Great staff good prices
Great staff and good prices!
Here's the deal with Hwy 101 Auto Salvage. And to be clear this is not my typical scene so this review is from a inexperienced eye. Online inventory was accurate, place was busy but the team working was patient with a newbie like me. Lots were muddy so WEAR BOOTS. For parts they pull it takes a few days after you pay. They seem to do a great job. They answer the phone when I called and were quick and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. HEADS UP that the street / driveway heading into the place has LEGENDARY BAD POTHOLES.
Got everything i needed for a fair price
Not many suburban salvage yards left. Staff is a little crabby but over all nothing to complain about
I tried to purchase a hood and tail gate. They said that they will call me in one or two days when it is ready. I had to call them 1 week later and they said that they sold the tailgate to someone else. They also offered to purchase my vehicle for $100 until I hauled it to them. Do not believe what they say on the phone. Everything changes after they get you in the door.
Sold me a no good Caliper said come back in a Hour & Will have another1-& said it was there &then someone else took it &than gives me a check that 101's Bank wanted to charge me 5-Buck's to cash.Never Again
Great service fast and very very nice staff!!
The guy who pulled the rear end actually pulled the cover and check the ratio after the tag fell off. It turned out to not be the ratio for my truck. Although my trip down there might have been wasted , the time saved by not installing the wrong axle was huge. Thanks again guys for making the transaction easy
You find parts in this place good ones
Is it possible to give 0 stars?! Not only has it been 1 time of bad service it’s been multiple times! Called to get a part pulled, they didn’t pull it cause we didn’t pay but when we called they didn’t explain to us that we needed to pay over the phone so we went to get the part, wasn’t ready. Never got apologized to just got blamed that it was our fault. So we call again a second time to pay and they advised the part would be ready next day, the next day we go and try to get the part, again not ready. Needed another part called and paid they advise we could pick up the same day and they would call us when it was ready, called them at 430 wondering if the part was ready, again not ready. Do not, unless really in desperate need of crappy customer service go here. Horrible customer service and you’ll just get lied to anyways.
Tried to sell me a leaky radiator but my boyfriend caught it before we left and they gave me my money back
It's improved
The road to the salvage yard was littered with potholes. They need a better main office as well.
Not impressed; I found two hoods on their website that were listed as Grade A; I called to verify the condition and they told me they were in their U-Pull lot so they couldn't guarantee condition anymore but they were "perfect" when they put them out there. I drove an hour and a half to get there, just to find a very nasty salvage yard with garbage all over the place (much of it not even car-related), and no organization system so it took me half an hour to locate the cars by walking through their sand burr-infested lot. When I finally did locate them, one didn't even have a hood and the other had clearly been in an accident and the hood was very dented-up. I wouldn't have even called it a grade B, much less a grade A. A complete waste of time.
Well, first I looked online, and their website indicated they had the part I was looking for. When I got there I checked in and they told me they were two of the right kind of vehicle that I was looking for. So, the first person sent me to one side of the yard and I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I went back to the office and asked again, and I was told that they didn't have any, or that they were on the opposite side of the yard from where I had been originally directed. So I went to that side of the yard and there wasn't anything there either. I decided just to make it adventure of it because I like looking at old cars and that was kind of cool, but considering they charge you $2 just to go in and look at things I probably won't go back.
Great customer service
Been buying there since 1970
Great deal on parts
Always got the parts I need for the best prices. Nobody compares to Highway 101 Auto Salvage!
These people are honest and respectful. They offer a helping hand, and keep track of what they have. These guys have a great selection also! Conversation wise they may seem like they are being short, that is only because they are working hard for the customers. Great place!
Sold me a used fuel tank. They didnt have the part so they had someone go and get one for me and all within a day. Tank got installed and seems to be working fine.
Can’t find anything. Spent an hour walking around and didn’t even find the cars that supposedly existed. Employees could care less about your existence and one almost ran over my wife he was driving so fast to tell everyone they were closing. I’ll update my review when I find a better place you should go.
Great and helpful staff. Excellent prices too!
I love this place due to the fact that they treat people like the way people should be treated. Nice friendly staff.
It's more or less a junkyard. Now having said that, the people that work there are very friendly and know what they're speaking about. It's a pull it yourself place. I thought the prices were extremely reasonable. One piece of advice, if you're not used to doing this, MAKE SURE you bring the proper tools to get the piece(s) you're attempting to acquire.
Poor quality parts and rude employees.
I ALWAYS read the reviews before doing business with anyone. I'm shopping for an alternator for a 2001 Saturn. After reading the reviews for this place, I'm not going to waist my time or my money. It's easy to have friends and family give a (false) 5 star review to offset the bad ones.
I needed a new side mirror for my car. I called and they had it. They even pulled it for me and had it waiting when I showed up. Great service and very friendly.
Very friendly
(Translated by Google) Very good service (Original) Muy buen servicio
Great service, great price. No complaints. Would go back without hesitation.
Good prices
-Please like my review if helpful- We have received fantastic service on multiple occasions. They always seem to have the part we need the place is huge the place is awesome they give good deals to the public. We always have them pull or parts to save us time but they have a massive lot with thousands of cars. It's a place for cars go to die and give you a chance to fix yours.
Promised to call back and did, right on time, with the part I needed. Not a common part to get a quality core for. Good price and a promise to replace if it I found it was a bad part. I'll definitely be back to work with them in the future. Solid guys. And Tony, giving these guys a bad review just because they offered you a low-ball on your junk truck is pretty weak. It's called negotiation.
Best place to shop for used parts and Shannon is a great customer service representative I have been in the place more than 1000 time's and I will keep going back.
Very good staff
I absolutely love this place, staff is friendly and thier yard always has what I'm looking for. Not many people go there so you are never looking at bare bone cars. I hope these types of places never go extinct, they are special to a lot of us car guys!
Service was as expected. It was okay. They said they could order me a head light for $125 and I found the light at another place for $70 brand new. Not sure if he was trying to rip me off or just confused. Polite over the phone and eager to help.
Great prices, good selection.
Reasonable
Greatest Group of Car Parts Specialist's in Town.
(Translated by Google) It was great (Original) Estuvo muy bien
Terrible customer service. Incompetent employees.
They were friendly, helpful and they had the exact part I needed in the correct color for an excellent price!
Great place, lots of parts.
Not many cars here and the ones the do have have already been picked over. Ive only been once though and would go again to see if I just came on a bad day. Prices were good.
The manager here is an idiot. Don’t waste your time on this one.
Good selection
Great prices on parts.
Pretty standard salvage yard appearance, they had good communication and follow through with the time frame they tell you. Traveled from out of town and will call again when needed, thanks.
Good people.
Great supply yard!!! Very nice staff, great prices. Yes you can get paid for your driveway leftovers from your kids moving out.
This place seems to always have exactly what I'm looking for and need for my old 94 Cadillac. And the price is always perfect.
Good folks
Balls
Great prices and service. Very pleased.
Overall it was a decent experience. They had the car I needed parts from and although it's not very organized, it's a functional place. I still prefer U Pull R Parts, but if they don't have the vehicle I need, I'll come here. They have a lot of less common cars like El Caminos, Fieros, and even a dustbuster minivan.
Awesome place for parts. Very helpful people.
Parts rating. A = very good condition.
Cool place I like it I can pull my own beleavie me dam some are hard don't for get lubricated 10/40 or something
Nice
Awesome Staff 5 star... over the top helpful ..save me a bunch of money on all my car parts and tires.....
Deal with these guys on a regular basis for work and my personal needs I have been doing business with these people for over 5 years and they ROCK !!!!!!
Great prices. Worth the trip
Great guys, easy and pleasure to work with! Good deals too!
Place is horrible. I got so many potholes just to get in there you'll be lucky to not get a flat tire. Farts are overpriced under-promise. You want real customer service and parts that are real price look up your Auto Part guy on Facebook.
Great prices!
Very helpful, and helped get me in and out even though their phones were ringing off the hook! Will definitely be back if I need anything else! :)
Doing business with them for 58yrs
Cars are numbered but with no reason. Have to walk entire yard to find your car. Many of the cars are under water. $2 to get into the yard. I have been to many auto salvage yards and this is the worst one ever. Prices are great however.
Great people there. I have purchased used parts there several times. Fair prices, no hassles.
Charged $20 more than they quoted over the phone for the part.
Place sucks took a lyft to get there after beingtold they have the part.thenthey say they have to take it off.then they say they don't have time. Waist of time and money
Nice prices. Helpfull. Open on saturday.
Came in to buy a set of rims, and they found me a very nice set of tires too! Very helpful, friendly, courteous staff. And great prices. Highly recommend visiting here if your looking for a great deal on your parts.
They are a big help in my eyes period
20$ a piece he says on 2003 dodge neon motor mounts. If i pull them. Haha they are less then that new online.
Nice place, good selection, more Spanish than expected, overall 4/5 would only be improved by shark hotdogs
This place is awesome. One place where I can find parts for my Oldschool Audi and pick em myself....
Lot of car parts
Staff was helpful and extremely friendly, helped find the part I needed so I could get into my car and drive 4 hours home. Definitely recommended.
Horrible service very rude refused to return a product I just bought and called me names it was less than a minute between buying the product and time I wanted to return will tell people not to go here due to slander and refusing to return and item no where in there store says no refunds receipt says refunds with in 7 days so they will be getting investigated thru my bank and I'm getting my money back
This place is the auto salvage yard of the area, is a traditional place to visit for everybody involved in repairing cars. Since Capitan Bob was in charge until this day his son Kenney, also their staff always friendly.
I went to get a engine cool in fan clutch pulley for my 99 Audi and they charged me 40$, I thought that was great but the guy they had pull the part, pulled the wrong part and then they told me to wait while they find the car and they had crushed the car so then I had to go back in and find another car to get the part but the other cars had more parts on them so now they don't want to pull the part only give me my money back!!!! When the whole point was to find my part not leave without it and they have a Ton of the parts I'm looking for, service is ok, but not organized and some people that work there are not much help at all, the owners are ok as they try to get you the best help they can
Called on Thursday for an oil pan that I needed the next day for an Audi. Was told they may not have it off that day, but DEFINITELY by Friday.. okay great. Call Friday morning 9am to check status and am told it would not be ready by noon like I hoped, but SHOULD be ready by 3pm. So I say “should or will” ummm should it’s an Audi and you need special tools.. yada yada yada, as im looking at my engine out of the car. It’s not that difficult to remove. My issues here is don’t tell a customer a part will be ready unless you can deliver. There are half a dozen other places on car-part I could have called the day prior for this part, only reason I chose them is because I was going to be in the Shakopee area. I live an hour away. Thanks for nothing.
If I could put zero stars I would. Person I talked to on the phone was very rude to me, and offered me $50 for my truck. $50! Biggest joke I've ever heard would not recommend to anybody. Tires on this are worth $600+ alone.
Got a car horn there. Kent is a great dude.
I ask for E150 front end parts that's including the hub. I get F250 parts . The whole hub is different size 10 bolt to my 5 bolt. Couldnt use mothingnon the part. . They only exchange but I got parts elsewhere. I'm now stuck with this..F250 front end assembly. 150 .00 .. be careful check your part .
When you buy a park they don't check and see if it's working right and then when you bring it back they don't want to give you your money back they want to give you an store credit but you didn't pay for in-store credit you pay for a park that's supposed to be working
Poor service over priced
Great service, fast and quick. Bought a quarter panel and they cutted it out perfectly.
Sold me a part that they said worked it didn't worked, then told me I have to pay more money to get a working part if I wanted the car fixed.
Most of the time my dealings with 101 Auto Salvage has been and good except this time. I drove 45 miles to get a part for my truck what she said was in the lot I get there and no truck no sorry no apologies no nothing talk about a kick in the nuts
AMAZING to say the least. They came through for me when I was in a jam. I had been looking for a car for a kids camp to smash up and spray paint, and I thought the my luck had run out. HWY 101 was able to donate a car for the KID's Kamp for Angel Foundation and it was awesome. All of the kids loved hitting the car. It was a great stress reliever! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!! The kids and I thank you very much
I love going here for parts. Best deals in town
Great deals on parts for the DIY person.
It's awesome when u need a used part in the south metro there isn't many salvage yards left in the area. They work fast and are pretty cheap, also can pull it yourself if wanted. Been around for a very long time hopefully they stay for many more years
I needed two door handles for my Toyota Camry. I went through the work of removing them, went to pay and I only had nine dollars. They made me choose one to have. Really wasn't very pleasant either.
I thought I'd save some money buying a part from this place. Big mistake. I ended up throwing money down the drain and spending extra time dealing with the bad part they sold me. The people here are dishonest. Save yourself some time and money and buy your parts from anywhere but here.
Great place to get parts
(Translated by Google) Good prices and if it does not work, what you buy is exchanged for another, very good .. !! (Original) Buenos precios i si no sirve lo qué compras te lo cambian por otro, muy bien..!!
Only if they find descant help. That a person wouldn't have to go back and fourth, because they gave you the wrong thing. Make sure you match it up, before you leave.
Soo easy and great they are very knowledgeable and friendly
Disrespectful owner. I was trying to get some plugs for my battery. I said "hi how are you doing sir, do happen to have any plugs for car batteries, mine are missing?" He said to me "what do we look like, a junk yard?!" Then he cackled like a man-witch. He then said to me "we don't sell those, go try somewhere else!"
None of the employees wanted to do their job.
I ordered a part It came back broken I ordered a replacement and waited weeks later I call thay thay said it will be extra $20 BuLlShiT
This place is great! They had my parts and they were reasonably priced, they were ready ahead of schedule and I got help loading it into my car.
Always helpful. Kent is a good guy
Worst service ever. Don't waste your time. They will tell you its on a car in the lot and its not there.
Bought a charger and had a mechanic install it, of course the charger was bad. They have a 60 day warranty, but if the part is expensive and hard to install, the warranty won't help.
This yard is the best! When all yards failed this yard have the parts I was looking for. They even gave me a ride in their junkyard mini-van! Now how many yards will do that for you. (Yeah I know it was getting close to closing hours and I still had to grab all the parts I took off the BMW E30). All the workers were honest, kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. Thanks. If you guys are still closed on Sunday, can you guys open Sundays?
My favorite place for car parts
Great service and very helpful finding the parts needed, if I need anything for another vehicle I will call them first.
Had what I needed even though they were OLDER parts. Noone else had the older used parts. If you need something for an older car (used) Hwy 101 is one of your only choices, unless you're ready for a roadtrip.
These guys are great! Extremely helpful and helped me out of a real jam. I bought a used engine from these guys and some other parts. Everything works great! I'll be recommending Highway 101 to everyone. I didn't come across a single rude or unhelpful individual. They knew the answers to questions I had due to inexperience. Their place is a bit hard to find, but just trust the GPS. Really great experience, thank you!
Yikes
Great service at a great price. They pulled the part we needed and had it waiting for us when we arrived.
Car-part listed part as grade A. Definitely not a grade A ready to bolt on part.
Nice place to go to if you need parts, only thing is the rolls cars are not marked and they don't tell you where the cars are so you just go in back and walk around. Also no prices are marked anywhere of how much things are
great prices and the staff knows what they ARE talking about
Friendly... good price...
Very nice people
Didnt answer my phone call. Don't bother
Fair price, cordial service
Good service
they has good parts
Ronny Ferrell stole my pickup truck and brought it here. They bought my 8000$ truck for 300. Never bothered to try and contact me, the registered owner. Dakota county sheriff's wouldn't do anything and neither would 101. He's protected, being a cooperating defendant. So I'm out my truck. I can't imagine how many other people have lost their vehicles this way. And they still let that scum bag go through all the cars, be watchful if you go there. They let known thieves hang out there. Little do they know he's stealing from them too, and everyone else he comes in contact with.
Long wait time for parts
This place is a dirty hole in the wall if you want good service call johns auto parts cause this place blows donkey wein and there heads are not on straight.
Not many cars left in there.
Usually have what you need. Customer service is prompt but can be a little crass. If you have the tools and know-how, check them out. They also can special order in parts for a reasonable price
2$ for entry,,, and if you are first time they try rip you off, 60$ for part when new one is 100
Very helpful and reasonable
The staff at Hwy 101 is and has always been kind, helpful when I have called for parts. Kent (the owner) is an honest man & treats people with respect. If they do not have the part that I need in their yard, they always find it for me very quickly and give me a call when it is ready for pickup. Their prices are fair and I recommend them as a trustworthy salvage yard.
Expect to be disappointed about their inventory . If you still go to the yard plan on paying more for highly sought after parts . If you call ahead and get a price I would expect for you to plan on paying more than what they say over the phone . Also if you go there planning on having them take the part off for you expect for that to be hit or miss . If I could give them zero stars I would!
My dad had the perfect experience there for his tail light of his old Benz. They helped him order the part he needed at a reasonable price. He is a happy camper.
They are very helpful!!
Sometimes you need a part that isn't made anymore, so this place may have that special part! Check them out and see if you can find what you're looking for!
You try to support local buisness, you try to help the little guy, But all he wants to do is rip you off! Every single time i try to go there, call there, the part i need is quoted nearly double what you can find it for online, BRAND NEW. its a shame the world cant work the way it used to, but greed takes over, and thats what you get. Plenty of salvage yards in the area, and you think they would want your money. you can practically hear the employees laughing in the background when you ask for a price.
Not bad they have a lot of cars now
Took 6 days to pull a part they said they would pull the next day. Drove 40 miles on Saturday because they advertise they are open on Saturday only to see a hand written sign on the gate that says they are closed on Saturday in the winter. When I asked them about it the reply was we dont know how to change it.... duh.
Nice
Had a part I desperately needed, got a quote then they jacked the price after I pulled the part.....
