Advertising cars on Craigslist with clean titles when in reality they have salvage titles. Beware and don't trust this place with buying a car!

Horrible experience. Drove 2.5 hours to see Beetle convertible. Clarified condition of vehicle before traveling via several phone calls and was told by Sonny one fender was out of alignment and driver's seat was worn. Sonny was dishonest about the entire vehicle, which was absolute junk--too little space to say what all was wrong with the vehicle. This is a SALVAGE YARD where car parts are interchanged--do not trust them over the phone or in person. Absolute waste of time and gas!!!!!

I was promised something by one deadline, this promise was not met. I was then promised the same thing at a different deadline. This was also not met. I was then promised a third time it would be completed before end of day. This too was not fulfilled. Do not agree to anything from these people without explicit details written and signed.

Sonny at 81 Auto Parts was very good to work with , bought a 2009 Chevy HHR from him and he was great to work with, I had 1 small problem after the sale and he took care of it as soon as he could ! and yes I would recommend them , they were honest and fair , very hard to find today . THANKS BOB

My family has bought 2 cars and many parts from this business! The parts salesmen had very good customer service, they were very knowledgeable, and they showed me a lot of respect. The dealership salesman were very honest and upfront, in fact if the car was repaired or if the car had damage it was the one of the first things they told me (not all of their cars had damage). We drove from all the way from Blacksburg to look at the first car because it was the cheapest price in the area. Overall would recommend them to all of my family and friends, great people with the best prices around!

seemed like I bothered them when I called & had questions...not very courteous and they don't even take scrap cars even though the website said they did. They recommended me to parts unlimited in Vinton and not quite sure if I will take them up on that recommendation

Beware! I wanted to give them a good review, because we got a good deal on the HHR we bought and the father/son team were both very charming. We were told that the car ran perfectly and that there were no issues. However, not a day after we got the car, we started hearing a horrible rattling under it. Then, the check engine light came on a couple of days later. We took the car into the shop and were told that we needed to do $1000 in repairs, $600 of which was extremely urgent; apparently, it could cause the engine to blow up if not repaired ASAP. Since we spent almost all of our savings on the car, this came as a huge shock. These repairs will really set us back. I would be very, very wary about buying a car or a part from this business.

I bought an engine from them on 10/24/16 they sent me blown engine I contacted them and then sent the engine back they were going to send another engine but I spoke to the employee and he said his boss said don't send it we can get more money they want another 400 for another engine I already paid them 1,050.00 for the engine and 400 to put in a blown engine I haven't even gotten my money back they are awful money hungry people this engine was for my daughter in the army now she can't even come home on leave before she leaves for Korea for 9 months because she has no car

Great service. Fred went above and beyond by calling me to tell me he had the part I wrote to ask him about. He even went as far as to tell me he'd save it for me. Can't find that kind of service much these days. It was also the cheapest around but also new. Call Fred and you won't be disappointed. Except they do need heat in there lol I don't know how you guys stand the cold

I had the great opportunity to buy a car from 81 Auto in March 2017. I looked at a 2008 Mercury Milan they had listed online and drove down from Lynchburg the next day to test drive it. I ended up purchasing the car the following day. Everyone was so nice and helpful and I was very comfortable from the minute I stepped in the door. I was also extremely impressed with the excellent customer service. We are currently looking for our second car and will be heading out to 81 Auto to see what they have. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 81 Auto to anyone who is looking for a car or car parts.

Sonny is very friendly and give you a good price. He is helpful as well. I forgot to take my bill of sale to the dmv sonny promptly faxed it over to them. When something went wrong with the air conditioner on the vehicle we purchased, he gave us the part we needed. I highly recommend this place.
