I need it to replace the Differential on my 2003 Ford Explorer": I called Chuck and Eddies for replacement part. They said over the telephone that they had it and I could use a credit card pay for it and pick it up the following day at their Plantsville, Ct., location. The work installing the Differential was done by my mechanic only to discover that the Differential sold to me by Chuck&Eddies was no good, I called Chuck &Eddies, again and they were willing to ship another one to my mechanic shop at South Main St., in New Britain. I had to again pay this mechanic to install the other Differential that was shipped to us. To my dismay the new Differential that we received was again installed and the mechanic noticed that it began to leak oil and proceed it to tell me that he was not willing to do the work again since he stated that he has just been charging me a portion of the cost to do the job of what the installation of a Differential entailed . By this time I was really disgusted", I called again Chuck&Eddie's, and I was told that my experience with the Differential was a bit unusual and they need it to check my vehicle, and that a gentleman by name David Mitchel, would get back to me. Mr. Mitchel, called me back and asked me to take Explorer there the next day for them to look at in an attempt to explain the problem. They work on the Explorer while I waited there and to my surprise the vehicle came out working 85% better than when I brought it in. Mr. Mitchel, reassured me that if I had any other issues to take the vehicle back that they would repair the Differential issue. The Explorer has a small humming sound that originates in the back of the vehicle, but I have been able to live with it. I am holding Chuck&Eddies to their word and if I continued to have any issues related to that Differential , I plan on taking this vehicle back to them to fix. I am a veteran, I am a good person, and I am a fair person, those are the chances we take when you are dealing with old, used parts. I do not think for a minute that Chuck and Eddie's intentionally try to cheat me! I wish to compliment Mr. David Mitchel, for his impressive Professional way in which he treated me, He is a person with lots of integrity, warm, caring, and regardless of the situation I felt he cared and I left out of Chuck and Eddie's with a smile in my face. It is because, he took responsibility for what had occurred that I feel that they deserve 5 stars! Thank You!

I would like to say how great those guys are.They have helped me tremendously. I would recommend them to everyone. Professional, polite and they have fixed my car for FREE. This is what happened. I have purchased a used transmission from Chuck and Eddies in Southington. I had it put in by a transmission place. They did not follow directions on replacing front pump seal,axle seals and gasket while installing it. So after I paid $700 and took my car home, one hour later all the transmission fluid leaked out. I was not able to drive my car again. I filled a claim with motor vehicle and better business Bureau, both got me no where they said there's no way to prove that transmission place did not do what they were supposed to do. So, in tears I called Chuck and Eddie asking them what I should do. They put a claim on the transmission that I have bought from them. They replaced it with another transmission, because driving with low transmission fluid damaged the one that was already installed. It was properly installed for FREE. They did not have to give me another transmission and they did not have to do any work on my car, but they did! It was done at 450 Old Turnpike Rd, where they have a licensed repair facility, same address as junk yard. But it not just junk yard. I can not thank Dave from claim division enough!!!!

Probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with when needing something for my car. Bought a part from them Friday, was told it would be sent out Saturday or Monday. It's now Tuesday, called this morning to get a tracking number so I could find out when I'll be able to drive my car again. Said I'd get a call back and then nothing. Just called and they still can't locate me a tracking number because the lazy people in shipping decide to leave the office early. You'd think when you ship someone a part you'd give them the tracking number with it. On top of it, no one there is ever helpful. The most pitiful apology for the inconvenience was given to me, and then after I said okay they just hung up. No have a nice day or thanks for your patience, nope! The WORST customer service. And if they think they can get away with it because I'm a female ordering car parts they're wrong. I know PLENTY about cars and plan on fixing my issue myself with friends. I do not recommend ordering anything through them. Yes the price was good, but not worth this wait or stress from it. You say you have 30 some employees, clearly none that can do their jobs right to have a happy customer. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM UNLESS YOU PLAN ON BEING OUT OF A CAR FOR LONGER THAN YOU WANT. Extremely unhappy.

I will never buy from them ,,I place an order for ac compressor on Tuesday I was promised delivery by Friday I call on Friday I was told that forgot to place the order now I have a customer waiting for this part so they promised me again that i.ll have it on Monday I call Monday it was not deliver again they promise to have it on Tuesday and they was going to reimburse me $15 for gas I go on Tuesday I go to pick up the part it was rusted and corroded all over so I demanded my money back and they refuse to reimburse me for my gas I wonder how many customers they have ripped off

But if you're the type to drop by, you'd be able to check your own parts out of hundreds of vehicles parked in the yard and that's what sets this place apart from all other junkyards. Just make sure you bring your tools and pay an entrance fee, which is no more than $1.00 and the whole yard is yours to find what you want.

I don't typically take the time to write reviews on a business but in instances where the business goes above and beyond the level of service I would expect to help a customer I feel as though I have an obligation to take the time and let others know that this is a quality business. I was in search of a replacement door for later model vehicle and after calling around to several salvage yards in my home state of Virginia and coming up empty, I decided to expand my search into other states. Chuck & Eddies' website has a very easy-to-use inventory listing and to my delight had the door in the exact color I needed. After calling the yard to see if the door was still available (it was!) I was quoted a price that was even lower than what was advertised online. Not only that, they offered to ship it right to my home for a small shipping fee. I expected that they shipping would take a week or more but to my surprise three days later it arrived in a large cardboard package. The door was securely bubble-wrapped and in great shape. I am very pleased with the purchase and would absolutely recommend Chuck & Eddies to anyone looking for quality, used parts.

This is the 2nd time they really screwed me. First time was a battery they said they had, I drove over an hour to get there for them to tell me they only had 1 battery on the shelf an it was going to be a few days before it was restocked. I asked, did they just sell out and the rep responded no, they only had 1 all day. I was so upset for them wasting my time and gas. Now, I ordered a part for my car on Friday afternoon. The rep, Jeremy assured me it was on priority and would be ready Saturday morning. I called Saturday morning and they said it would be ready before they closed at 2 and they would call me. About 1 I called back, meanwhile I had already scheduled a mechanic to complete the repairs on Saturday afternoon considering the repairs were urgent and I work M-F and really don't have time during the week. Jeremy said, sorry it won't be ready until Monday. I told my concerns and he asked "what do you want me to do?", condesendingly and offered a refund. That really sucks, I would have gotten the part elsewhere including ordering it online from Amazon with a Saturday delivery around the same price. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they screwed me. I don't need a refund, I need my part that I had already paid for. Now, I have no idea how I am going to get it Monday and definitely don't know how I am going to be able to get the repairs completed. They may seem friendly, however, I would rather them be reliable. Thanks for screwing me. Never again.

The junkyard is a great place to scavenge when you need a hard to find part, or a spare tire or something off an older car and don't want to pay an arm or leg for brand new. The warehouse is a great place for newer parts, already detached from the donor vehicle. All in all this place is a great place for cheap, used parts. Great when you're planning on doing the work yourself.

Ordered the part last Saturday & the gentleman said it would be there Monday 33% chance but definitely Tuesday in which it wasn't nor did they call me to let me know of status. I had to call them periodically & couldn't reach anyone or if I did they gave me the run around while on hold. Spoke with the manager few days later & he told me the part was there. So I went to pick it up Wednesday morning& part wasnt there . I waited 30mins for nothing. I then got my refund & went somewhere else. Horrible experience.

Quoted $50 for the part. I get there and it is 65+ with core charge and fees. I expect to pay tax but not 30% more than quoted. The service I got was good but I would reccomend better communication. If i knew there was a core charge I would not have taken time off work and driven so far.

I run a used car dealership in Hartford and I deal with lots of used car parts places and by far Chuck and eddies is absolutely the worst place I’ve ever dealt with for one , no one is ever on the same page and their parts are beyond junk. Like a throttle body I sent a driver to pick up which was literally filled with dirt to the point where the aluminum casing was corroded away end it looked like the part had been sitting in the bottom of the river for months all seized up There’s no courtesy at all it’s been a waste of time the last three times in a row I have dealt with this place.
