Here you will see the information of real people who know the services and products of Metro Metals Recycling (Scrap Yards) in the area close to the state of Minnesota.
Now the firm has a rating of 3.7 out of 5 and the rating was based on 59 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is really good, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the score is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Scrap Yards is classified in the category of Recycling center.
Came and picked up my car a full day before they had said they were going to, I actually thought the car had been stolen. Was not able to get personal items out because of this so I called them right away. Was told they would go through the car and bring me my items because of their error, was told they would do this the very next day. In addition to this I had a bike rack on the car, once again was told they would "make it right." Next day came and nothing was returned to me, I began to call and leave messages and not one of my phone calls was returned. After a week of waiting and making phone calls I went on my annual summer vacation. When I returned, my personal items were sitting in a big plastic bucket in my backyard and had been there for some time. The bucket was filled to the brim with rain water, thus destroying all my personal things. Car rack was nowhere to be seen as well, and since that time Metro Metals has not returned my phone calls or emails. Not even close to what I would call a professional organization. Update- Since I posted this review Irwin from Metro Metals has been in contact with me on a daily basis. He has made a point to make sure I am satisfied with their services, and most importantly he apologized for the sequence of events. While the whole ordeal was a pain, Irwin has made a point to make sure they are doing everything they can to make things right and that alone would cause me to try this company again.
do u really expect to get a car for nothing and have no issues. obviously if u don't work on cars or know a mechanic this is not the place for you
Someone keeps stealing scrap metal from my dumpsters and leaves metro metals buckets in the dumpster bunch of thieves go to this place
WILL SCREW U OVER. VERY POOR ADDITUDE AND COCKEY WOMEN WORKING CHECK OUT. RECIEVED NOTHING FOR 360 POUNDS AND TOLD US AFTERWARDS . WHAT A JOKE.
The best employees, very helpful and organized, even if they reject items
Wounderful people n funny people n also stupid dumd people n disrespectful also
Not really beginner friendly but fair prices, very clean, efficient operations with longer hours than competitors. Complimentary sodas & even ice cream on the hotter days, you can't beat THAT!
Paul and his team accommodated me being there just before close, and took care of what I needed in a very quick and courteous manor. Would give ten stars if I could, these guys are great.
Awesome place. Everyone there is friendly. Easy to talk to. You get in and out quick. Ill definitely be coming back more often.
Friendly people and they get you in and out fast with good prices!!
This place is way to small for the amount of traffic they get. Wait times are off the charts and none of the employees are any too helpful nor are they friendly.
Been a employee there for three months now they treat all of the customers Fair and the same throughout the whole process
I am all about this place
Quick and easy
I spoke with Irwin, what a great guy. I'm looking forward to doing business with them for years to come.
I was able to be in and out in under 10 minutes, paid and all!!!!!! Very professional and helpful. I'm going to do more collecting just because of how my experience went. Thumbs up guys!!!!!! You have to plan wisely and call ahead if time when dealing with any scrap yard. Certain times are busier than others
We've had good experiences with Metro, but in searching for Metro's contact info online, were disappointed to see several images/photos of your 'Pit Crew' (girls). None of these appear on your website, so apparently they were 'found' from your Facebook Page. I don't see any recent postings showing these scantily clad women, so perhaps you've discontinued this offensive practice. Reading some of the FB comments on these pictures/postings says a lot about why this is so wrong. Hopefully, this kind of 'promotion' has ended. On our visit on 4/1/2017, we did see some (new?), large banners with images of women suspended from the ceiling. Is this really necessary? We would very much like to continue using Metro as our recycler, but will likely move to another business, should this practice continue.
Stay open till 5pm like before! Lots of changes that are more favorable to the owners rather than the customers...If you only go a few times a year, like me, the changes have no benefits except for getting paid full scrap price on Fridays. Be careful driving thru the yard- might catch a nail in a tire :(
Excellent business with honest and knowledgeable staff. Well set up facility which makes it easy to bring in scrap metal.
We called salvage yards and other auto recycling...they said our car was too old, too many things wrong with the car (what?) Another said they would tow it, but pay us nothing...last call was to Metro Metal Recycling and so glad we did, great customer service, no hassles, quoted and scheduled pick up right away, within 24hrs the car was gone and we had cash in our hands...we recommend them and would use them again...Thanks :-)
They don't know there medals or they are trying to screw hard working people outta there $$ you have to watch every move, o suggest weighing your Scrap before you get there! I had 2 exactly the same. A/c units brought 1 in & next day brought other in & not only was the weight different, they tried giving marking all my metal as lower grade than the 1st! Watch yourself if going there!!
I just called with a question and they were very helpful.
Best setup
Legit prices and quick to drop an get paid.
People who recycle metal here litter and spill as they breakdown components.
nice place well put together and fair pricing without being too touchy about it being properly processed.
They smash cars within 7 hours of getting them. They also do not need a title when someone steals a car to scrap it. This company is horrible don't go here i think something is going on with the company This place should close down for good
Open till 3pm Saturday..comes in handy...fair prices..
ATM malfunctioned and did not pay me. I waited for an hour while they “looked into it.” Management claimed it paid me and it didn’t. Staff cannot be trusted here.
Gave .001/lbs for copper transformers. Called a small cardboard box 3 lbs. Wouldn't change after confronted. Wont go back there again.
Let's just say it's one of those hit or miss type O joints.
hours are lies. You should probably put that you will only pick up cars before 2:30pm.
Honest scrap yard. They require id once and once your in their system you can go and just give your name, which is nice. They pay cash on the spot for your scrap metal. They keep the driveway clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Go on certain days to get extra for certain metal. Check their website for scrap price information.
I recently bought tires from Metro and was extremely happy with the quality, price, cleanliness and the helpful staff there who helped me. Props to the Pit Crew who handed out yummy cookies and a nice hot cup of coffee! Thank you so much! I have already started to tell others about you! Way to go Metro! The recycling department are on it! Getting folks in and out of the facility and getting it done right! Will definately do business again!
Would be great if you guys could answer the phone that you have for people to call you on.
Giving the 5-star mostly for customer service. Quick to respond to any concerns and their manager is old-school, likes to try and make every experience the best he can. He reached out to me when I had a concern and we had a very productive conversation. Rare to find people willing to work with you like that.
Easy to do, easy money for my old truck.
All very professional, helpful & friendly
Prices for Scrap are pretty good compared to others in the Twin cities!
Not your occasional household scrap site. I waited an hour to drop off some aluminum cans and an aluminum box before taking them elsewhere. In this time frame I only witnessed 2 vehicles make it to the scales. This location caters to those that bring in scrap by the truck load. I waited in the parking lot for some of the time but there was little room to park, appeared unorganized, and no signage for where smaller loads can unload and be weighed. If you have a small load looking for a quick payout this is not the place to go. Edit: decided to try again today and found where to go but then was told that the program they use is down. I waited some time and then found out it happens all the time. They are not very customer oriented they had no backup system in place or an estimate of when the program would be working. They should be able to weigh your items write the items and weight on paper then send it to the office where they use a calculator to calculate the price and pay you. They don't want your scrap I'm pretty convinced. More wasted time. Edit 2: went back a couple hours later and was in out and paid in 10 minutes. I have revised my rating from 1 to 3. This time was probably more indicative of what to expect but it should not have taken 3 trips to achieve this outcome.
Alissa is wrong. I scrapped my own car and they wouldn't take it until I produced a title. I've seen other people violently argue with them and the refuse to take cars without titles.
Bought a few cars from this auction. Highly NOT recommended. Their cars are pretty much JUNK. That's why it's called a charity auction. All vehicles I bought are next-to-junk yard quality. These vehicles are not well maintain and ready to go to the junk yard that's why their previous owners wanted to donated to this auction. Save yourself the headache. Spend a few hundreds more and get something you can test drive and inspect before buying. Lot's better vehicles on craigslist you can buy. Even if you want to buy/fix/sell. I won't buy again. After the 3rd one it's enough.
I frequent Metro Metals and I like the fact you get cash and not a check. The guys that run the non ferrous scales are a lot more friendly and helpful than other scrap yards I've been to. I do miss the women use pass out ice cream and pop while you wait.
No one knows whats going on at this place the office says one thing and the idiot at the scale is saying something completely different all I was trying to do is junk a car that will never be driven again and they are acting like im selling them the car
