This school has a rather untrustworthy lunch system, my point being that they will charge extra money to your child's lunch accounts without their knowledge or the parents knowledge. They give no verbal warning about wether or not you have a 'super'. I am a 18 year old senior attending this wonderful school, but I have recently been exposed to this corrupt lunch system. After being charged extra on days that I was homebound, I conducted a test. I went through the lunch line and purchased the basic meal that they offered. They advise students during checkout to toss away their receipt in the trash bin that they have put out directly below. I however kept mine so the cashier went very quiet and lowered her eyes. I looked at the receipt and saw that she has charged me an extra $1.00 for a 'super'. This may not seem like a big deal but when the school has that many kids attending it, the extra money they make quickly builds to a very high profit. I walked back to the beginning and grabbed the 'super' I was charged for. The lunch attendant stopped me a said what I was doing, I calmly yet stoutly explained to her my ordeal and was simply wishing to be given the products I was being charged for. She completely refused what I said and threatened to charge me an 'entree' which is an additional fee of $3.50. I told her that what she is doing is wrong to these kids. I am now working to expose this kind of swindling to the parents and students so they can see what is really happening for themselves.
