8 cents a pound for aluminum. What a joke.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. My friend d ran over somethi g and destroyed her tire and the staff quickly came to help. They found a tire for her and put it on and sent us on our way. Unbelievably nice!!!!

I've been coming here for the past 3 years since I moved to the area. We've had alot of clean up to do on our property. It's a great place to recycle scrap metal and put some gas money in your pocket. They do a decent job at keeping exit clear of debris but keep a look out for nails and such when leaving yard (only once did I see a nail on ground when leaving). Guy at scale is a cool dude and helpful. Once, an employee helped me clear my trailer. Was very appreciative since I'm usually solo on my dump runs.

The entrance to Navy City Metals is via W Belfair Valley Rd. Do not miss the exit from Hwy 3 just after the third lane starts, or you'll have to go around via W Sam Christopherson Ave to get there (Google Maps directions are incorrect as entering directly from Hwy 3) (Edit: I have no idea why it had my review as 3 stars)

Love the quick in and out setup that allows us to be efficient, people are nice and helpful!

We were dropping off aluminum cans. We noticed that there were several employees and all of them busy working. My husband parked and went to find out where we were supposed to put the cans and had turned off the pickup. When he returned and tried to start the pickup again it wouldn't start. He went over to a forklift operator and asked if we could get a jump. This guy came right over and was joined by another. They had their own cables and hooked the vehicles together. The pickup still wouldn't start. Come to find out the ground post was loose and turning cherry red when he turned the ignition. So, after these guys got our battery fixed they politely gave my husband directions for unloading the cans. No problems with them, didn't have to wait long for anything. Kudos to Navy City Metals.

They're fast they're efficient and I grew up around here and they don't pay too bad either

Am I the only one with a good experience of this place? I've called to have 2 vehicles picked up. They did it cheerfully, and offered a very reasonable price even before I asked if they would give me money for my junk cars. I've gone down to look for various things from the yard, and always got all the help I needed. I even had a couple of guys push me to pop the clutch before that junk car finally quit running altogether!

I gave them 4 stars because I like the quick in and out setup there. Drive in, weigh in, dump, weigh out, put a little cash in your pocket and go. But I have a question. Today (3/19/2016) I dumped off 1900 lbs of steel and drove away with $19.00. ?? Is scrap metal recycling really that low?

Crooks are we. The young man that says he is the owner is lucky there is a business the way he runs things. I had my stuff weighted at the post office before I took it there and he says thats not what it weighed

Scott Collett

Very helpful, great place with a great staff.

Went here Saturday morning round 10am , dumped all my aluminum cans into the designated bins waited for 45 mins for someone to weigh my bins. No one showed interest that I had been waiting there. Found a guy who worked there and asked him to weigh my cans. He told me to guess the weight. Long story short he didn't weigh my cans , I got chump change. Never again will I go to this facility

If I could give less that one star I would. Went here with scrap metal. Was told I had number 1 and number 2 scrap steel with 2 different prices. I could weigh out twice after unloading each type seperately. Chose to weigh out once, and just be paid at the lesser price. After unloading, weighed out and was told I didn't have enough weight to be cashed out. Was told I only had 250 lbs. and the minimum was 300. Left, and will never be back. This business is scum.

Navy City metals usually has the steel we need for smaller projects and has taken a lot of recyclable metals for us, too, but several members of their staff leave a lot to be desired in the professionalism department.

josh shep

I take my scrap metal here so I don't have to pay to take it to the dump.

I've had multiple bad experiences with navy city metal, varying from terrible customer service to having clean copper weigh much less on there scale compared to my digital. Definitely do not recommend them. Unfortunately it's the only metal recycling close.

Fred's Auto Removal

I've been bringing my junk cars to Navy City Metals for years and they always pay me a fair price.

Fair and helpfull

Sean Ivarson

All the people there were rude and all seemed angry at me for no apparent reason to the point where they wouldnt even look me in the eyes when they spoke to me. Also I was totally ripped off, they didn't separate any of my more valuable metals from the less desirable ones and ended up paying me practically nothing. Honestly I'm more angered by the way I was treated by the employees than I am about the money although that just fueled the fire. Make the trip to Tacoma, it seems way more out of the way but it will be worth the trip.

Went to Navy City Metals to buy a couple 4'X8' sheets of plate steel to cover the table top of my work bench. They had it in stock and it looked great but when I took the ticket to the office the prices were through the roof! A total of $324 they wanted, a doctor couldn't afford to buy there! I ended up behind the stock warehouse looking at surplus scrap which, surprisingly, was still expensive. The guy running the cash register in the office was inpatient and rude. He looked like he was told he was getting a divorce the day before. I could barely understand what he said and had no idea where the prices came from. It's the last time I'll visit Navy City Metals, very poorly run business. I would only consider going there on an absolute, have to have it, situation.

Everybody's really rude, and mad, to see you at Navy city metal yard. I would not recommend this place to anybody, except for it's the only metal yard from here to Tacoma, yet I've still had quite a few people say it's worth the money to go to Tacoma. I'd say somebody really needs to change the way this place is ran, please!!!

Okay I have read all the reviews and I weighed by options. I went there with a passive ... my idea was they simply do their job ...I was very impressed by the professionalism they were very limited to the information they could provide because it is scrap metal and that is what they deal with. Sometimes I feel as other companies deserve a second chance because of the fact that they consciously accepted the fact that some of the comments revert to non professionalism and at the same time they've got a pretty hard job so it works for me I got more back money than I thought I would...at the same time their job can nickel and dime them to well you know....just take the old batteries or what ever to then ...maybe don't expect so much ..gOoD job you guys .....

Revised: Levi called, explained, then fixed the issue by getting the dumpster to the site 1st thing the next day. Thanks

The guy with the buzzed head in the main office is a kind of a douche.

Brandie Daniel

They are great here! They get the job done and we always have a good time and few laughs when we go! They are pretty fast as they are a pretty busy plaxe but make sure everyone keeps moving and they pay appropriately never over payed never under payed very honest people. Only place that will get my services!!

Bob none

DO NOT GO TO NAVY CITY METALS ! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

ophelia bird

My business partner and I make regular trips to the scrap yard, at least once a month, and I want to say that we have had great experiences every time! The one time we had an issue we brought it to the owners attention WHILE WE WERE THERE and all was resolved before we left. Great customer service isn't proven by having zero complaints but in how the complaints are dealt with and resolved. Thank you for consistently aaaannd patiently answering our multitude of questions and educating us without making us feel less than. Much appreciated !!!!
