Terrible place to do business. I called before and was told that all of the parts would be pulled by the time I arrived to purchase them approximately one week later. Upon arrival I was told that the guy that pulls the parts would not be in until later that day, so both myself and the older gentleman, "Chuck, proceeded to talk about several different parts and write down prices for each individual item. At no point in time was it discussed that in order to receive those prices each piece priced had to be purchased. The prices were discounted up front because of 2 reasons, the first being because I was pulling the parts myself, and the second according to Chuck was because he beat everyone elses prices period.
So I proceeded to the donor car in the yard with very little guidance as to where to find it. Then started pulling the parts by myself once I finally found it on the other side of the junk yard. Once everything that I was ABLE to pull off of the vehicle was removed I went back inside to pay Chuck. At this point he was very upset that I had gotten all but 2 of the 14 or so items that were originally priced. Chuck said that I could either leave everything out on his yard OR that I could pay the elevated prices for not buying everything as a package. I was scared, I truly thought I was in danger. He then angrily disappeared into his garage and left me to pay a younger guy who's name I forget.
If I had not already spent almost 4 hours in the hot sun I would not have purchased anything from these "gentlemen".
This is not the way that you treat a customer. This is not the way you gain referrals, recommendations and repeat business.
Message to Chuck and anyone else at Auto Express: Do not blame the economy for not selling as much as you would like, blame yourself and your unethical attitude and practices. I treated you respectfully, drove a long distance to come buy from you, kept my word throughout the entire process and you treated me very disrespectfully. Best of luck.
Caveat Emptor. Buyer beware.
