This school only looks good on the outside. The closer you get and the more involved you become its a big mess and a shame. People dont send their kids here to get a good education but so that THEY ONLY ASSOCIATE WITH OTHER RICH KIDS. Let me school you on whats going on here at this crappy social club. If you love your child and your child is smart... dont send them here to get “dumbed down”. Theyll get an education in how to step on theyre peers. The kids that go there are cruel to each other! Theyre worse than public school kids! Ive talked to some of them and the bullying is pretty bad. Theres always other kids whos parents have more money. Sad. Theyre good at ostracizing certain students for many years and your child will be stuck with the same group of kids year after year because its a small knit community. Its a good way to tear a childs confidence down systematically. In our experience- My childs grades and education went down after one year at this school. Her teacher spent the year marking correct papers wrong, which i then had to bring back to her to re-check and re-mark as correct. She made simple, yet unnacceptable mistakes such as telling my child wrong state capitals and pronunciations of well known global words. Correcting my daughter with the wrong pronunciation and forcing her to accept misinformation to the point of tears (my child is gifted and a perfectionist) on top of the teacher blatantly allowing bullying to be openly tolerated before my daughter eventually won over the girls in the class, my daughter was not well cared for at this school. I was surprised that no one was assigned as a regular, fulltime caretaker in the locker room and after swim lessons - they certainly can afford it- my child regularly left the locker room with drenched hair, making the outdoor walk in frigid winter temperatures back to the lower school class building. She subsequently came down with pneumonia. The freckled red headed woman in Lower school administration office was rude and dismissive of my concerns. Smirked in my face, and wished me and my child well at the next institution. I hadnt wven made ANY mention of my child leaving NA, but after that, I was obliged to do so. Absolute lack of empathy. Lack of concern for safety and wellbeing. If your rich and have influence in Hampton Roads youll be treated respectfully, but if your blue collar, paying the same tuition as everyone else your going to be treated as if your the help.
