I done business with Dan for over 30 years. He's a really good guy and tries his best, but the in recent years, employees seem to have an attitude. I brought a transmission on July 31,2017. The transmission was put in my car and didn 't work. Dan from blue and gold offered to then have one rebuilt and would give it to me. I later found out that he had the original from my car rebuilt. 5 weeks later the transmission was put in and guess what It didn't work. Dan from blue and gold said they would send a truck right over and pick it up and have it fixed RIGHT. lol 2 weeks later and no one has picked it up. I personally spoke to Dan at blue and gold and he doesn't feel there is anything wrong with this service. I have paid to have two transmissions put in my car and I still don't have a working car. SMH and now Dan from blue and gold hasn't returned my calls.I understand these things can happen just really disappointed in the POOR customer service. I just called before I posted for Dan guess what he not in SMH.

I went into Blue and Gold looking for a headlight for my car-they didn't have it in stock, but Jason went out of his way to find out exactly what I needed, found the best deal (almost half the price of other places I checked with) and got it in the next business day. The times I have been there the employees have bent over backward to try to help me get what I needed. They were kind and curteous. The thing to remember-- to all those people who say they are mean and nasty-- is to treat others as you'd have them treat you, not expect respect you haven't earned. What I mean to say is that I haven't ever seen anyone up there be even remotely uncouth with a customer, on the phone or otherwise, so if you got them to be rude to you, you probably brought it on yourself. As far as prices, they're quite competitive with the places who make you pull it yourself. i.e. I had to buy a power steering pump. There was no way I could have pulled it myself, and my mechanic didn't have time to go get it himself. At LKQ I would have paid $27 plus an entrance fee to go do work I don't know how to do, but at Blue and Gold they handed me the exact part I needed within 5 minutes I was out of there for 37.88... I think $10 for the work they did was an exceptional deal!

I was very impressed with the extremely helpful, friendly and professional staff. They got me what i needed after looking it up to make sure that i got the correct item. They have a large inventory of parts old and new. They are open monday thru friday but closed on weekends. Their prices were very reasonable and they have a great return policy for used parts that i was really impressed with. There is plenty of parking but the lot is unpaved so not sure about handicap parking. Overall a great place for used parts and i highly recommend them and would go back again for my car needs.

These folks have lots of parts sales staff can be a little short, but what I did see while in their the phones ring nonstop and lots of foolish questions for them. This would irratate the best of us, owner really needs to figure out a way to assist his staff a little better. Obviously the owner is not reading the reviews because these could hurt his busines.

Worst customer experience ever, got a transmission from them had installed, transmission was defective called b & g said Dan would come out and look, the guy never showed had the transmission taken out and brought back (because no one ever came out) after calling and leaving dan messages for them to tell me it was void because the "pump" was "smooshed" complete bs, scam artists don't waste time and money going there

Well I have to say it was my first time in a salvage yard and I did not know it was so organized. They put a wrist band on you, give you a map and circle where the cars are that you are looking for. Cars were on rows and they were numbered. Had a great time and found a few things I wanted to take home and put to good use.

They provide me with misleading information the first time I called. When I followed up the man was rude and unwilling to help me out. I do not live in SC so I was trying to find the best way to retrieve the items, but they did not want my business and did not even try to accommodate me. Pull your own part. Directions given to find the vehicle. Entrance fee to look in yard. But no guarantee that you will find your part. Customer service friendly. Would give 5 stars if advised that the part is definitely there to pick.

If i could, I'd put no stars or negative stars! By far, this is the WORST place to buy parts. Yes it's a junk yard BUT there are places to get GREAT used parts. This is NOT one of those places. Yes the prices are okay-ish. But the parts quality is very low and on top of that I don't know about all the employees there. But Mike Sease there has got a serious attitude problem ESPECIALLY with returns! Oh and on top of that! There is "SUPPOSEDLY" a 25% "restocking fee" on the used parts. Restock it??? They don't wrap it up box it nor put it on a shelf AND there are no SIGNS stating that in or around the building about restocking fees! ANYONE who wants good used parts should go to the number one place LKQ or second best Dons Car Crushing. LKQ has great parts, great customer service! Terrible customer service. Asked about prices on particular parts to purchase, even as far to pulling heavy parts myself and was given terrible offers with no negotiations, then was lied to about what the parts cost brand new. Informed that the part was nowhere near that price based on my research and I was then basically called a liar and the price was firm for its condition, which was not even near new condition. Will not recommend to anyone. Remember guys they pay dirt cheap for these cars to be over pricing these parts.

Long wait times, sales reps not the best, guys in the back are alright. Parts are rather high priced and not in the best conditions. Ultimately had to settle on something subpar due to the lack of available parts. Update: Heard they changed the way they do business went back to look for parts for my truck they now charge you just to see if they have the parts you need. Their inventory system sucks too, they should arrange it year, make, model and engine in their system. Main benefit would be you not wasting money on parts they don't have because they're system doesn't specify engine type. Honestly this place sucks more now than it used to. Didn't really think that was possible.

I just received the BEST service EVER from Jason. My car has been broken down for 5 months and finally the part needed was located at Blue and Gold. Unfortunately, with not having a working car I was not able to go to Goose Creek and get the part. Jason was courteous enough to ask me to send him a picture of the part. Once he received the picture he immediately went and retrieved the part. Jason even offered to mail me the part. The part is in the mail and I should be back on the road shortly. Jason, thank you to you and your team for excellent service.

Actually, nothing to relate ... they're not open on the weekend anymore. Any dedicated auto parts business has Saturday operating hours ... and gives their employees Sunday and Monday off ... to facilitate potential customers who can ONLY get there on a weekend ... or who can ONLY work on their cars on a weekend. This company ... apparently no longer cares enough to open their doors on Saturday ... so I call that really "Poor-Fair". If they ever get their work ethic back, I'll write another review. In THIS economy ... comfy work schedules don't pay and companies need to pull in every penny they can. Saturday would be the very best dollar-earner for Blue & Gold, but they choose "comfy" ... and I choose "Poor-Fair". P.S: I remember many years ago returning from sea on a boomer and having these guys pick me up in Kings Bay with iced beer and drive me all the way back here to pick up my car from their storage facility. They were tops back then ... when they had that work ethic. I miss those guys ... and I miss that Blue & Gold.

I experienced good customer service. The salvage yard is not open to customers to pull parts, but instead they took me back to look at the part and make sure it was what I wanted. It was in good shape and I got a fair price. It was also much faster than going to a traditional junkyard.

Well that's not my issue when I immediately get told that and put on hold in the middle of asking another question... That's about as great customer service as I can expect out of a parts puller.... as much as someone taking my order at McDonald's. Guess they're rich enough not to need my business. This place is not professional at all. I would give them -5 stars if I could. My car was towed to this place, which cost $250 for a 3 mile tow, with a $30 daily fee to keep it there. I went to retrieve something on Tuesday and told them that I would return on Friday to pick up the rest of my stuff. When I came back Friday, they told me that Ive already been there and their "policy" is only 1 trip to the car. Mind you, NOT A SOUL mentioned this to me when I was there Tuesday. I told the lady working at the desk that they failed to mention this important information to me when I was there earlier in the week. I looked around and it was not posted anywhere. She leaves for a moment and her boss comes to talk to me...rudely...saying that it is policy and that they don't have to tell anyone about it. He was talking to me like we were about to have a problem, meaning he came to me like I did something wrong. I politely asked if I could just clean out my car and be on my way. They acted like the entire shop had to close down to do me this "favor." After cleaning out my car and being rushed by the rude woman from earlier, I would NEVER have anything to do with this company. Im sure there are TONS of places in Goose Creek that can do what they do, but better, cheaper, and more professional in a rational manner. Save yourself the trouble and do not use this place for anything.

Hands down the best yard in the Charleston area. Staff is pleasant and knowable and the best part and also what separates them from ALL of their "competition" is they ACTUALLY track what vehicle's they have in the yard, the isle they are on(isle's are marked on each end vehicle), they give you a print-out of all of the vehicles in stock that you're looking for and the icing on the cake is they also give you a map! Pricing is fair and about average but the ease of part picking and finding what you need is priceless. They are still upgrading the yard and this place is sure to only get better as time goes on.

It is a museum of car fatalities. Every car or truck is there for a reason. There is a story, a history, hovering above every car or truck there. Some are flood cars, others died of natural causes, worn engines, transmissions, some died of skin cancer or injuries. Others died in collisions or rollovers as if they had fallen out of bed. I'll figure out their cause of death most of the time I am happy to pay the $2.00 admission free just to be able to perform post mortems. I walk around until I get tired of walking looking for the causes of death, but I never have the opportunity to walk the entire yard. Blue and Gold keeps growing faster than I can keep up. Just today, I discovered a truck that had at least there bullet holes in the sheet metal all fired from behind. There are three rounds still in the car and I'm going to take more told to recover them next time I go. Somebody was fleeing from someone else that was shooting at them. That's the story. There are plenty of stories and histories out there waiting to be discovered and told. Go find one. If you need parts, bring water, a snack, the right tools a kneeling cushion or a tarp, and good walking shoes. You're going to need them. It will be a fun experience.
