I had the same results with their weights. I knew exactly how much metal I had and my empty weight. They where 900 pounds heavy on my empty weight. DO NOT go there, they are criminal!! They are used to doing business with all the local crack heads that do nothing but sell stolen scrap. Their prices seem higher, but in reality they are the same as everyone else. The price they quote you in tons is really a metric ton, which is 2204 pounds, not 2000 and they steal 900 per load from you. Very unprofessional, let them deal with the crack heads, go somewhere else!!

Ran out of Money...WHAT,You are suppose to be The LARGEST RECYCLER in the metro area within 200 miles,No money, Our money ticket was only 12 bucks,you all told us to come back in a couple of hours,we did.....Then ,Again no money???? finally ,after calling several times the so called gentleman says I apologize for any inconvenience,Sir,You are welcome to come Now and get your money....,we arrived within 5 minutes,and there were huge locks,And Signs posted closed,atOnly4:0 3p.m.,,,,what the heckistheproblem

This place is pitiful. I have done business here , but no more. They are understaffed or just unorganized or perhaps lazy. They quoted one price over the phone then paid another. They will flat hang up on you if you have a couple questions when they are "busy". Lots of other scrap yards to choose from that pay more and are friendly.

I drove about 20 miles to bring seven garbage bags full of aluminum cans to this business today. I called first to verify that they were open (even though according to the online post, they would be open until 4:45 p.m.) I got there about 12:45 p.m. and the gate was closed. I called from my car to inquire and was told they were closed all day. I didn't have time to ask because you hung up so quickly, but I am wondering why you didn't tell me you were closed when I called the first time? One thing is certain. I will not bring my business to you again.

The staff is rude and short with you. probably because they deal with tweaks all day. Anyway, every time I've gone it's never been worth my time. dont go here.

I do and don't love Metal Check, I have been going here for years even when they were on Sheilds. Since their move the lot to which they do their business has damaged some tires. My only suggestion is to repave your lot to help with ditches and potholes. Other then that they are great with price and courtesy.

The worst place ever. Hear my warning. Do not go to these people. I called them explaining what it is I had. The guy said bring it up here and he'd give me a couple hundred bucks for it. Drove a half of an hour there so they could tell me they didnt want it. In a truck that gets 10mpg. I then drove a half hour back home. Complete waste of time and money. Supposed to be getting money and instead you're wasting it. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Worst business I have ever seen. I should bill you for my time and gas. I hope you read this Tyler and Bill. Maybe I just need to contact the the head person. Take my warning people. seriously. They'll either rob you or waste your time. Go anywhere else. You'll thank yourself later. Sincerely, I can run a better business then you.

First off took a stock trailer up there on 04/08/2016 around 11:00 with some cans and sheet metal I was just trying to clean up my yard told me go around to the baler with my brother it made 3 bales took back up to the scales lady up front said one bale was dirty told the worker to power wash it but didn't act like he wanted too! So my brother took it said don't worry bout it threw it back in the trailer and they only paid for 2 bales took 3rd one home washed it off my dad had a doctor apt at the va on 07/08/2016 thought I throw it back in my suburban get it out of my yard got there around 2:00 pm took them out of my suburban proceeded to go to the scales and I told the workers bout what happened in april Then manager if u can call him that came out and accused me of stealing it I do not scrap for a living maybe go 2 times a year if that! He told me to wait for the cops cause that didn't happen oh yes it did I replied! I had that bale at the house for months! I told them let me see the video where I stole it! then I called my dad told him what they said he came over told them same thing told us to leave his garage cause didn't want nothing else stolen! and wait for the cops told him I didn't like being called a thief very disrespectful! Cops showed up I told them same thing they told him to prove it he couldn't so they said my word against theirs! If they ran their cameras back they would see I got them out of my vehicle! he actually threw the can in a container before the cops got there I didn't care bout the cans I just didn't like being called a thief! not even an apology hey if your reading this run your cameras back to the first time I went up there on 04/08/2016 ticket#131915 rude just down right rude! Cops told me I should just let it go so I left with my dad! worse experience I ever had !!!!!!!! cops were great though!!! would give this company zero stars but had to do 1 star to post this!!

one of my worst scrapping experiences. no integrity. Leave this place for the druggies and go somewhere else. I never left there feelings good but the worst experience was I brought 8 full bags of crushed aluminum cans and there have have been one or two clean aluminum pie pans and one or two balls of aluminum foil but 99% was can and the gave me less than half the value. I aint been back and I aint going back.

Terrible. Called ahead to check can prices. They were a little lower than other places, but this location was more convenient for me, so I thought I'd forget that extra nickel a pound. Between the hand signals and industry jargon I couldn't understand what the guy helping me was communicating to the unreachable person behind the glass, but they printed me a ticket and told me to take it around the building. When you get to the other side of the building, there's just a machine that scans your ticket and spits out money (the kind of place that just makes you feel like you're going to get mugged, but that's another story). The price per pound was LESS THAN HALF of what I had been told (apparently the hand signals were them downgrading the quality of my cans), and there's NO ONE to talk to about it. Seriously?!? How can crushed aluminum soda cans be anything but crushed alum cans? They can't rust. They didn't have debris mixed in. I would have gladly taken my stuff somewhere else, but by the time you get back around the building they've dumped them into larger containers with other cans and you have no recourse. "Five stars" in the category of ripping people off. I will never go there again, and you shouldn't either!

I would never do business with them again ever. The staff are very rude. The one and only time I went in to sell scrap I had collected for years off of my property and they accused me of stealing it from them. Luckily I had video of everything on my property. And they cheat you on pricing. I had my own scales and theirs were off by about 40% lower. Plus I took in a catalytic converter that was original and worth over $100 and they tried to tell me was after market and only worth $5. Do your research before you deal with them. I seriously considered calling the law on them after dealing with them for theft and fraud!!!

I've been here, they have a truck scale to drop off loads of steel, and also smaller scales with employees to help, the ones I met were friendly and helpful. If not there are plenty of regulars that could help, but watch out, some people that scrap often aren't trustworthy. anything to make a dime, never leave your stuff unattended, bring more than one person so they can watch your vehicle if you grab a cart to help move it to the scales etc. etc.

Took a 22 ft trailer full of scrap metal, weighted going in full and weighted again empty... I do a lot of hauling with this truck and trailer, and I'm was pretty sure that metal check was off on my empty weight , so has soon as I left metal check I pulled in to a certified scale for truckers, and sure enough metal checks scales were off 900 pounds...... will never go back, and will let everyone know about my experience. ...

I sold them 200+ lbs of copper. They ran out of money. Tried to pay me $527 in a check. I told them I didn't want a check. They ended up giving me $300 cash and the rest in a check. The check was bad. Their bank said there were no funds in the account to cover the check. That was on Saturday. By the time I got back to the business, they were closed. On Monday I took the check bad to them and they said the bank lied to me. The little old lady who "helped" me threatened to rip my head off but with different language. I ended up calling the police because they wouldn't give me my receipt back, for tax purposes. I should have taken the check to the district attorney's office. I wish I would have. Mistakes are made and I was willing to forgive them. Instead of an apology, they treated me like I was the one who wrote them the bad check! The obscenities this female used were incredibly disrespectful. And she used that language in front of my 4 years old son. Shame on them!
