Copart is a total rip off, don't get scammed into thinking this is a great deal. First you have to pay a broker to bid on vehicles. Then you pay a transaction fee, then a sale fee based on the sale price of the vehicle with a minimum amount. I figured up all the fees will be at the minimum 500. Can you say RIP OFF!!!!!

Customer Service was great. Dispatch and truck drivers that partner w/ Peddle are incompetent and worthless. They only schedule vehicle pick-ups in 4-hour windows, which I totally understand. They missed both appointments, and it was only after I called them that I found out they weren't coming.

They are dishonest thieves. My insurance company had my vehicle towed there after an accident. I went to collect personal belongings from the car that I was unable to get at the time of the accident, and half of my stuff was gone. And of course, they had no idea what happened to it and they certainly didn't take anything. They removed my belongings from the inside of the car and put them in the trunk, for what reason I do not know, and apparently in that process kept what interested them. If I could give negative stars I would!

Copart Kansas City is friendly and professional. The employees there went out of their way to help me. Copart is much better than the other guys for consumer auction bidding. I have purchased from the Graham WA yards and the Arlington WA and the Spokane WA yards, and all yards have provided good service. I have purchased Run and Drive cars from them and they have all worked out pretty well.

The one bad review was from 5 years ago. My college son had to sell Ol' Betsy, a 2004 Toyota Tacoma with 240,000 miles on her. Betsy had carried my first son past his first decade out of college and gave her to my next college boy who is nearing the end of his college years. Betsy had some left front quarter panel damage and the engine wouldn't fire properly on one of the pistons or valves or something. Interior was in good shape other than needing a good vacuuming job. When they quoted him a price, (and he was VERY honest with the truck) I thought they would get there and do a bait and switch the price thing. They didn't change anything after seeing the truck. Copart picked up the truck ON TIME and gave my son a check for the amount agreed upon, shook hands and that was it. I was VERY concerned because the check was a hand written check, not an official typed out check. My son took it the next morning to BofA, deposited it, didn't spend the money until he got confirmation from BofA that it was a good check and that was it. Betsy has probably long since been parted out to full-fill some other teen's dream of rebuilding an engine, allowing a family who can't afford new parts to get their truck going, or for someone restoring with OEM parts. Saying goodbye to Betsy was easy with Copart!

People are some bad and some good. Overall average. Policy wise they are weird. Posted the vehicle as run and drive and not even started but still charge $400 for relist fee. Manager was not willing to help just want to make money either way by selling or just posting junk and charge relist fee once you win on bid. Give up this junk part.

They took over the towing after I sold my car to peddle. They were supposed to call to arrange a time for towing but never did. I called the following week to learn it had already been towed. Due to that the shop charged them, when they wouldn't have if I were there (from the shop owner's mouth), which reduced the amount we expected by half, $260 down to $140. We also didn't get things out we wanted, and the check was written out for the wrong amount. Luckily they did end up sending the difference to make it the correct amount. There were 2 interactions with them and they failed at both. Giving 2 stars since I know it's at least a legit business.

i was informed by the general manager that i was indeed bidding against myself , which i was raising the price , beware of copart i am a 100 percent that i will be filing a lawsuit ,i notice several people on here said that to , it is true a you are bidding against your self, this is a scam auction site will take my chances in court ,and i will show you the docket number on here when i file suit thats how serious i am

My experience with Copart thus far has been abysmal! Copart told my insurance company that they would pick up my car on Friday (the day after the accident) or the following Monday...they didn't! They reported to my insurance company that they had picked up my car on Tuesday...I verified with my own eyes that they had not! At the same time that they claimed that they picked it up on Tuesday, they told an employee of the repair facility, that it would be Wednesday or Thursday! If Copart claims that they picked it up on Tuesday, why would they then turn around and say that they're picking it up on Wednesday or Thursday? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! Here it is, exactly one week after the accident, and I'm STILL WAITING on Copart to get their act together! Obviously, a disorganized amateur operation! Poor communication and a lack of organization!

New to the industry. My initial experience is that it's not a well organized operation. You check-in and sometimes there's a line of people including transport drivers waiting to be helped. Once staff observes this they should stop what they're doing and help customers that are waiting. Also, there should be a separate line for transport drivers since they're hauling away a customers vehicle. Cars that have been sold from the previous weeks auction are still in the lot with the current auction. Those cars need to be moved to another area out of the way of the current auction to make room for the current selection. The issue is that there's not enough room for all the cars so front load bulldozers are working continuously moving cars around. Current car auction vehicles are spread out over more than one lot so you can't view all the cars until they bring them over to the sale lot. They have until Wednesday the day before the auction to bring the car over which creates a disservice to the customer but also Copart getting the most money out of the vehicles. Just my two cents.

Sat around waiting for them to load my purchase. Loader driver did not even speak to me. Gave him my ticket and he just drove off. Didn't tell me anything. So now I sit around and waste my day. 50 Min and counting. I keep telling myself our business will not deal with the Kansas City location anymore. Lincoln NE is so much faster and efficient.

Working with Copart to have our insurance claim handled has been an absolute nightmare. I was in a wreck on a Saturday, but needed to tow the car to my residence before taking it to the salvage lot as I had $10,000ish of camera gear in the vehicle from a work trip. I did everything I was supposed to do - filed our claim immediately after the accident, processed all of the information with our adjuster, and called Copart on the Monday following the accident. I was told that there should be someone out by EOD Tuesday, but that came and went. I gave them a bit of grace, calling late in the day on Wednesday, at which point I was told that the driver was on his way. Not 30 seconds after I hung up, I got a call back from the dispatcher saying that no, they would not in fact be able to have a driver out to pick up my car on Wednesday - offering no explanation or apology. On Thursday I called at 11:24 to check on the status, hoping that it would have been towed, only to find out that "(their) driver, umm, hadn't come in to work this morning." Again, no real apology, but a promise to have the car towed by EOD Thursday. As I'm posting this review on a Friday, you can clearly surmise that it didn't happen. Another call to Copart, and another less than helpful rep with no real explanation. As I'm losing patience with them, I asked her to give me the address of their lot, so I can have our insurance company's roadside assist do the job, because at least then I'll know that it's getting done by a reputable tow partner.
