My son had them put a motor in his car and broke front end parts, and the motor does not run right at all the rpm's at a idol are at 3 grand .....i would not let them work on my go cart, they said there is noting they can do....if they decide there is somthing they can do i will change this, if not i am ready to help my son get a lawyer..

You have Less risk going to craigslist then here. I have an old truck I use for general grub work. The dump, mulch for my house, moving friends… etc.… The tranny went out. I only paid $400 for the thing, some I though what they heck.. I will through a tranny in it. In short I asked for “A”, they said they have “A”. They gave me and charged me for something stating it was “A”. It was not “A”. I called A&D Auto Parts in Toledo, Ohio and asked if they had a 4L60E Transmission for a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 Liter 4x4. They said that they did. I asked them to pull it and I would be there the next day. I drove an hour to pick it up, they had not pull it and said they would not be able to get it until the next day. Needless to say I was not happy. However, I said, “No Problem”, things Happen. I will come back. I came back the next day and they had pulled one. I noticed that it had the tail housing on and not a coupler. I told them that this was a 4L60E form a 2X2 and asked if it was compatible. They told me that the coupler would fit and to just take the tail housing off and put the coupler. I did, and attempted to install the unit only to find that the output shaft is too long, the unit is not compatible. I then found out, that they knew this. I went back to exchange it. They were willing to do the exchange but the unit they were going to give me had 15K more miles on it and was form a 99. I asked if they would reduce it from $450 to $350 due to higher mileage and the fact that they had me drive up and had not pull the unit, then gave me a different unit that did not fit (causing me to waste many hours for install), many trips to sort it out. They said they would NOT adjust the price. I said I not agree to spend $450 on a unit with more miles. So I will take my core back and they can put the money back on the card. They said, “No”. They refused a refund due to them selling me the wrong unit. This leads me to hold strongly that they are dishonest, vile, immoral people that don’t care at all about their action or the harm they cause. I STAYED COMPLETELY CALM AND RESPECTFUL DURING ALL CONVERSATION and they continued to try and escalate conflict by cussing and being disrespectful. They are abusive, uneducated, ignorant people. In short I asked for “A”, they said they have “A”. They gave me and charged me for something stating it was “A”. It was not “A”. They then forced and exchange for an item of lesser value due to higher miles. Despite my protest and request for a price adjustment… which any good and reasonable business owner would do; BUT, They refused. THIS IS BAIT AND SWITCH! They did ZERO to make it right. If you read the reviews, this is a pattern. I am currently researching weather I will file in small claims, or if they have violated federal law, in which case I will file in federal court. Stay away from this business, or any other that is run by this guy. I clearly asked, (without being insulting, with no swearing, or name calling), “You are not going to adjust this price? Even though it is clear you errored and the exchanged unit has more miles? ALL OVER $100 bucks? What moral business person makes his customers eat loss due to the business error!?!?! Some would ask why am I going to spend another $100 to file and time to fight it over $100 bucks? Well, some folks are “ok” with being a victim. Some do not know what they can do and have no choice but to let this incredibly immoral and horrible business abuse, harm, and generally steel money, time and dignity form them. I will spend the rest of my life holding this company and the owners to account. It is now my moral duty to make it my hobby to bring justice to this guy. I will not be victimized without consequence. And, hopefully, they will think twice before they abuse some other poor soul that HAS to by parts from a junk yard. Get ready for court. Maybe, I can get class action going? This garage sale operation business deserves it.

I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff was here!! Even though I did not personally make a purchase, they made the experience great. I am part of a community outreach program through Mercy and Toledo Fire which helps people in need of various services. Without going into too much detail, we had a family in need with a disabled car that was due to be towed/impounded in less than 12 hours. If this were to happen, the family would be without their sole means of income which would obviously only make a bad situation worse. With very short notice, we asked the staff at A & D Auto to possibly tow the vehicle to where they are living to at least give them a chance to get the vehicle repaired and get back on their feet. With next to no hesitation, they agreed to help this family out of the kindness of their hearts!! And while my partner and I were inside waiting to talk, there were about 4-5 happy customers that had come in and found exactly what part they were looking for out of their expansive inventory. Prices seemed extremely fair and everyone was very friendly and straightforward without any hassling or haggling prices involved. If you are in need of a part or auto services, PLEASE give them a call or stop by for a visit!!

Waited around for 15 minutes while the guy at the counter bullshitted with another customer about Nascar. Was told they didn't have the part I was looking for and I wouldn't find it in Toledo. Found one at Northtown Auto and Westwood Auto, both at good prices.

When i needed a rim i had two options. A&D was considerably cheaper and had it for me the next day, NOT in a week. With my rim and the money i saved i got a tire as well. Great tread. Good prices. keep on rolling.

Very poor customer service. I called and was very clear about what I needed and told him the year, make and model of my truck. I said Hello, my name is Nicole, I would like to know if you guys have a rear driver side door for a 2004 Chevy Blazer. He asked was it an F-10 or a Trail Blazer. I kindly told him its just a 2004 Chevy Blazer. He said it couldn't be because Chevy only makes F-10s and Trailblazers not Blazers. He was so confident he was right and I was wrong and you could hear the irritation in his voice as he got upset with me. I just said OK, goodbye. He just hung up on me. I see why my friends told me not to waste my time with them. You don't get angry with a potential customer even if you think they're wrong.

This is my place of choice for over 10 years. I have never had a problem with my car, they could not repair. The people are very conscientious and friendly. The prices are great and I have never had a complaint with work performed there. They have a very high work ethic and stand behind their work. I have never returned to have a repair corrected. Horrible thieves alcoholic and junkies at this junk yard they will put a faulty part on your vehicle and refused to fix it while the part is under warranty I bought window regulators for both windows passenger window went out in two weeks parts still under warranty they said they cannot touch it without me paying for labor which I already have done

I drove two hours to pick up an engine they had listed as a 1970 dodge 440. When i hot there the counter guys were rude and acted like i was bothering them because i wanted to see it before i paid the $700 they were asking. You cannot tell by looking exactly what year that engine is but it was difinately a clean lookind chrysler big block engine. When i got home and ran the casting numbers it came back as a 1978 engine. The difference being that the 1970 engine had 350 hourse and the 1978 engine is only 195 horsepower. I called them because that is not what they advertised for sale and i wanted to return it and find the engine i wanted eleswhere. As you can guess they told me i was stuck with it and there was nothing they could do. I could have gotten a smog engine like this for $500 dollars from a friend but i drove all that way for the higher horsepower engine that they lied about and then overcharged me for it. Rude customer service and false advertising!

I had several issues with my van that I could not figure out. I do most of my own work.. I knew I had to bring it to a professional. A&D properly diagnosed and repaired my van. In addition to replacing the computer they fabricated a cover so it would not happen again. Thank you for going the extra mile for my protection. I would recommend A&D to anyone thanks for being honest and totally fair with the price.

Very bad service I bought a part from them and it wasn't the right one for over 2 months every time I talked to them they say that they're trying to get me the right one and now they couldn't get the right one and they said they can't give money back or even a credit because it's been more then a month since I bought the part f***ers

Awful service!! Called about my car and was told someone would be out to tow it and junk it. I waited all day, no phone call. I called back and asked if they were still coming out. I was then told they called me earlier and no on answered. Phone never rang, and no message was left. I was told, again, that he would drive out and be at my house to look at the car. That was in the afternoon. Come evening, still no tow truck. Maybe a lesson in proper customer service is needed over there. Complete waste of my day waiting on these people.

All yards are terrible, but this one takes the cake! Needed an engine cradle that they supposedly had 3 of, asked the front guy if he could have one of the many fork lifts pick up the car so I could inspect it, was rude and told me he "don't leave this desk" and to find a jack myself! Then come to find out every piece was rotted through and unusable! Horrible horrible place! If you do go there, pretend to sign the waiver, ask for help, record them saying "I don't leave this desk", go cut yourself on their unorganized junk and sue their pants off!!! Very very displeased!!

A & D truly go out of their way to offer great service. Their price was only a fraction of what the 'big guys' wanted to charge me. In my case they had to search high and low for the part I needed, and didn't tack on any 'commission' or delivery fee for the part. Their lead mechanic was constantly updating us on the status of our vehicle, and was very thorough, even driving the car, resetting the computer, and driving it again to make sure it was the right part in question. He even answered questions about my breaks, that I originally thought they were bad, but assured me they were still in good shape. Overall, the auto dealer who sold me the car recommended A&D Auto, Internet chose them as one of the top recommendations, and the BBB gives them an excellent rating as well. I as well, have to add MY OWN RECOMMENDATION for those seeking a trustworthy place to take your car for maintenance or repairs. -You're safe with A&D Auto. No high prices, no con's or fake repairs, absolutely dependable in every way.

I was having a buddy rebuild my AOD transmission, when he determined it was too bad and I should get a new one. He directed me here. They usually want payment upfront before they pull parts, but I told them I was coming from Lansing, MI and didn't have 3hrs to wait as they pulled it as I was very busy. They did me the favor of pulling before payment. On the way, I got caught up in traffic. They waited 5-10 minutes passed close to get me my part! Was very pleased by their kind deeds and service. Definitely recommend.

A & D Auto Parts paid top dollar for my 1993 (Sadie) Sable. She finally died. I would not go anywhere else for any automotive needs. Their prices are the cheapest in town. I recently went there for a key fob battery and even though they do not sell them, TJ, who works at the counter, went out of his way to send me to the correct place.
