racist and violent school!!! no place for children and if your children are white howard U dont want them anyway!!!
A mind is a terrible thing too-waste. WASTED DAYS & WASTED KNIGHTS.
It is a good university.
My son attended HU and recently graduated in May 2017. His four year tenure afforded my son so many opportunities. He was exposed to many places and people &traveled overseas for internships. He also interned at UC Berkeley. He loves HU and I enjoyed his time at Howard as well. I'm glad we made the choice for him to attend HU BISON PRIDE!
nice university management professors
The experience of Howard University is priceless. My heart remains here.
Becasue I am student and like studies.
Being a former bison I found enough education in the Howard Hilltop to direct me to a rewarding and instructive future. What questions my parents didn t answer the Hilltop did.
Recommend to be a student.
21st century...new beginning. Fraud is colorless. Activism is necessary. Do the right thing, regardless of ethnicities. Shaking the cob-webs out of shame.
Howard is the place to go for the arts experience. we bring our youth group, Doves & Eagles of Faith (the Doves) to the culminating dance event every spring. It is a first class experience! The dances are unique, mind b9ggling, inspiring, and just plain entertaining. Our youth request to come every year! WE LOVE HOWARD UNIVERSITY! Top of the line in every way!
We all had a great time at Howard University while enrolling our Beloved Tyree I. Austin, 8/2017. It's an historical site where the grounds are kept nicely and many students have attended, graduated and still enrolling to get the best education ever. ♥️
The best years of my life was at Howard University. I thank you for my well-gotten education and social experience.
What i like about Howard university is that , it would teach me more and learn about more things I wanna know about learning about more educations
The new dorm towing student's cars at Howard 4 and v st NW DC
Overall is a good university to attend.
I did not attend HU, but this university shaped and molded some of the greatest minds of America's history. It is and always will be America's University.
Enjoyed the visit with the daughter
My mom graduated from here.
Howard University provides a community which supports and nurtures students as they navigate their way towards individual grow and continued scholarship.
I love this palace because i love harry potter movies and his palace
Howard uni is a temple of education and knowledge, I would love to be a part of this great institute. Bt I dnt think I have capability to do so , so I am very sad , and I m Happy to know that you doing excellent in your field. God bless you . Heartly I m wd you. Gurpreet Singh, Punjab, India. Master of English lit and language.
Higher learning? I'm a person of color. I did not vote for Trump. But I read the tweets and FB posts made by students and alum re the white girls with the MAGA hats on. I swear Howard must be teaching how to insult, swear and threaten because that is all they did. No debates? No civility? No class. I don't agree with those girls but free speech? In conclusion Howard University does not equal higher learning.
Great people. I love it here..lots of beautiful black females.
"I want to go *-*"
The Black Mecca of Higher education. Please review the impressive list of Alumni, for which I am one. I loved my Howard experience. It changed my life forever.
Great school and the surrounding area is starting to blossom.
Best university ever
Not a great school but acceptable!
Howard University financial aid office needs help. The department proves to be very incompetent. Loosing important documents and paper work seems to be common. My daughters transcripts were withheld, preventing here from transferring to another school. The reason for the hold on the account, according to Howard, was because they did not receive the master promissory note, (Which I sent in a total of 3 times. I was told that they would look in to it and they would get back to me. This was in October of 17. Now, as of May 21st 2018, I am being told the exact same thing, "we will look into it and get back to you." Howard, please do better. You are doing a disservice to the wonderful reputation of HBCU's across this country. DISAPPOINTED!!!!
Had a great tour!!!
Great school

My alma mater...'nuf said. Lol.
Great institution for higher learning. Homecoming 2019 was fun, except for the score of the game.
met a lot of great minds that came out of that University!

Homecoming this weekend and career fair yesterday. So glad to be back!
Good all black school
For my friend's choise
Nice place
Howard the REAL Harvard. ( the black version) lol. People told me not to go to Howard. (Ignorance) Going to HU undergrad on campus was one of the BEST decisions I made in my life. The good, the bad, great and ugly were all valuable life learning lessons. I literally cried tears of joy the first day I attended all in the auditorium, singing, dancing with campus pals.....those were the days. I met friends for LIFE. Most people miss out on experiencing a true college experience, " I'm so glad, that I went to Howard U !"
Your so cool
Its very great intergetic and i would know i live 10 minutes from it
Bunch of racists who hate white people
Great university
Yeah, the neighborhood is a little worrisome.
Racist system and it's a shame. Honorable higher learning institutions should not teach students to hate this country or the people in it!
Yikes on these horrible reviews, I’ve had my share of dissatisfaction with HBCU’s @Clarkatlanta smh, anyway...the campus at Howard is BEAUTIFUL And well kept..well it was nicely groomed the last time I was there. It’s campus has such a rich history. Sorry that there have been so many bad experiences smh, we’ve got to do better if not for anyone else FOR US!!!
Beautiful
Howard University is a once in a life time experience like none other, that keeps you connected for life. Law, Med,, Grad school or undergrad all propel you towards life with a robust zeal to succeed!
My time here was amazing and the further you get from it the more you realize just how awesome it was. Of course I loved it when I attended and I was excited when I graduated but in the years I have spent since navigating the world I've come to understand just how prepared I was. Of course there are going to be issue as with any school and each crop of students has to find their place. They prepare you to deal with the rude clerks of the world and the confusion of bureaucracy but more than that they teach you to be true to you, be comfortable in your skin, stand up for who you are, think for yourself and make the world take notice. More important than the wonderful career skills are the life skills. I'll always be grateful.
This campus was really nice. The college presentation was concise and thorough. The presenter seemed knowledgeable and engaging. It seems to be a great place offering a lot of opportunities for young adults of color. Our tour guide was a young lady who is a senior at the school and she was so articulate and presented the information in a way that conveyed her knowledge of the school and also how much you really enjoyed going there. The students on the campus all seemed very happy and friendly. After the the tour I felt as if I would be comfortable allowing my son to go there if he so chooses.
O Howard, we sing of thee.
good University
5 Stars for the learning experience and atmosphere. The administrative process leave many things to be desired, though.
A woman who said her name was Brooke works in the financial aid office has disabled my bisonweb access. On the phone she seemed short tempered and stressed. She insisted that she couldn’t help me with any of my financial aid questions and told me to come into the financial aid office or call back later. I wanted my bisonweb pin reset but instead I truly believe that she intentionally disabled my access to my account. She was very rude and is not doing her job. Her name is “Brooke” and she is a terrible choice of representation for the financial aid department. I will continue to write truthful reviews about my experiences at Howard Offices until changes are made. This woman Brooke needs to be fired immediately!
Great social gatherings
It's a wonderful school, that really prepares you for the real world
great school
I'd like to come and be educated here.
That's nice .can you give me ticket to study to it please
The best university in Washington
Best university for doctors
A great place to study business administration or journalism. In the bookstore check out new audio books like A Damsel In Distress episode 2 by Sean Diddy Combs and Let Aqua Hydrate Pay Your Tuition both on ITunes and Audible.
At one time this was the livest black college to come to!! Band is awesome!!!!!!! Puff daddy graduate from this school!! Now he is a Billionaire wow!!!!!!!
Terrible, fraudulent and stressful financial aide office.
HOWARD UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL, Orientation. I heard one of the most profound statements i had ever heard. The PROFESSOR , stated, " You were chosen to attend this HOWARD UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL. Not because all of you will practice Law as a Lawyer. But we feel that you will use your Howard Law School education, to help your community and fellow citizens with the knowledge you learn, from this Law School "
"Institution where freedom of thought, choice, and expression are ever-present"?? Really?? Is that how your students learned to attack people for their political beliefs and what they choose to wear? Losers.
The best HBCU all across the board! I enjoyed my 4 year undergraduate experience here. Howard teaches you about life!
What can I say HU!, and No I don’t mean Hampton. I went to DC to visit my family and I talked to them about my ambitions which involved attending the Mecca of all HBCU’s Howard University, this institution seemed so amazing when I visited and it’s a perfect area especially for I’m majoring in I love the big city and the liveliness of not only the harboring neighborhoods but the students as well. Not to mention the rich history both on and off campus. Howard is one of my first choices to go to college and pursue my goals I just can’t wait to attend the illustrious HBCU know as HOWARD UNIVERSITY! GO Bisons!
I Love Howard!
Where's Veronica???
I really want to achieve a full 4 year scholarship to Howard University, howard is my #1 college
One of the best HBCU's next to Morehouse and Spelman
Best HBCU, hands down. No other experience like it. I have been able to learn about the history of my people, learned how to thrive in ANY environment and was actually prepared for the real world. Howard forever has a place in my heart.
My school. My life!
Marvelous institution. Rich in history.
I would love to go here so i can be an police offier when i am older and i am 9 years old
Culturally rich, academically strong, supportive environment, and leadership training grounds are some of the terms are used to describe this place. No place is perfect, but Howard was perfect for me!
One of the best decisions I've ever made.
HU alumni here, the experience was awesome as well as the education. I'm able to hold my own out here in the corporate world. Although I sometimes thought some of my professors were a little tough, I appreciate the lessons taught now and realize that I was being prepared to be the best by the best.
I'm only a freshman in High School but I know exactly where I want to go to college!
It's beautiful I saw it in July 27th 1996 during my visit to Washington DC.
Howard is not perfect, by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it is THE H.U. (NOT the "lesser" H.U. *cough* Hampton *cough*). The self confidence I developed there has led me to go on to get my Masters of Science in Public Health from Meharry Medical College, and most recently, my R.N. People take notice when they see that I graduated from Howard. Especially Black hiring managers. It says that not only did you withstand the rigors and aggravations of attending an HBCU, with its typical lack of funding, and poor organization, but you SURVIVED. And after meandering through the maze of challenges, I came out on the other side with some really AWESOME friends, that I STILL have, 23 years later! When you are going through it, it seems like it will NEVER end, and that it is not worth the hassle. WRONG. It is a great lesson in character-building, and a test of strength and endurance. I LOVE my Alma Mater. I would not trade my experience there for ANYTHING in the world.
Will be transferring here after my freshman year
First Black University and Excellent Campus for Study .
I had my son on Valentine’s Day and my experience at HU’s labor and delivery ward was amazing. The dr’s, pediatrician and staff were VERY attentive when it came to me and my sons needs. I especially want to thank nurse C. Walters and nurse King. Nurse Walters helped so much with my son I wish I could of taken her home with me.
Higly Professional
Shame on you Howard University for supporting hatred towards others race, creed, or beliefs. You are yourself racist and are the ones creating racism. So very sad.
Great school! Administration needs impr
my alma mater. couldn't have asked for a better undergraduate experience.
I want to go to Howard University ever since my 4th grade teacher told me about it boy do I want to see what it looks like there and learn there
Deciding to attend Howard University was the best decision I could have made as a 17 year old high school senior. My undergraduate experience was exceptional! It made me the woman I am today. Thank You Howard University!
My daughter is a Freshman at Howard University. She loves the school. Her academic and social experiences have been awesome. The school offers tremendous opportunities in undergraduate travel abroad and research . She is a Chemistry major/ Math minor with pre-med focus. Her professors expect her to excel in her studies. She’s not coddled , but “ pushed” to be her best. The preparation for graduate medical school is definitely a focus of her curriculum at Howard University. We love the fact that she’s surrounded by like-minded individuals. The campus is beautiful. We love the culture, the fact that she can just be herself, not a conformist for sake of political correctness. I’m “sure” the hateful comments were from folks who don’t understand the reason HBCU’s we’re created in this country. I know that my daughter will be far prepared for her graduate medical education, while receiving a world renowned education in a Utopia of “Brown and Beautiful excellence !”
I wish that i will be the part of howard unversity
A lot of these white people mad asf and I’m btfuuuu. Go Bisons!!
Pretty campus!!
Nice
Wow! World top university. I want to take admission here please send further instructions.
I wish I can serve for this institute. God bless American
I'm an HU Grad and proud of it Always!!
For a tourist, the scenery is good.
I will mention downsides: - In an unsafe neighborhood - Not as empathetic with non-Black, international students as with Blacks especially when it comes to financing students. - The Communication Department does not use technology to spot plagiarism in either undergraduate or graduate students' homeworks. - It's ok to use bias in research in the name of "critical theories" or "critical methodology." - The whole university suffers from mismanagement. In late August 2016, the university had a crisis regarding funding graduate TAs in all departments for Fall 2016 or not.
I was there in 86, ghetto neighborhood back then. Now it’s a upscale area.
University is good
Apparently light on freedom of speech if it doesn't fall in line with their beliefs. This makes freedom null and void progressing only to a socialist communist agenda.
If possible go at least one hour earlier then you're appointment
I matriculated from there
Excellent education faculties..
Best experience of my life. I love Howard University. #Bison4Life #HU #YouKnow
The Best
All bias aside, my tenure at Howard University (1987-1991) was a major highlight of my life experience. The intellectual and cultural exchange were priceless! Professors like Dr. Richard Wright, Dr. Joni Jones, Dr. Lyndrey Niles, and Dr. Melbourne Cummings were so inspirational. They impacted my life on multiple fronts. That's what good professors do. No matter who has less than favorable views about HowardU, HU held (holds) its own valiantly. I'm a proud graduate of this institution... Karim R School of "C" 1991
Ghetto protests against Ghetto staff.
nice university keep the good work
Likely dis mmnt was very awesome when i went Howard ...
SIMPLY THE BEST!
The only Single handed woman pushing economic freedom in America! Braid On was created to bring awareness to the unfair treatment women of color are receiving worldwide . Black Hair is Underattack in America!
Gotta love HU!
Good university
I had to stop working in September of 2016 and our daughter chose to attend Howard University all 2017, following her high school graduation. I was given rights by our daughter to speak to anyone on her behalf. She signed and submitted the FERPA form We were informed that the school offers a program “Special Circumstances” that can help beyond scholarships. We have been trying to get some assistance from this program but since July 19, 2017. We have submitted every possible document they have requested, and I mean “every” including my surgery report and prognosis. But every time my daughter takes the requested documents into the financial aid office, she is asked to go back and bring another document. They don’t even have a printout of the specific documents required, just what ever comes to the person answering the call that day. WHY SUCH A DELAY IN GIVING THE STUDENTS AN ANSWER TO THE “SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES “ REQUEST. So far we have over 90 pages of documents to give them but now they want my 2018 taxes or a statement from the IRS stating that I did not file that this year. I am at a lost for words here how do they expect the IRS to give me a statement when the tax season is still in effect and 2018 hasn’t ended yet??? My daughter applied for a loan about two weeks ago but Howard did not process the loan documents, instead we received a bill for 6700.00+ which is due to be paid by March 17th. No one to answer our questions but they cowardly wrote us requesting payments from the students prior to her returning to classes. Now I don’t know how we are going to get any information on the loan she applied for when everyone at the school is on vacation again. It appears that the university is runned by students that lack the proper professional training. Students are reporting that their names have been sent to credit bureau and their scholarships revoked because they have a balance on their account and the amounts keep changing. This I know for sure, the amounts owe does change from one week to another. We dealt with that last fall. The inadequate administrative staff is bringing this historic university to ruins. Now I have to get a attorney in the Washington DC area, on a plane and go to Howard university myself to clear up their mess.
i all ways wanted to go there but i dont't know if brown people can go if they do is there any brown there
The Mecca!
You are calling the police officers?
❤️
Veri nice place ...awesome view .. beautiful clean place ..one of the biggest and most important University in World .. ....Six years later, in 2013, university insiders again alleged that the university was in crisis. In April, the vice chairwoman of the university's board of trustees wrote a letter to her colleagues harshly criticizing the university's president and calling for a vote of no confidence; her letter was subsequently obtained by the media where it drew national headline.[31][32] Two months later, the university's Council of Deans alleged that "fiscal mismanagement is doing irreparable harm," blaming the university's senior vice president for administration, chief financial officer and treasurer and asking for his dismissal.[33] In October, the faculty voted no confidence in the university's board of trustees executive committee, two weeks after university president Sidney A. Ribeau announced that he would retire at the end of the year.[34] On October 1, the Board of Trustees named Wayne A.I. Frederick Interim President.[35] In July 2014 Howard's Board of Trustees named Frederick as the school's 17th president.[36] Howard University (HU or simply Howard) is a federally chartered, private, coeducational, nonsectarian, historically black university(HBCU) in Washington, D.C. It is categorized by the Carnegie Foundation as a research university with higher research activity and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. From its outset Howard has been nonsectarian and open to people of all sexes and races. Howard offers more than 120 areas leading to undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. Howard is classified as a Tier 1 national university (No. 89) and ranks second among HBCUs by U.S. News & World Report.[4]Howard is the only HBCU ranked in the top 75 on the Bloomberg Businessweek college rankings.[5] The Princeton Review ranked the school of business first in opportunities for minority students and in the top five for most competitive students.[5] The National Law Journal ranked the law school among the top 25 in the nation for placing graduates at the most successful law firms.[6] Howard has produced four Rhodes Scholars between 1986 and 2017.[7] Between 1998 and 2009, Howard University produced a Marshall Scholar, two Truman Scholars, twenty-two Fulbright Scholars and ten Pickering Fellows.[8][9] In 2011, the Huffington Postnamed Howard the second best-dressedcollege in the nation.[10] Howard is the most comprehensive HBCU in the nation and
I love it because its my dream school
My daughter-in-law applied to Howard to pursue her Masters in Howard's Occupational Therapy Master of Science Program. She received her Bachelors from MD University with almost a 4.0 GPA. She has worked in this field for the past 6 years and included 3 very high ranking referrals with her application on her outstanding knowledge and support she has brought to their facility. Howard students in this program have interned at the facility she works for. She received her generic 3 line letter from Howard last week denying her application. No interview, no explanation, no phone call back after calling and leaving several messages. Their website is misleading as the first part of their mission statement is "they are culturally diverse". Their website should also include that Caucasians get a 1% chance to be accepted, my daughter-in-law could have saved on her fee to apply.
Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” ― Aristotle
Its awesome
The crown jewel of the HBCUs, Howard has a beautiful, green campus in the heart of The District.
This school is a joke...it promotes criminal like James Comey.
My youngest son will be attending this Fall.
The best years of my life. #DrFranceCressWelsing #01/23/2016
great school if you are african
Though I didn't receive the true "Howard experience" because I was a transfer student, I wouldn't trade it for the world. My father received his PhD at HU and I too went on to pursue my doctorate here as well. There are ups and downs with any school, but to attend Howard is to attend a school with rich history and awesome comradery. To gain a network of black professionals is an asset very few schools can give and for that I am forever grateful.
Your school preaches HATE Shame Shame on you!!!
Its the black meeca I loved it!!
Nice
Horrible school
Howard isn't without it's problems. No university is. My experience here shaped my thinking in more ways than I could have ever imagined. It is safe to say Howard University played a great role in raising me. HU!!!! YOU KNOW!!!
My cousinnsaid her hair came out from studying. She had roaches in her room coming from the outside window
Great University.
Great school better relations, family type setting.
This is best universities for school-ship and these infrastructure is real cool and awesome.
i got beat up all the time
Best teaching a top ranker of this university
Accepted applicants to Howard University School of Medicine have some of the lowest mean GPA & MCAT scores of any Med School in North America, with only San Juan Batista Escueala de Medicina in PR admitting less qualified students. Additionally, despite receiving Federal dollars, Howard makes no attempt to hide their bias against Caucasian students. Of Caucasian applicants scoring in the 95th to 98th percentile on their MCATs(Howard avg for accepted applicants is 51st percentile) and having GPAs between 3.6 and 3.8 (3.4 avg for accepted applicants) only 8% were admitted, while at other Medical Schools this student subgroup was admitted between 83% and 97%, demonstrating clear discrimination at Howard University School of Medicine. If it were Harvard instead of Howard, and superiorly qualified African American students were discriminated against instead of Caucasians, DOJ, DOE, NAACP, UNCF, BLM, and every other pro black group would be demonstrating infront of the Dean's office. Everyone is against institutional racism, provided the color satisfies the narrative. The only unprotected class is the straight, white, conservative male.
Attended HU for two years undergrad. Could not have asked for a more prestigious experience. Two of my best years!
high.boosting
Good.
If you like organization, then Howard is not the school for you. I am an incoming freshman for Fall 2017. The campus is nice and I visited. They have my program and gave me a good scholarship. I thought that the school name "Howard" was awesome and the experience would be like no other. That may be true. There are, however, MAJOR cons to attending. Move-In information was released one week before move in was scheduled to take place. No information about roommates were given to most students; others were lucky to be given the names of their roommates. This year Howard admitted far too many students; double rooms are turning into triples and some freshmen are being moved into upperclassmen dorms. I've had an extremely difficult time navigating the administration regarding class scheduling (I didn't know what classes they scheduled for me until a week before move-in), financial aid, and residence halls. I've sent many emails to their departments and receive no answer (after weeks and even months of waiting). Howard takes the crown for leaving students high-and-dry when it comes to help. Good luck getting Howard to pick that phone up, and if you think you can just leave a message, I forgot to mention, all the voicemail boxes for each and every department are filled and there's no room for you to leave a message. And in case you want to send an email, it's good for you to know that they probably won't respond. Even if it's a major issue you need fixed, Howard says "oh well." So if you don't live in the DC or DMV area, great luck getting what you need to be done -- done. I'm extremely frustrated and haven't even reached campus yet. Howard is unorganized, uninformative and unhelpful in the transition from high school to college. From the outside looking in, Howard is not a place I want to be. (Unfortunately I'm finding out the hard way-- after accepting admission) I only hope that I think differently from the inside looking out. I'm starting to think they forgot their motto: "In Truth and Service." Isn't part of their service to help students? What I think is really in truth though, from the outside looking in, is that Howard is overrated. If you're thinking about attending Howard, I strongly advise you to reconsider those thoughts. Strongly. When I get on campus, if I think any different, I promise I will come back and edit. EDIT: I've completed 7 days on campus; "Freshmen Week." You will meet nice people, will never "fit out," there are events, church services, and services for religions other than Christianity, and good experiences for those who are not used to the predominantly black, big-city-like environment. However, let me start by saying that Howard University, once again, has proved to be EXTREMELY unorganized. Move-in day is an occasion that I assumed would be chaotic, as probably with every school. Howard's move-in, however, was UNNECESSARILY A MESS. I first waited in a very unorganized line in the car (where we weren't given clear directions on where to line up). After waiting two hours, we were told that we had another 4 hours to wait to move in. On move-in day and throughout the week, students did not have beds (only mattresses to sleep on the floor). MANY students were missing desks, dressers, beds, and wardrobe closets in their rooms. Almost every person I knew had SOMETHING missing. I had a very low bed; Howard told me that I was going to get a higher bed, then came back to tell me that they were NOT going to give me a higher bed and that I had to BUY risers for my bed. It took 6 days for Howard to bring my desk and chair. The academic advising appointment I made to finally get credits transferred and my schedule updated has been cancelled 1 hour before my appointment. And they want US to cancel 24 hours in advance if we can't attend appointments. Should've seen that coming, right? I could ramble on much more. Howard University, you are terrible to your students. Your students create almost every positive aspect of the experience, not the institution itself.
