Wow! As a life long county resident, I was shocked to see this school showed a video to the students that propagated white guilt. Another reason I support private education. Shame on the Henrico School System.

Glen Allen High School is more than a school, it's a family. We received tons of media scrutiny in the past few weeks out of nowhere. We are a positive school. Our school hasn't won a home game all year, but each game our student section is packed with students who continue to scream at the top of their lungs for the team they love and support. We grouped together to elect a kid diagnosed with down syndrome as our homecoming king. All of a sudden, we accidentally play a racist song during warm-ups of a football game followed by an evacuation because of bomb threats and we become the worst school ever. Not true. We evacuated approximately 2,000 people in under 6 minutes without ever practicing a drill. The student that accidentally played the racist song personally apologized in front of the school, and in front of the entire Henrico Board of Education. Last year, our Boys Varsity Baseball team and Competition Cheer Team won states. We are a prestigious school regardless of media scrutiny and misinterpreted rumors. We are the Jaguars.

The school is great but for freshmans, just like any school, It's hard to join the family. The people here are really sweet but It's just hard to squeeze yourself in ya know?

I think the biggest reason why this school is getting so much negative media attention is because of our new principal, I mean, it's somewhat strange that things begin going downhill once we gain a new principal....The things that went down this year were totally unnecessary and just caused stress to the students

I wouldn't want to get my high school education anywhere else. I have loved GAHS since the the first day of 9th grade. Even though our school has been in the media's attention over the past couple of weeks for mainly negative incidents.That doesn't describe us; these couple of incidents aren't the face of Glen Allen High. Glen Allen is more than a school. We are a family!
