REVIEWS OF Maui Auto Salvage IN Hawaii

Disrespectful, rude, non-communicative for no reason. I think the person is on drugs. You don't want your family near.. you couldn't pay me $500 to do business with at least one guy who works there...

Sean Nakano

Rude and grouchy!

JJ Stafford

You have to pay to give them your car...owner is...interesting

Colin Mulvihill

Terrible customer service. When I asked about buying auto parts response was “I don’t sell parts, what I do is none of your business”

Before you pay for your vehicle to be disposed of at Maui Auto Salvage, check out Maui county's website (mauicounty.gov, junk vehicle disposal). You may be eligible for free disposal of your vehicle (Maui co. resident, 1 vehicle disposal per family, per year). This information is readily available online. That being said, step very lightly if you do take your vehicle to Maui Auto Salvage. You are entering PRIVATE PROPERTY - including roadway - not a public business. The rules are different there. So be aware. Be sure to have your license plates in your possession when you depart so you can take them, your registration and title to MVD to complete the junk vehicle process (an easy, necessary task). I wish I had done myself the favor of looking this up online before trusting the folks at A & K Auto and paying $200.00 for a disposal. Hindsight is 20/20. Paying the information forward to you is one way I'm doing my part to make life better for us all on Maui. One last note, BRAVO! to the County of Maui for instituting a program that could help address the abandoned vehicle problem here on this lovely island we call home.

I found the guy to be very kind and helpful. I was looking for used auto parts, which he couldn't help me with, as he doesn't sell them. However, he took the time to explain why and offered some suggestions.

I found Duncan to be a little grumpy but genuinely a kind man. I don't know who this JJ guy above is with his suspecting deduction of having to pay for a vehicle to be disposed of, that being said on the island as well as the mainland you get charged for disposing of vehicle that still has fluids in it & the wheels and tires on it. In the mainline they pay you for the scrap prices because they have metal factories, and we'll hear we don't it needs to be shipped on a barge off of Maui. Who's going to pick up the tab JJ? Maybe if you took better care of your vehicle you wouldn't have to scrap it, and obviously you didn't take care of it per yourself which would have cost you less money and some of your time, or paid local neighborhood kind mechanic a little more money and they would have done it for you, or you could have taken it to a shop and gotGuaranteed certified work done that could have prevented the vehicle from needing to be disposed of and in that case you had to pay somebody to scrap it for you anyway. So in a roundabout way it all make sense why you had to pay doesn't it? I mean you pay for the garbage man to come and take your rubbish don't you? Same thing here JJ that's why you paid Mr Duncan to take your rubbish vehicle and make it acceptable to the County's standard so that they could properly dispose of it. I say " way to go mr. Duncan!! You are the man and I really appreciate you taking the time an effort to create a service that helps keep rubbish vehicles from being left all over the place, that helps families who may not have the resources or ability to do it themselves!!" so Cheers!! to you Mr Duncan!! An awesome help and provider to the Maui County Community!! Sincerely - L. J. P.s. - to the J.J. person, Brah... Try think outside the box... Consider taking things into your own hands... How you think any company ever got started? Or even how this country came to be? We're lucky he's even allowed to go out and provide such a service.. what if you lived in some other country and your vehicle broke down and you had to dispose of it yourself and you didn't know how and nobody could provide a service like mr. Duncan does, because the country wouldn't let them. Try Thinking before speaking and/ Or just not saying anything at all.. if you don't have anything nice to say.
