I am a Caucasian student who has been discriminated against by teachers as well as students. I try to be nice and fair to everyone but it's hard when your principle is also discriminating against you. For example I have been picked out of a crowd of people for wearing a beanie during the winter time when there were other African American students literally Three seats down who was also wearing one and nothing was said to him. Now if you're thinking I am a racist, just know you are very mistaken.
But I digress, that is not my only point. I went to school in Indiana when i was a freshman, I'm a junior now and I am still learning the same material that I learned as a freshman. There are food fights constantly, almost a normal occurance. When we went out to stand in silence for the 17 children who pasted away in Florida we were not at all quiet. That ordeal was supposed to last for 17 minutes, it lasted for about an hour and a half. There were students jumping on a police car and stomping so hard that they broke the windshield of the vehicle.
Another point I have to make is the fact that the school corporation has no idea what they are doing, as well as our own school. Many of my teacher fail to put grades in the grade book and some are ridiculously ignorant on what to do with their own classes in their own classrooms. I shouldn't have to badger my teacher everyday to finally get them to put the grade in weeks later. And when they do guess what, test grades are worth 90% making homework almost pointless. And the students who aren't good at test taking get wrecked on grades when it comes to the end of the semester.
I am ashamed to go to this school and I would never send my child to such a terrible school.
Truthfully some teachers are great and some students actually care. But they are few and far between. So to finish off, this school has brought me nothing but stress and anxiety, I'm absolutely ready to graduate.
