Adams is the most convenient recycling company around and by far the easiest and quickest unloading area of any of the others. It doesn't always pay the best but, by the time you drive to Spartanburg you've just wasted any extra you might have made by going elsewhere. So, I have to give them a pat on the back.

Adams scrap is a horrible business. I've dealt with these guys a few times, and know others who have as well. It was a bad experience for myself and others. They don't offer the best prices. They will give you bad checks. They take stolen goods. They are also rude, and hard to deal with. This is not an ethical business. You should take your scrap to Omni source or elsewhere. I've had good experiences with Omni source. I've heard from others that Adams sells to Omni source, and I'm surprised they have a relationship with such an unethical company. I suspect most these positive reviews are fake (employees, and one shares the same last name with a owner according to their website) or from folks who don't understand scraping. You can get far better prices elsewhere.

Explosions occur frequently. I hope you're not there the next time it happens. They see the fines they receive from Greenville County as a cost of doing business. Every short cut they can take they will. They are under investigation for contaminating ground water and the Saluda River. Certainly there are more reputable options.

Go to take off scrap there, and because of a few pounds of telephone wire in 50 pounds of insulated copper, they charge it all as communications cable. That's 30 cents a pound, which means I got screwed 80 cents a pound on my load. Horrible service, and horrible ethics.

Bad business! Shouldn't of went here twice. I got metal in my tires cause they don't keep the yard clean. Their prices aren't fair, and my neighbor got ripped off by them recently. Very unethical business. Dealing with Norris Iron & Metal now much better prices and service.

Been there a few times and had good experiences each time. Read some reviews and see some people complaining about getting there at closing time and not being served....hmmm, just a thought, maybe plan on going DURING business hours. It seems people are spoiled by the “24-7,Walmart” type of schedule. We’ll, logic and common sense should prevail and folks should easily understand that small business cannot function in the same fashion as giant cooporateions can.

Terrible, took about 1100 lbs of copper wire, screwd me on the cost per pound, then the check over a $1000 was return nsf, very bad business ethics, to be honest I don't know why people even go there and how in the heck are they still open. I have not went back since and do not recommend it, there are other reputable companies in town.

I have been a customer with Adams since September 2012. Their prices are fair, the staff has been friendly and helpful. But like any business they have their "good days and bad days" and you learn to roll with the issues. If you take the time to ask questions, keep your loads separated, and learn to understand the scrap metal process then Adams will work with you and be helpful.

I called this place at the number listed. I asked if they would purchase a vehicle. I was told to call a different number. I asked the person on the other end to hold while I grabbed a pen, they then hung up on me. I called back and politely said "we must have been disconnected" but was cut off mid sentence with part of the phone number that I didn't hear because I was mid sentence. I was then hung up on with out so much as a "thank you". I called the second number and asked if they purchased cars for use other than scrap. Yes, they do. I was then told that it is up to the owner's discretion on what that value is and that I had to bring the vehicle in. As the vehicle doesn't move under it's own volition, I asked if there was any way I could get an estimate before bringing it in as it's very costly to have it towed. I was told then to call the first phone number that I called. Never was there any mention that they go ask the owner, or that I get to inquire with the owner. No, that would require logic. Overall, they were very rude and I really don't see any point in giving them any business. At this point they couldn't pay me to give them my business or recommendation. Apparently they don't care to field questions, bring in new business, or grow their reputation in a positive manner.
