Just Me

Absolutely horrid. That is the only way to put it. This school treats minority’s quite horribly and is extremely sexist. There are good and bad teachers but when you try to fix situations the bad teachers give you the school does nothing. There have been many cases of teachers purposely failing kids and not teaching but the school doesnt care. This school cares more about money and test scores than they do about the students. If your student cheats and gets a 99 I believe the school wouldn’t care even if their honor code says differently. They give out too many unnecessary outside school and inside school suspensions. They will give these out just if your child was in the area something happened in. It does not matter if you are innocent or guilty they will not put in the effort to find out as it takes to much time and money.

Great school if you're white. If you're any shade of brown (black, Latino, asian, etc) you're going to hate it here. The school is extremely racist from the students to the administration. If you're brown, you're not wanted and they make it known. It's still stuck in the 1960s like segregation never ended.

why try

let’s just say, first day here, bullied and treated like trash by white rich boys. by all means concerning when it comes to the social construct here. very hostile environment filled with angsty, edgy teenagers just leaning on edge to take a bite at you. it sucks especially seeing students neglected as well.

i am currently a junior at this school and it’s terrible for your kids. teachers will stereotype you the first time they meet you and are very incompetent. Illegal activity is no different than any other school in the Shelby County or Memphis area. This is the first year this school has gone without a student committing suicide or having an “accidental death”. These iPads they give us have a million and one issues and really just disrupt learning. If you’re a minority forget about it you’ll get treated with no respect, if you’re poor you’ll be ridiculed for what you wear, lunches are overpriced and nonfullfilling (i spend $6 a day at lunch). DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE.

School's alright, if you put aside the fact that half the teachers are incompetent and some racist, the dress code is very sexist towards girls, the school itself is very unsanitary (mice, ants, etc.), Programs other than sports are underfunded and pushed to the side later to be forgotten, multiple fights a month, loads of drugs and high students, sex, and leaky rooves But aye 2 stars for them vending machines (overpriced)

The school has some great teachers and some not so great teachers but they are losing many great teachers due to the administration being overbearing and focused on the wrong things. Administration isn’t as much concerned with educating the students as they are making the school look good with things like test scores. (I graduated with a 4.4 GPA and 14 college credit hours.)
