I've been recycling scrap metal for years and have been to all of the yards in and around Portland and Vancouver. Some are better than others. EH Metals is one of the better ones. In and out quick. Prices are low everywhere right now, but overall their prices are fair and their service is good. Plus you can get propane tanks filled there too. I'll def be back.

Prices are less than half of all the other yards. $40 a ton for steel? Come on guys. $0.25 for clean aluminum? Are you kidding me? No prices posted so you don't know your getting raped. Nice to see a bunch of b.s. fake reviews to bring their rating up past 1 star. My steel price at EH Recycling- $0.02 /lb ($40/ton) My steel price at Metro Metals- $78/ton. My clean aluminum price at EH Recycling- $0.25/lb My clean aluminum price at Metro Metals- $0.52/lb I've been recycling metal for 8 years, don't tell me your bad pricing is the going rate.

Took in 650 aluminum cans and all I got was 10.50 cents hahah I but it’s not like I was going to put them all back in my truck and take them back home every time I called to try to figure out pricing no one EVER answered. Rediculos amount of work to not even get enough to by a 12 pack. Knowing that I woulda gone to Oregon and gifted them to a homeless that coulda got full price and maybe used the money to get a decent dinner. Kid on the forklift was extremely rude. Worst customer service ever! Also, I wanted to turn in a few truck batteries and I thought they would pay somewhere in the same area that others do, 6 to 8 bucks a battery, but not even close. 15 cents a lb is what I was offered. That's like 2 bucks for full size truck battery. Don't waste your time here.

I brought down my old catalytic converter today, wasn't sure if I could recycle it or not so I asked the guy (unsure of name) and he tested it to make sure it was really a converter and he gave me $45 for it. Awesome place, wish I had more metal to recycle!

this place sucks. they will RIP you off with any chance they get. I brought two 40 foot aluminum ladders and they guy told me to just set them on the ground 2 seconds later he handed me 5 bucks. i said to him " your not even going to weigh them"? he replied "why. your probably going to get less then 5 bucks. I said I doubt that being that I have scraped multiple aluminum latters at this same location. he weighed them and it was 115 pounds of clean aluminum came out to be 27 bucks.

The guy that drives the fork lift is an awesome person every time I go there he's always in a good mood and he knows how to talk to the customers. The young guy that works inside the booth I'm sure he's a good person but he comes off as Angry Young Man my only concern with EH metal as someone that deals with customers daily he needs to learn how to smile and address customers with a different tone you could mistake his tone is being rude or someone that just doesn't like his job old might not be true but that's how he comes off overall five star rating if you ask me

Services is rude , I called a few days and was told my oem catalytic converter’s Where worth about $35-45 depending on the car . I brought both of my converter’s and was quoted $10 each when I brought them there which I find kinda odd , because before they gave me $15 for my after market ones. Needless to say don’t do business with them they’ll flip flop on prices

Quick, friendly service (I did go on a weekday near the end of the day). Got a few bucks for my gross old kitchen stove and trampoline frame and stuff - sure beats the dump! The guy that helped me unload was keen to notice I had some copper, and made sure that it was weighed separately so I got paid fairly for it! Business integrity! Awesome!

What a disaster! The employees are rude and carelss, but we were in and out and the prices were exactly what I had read online before coming. It was very dangerous and dirty. And the employees definitely have no training in public relations. Would recommend another center if possible, but the pay was right on the money.

Ive been using these guys for almost 3 yrs and have had nothing but great experiences with them I can honestly say that if there is in fact Shady stuff going on there I guarantee you the owner knows nothing about it because if he did I guarantee you the problem would be fixed immediately he runs a legit and respectful and honest business and that I can vouch for I feel bad for the people that had bad experiences there to me it doesn't make sense because my experiences have been nothing but good they will continue to have my business

HE'S A THIEF & TAKES ADVANTAGE OF HIS CUSTOMERS. I went in there with 75lbs of #1 copper n should've gotten around $100 n he gave me $15 n when I confronted him about it he told me "sorry about your luck, you should've gotten here earlier!" This guy is a total rip off. OSHA would love to see how he runs that place. There's an accident waiting around every corner! Nobody wears hard hats ect. The customers are in constant danger from the second they pull through the gate with the floor he made out of plate steel. Construction sites have warning signs posted when they use those n he's got them everywhere. Know what your doing before you go there or he will take advantage of you every chance he gets.

I’m gonna be honest with all your negative reviews. Grow up. This place is providing a service for you. Theymake it so you don’t have to go pay money to go to a dump . The owner clearly is involved with your reviews and cares about your feed back but you can’t be mad at him for constant negativity. I have not had any bad interaction with his workers or any worries about the prices. In the end he’s trying to make money for his family just like you.

DO NOT BRING YOUR NICE TRUCK OR CAR HERE. I brought some scrap and when the guy was driving the forklift he pushed the bucket right into my tailgate. I asked the guy what he was doing and he just stared at me and back the bucket up. Very disappointed in driving skills and what little they paid me for my scrap.

Horrible pricing on scrap metal called about over 150 lb of copper number1 was told that they were offering $1.70 per pound Metro metal Portland $2.45 per pound have to wait 3 days to receive a check in the mail at Metro metal but if your stuff is not stolen it's well worth it

Crushed beer and soda cans. 585lbs and got $88.00 it was 15 cents per lbs. Not even close to market price of 50cents per lbs. Told me after he dumped them and I couldn't take them back. My bad for assuming it would be close to market price

Awful costumer service. The guy was rude, had no costumer skills and treated us with a hurry. He quoted our metals incorrectly and we had to ask him twice if he was right, apparently he gave us the wrong numbers. Talking about safety, It's basically enter at your won risk. Careful if you get run over by their trucks. Definitely not going back to this place. I don't recommend it.

DO NOT GO HERE! after showing up and having to walk around trying to find someone, when I finally did the guy said someone would be out to help me and I can wait by my car. No one came out. After about 10 min I tried to wave another guy down and he looked at me and walked the other way. I don't care if it's a scrap yard at least try and have some customer service. After waiting about 10 to 15 min and two employees blowing me off finally I left. I work as an electrician and know a handful of guys that scrap copper regularly, I will make sure they never come here. What a waste of my time.

Friendly staff, clean establishment (it is a metal recycle, after all). We took a load of scrap metal in the back of the truck, loaded it into the bin they brought over, got scrap metal price, and left with a bit of cash. Pleased with the transaction, and would use them again.

I had full load clean aluminum and I guess I had fiew long gutters on top that might been steel and he counted 70-80% dirty aluminum when there was only 10-20% dirty metal. And I lost some money because I accidentally they metal in there which I though was aluminum. But the point is the guy didn’t tell me anything about it and didn’t care helping out so I am not coming down there again cause I lost 40-60$
