They will lock you in for three years and go up on the price every year. If you do not send them a certified mailed letter or 60 days before your contract ends they will automatically renew it for three more years. Their contract only benefits republic. It is almost impossible to get out of and they can raise the price and charge you what they want. Their customer service is some of the worst I have ever encountered.

On June 6th, 2019 a storm passed through Baton Rouge flooding many streets. Didn’t seem to bother The Republic truck driver as he didn’t slow down in my neighborhood causing water to go into my garage and ruining some things I have. #nowakezone!

They charged me $60 to pick up my trash can when I moved, but the new tenants used them for trash too so they never had to come pick up the can. It's been 3 months and six phone calls and I still don't have my money.

Truck 2476 is servicing my area & the truck is dropping more trash than it is picking up , all of the trash cans are knock over & the truck is also releasing trash from the side of the truck into the street this is unacceptable & not what we pay for

They seriously SUCK! If you have a choice for your trash service DO NOT GO WITH THEM. They go almost a whole month without picking up my recycling, even after I put in numerous request and several calls, they let me know they will pick it up next day and never do. We have to ask the trash people to pick up the recycling when they pick up the trash because otherwise it would never get picked up.

After many years of poor service and ridiculous prices I finally went with a different trash company. I was supposed to get a $87 refund at time of cancelation. Two months later I still haven’t received the refund and the last time I talked they told me it was only going to be Refunded $15 because of obvious hidden charges for container pick up and fuel surcharges. I wouldn’t recommend this company at all. They are underhanded and Deceitful. Hopefully you have options in your area. Even if the other trash company is a little more go with the alternative but they probably will be less.Republic service prices are very high.

Initially decided to switch to republic bc they offered recycling. We have decides to cancel service due to missed pickups. We call customer service and they schedule a missed pick up and they still do not show up to pick up. Do Not Go with Republic.

I have called 4 times & have called the parish. My trash along with other homes down the street was not picked up last week. This is a regular occurrence. They keep saying they will send someone but never do. These people are garbage themselves. If I could give a negative star I would. To qualify for a job here you have to be a certified idiot.

Since 8 weeks I’m trying to cancel service and getting the trash containers removed. You’re just dealing with the ABSOLUTE WORST company in the whole state of Louisiana. I believe Republic is just one big scam.

They charge $160 if dumpster is blocked. This is way out of line, especially considering the monthly charge is $43 per month. Will be strongly suggesting that all tenants drop their service. That's at least 5 accounts.

I called and made a request for my garbage can to remain upright after each pick up. The next week and every week to follow it was perfectly placed by the street. Very nice customer service and even followed up with me afterward to make sure everything was ok.

If you want to waste your money and never have anything picked up, then you should go with this company! They are by far the worst service company I have ever dealt with in my life. I have given them so many chances to make everything right, yet they still cannot follow through. My trash service is routinely missed and often times I see the driver has picked up some of my neighbors but not mine and a few others. I have never made a late payment to this company, yet they feel the need to miss service when I pay in full. Called to cancel today because I am tired of chasing these people around and the customer service agent informed me that she would disconnect if I continued with my tone. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! If you don't like my tone, then work for someone who actually performs a service I am paying for. I would give them zero stars if that was an option. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Now that I've seen their overall 1.2 star average rating I'm not surprised I've had issues with this company. First off, they won't pickup anything that can't fit into a single canister. So if I have an extra garbage bag that I can't stuff into the actual canister then they won't pick it up. This is the first waste management company I've ever heard of to do that. Second, the previous owners of our home had 2 garbage cans and 2 recycle bins. I've requested to have the extras picked up as I don't need them any longer, one of which is broken due to their employees breaking the wheels (which has also occurred multiple times). Republic wants to charge me $50 per can for pickup when it's their own equipment. How a company intends to charge you to pickup their own equipment is beyond my understanding, especially when one of them has a broken wheel due to their own employees. We said we wouldn't pay this fee so they told us they wouldn't charge us but that they intended to charge the previous owners of our house in order to pick them up, which is total robbery in my opinion. Then they continued to tell us that they would pickup the extra cans on Friday. Today is Wednesday and is regular garbage pickup day. Their employees not only emptied our trash as they should have but decided to take the UNBROKEN garbage can instead of actually picking up the extra ones on Friday as they said they would. So now I'm left with the broken garbage can that I can't roll out to the sidewalk. This company is a joke.

I have had extremely poor customer service over the past several months. I had a billing issue that should have been resolved since December 2017 after many calls. No one followed up as promised and every time I call it’s like starting over. Today I was put on hold for over 20 minutes! I chose this company because they have recylcling but it is not worth the poor service.

after countless calls to ensure they stop dropping half the garbage on the road, i cancelled my service. Called and paid an outragous bill they said i owed and made sure it was paid in full. 2 months later they turn me into a collection agency. now they dont answer the phone

This company is a sham! Weekly you never know if they will preform the services you paid for. They don’t refund your money for what they failed to do. Constantly change your service dates. The best choice you can make is DONT USE THIS company!!!!!

these people regularly miss our pickup and I would have to contact them to come out. they have since ignored all my request and I called in and got a rep and told her how I wasn't please with the service and she hung up on me. bad service and bad customer service. I have also emailed there management and was also ignored.

If I could give them zero stars, I would, because their customer service is THAT terrible. I am typically fairly forgiving when it comes to customer service (things happen and I try to be understanding). I have had nothing but poor experiences with Republic. They regularly miss pick-ups (either they just don't pick up or they are REALLY late). Additionally, our garbage container was stolen so I called Republic to ask for another one. They tried to charge me $100 for a new container. I told them that I had a hard time paying that amount of money when their pick-ups weren't even consistent. They knocked it down to $50, and I still argued a bit. Finally they agreed to drop it off for free. It's over a week later and I still haven't received my container. Unfortunately, this is very indicative of the type of customer service that they offer. I am going to call them today about my container and if they can't have it delivered in the next 24 hours, we will be canceling service. This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. Truly... steer clear!

As the previous review states, I have had nothing but problems. Never pick up at the same time and sometimes not at all. My pick up is on Friday and when they forget me, they can't come until Tuesday to get it??? Horrible, horrible experience. From day one!!

Ignored, ignored, ignored. Thats all they do, just keep hoping their customer service problems go away. They lie about everything right to your face, then try to cover it with more lies, that aren't even good lies! This company is a joke in Baton Rouge! Too bad they have a contract with EBR because I would have another company in a heartbeat! Clearly they don't care either, just check out other reviews or ask anyone in this city.

I’m not understanding how I paid around $89 for both trash and recycling and then they said they were going to discontinue recycling and removed it off my bill, but my new bill is $95. They claim they had an increase in truck fees. No thank you, I cancelled and am going with a different company.

Finally getting rid of Republic. If I could give no stars there would be none. Nicely asked them to come and pick up their dumpster so that another company can drop off. Still hasn't been picked up after a week. Called them today to ask them to pick it up once again and waited on hold for over 30 minutes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED QUICK SERVICE YOU WILL BE SORRY!

ZERO STARS NOT AN OPTION HERE. GARBAGE MAN IS JUST THAT - GARBAGE. HE DROPS GARBAGE FROM MY CAN IN THE STREET AND LEAVES IT THERE. I TRIED TO WAVE HIM DOWN TO COME PICK IT UP AND HE BLEW RIGHT PASSED ME. THERE IS A 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. HE WAS EASILY DOING 30 MPH MAYBE MORE. HE SHOULD BE REPRIMANDED. HE ALSO DOESN'T PLACE THE CAN DOWN HE MUST TOSS IT BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS LAYING ON ITS SIDE - MY NEIGHBOR'S TOO. REPUBLIC SHOULD CARE MORE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I was receiving service every two weeks with Republic. I switched to Innovative and was able to have my trash picked up weekly for a cheaper price. I stopped my service with Republic and one month later was hit on my AMEX for a removal of container fee of $95. I have tried to reach their local number to discuss the fee, but always transferred to the national customer service. Customer service is helpful at the time and states I need to discuss any issues with their local rep who never calls the number I provide them. Use Innovative. Local company that answers their phone without a voice message. An actual person picks up the phone.

Truck knocked over and broke my mailbox. Took 6 phone calls just to have someone come “investigate” my broken mailbox knocked out of the ground had “no signs of damage according to them” working on going the legal route just to prove a point. Terrible company with terrible customer service.

Going on 3 weeks of no recycle pickup and rates continue to increase probably due to loss of customers. Every request for scheduled pickup was missed and my request to speak with management has not initiated a call back. Unfortunately they just don't seem to care. Too bad for the girls receiving all these phone calls as they can't seem to get anyone motivated by submitting the requests . Never seen such terrible service

I have cancelled my services and requested the pick up of their can for almost a month now. Just like their regular service they never show up. It’s to the point that I am going to call the parish I live in to file a formal complaint. Their so called service is a joke. They missed more pick ups than they made. A month never went by where they did not miss a pickup day. My trash is only picked up regularly once a week, so that means going two to three weeks with the same smelly garbage in front of my house. If you want terrible service and like to throw your money away this is the company for you. Terrible service from day one until now. Save yourself the hassle and go ahead and use someone else.

I would like to get a shout out to Tremiko Anderson a driver for Republic. She went above and beyond her duties. Our regular trash drivers has been missing pickups in our area, I called her and she came out early and picked up Truman st and Florida St .This is a dedicated worker and deserves to be rewarded for going above and beyond to satisfy her customers. A special thanks Tremiko. The 5 star is for her not republic.

DO NOT choose Republic if you have other option in your area. They skip service once every month on average and they charge extra comparing to other local company. What's even worse, i ended up paying 200 extra for stopping the service with them, including interruption fee, container pick up fee and so on.

This Trash company is "garbage" they do not send regular notices and will stiff you out of late fees of up to 50 dollars extra. The only notice we ever received was the late notice. Funny how the other notices never made it to us. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And Their customer service is terrible stay away.

This company is an embarrassment. They used to be decent, but starting in 2018 I've had nothing but trouble. Multiple missed pickups. When I call and speak to the customer service agents, they tell me every time that I will receive a "priority pickup" the next day. This priority pickup has not occurred even one time. I originally went with them because they offered recycling and trash service, but it is not worth it. I imagine it is all going to the landfill anyway as I've seen the recycle truck pickup both my recycle can and my garbage can (that was left from the prior day's missed pickup) and dump them into the same truck. I have switched over to Dale's now (had waste pro before Republic and they weren't much better). My neighbors all have Dale's and say they've never had an issue. I really wish ascension parish would get their act together and negotiate with a contractor to service the parish like Baton Rouge (and most of the civilized world) so that this would become a non-issue.

They have actually been terrible since we first signed on with them but I kept the service because of the recycling. They miss trash and recycling pickups on a regular basis. When I noticed that they were dumping the recycling into the same truck as the trash and called to report it, I was told that the truck is separated into two separate compartments - one for trash and one for recycling. Are you kidding me?!?!? I have seen this happen time and time again because they miss the recycle pickup nearly every time and just come back the next day and dump it with the trash, so what's the point? The truck has even turned onto my street (I am the 1st house on our street) and driven right past my trashcan at the curb on more than one occasion! I called to cancel today and sign on with Dale's who I'm told is very reliable. I can no longer bring myself to pay for a service that I am not receiving.

Terrible. I mean absolutely terrible. My recycling has been sitting by the street for three weeks. We keep getting calls about rescheduling our pick up but these lazy people aren’t coming. Use Dale’s if you live in ascension. Republic is losing me as a customer. I mean terrible. They should be ashamed of themselves. TRASH!!!!!!!
