Wow, what poor customer service. Got hell from Kenny the moment I walked in for having not enough steel. Said anything less than 200 lbs, was not worth their time. Told me I had to go through the whole process of fingerprinting, IDing, etc even though I said I had been there multiple times before. He complained that any little bit is not worth his time or his workers time. I said I didn’t need the money, just wanted to recycle and I got the most sarcastic “thank you for recycling” and he pointed me out to the scale area.
I met with one of his guys who I told I just wanted to drop off. He asked for my ID, sent me on the scales to the back. I unloaded everything myself, drove back and went to the shack to ask if I was good to go. Whole process took 8 minutes with me doing all the unloading. Kenny storms out complaining about wasting his time again, his workers, that I’m ripping him off, etc. His worker was giving me $2.30 for work that I did and I told him I didn’t even want the money (I left it on the counter for his worker’s tip because at least he was nice).
Look, you can tell this guy has no clue what customer service is. This is the 4th and last time I go there. The first two times I was told (by Kenny) both “my guy is out to lunch. Don’t know when he’ll be back,” and “I don’t work in the lightning” on an overcast but otherwise not stormy day.
Shame this is the only place nearby. Guess I’ll drive further to do my part for the environment.
