a- hole would not offer it back, I just about threw him out the window and left with less cash never to return... DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!!
Stay away rotten business practice going on here! Took 12 year old here who had been saving up soda cans. They found ONE! soup can in load and accused the boy of trying to scam them! What a sad worker and business to have to make a kid feel bad for a simple and small mistake!
I called to ask a simple question, "do you have any 99-02 _____ _____ cars on your lot?" The pissy guy on the other end made me give him a specific part i was looking for, told me they didn't have it and hung up on me before I could say anything else. I have a list of parts I need for multiple cars and I won't be coming here for any of them.
Guy was very nice on the phone when I inquired about a headlight assembly!
Went here to drop off scrap metal. Went up to the office to collect my cash. Fat man with a white beard proceeds to insult me about my vehicle headlights. I tell him great way to run a business, he says grow up. From now on, I'll drive across town to get rid of my scrap. Never going here again. BTW, fat man, if you read this, my lights have never bothered anyone, and the only reason you didn't get knocked out is because you aren't worth an assault charge. One day though, you'll something to someone with less self control. I'll laugh when I read about it in the paper.
I've been trying to get a dumpster picked up by him for 2+ months. Every 3-4 days I call in and he says "You're on the list". When I ask for a time estimate he'll say "when I feel like it" and hang up.
It was very vindicating to read these reviews after the horrible call that I had with them earlier today. I was also the recipient of their apparent hang-up-on-customers policy.
Rude rude rude.... I'd rather get ripped off by nice people
I have come here many times for car parts and batteries and have never been treated with as much disrespect as I just was by some old moustached man sitting on his behind answering phones. I told him I had my battery downstairs and he proceeded to in a condescending tone tell me "I don't know what kind of car you drive. So I told him, I then tried to explain to him that the battery was Downstairs and he ordered me to sit down and he'll find me a battery." I proceeded to sit and stated "That was unnecessary." To which he replied without getting a response from whoever he'd asked for a battery from, "Ma'am we just sold the last battery, Have a nice day." I will NEVER come here again. And I will be sharing this experience with everyone I can. Thanks for nothing Smitty.
Well from all the bad reviews, one would think this salvage place is owned and run by ogres. I've only been there twice and long ago so don't know if the same owner(s) are there yet, although both times weren't as bad as described by most. Once with a buddy to get a carb for his old Toronado and brake parts for my old truck. They had a Porsche 911 engine in the office there along with stuffed animals that we were talking about. Having been a bear hunter with a rug myself, the conversation went along for about half hour or so until the parts arrived at reasonable price. Second time was there, maybe five years later, with my grandmother to bring in her aluminum cans. They were about to close shop and simply asked "How many bags?" I said five and they just gave gramma double cash what was probably worth. I think the deal is, is that these guys might be rude to some, although they do good business with others. They must be doing OK to keep alive.
Very rude on the phone and got frustrated with me when all I was doing was asking questions!!!
A very dishonest salvage yard, I bought a radiator from them and was told it was pressure tested, but I know for a fact from the time the employee took the pick sheet until they came back with the radiator it was only 22 minutes, I have a witness that was with me that can verify this... The radiator leaked, I called them about it and I was told that they didn't have another one to exchange it with, so there was nothing they could do about it... They refused to refund of my money, and left me hanging... There are better salvage yards to get parts from, steer away from Smitty's they are dishonest And will screw you over!
My boyfriend and I went there yesterday afternoon to trade in his old clutch and radiator for money, a CLUTCH and a RADIATOR DOES NOT TRADE IN FOR $1.75. However he did walk away with the money because he didn't want to start anything with them. Their intimidating. Also I don't want to say it had anything to do with my boyfriends ethnicity, but I'd be lying if I told you I thought otherwise, and I'm not usually one to judge. Just don't go here.
These reviews are NO joke! I just called them for the first time, guy that answered the phone was rude, couldn't be bothered to answer my questions, and then hung up on me when I asked for his name so I could come by and see the part. I do not know how places like this stay in business. I'm a small business owner and I'm held accountable by my customers and value them. Unreal!
Obvious unhappy attitude and sometimes even angry attidude over the phone. Went with Cash for Cars instead and they towed my car and paid me within 15 minutes
They r liers and straight bogus. They dont even deserve a 1 star. If it were up to me they should be shut down and they loose they jobs and become homless because they are trash.
Bad service
This many bad reviews.. Not even going to call or stop in. Clean up your attitudes fellas.. people vote with their money. I down vote you on other's experiences. Karate chop to your wallet.
I called to see if they had a part I needed. They had it but I still ended up waiting for 45 minutes while they went and got it. Apparently they couldn't find the part right away. While waiting in the filthiest waiting room, I was serenaded by the two men behind the desk's discussion about hunting. Literally every other word they spoke was a swear word. After I got the part and installed it, I found I had misdiagnosed what was wrong with my car. I called to see if I could return the part as I had no use for it. The man said they had a no return policy and then proceeded to explain that I should have had a professional look at it before I "went and threw a bunch of parts at it". Now I'm fine with not taking the part back if its in your policy, but it is in poor taste to patronize your (now) ex-customers. Try the other junkyards in green bay before you go here. This one is not worth your time.
Called and ordered a body part. The business represented it as a good part with no damage. The part arrived damaged and missing pieces. Called to address these issues and they were rude and not willing to do anything. They want to charge a restocking fee if I return the junk part they sold me. STAY FAR AWAY THIS BUSINESS! THEY ARE SCAMMERS. THAT IS WHY THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A 2 STAR GOOGLE RATING!
Called despite the bad reviews as they are closer to me then grandpa johns, why not give them a try? Well got hung up on in 5 seconds becuase my "phones bad" could have at least asked to repeat instead of directly hanging up on a would be customer. Funny how the other 3 calls I made right after didn't have issues with my phone. Tip for everyone, go elsewhere and save yourself the trouble
Good experience! Sold them my car yesterday -- they came and picked it up in the snow, just 20 minutes after I called. With all these awful reviews I was kind of dreading calling, but I talked with 2 or 3 different people over a couple of days, and each of them were totally nice, as was the gentleman who came to my house. I work in customer service, have been trained on it regularly for years, and these folks were all great to talk to.
Good experience they are super busy and still find time to deal with me thank you
Horrible place to deal with. Upon calling they seemed annoyed I was calling with attitude right off the bat. I was looking for a body panel, which was list online they have and was told they dont do any body panels. Thought that was weird for a salvage yard. Asked them what parts they do sell and he mumble something and hung up on me. Worst customer service and they dont seem to care, there rating reflect that. Not sure how places like this stay in business. Recommend going elsewhere for any used parts
