I came to Rockville metals to recycle a box of lead scraps. There was barely a wait. The man working in the front was very friendly and helpful. I got $12 for the lead, which for me was fine, as I was mostly interested in making sure it was recycled and not leching into the environment. They even offered drinks and popcorn!

Good for professionals bad for amateurs. So I have driven past this place many times and my parents had scrap on their property they wanted to get rid of. I loaded the truck and headed to Rockville Metals, later would find out it was over eighty-five pounds of scrap. As I was pulling in a guy with a vest pointed me to drive towards a semi-truck with trailer that was backing out with spotters. Luckily a spotted chose to alert the driver before smashing my vehicle. I was directed by another worker to a spot. He looked at what I had and someone driving a forklift haphazardly dropped a gigantic spill bin behind the truck. I loaded up the bin and waited for atleast twenty-five minutes as there was a wait of people. The entire time forklift drivers are barreling though the narrow back area seemingly without concern for safety. My scrap was weighed, given a ticket with a code to get my cash from an ATM. I got seven measly dollars and it took almost an hour. I feel as this place works well for professionals but private individuals it's a risk of health, along as a waste of time and money.

Quick and easy. I made $6 selling old car parts that I would have otherwise recycled. It was ver easy, you drive to the back they weigh your items and give you a receipt. You take the receipt to front desk, there’s an atm kind of contraption, you put your ticket number and out comes the cash.

I went today around 12:30 pm expecting it to be busy but it wasn't. The ground is is somewhat clean and what I mean by that is some yards you go to you end up with chunks of your tires missing or even worse a flat tire. Getting payment was easy you go in they weigh you,you dump your scrap,reweigh and than they give you a receipt. Take the receipt to the office atm. Insert the 4 digit code and out comes your cash. Plus they offer you water or coffee and they also have popcorn. I got coffee but no popcorn. Anyway the best scrap yard I've been to in awhile plus their payout are fair.

Great prices and great services. Love the popcorn and drinks. However, take a look at what they list in the receipt, they can rip you off quickly. I took copper #1 copper #2 and brass and they only gave me copper #1 and the rest of the weight of #2 was added as brass. I asked to revise it as I weight me metals prior going there. Got a few extra buck for the copper that was not added as copper. KEEP EYES OPEN.
