The evil white witch behind the counter conspired with the manager to steal $85.58 from me. She nows I bought the part not up to a week ago, she recognized me and the part and she knows exactly how much I paid. She could have just exchanged the part. I have seen how the interact with other customers; I guess racism will never go away. I hope all those who steal from the poor burn in the hottest place of hell.

Ignorant at the desk. Ignorant when you go to pay. It's only a junk yard, but customers still count.

Expletives would be too high of a compliment.. WORST JUNK yard EVER, WORST customer service experience EVER.. Greeted by a girl who was too busy stuffing her face with chips for five minutes to do her simple job of checking the customers through the entrance.. Absolutely no help or idea as to where a person can find what type of car, poorly organized with different makes and models all lumped together.. Though I actually did find the part I was after, I declined to purchase because after waiting an additional five minutes for the extremely rude lady at the checkout counter to acknowledge my presence there, I was informed the cost of the HEAVILY used IAC valve which was covered with carbon deposits, would be $15.. That's $1.50 more than one would pay to have this part delivered to their home NEW with a warranty.. So, prices comparable to NEW PARTS, poor customer service, a yard disorganized t the point that it poses a serious threat of physical injury- too say the cars are too close together is an understatement.. there is little to no way to safely remove parts from vehicles due to the close proximity of the vehicles to one another.. And a TSA type search to leave a yard which does not have ANYTHING worth stealing much less purchasing.. Save your time, buy the part new online or from a local parts store.. Run this two bit operation out of business.. I do not know how a place can charge this high, treat people so poorly yet still survive.. Do not buy parts from Crazy Rays, do not sell cars to Crazy Rays.. So that one day we will have a better place to buy parts from than Crazy Rays.. I will never do business with them again..

To start, I am a fan of junk yards. I frequent many around the Baltimore area. We all know none of them are perfect; crap everywhere, people breaking things, tripping hazards.. hence the word Junk yard. You better expect that when you enter. Ever since the Crazy Ray's yards have been bought out by LKQ (a nationwide junk yard-based corporation), their prices on just about everything have gone through the roof. 3 Years ago, I picked up a pristine set of tail lights from an 86 Monte Carlo for $25 and change.. both tail lights included, and in those days you wouldn't get charged extra for the probably burnt out bulb inside! Now you will be lucky to get a set for $60 from them and it better not have a half inch of harness on it or a bulb inside if you catch my drift. Now, because LKQ is nationwide, and they ship parts to many different shops, customers, dealerships, etc. You better bet they sell a ton of parts. This means all of the good parts on newer vehicles will be stripped before most of them even get placed in the yard. On to my most recent experience at Crazy Ray's on rt 40 in Edgewood. I pulled myself a supercharger with intake and a throttle body, engine cover along with other tiny odds and ends (a solenoid, vacuum hoses and a few sensors). I bolted the throttle body, supercharger and intake back together because it was easier to carry that way while i had to hoof it up the big hill. I got to the window and the guy there was cool and helped me get prices on a couple things on a previous visit such as superchargers being $50 or $60 (can't remember off the top of my head and don't have receipt). He starts ringing everything up for me, then the nosy heavy-set lady who all the other reviewers complained about poked her head out and started pointing out that the intake and throttle body are separate parts (understandable) then takes a sh*tty tone of voice because she thought i was trying to pull a fast one when we all know it's easier to carry one heavy thing instead of 3 at the same time, or making multiple trips. At that point she started going as far as saying the upper water neck on the intake was separate and even the thermostat. This *derogatory name here* pointed out EVERYTHING being all sh*tty while giving me the stink-eye. Near the end of checkout, I had to pay $218. I was $8 short because I didn't think i'd get screwed that much. I ask them if they would let me slide on one of the sensors, because we all know they'd probably just get thrown in the garbage anyways. What happens instead of just letting a good paying frequent customer have a sensor and actually using it? They throw it in the trash can right next to where i'm standing. I lug the assembly out to my truck, throw it in angrily, drive back to the window to get the nuts and bolts I couldn't carry, and they threw them out too. Words cannot describe how infuriated I am with this yard in particular. Otherwise, the yard itself is spaced out and very well organized. Be prepared to get screwed at the counter by the fat lady.

Crazy Rays isn't what it used to be.. I went for an intake manifold and throttle body for a v6 engine. (This was at a different location granted, but still the same mentality every time I seem to go in the past few years.) I was charged $178.00 for this part I spent 2.5 hours of my time taking off. Basically charged double because the manifold was designed two pieces plus core charge-plus every nut and bolt attached, plus every sensor and core for those.. Crazy Rays was not this "picky-greedy" in the past. That is how the owner was able to expand his enterprise...by selling parts cheap to keep a steady flow of income from loyal returning customers...and keep inventory moving through the crusher. Not sure if they know that the people who are at the registers are dollar dimeing their customers or what?!? It used to be pretty straightforward (still is for certain things if you need ONE thing at a time..say a mirror or fender etc.) For example.. If you need a complete motor, you might as well go to a wrecker that is willing to fire it up in the car so you can see and hear it run PLUS get a 30 day guarantee on it, you really should go somewhere else. You'll very likely spend less money getting the whole engine COMPLETE. NOT DOLLAR DIMED FOR EVERY NUT AND BOLT or BRACKET OR ACCESSORY STILL ON IT!!!!! You WILL get charged by Crazy Rays $400-500 for that $175.00 motor. Sorry, that's not how they grew their business in the first place. I'll go to the little guy who is trying to make an honest living.

I live next door to the yard and they have a big selection. For the most part they have anything I need for both of my vehicles.

JaVa Script

There some redheaded hillbilly sweat hog who like to give people a hard time and then when time to pay she will overcharge you for part by charging for another part unrelated to what you're buying then when you question it the price they play stupid so know your part prices and if you're buying a smog pump she charge you for a vacuum pump big difference in price but my review is just because i don't like her bad attitude

As long as you know how to pull your own Parts it's one of the best places to find what you need for your car.

Just went there today Saturday 07/20/19. Best experience I've had there because the nasty fat woman wasn't there at the check out! She is very rude and overcharges regularly by charging for every part individually. I previously bought a USED bucket seat ($31.53) and she charged me separately for the tracks ($17.14), plus the environmental fee, plus tax for a total of $54.94! Didn't realize it at the time as I had other items on the bill also. If I had I would have left it there and bought a new takeout on CL for $75. I think the reason they are listed separately is for if you are only buying the tracks or the base separately. I've never had this problem at any of their other locations. I swore I'd never go back to this location, but they had the truck there that I needed parts from so I reluctantly went there again. Today was great, the guy at the checkout charged exactly what I saw on line and was friendly and helpful as was the guy up front when you sign in. A young kid that was working in the yard even brought water out to those of us working in the yard (100* today) and hauled my heavy parts up front for me in his "yard truck". That hill there is a killer! The moral to this story: Check to see who's working before you go out in the yard! That's what I'll do from now on. The 5 stars is for today only, not for my previous visit.

There is a guy there who I think is the manager, a white man. I seen this person give deals to others for parts that others paid full price for the same part. I should not have to pay over $65 for a bumper cover and watch another person get it at $20. You are a CORPORATION NOT INDEPENDENTLY OWNED.

M E

went there today has been months since i been there...place was filthy trash and parts laying everywhere reminds me of erdman ave years ago which is really nice now..anyways tried to charge me 35$ for a small harness which is about 7$ and than charge me for a window regulator and it was a heater core electronic actuator...people at the window had no clue what parts i was trying to buy and tried to charge me 3 times what the actual prices were! i went to poor boys and got the same parts for under 20$...ill never go back to this crazy rays again incompetent employees and a filthy yard truly sad!!!

The guy who drives the big loader in the yard will help you, I would have rated service lower due to the nasty female at the checkout counter. i can't take pictures?? PLEASE!! what it is it , a witness protection area? This one is twice the size of Mt. Airy and a good workout too as it is built on a hill. Not much in the way of older , 80's, 90's, trucks.

Low Rider

My problem is not with this Crazy Rays. The one on Hawkins Point are a bunch of A Holes. They charge by who works the window. If it’s the Spanish guy expect higher costs. I see them outside of that place I’m going to give them a piece of my mind. Jerks

Josh Rudy

Yard is very well organized and clean for a salvage yard. I used my phone to find all the cars I picked from. The problem was the cost. It cost us $60 for a taillight, rearview mirror and a plastic interior piece. I looked the items up online and found them for a few dollars more then what i paid. What a rip off. I should have walk away. I've been to plenty of salvage yards and never got taken like that. I won't be back.

I have never had a problem when dealing with anyone at LKQ. Fast, Friendly, and somewhat professional. They generally have what I want or need and have offered to look something up for me if it wasn't available right then and there. Reasonable prices too. A pleasant buying experience every time for me.

Cars in the yard are too close to each other , no easy access, just shows complete disregard to customer service, Whoever came up with that idea should be FIRED

Went in to get a rear window motor. They charged me the same price as buying it brand new from a car dealership. Not coming back.

I've been to this junk yard today and trust me I will never be back not because it's a junk yard but you may be disrespected for no reason at all by the first person you see which is the person sitting at the front desk very very very disrespectful I would rather give my car to the Salvation Army then to lower my standards!!! hence go's the saying the junkyard dog

kennedy wall

they always close 30 mins too early but wide variety

I go to the junkyard regularly the one in Baltimore, Hawkins point, Jessup, Mt. airy and Edgewood. Every time that I go to Edgewood the Old lady at the counter with the red hair. always tries to give customers a hard time happened 3 time with me And witnessed 4 other people get the same treatment. Always trying to overprice on every item( even after pulling up the price chart online they have). As I mentioned I go to the junkyard regularly and there are certain parts that i buy repeatedly and end up paying MORE for the same exact part at Edgewood ONLY when she is at the counter compared to other locations. Her coworkers have witnessed her stupidity. I have had 2 of the employees speak negatively about her to me on 2 different occasions. I understand it's a junk yard not expecting 5star service but also not a window for argument and disrespecting customers.

Best auto parts store

Great pick it pull yard. Awsome inventory clean yard.

The only junkyard you have to pay to walk in. The prices are wack how do you charge a core on a junkyard part eBay is a better solution than this place.

Richard Moore

John Goeller

Good place to pick your own parts. Nice selection of vehicles. $2 to walk the lot.

Aaron Harrington

I read the reviews previously for Crazy Rays and was a little leery when I went. However, the experience couldn't have been better. I was searching for parts for my 1984 Mercedes Benz, although they didnt have any there, they did have other Benz around that had parts that worked for my car. The yard was fairly well organized so I didnt end up hunting the whole time, but rather just sticking with one area. I went to the 'new' yard in Edgewood, which is still rather small but it was great. People werent the most friendly ever, but they made sure I got the assistance i needed, which is all that mattered. AND it was CHEAP!

tyler ruff

Prices are insane got rubber window molding and was omost what it Would be brand new

Patrick Betz

Gotta love edgewood, don't love walking up that hill. Got plenty of parts from this yard before. Not as many characters walking around as the erdnman or jessup lkq but still a great enviroment, bring the whole family!

Worst # #LKQ I every Being to was on Vacation Visit. My Family Had a some car issue so did some research they had the car in there Inventory that was fine. went there Paid my Entry Fee thinking that it will Cover me to Another Yard since it's the Corporate Business if didn't find my Part at this Location in Midwest once you been to same LKQ you can Enter the Other Yard Without Paying again once you have Prove of paying the Entry Fee Never will Go Back to this Location. Lady there had an real bad Attitude when I ask for the Manager Saying every LKQ Pick your Part Yard Have there Own Policy

Linwood Wilson

Was very nice. And cheep

Sold a car to them, had it picked up, Paid for the towing. MVA has file the car wrong, Now they want proof. We moved and can not find the papers. I was just told that it will cost me an extra 100 dollars for them to give me another copy of the receipt. WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! They said it is because they are not computerized and need to do it by hand. OHH do some work. How hard would it be to look back 2 months. The rudest lady ever on the phone that was really just laughing saying ohh we found a way to screw you over. HAHA. Go's on to say on that missing paper it says to hold on for 5 years. I understand we misplaced it. But 100 dollars to make a copy. Shame on you. This has to be the worst place. I will not end here. I am taking this to the BBB to see if they are registered also. The lady who answered the phone needs to get a new job, she sucks at customer service, and if she has been there as long as she has. Than it shows how this place does not care about screwing over the client or the respect or customer service that should be offered in any business that you would like return business with. Just a shame.

Known as Crazy Ray's used auto parts. Great service and prices. Check the website out because the vehicle list changes often. Junkyards might be an eye sore, but they help others to repair their vehicles at a cheap price. Highly recommend if your looking for something for your used car. 2 dollars to get in, must be 17 or older. No torches or power tools. Back packs are allowed but all bags (including compartments of bags) will be searched before and after going into the yard. -Skyhook

The woman behind the counter gotta go , most Racist being out there .. robbed me of 20 bucks litterally asked me for my change back because she had given me too much haha , before I went and pulled an engine I was told it would be 200 with yes a 30 dollar core by the lqk operater so I figured in my tax with those numbers and at the time to pay this woman says 350 ?! I bet she eating good hope she sleeps good too with what she does to people.. there’s a god though

Worth the travel, worth the effort. I went to this pick your part yard. Not only did I find a hard to replace OEM bracket, but unlike new it was very affordable. The website/app is up to date, the yard is organized and cars are accessible. My interaction with the employees,(yes even the red head most of the negative reviews are about) was polite and courteous. But it's the selection and price that are the star of the yard. Check inventory first, bring your tools, take your time and you can get a real bargain. I bought 2 headlights, an air box and a frame bracket with all screws and fittings for less than the headlight assembly themselves.

$1 entry fee and a huge lot makes this a great junk yard. Excellent selection of cars too

Bob Gray

Got a free admission by creating an account on their Web site. The car I wanted to look at was right where the website said it would be though it didn't have what I was looking for

Adan Gonzalez

It's good place for all parts

Ian Y

Went to the Edgewood yard yesterday, just a warning if you are going for a fuel tank they do put a hole in them to drain them. Prices are more than fair, and truthfully a really well organized junk yard with access to the parts you need. Also nice they let you in with a toolbag, and provide wheelbarrows so you can carry something heavy to the checkout counter. Good selection of vehicles.

Matt tS

Google satellite this specific junkyard. It's microscopic compared to their other ones. Good service or not, the bottom line is what they have to offer.

Hugo Lopez

Place has a variety of cars, huge selections, but can get pricey depending on what you take, not allowed to take wheel barrel out of yard and there is a lunch truck outside, all and all the place is ok.
